And when his past finds them—and Ruby Jane’s family—is he still the man who can save them?

The thrilling conclusion to the Montana Marshalls series!
A Note from Susie May
Regret. Oh, it haunts us, doesn’t it? I’ll be doing the dishes, or lying in bed in the middle of the night and suddenly, out of the blue, a conversation I had with one of my children a decade ago will surface in my brain and I’ll think—oh, no that poor child will need counseling! Because we just don’t get it right all the time. But we can’t go back and rewrite it—we simply have to live with what we’ve done or said…or wish we’d said. (and done.)
Worse, those action sit in our hearts tell us lies. “You’re defective. You’re not enough.” It’s called shamed and it makes us stand outside the circle of acceptance. It makes us see through dirty lenses and interpret wrongly the actions of others.
It makes God seem absent in our lives.
But he’s not. In fact, he’s standing in the circle, beckoning us in, saying, I’ve called you my child. And I know your regrets and your hurts…and I want to heal them.
“Behold, I make all things new.” (Revelation 21:5)
I knew that Wyatt wasn’t like his brothers, that he looked at them and measured himself, believing he wasn’t enough. Because of his career, he always felt outside the Marshall family. Yes, much of it was his choice, but he still felt as if he didn’t belong. And he interpreted his father’s actions through his lens of hurt. It set him on a path of regrets. And when confronted with the opportunity to live a different life…well, it scared him. What if he was rejected again? Or worse, what if he lived up to his own poor expectations?
And Coco…well, she just wanted someone to love her, just like all of us do.
“Behold, I make all things new.” Including our lives. Our hearts. Our hope.
We just have to trust him enough to walk into the circle. To open our hearts. To believe He loves us.
To give us eyes to see it.
To give us courage to embrace it.
What truth is God beckoning you to embrace today? The one that says…trust me with your regrets. Trust me with your heart?
Trust Him, because you are his beloved child. He is opening his arms and inviting you into the circle.
Thank you for staying with me through this series! One more epic story left—and it is my favorite!
I’m so very grateful to all those heroes and heroines in my life who have helped me bring the Montana Marshalls to life. My writing partner, Rachel Hauck, for always being the voice of wisdom and creativity on the other end of the phone. Alyssa Geertsen, my key beta reader, Barbara Curtis, for her amazing editing, Rel Mollet, who keeps me on schedule, and for her thoughtful insights to bring the story deeper. My talented cover designer, Jenny @ Seedlings Design Studio, and my fabulous layout artist, Tari Faris. Thank you also to my proof readers (any mistakes are all mine!) Lisa Jordan, Lisa Gupton, Bobbi Whitlock and Laurie Stoltenberg. WOW, you catch so many things…you are all such a blessing to me!
And, I’m thankful to the Lord, who is always and forever telling me He loves me. I am His beloved daughter. That I am in his hands. Wow.
Finally, thank you awesome reader friend, for reading Book 4: Wyatt. I can’t wait to bring you Book: 5 Ruby Jane—and the epic conclusion of the series!
