Run Page 8

“Bloody hell you’re everywhere lately, aren't you?”

“I,” I began to try to defend myself but it was true. Everywhere I was lately she wasn’t far away. I knew my cheeks were turning red again and I cleared my throat. I heard her laugh softly and watched as she took my arm in hers. She was leading me away from the lads and into another room. This room had plush carpet. It was beige in colour and soft against my feet. There was a large television mounted above a fireplace in front of the biggest L shaped sofa I’d seen in a while. Places like this don’t exist. I frowned and placed myself down on the sofa next to her. She smiled up at me and I glanced as the room began to fill. Jay and Haz placed themselves on the floor along with a few other of the lads and Alfie.

“So where did you learn to play like that?” Alfie questioned and I shrugged.

“My mum knew I could sing when I was younger and I just started to play for fun and then I had a few lessons,” I stumbled on my words and tucked my hair behind my ear “I can play the guitar too.” I instantly regret saying anything and shut my eyes tightly. I heard Chloe chuckle a little and she nodded over towards Haz.

“He’s the same,” she flashed him a small smile and I watched as he frowned at her.

“I didn’t know,” I glanced over at him, he looked tired, his knee was being held by his arm and his head was resting on it. He looked young.

“I’m sure you didn’t.” He winked so that nobody else saw and my breathing stopped. A wave of heat cursed through my veins and I smirked to myself. “Do you need a ride home?” He questioned and my eyes darted towards Jay who shook his head.

“I can call my mum, it's okay. I’ll tell her I’ll be back late.” I stood and reached for my phone. Chloe placed her hand on top of mine softly.

“Stay here if you like? He shouldn’t really be driving,” she gestured towards Haz “and besides we have plenty of rooms spare.” I smiled and nodded.

“If you’re sure that’s okay?” I felt shy almost instantly before hearing Alfie.

“That’s fine Avaya. Chlo’s right, plenty of spare rooms.” His smile was so warm and I nodded towards him.

“Thank you, I’ll go and call her.” I picked up my phone and walked out of the room before I dialed my mum's number. It rang and rang and rang. Her voicemail activated and I began to speak. “Hey mum… I’m safe. I’m just staying over at a friend's house. I’ll be back in the morning I promise. Love you, bye.” I placed the phone down and rested my head against the door I was leaning against.

“You look tired?” The low voice I had grown to know was close to me and I opened my eyes to spot him stood leant against the stairwell.

“Hm, you could say that.” I smiled softly at him and watched as he took my hand in his.

“I’ll show you to a spare room,” I placed my hand in his and followed him up the wide stairwell to the second floor. The banister was glass. There were two sides; he took me towards the right and down a hallway before he leant to unlock the door. “There’s a main bathroom down there,” he pointed down the corridor before he opened up the spare room door. I gasped. Holy fuck! I entered the room and glanced around barely listening to him talking. “There’s an ensuite through there, the remote for the tele is on the side table…” I took in the surroundings and held my breath. The large king sized bed took pride of place in the center of the room, I ran my fingers against the white sheets. There was a large floor to ceiling length window across the back wall and I frowned. There was no sea view but fields. As far as my eyes could see.

“Who’s house is this?” I asked politely.

“It’s Alfie’s.” He smiled towards me and I nodded. Alfie? What does he do? I thought he worked behind the bar!? My question list seemed to be getting longer. “You alright now?” His eyebrows raised and I smiled softly.

“I was hoping I could ask you some questions?” I watched as his demeanor changed. He hardened as he nodded.

“Fire away.” His smile didn’t reach his eyes and I placed myself on one of the white armchairs that overlooked the back of the house.

“Why didn’t you tell them you’d already met me before that night at the bar?” I swallowed my nerves and watched as he made his way behind me. I glanced up towards him.

“It’s complicated.” I felt his fingers trace my shoulders and bit down on my lip. His touch was like fire.

“That wasn’t the answer I was hoping for.” My words came out as a whisper and I knew he was smiling. “Okay so why are you here now?” My eyes darted open as I felt his fingers leave my shoulders and rest either side of the chair that I was sat on. His gaze was intense. I watched as he swallowed, his Adam’s apple rose and fell.

