Has the ONE LIFE “invasion” hurt GH? It’s still too early to tell, but an industry insider shared with me day-by-day 18-49 demo ratings numbers with UNCENSORED. Here are my notes as to what was happening onscreen with the numbers the embattled earned:

Starr Debut — Highest day of the week in key demo (616,000). Higher than the day Robin died (596,000 in key demo) and the day after (588,000 in key 18-49 demo).

Blair Debut — GH was having a great week, including its first 2.0 in months, but on March 2 the widespread DVR Blackout affected ratings for Blair’s debut.

Todd Debut — On March 5 and 6, GH netted 764,000 in key demo and 697,000, respectively. Also, GH beat THE VIEW in the 18-49 demo on both days — and that kind of ratings triumph doesn’t happen often (it also happened on March 14).

John McBain Debut — McPain had less success than his Llanview friends/enemies: On March 13, the hunk attracted 518,000 in key demo, and on his second day, GH experienced the second worst day of the week in key demo.

While GH has lost viewers overall since the ONE LIFE transplants visited Port Charles, if you look day-by-day, it appears the Llanview residents aren’t scaring away viewers but the newer characters and GH’s horrible lead-in, THE REV, are. Regardless, let’s forget that the ONE LIFE invasion has also helped GH receive major mainstream publicity and trend on Twitter for the first time.

REMOTE CONTROL: Soap Triumphs! Soap Malfunctions!

  THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

  • It’s sad that B&B is wasting the talents of Kristolyn Lloyd — the best younger black actress on soaps today — with hair model Texas Battle. Talk about a losing battle! How about a Thorne and Dayzee pairing?

  >>FAST-FORWARD

  DAYS OF OUR LIVES

  • DAYS really needs to rethink its lacklustre quadrangle Carrie/Austin/Rafe/Abby because it’s badly acted, predictably written and cliché. While Kate Mansi is delivering the goods, the same cannot be said about Patrick Muldoon (his pecs do more acting than Patrick does), Christie Clark and Galen Gering. DAYS needs to realign Sami, E.J. and Nicole; bring back Mike as a hunky interloper for Austin and Carrie (if we must endure them); and throw the talented Mansi into a controversial pairing with Daniel, which would drive Jack and Jen batty. Just sayin’.