“I can’t seem to stay away.” He whispered against my lips. My body’s reaction to him shocked me, my nipples tingled and my heart pounded. He leant further down towards me, running his nose over mine, I ran my hand up to his neck and held him there. I didn’t ever want him to move. His expression looked pained. I ran my thumb against the rough stubble on his cheek. “What do you want, Avaya?” I searched for a giveaway in the way he was looking at me but his eyes seemed darker than they ever had before, I wasn’t sure whether he was pissed off or something else but my voice didn’t seem to want to escape my lips. “What do you want?” His voice was gruff, almost carnivorous. I could feel a pool of warm between my legs and felt his lips brush against the corners of my mouth. “I won’t lay another finger on you unless you tell me what you want.” My breathing was irregular now.

“You,” I felt him smile against my cheek and I knelt up on the tiny arm chair so that I was facing him. I examined his face. He was intoxicating. I cleared my throat and stopped looking for a give away in his eyes. There was a static silence around us. You shouldn’t have moved. I squeezed my eyes together and cleared my throat before I tucked my hair behind my ear. I felt weightless, two hands wrapped themselves around me, I tucked my legs around his waist as he rested me against the cool window. He placed a kiss against my mouth. It wasn’t soft, it was full of need and I didn’t mind that. I pulled gently on his hair and heard a groan escape his mouth. Our kiss turned into a sloppy open mouthed kiss. He squeezed my thighs that he was holding and I arched my back slightly. He was strong, stronger than I’d given him credit for.

“This will happen once and once only.” His voice was a growl and I nodded frantically. I didn’t care if it was just once. I needed to feel what he was like. My eyes darted open as he pulled away from our kiss. “Once Holt.” I ran my nose against his again and placed a soft kiss against his lips. “Fuck” this wasn’t supposed to come out. He carried me from the window towards the bed. He placed me down softly and almost glared down at me. My dress straps were hanging off my shoulders and I knew my hair would be wild. I flushed red and watched as he dropped to his knees in front of where I was perched. I was supporting my weight with my arms but they didn’t feel strong enough, the warmth was escaping my body and I could feel it between my legs. I shook my head. His hands ran up the length of my thighs and I found myself throwing my head back to try and stop whatever sound was trying to escape from my mouth. His hands ran underneath the fabric of my dress towards where my knickers were, he pulled slightly as he leaned down and placed soft kisses against my inner thigh. “Take them off.” I did as he asked and rolled them down my legs slowly. I watched as the expression in his eyes changed again. They were hungry, for me. I gulped slowly and felt his stubble against my thigh again. My dress was around my waist now and this handsome specimen was between my legs. I suppressed a moan in my throat. “Lean back.” I let myself fall onto my forearms, my stomach was somersaulting. “Fuck you’re already wet.” I felt his finger trace the sides of my slit and bit down on my lip. His lips followed where his fingers had been. He moved his tongue around in circles, teasing me and it worked. I felt my body rise higher with every move of his mouth. The heat between my legs grew as he nibbled my clit. A moan escaped my lips. I felt his hands spread my legs wider and his tongue
slid inside me. The sensation had pushed me over the edge. I felt a wave of pleasure overcome me. I pulled slightly on the top of his hair and watched as he smirked up at me from between my legs. “Once Avaya.” He placed kisses against my thigh before he leant back over me to kiss my lips. I could taste myself on them and I placed my fingers against my lips.

“Once.” I muttered back to him. He kissed me again and then against my forehead. I closed my eyes as he did. It almost felt like he was saying goodbye. I pulled him slowly back down towards me on the bed and his eyes darted towards mine. I blushed. “But technically that wasn’t all of you.” I glanced down at his dick and watched as he smirked down at me. He shook his head and I watched as he stood, straightening out his shirt and glanced down at me lay on the bed.

“Good night Avaya.” His serious tone was back, my eyes followed him out of the room and I exhaled. Nancy and Sophia were right. I had no idea what I was missing and now I want to find out more. Shit! I shook my head and walked over towards the en-suite. The dark slate floors stretched for a while. The shower screen glass didn't cover much. I held onto the sides of the sink and steadied my breathing. Just once.

  Haz - Saturday

I watched her all night. I followed her to her room. The thought of her toned legs wrapped around my shoulders sent a shiver down my spine. I pictured her warm skin pressed against the cool glass, my mouth invading hers, the way her breathing slowed whenever I touched her and the sound she made while she was coming. I glanced down at the raging boner between my legs and chuckled to myself as I saw Missy next to me. She was passed out and I shook my head. I didn’t remember that part of the night. It should have been Avaya there. I remembered her voice. It was like nothing I’d ever heard before. She had the whole place on their knees, including me. I smirked to myself and hauled myself out of bed. Get a grip. I knew I shouldn’t have touched her. I knew it was forbidden. She was completely off limits. I looked at the man in the mirror who was looking back at me and I ran my hand over the back of my neck and cracked it. I let a groan escape my mouth. I reached to turn on the shower. She’s forbidden Haz don’t do it again. I pulled on my sweatpants and let them drop to the floor. As I climbed in the heat of the water trickled down my back. It reminded me of the warmth of her skin. If Jay finds out what you did you’ll be dead. So dead. I watched as Chlo walked in and ushered me out of the shower. I ran my eyes over her figure.

“You’re looking straight through me? You’ve seen this before?” Her eyes were warmer now as the water dripped down her back. She was right. I had seen her like this. Many times before. But she wasn’t the girl I wanted naked in my shower. I shook my head. “Avaya seemed nice?” I nodded and suppressed my smile. She tasted nice too. I glanced at Chlo in the shower who was staring at me. “You don’t like her do you?” She looked disappointed.

“I don’t know her.” I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my waist. Chloe’s eyes danced down my body and I shook my head. “Do you like her?” I asked. Her face twisted as she nodded.

“Yeah I think she’s sweet. Jay was right about her voice. I keep thinking about it.” She chuckled a little and I smiled to myself. I wish that was the only thing I kept thinking about.

“Do you know if she’s awake yet?” The sound of the shower stopped and I watched Chlo climb out. She nodded and reached to touch my arm before her brow lowered.

“Haz,” she paused and her expression was sad. This wasn’t the Chlo I knew “please don’t get in her head? She seems sweet and she doesn’t need to be dragged into our world.” I felt a stab of guilt in my gut. I shouldn’t have crossed the line last night but I’ve known since the second I bumped into her at that gym I needed her. Just once. I shook my head. It wasn’t going to be just once. I had got the taste of her now. I was hungry for her. I needed to feel her. All of her. “Oh my god you haven’t, have you!?” Her eyes were wide and I landed back in the room.

“What?” She glanced down at my dick and I shook my head.

“Fuck sake Chlo no I haven’t! When would I have even done that?” She exhaled deeply, her chest caved in when she looked at me again.

“Good. Stay away from her. You know she’s off limits…” She pushed her finger in the middle of my chest and I caught her hand.

“What about just once?” Her perfect eyebrows shifted and she shook her head.

“It’s never just once with you.” She placed her lips against my hand and sighed as she walked out. We were supposed to happen just once. That didn’t ever stop. It had lately. There was a shift in our dynamic. I groaned and walked towards my wardrobe. I pulled up my sweatpants and a baggy navy jumper. My veins hurt. It was almost time for the come down. I rubbed the crease in my arm and shook my head. I found myself knocking on her door. What are you doing? I leant against the inside of her door and watched as she struggled to pull a pair of jeans over her ass. Her underwear was white lace and somehow it made her skin look darker in colour. My stomach fluttered and I watched as she made eye contact with me.

“Oh hey,” she smiled sweetly at me and I made my way closer into the room. Her dark unruly hair was draped over her breasts and I moved it. I ran my fingers against her chest and watched as her eyes fluttered open and shut. “How long were you stood watching me struggle?” I watched her full lips rise upwards and smiled too.

“Not long enough.” I muttered against her lips and felt her hands rest against my chest. The burning sensation in my veins was getting stronger and I squeezed my eyes shut. “Any plans today?” I didn’t know why I was trying to make small talk, I enjoyed standing like this with her and tilted my head when her eyes glanced at my lips.

“I have a class later,” her voice trailed off “a dance class, I mean.” Her eyes didn’t move off my lips and I grinned.

“Will you be wearing my hoodie?” I raised my eyebrow slightly at her and she smirked as she shrugged.

“Only if some idiot bumps into me and knocks water over my other one.” She winked at me as she moved from out of my grasp and I laughed. She was whitty too. Fuck you’re in trouble. She leant towards the bed to place her a grey t-shirt on and I frowned. “I should get going?” She smiled towards me and I nodded.

“Enjoy your class.” My voice seemed level and carefree. I wanted to tell her to stay here, I wanted to peel that thin grey t-shirt off her but I stood watching her as she gathered her things. The room almost as though she was never here.

“See you around Vens.” She placed a peck against my cheek and I pulled her arm softly so that I could pull her into me. Her sea green eyes looked playful and I placed a kiss against her lips. It stung. I cupped the side of her neck with my hand and I was sure I heard a moan. I released her and left the room. I jogged slightly towards the kitchen where Jay and Alfie were standing. Jay nodded at me and I smiled widely. I’d hide what we did from him. It’d be better that way.

I noticed Jay’s eyes soften as he looked behind me. She must have made her way down the stairs.

“Thanks for letting me stay, but I’m going to get off now.” Her voice seemed level and I smirked to myself.

“That’s fine, we’ve got some stuff to be getting on with anyway.” He smiled at her. It was a soft one and I coughed trying to hold in my laugh. I guessed she nodded at him as I heard the door open and close behind her.

“I like her?” Alfie smiled to himself, I watched Jay give him a cool look and know my expression was the same simply because of Chloe’s laugh. It echoed around the kitchen.

“Jesus Christ look at you all… Like puppies.” I frowned and pushed her shoulder as I walked past her. Jay was leant on the kitchen island with a massive smirk on his face.

“She’s under your skin like she’s under mine yeah?” I shook my head at him. If only you knew mate. His brown eyes were soppy looking and I exhaled. “You’re proper lying.” He flashed his teeth at me and pretty much skipped down the hall towards the lounge. I shook my head and glanced at Chloe. She shrugged too and I leant back against the island a
nd shook my head. I’ve made a massive mistake.

  Holt - Sunday

My feet couldn’t have moved quicker if I wanted them too. It was kind of Chloe to lend her clothes and her underwear to me. She looked normal this morning before I was interrupted again by him. My heart thudded at the thought of him. I shook away flashing images of him looking up at me from between my legs.

I got home in record time, my mum was waiting for me and she looked pissed off.

“Where did you go last night?” Her tone was serious, her arms were crossed against her chest and I grimaced. How am I supposed to lie to her?

“I just stayed with some friends from Uni.” She raised her eyebrow at me and gave me a look. I knew that look. “Remember that I’m nearly 21 mum.” Her face instantly softened as she leant forward and placed a kiss against my head.

“I know I’m sorry you know what I’m like, I worry,” I pulled away from her grasp and nodded “you’re all I have and I like to keep you safe.” Safe. There was that word again. I felt safe around him. Though I was probably far from it. I wanted the answers to my questions but none of them would give anything away.

“I know I’m sorry… I don’t mean to worry you,” she smiled weakly in my direction. I glanced behind her to notice her laptop was paused on a word document. “I’ll leave you be, I was just going to see if Soph wanted to go out shopping today.” I watched as she picked up her cup full of tea and disappeared across the room toward her computer.

“That sounds like a nice day.” I smiled to myself and jogged up my steep stairs towards my room.

I flopped myself back on my bed and began to check my Facebook. Alfie’s bar ‘The Top Hat’ had tagged me in some photos from last night singing. It had 100’s of comments from punters who attended. I felt my heart pound louder in my chest and I swiped across to my messages.

  Avaya: Come shopping?

I waited for what seemed like an eternity for a reply.

Soph: I’m sorry I can't Nace ruined me last night. :(
