“Yeah, what’s that?”
“What’s your actual name?”
I tense up as she opens the door sliding the tank top over her olive-toned stomach. Her hair’s down in chocolate waves flowing around her shoulders, and she looks fucking stunning. I’ve seen her in nothing but a maid’s outfit and baggy clothing, but now she looks—all woman.
Shit!
She stands in the doorway, the light from the bathroom glowing behind her looking like a fucking angel as it highlights around her head. Swallowing hard, I try to contain my raging boner as she looks at me furrowing her brow. “Aero?”
I clear my throat, grabbing a pillow from her bed and placing it over my crotch. She cocks her head as she watches me trying to figure out what’s going on as I attempt to play it cool. “What?”
She giggles.
Fuck!
Her giggle kills me… Every. Damn. Time.
“I asked what your actual name is. Are you drunk?”
With a shake my head, I snap out of it. “Right. The thing is… I think we should stick to Aero for now.”
She slumps her body flicking off the light in the bathroom. My eyes fog a little adjusting to the dim lighting as I blink a few times to right them while she walks into the room. “You still don’t trust me…” she throws her hands in the air, “… típico!”
She adds a word in at the end in Spanish which I think is ‘typical,’ and all it does is ignite the fire inside of me. Whenever she talks in her native tongue, it lights the fire blazing inside my body. I fucking love hearing her talk like that. “It’s not that I don’t trust you, it’s biker code. And my president might actually chop my balls off.”
She smirks, it’s mischievous. “If you had any,” she murmurs under her breath, a hint of playfulness about her.
I stand up dropping the pillow to the ground not even caring that she’s now staring at my obvious hard-on as I storm over to her. She doesn’t budge, standing firm as I grab her by the waist pulling her to me. She squeals slightly as her body flushes against mine. Her hands instantly find their way to my chest as her stunning brown doe eyes stare at me in awe.
“Don’t ever talk to me like that again, Estella.”
Her breaths are coming in short and shallow. I know she’s affected by this like I am. She swallows noticeably then the corner of her lip turns up. “You don’t scare me, Aero.”
My eye twitches in anger as I spin her around, my hand forcing her into the wall by the bathroom. Her head turns to the side as I grind into her back while holding her against the wall. My cock’s so hard I can hardly fucking think. Her breathing is so fast it’s all I hear in the silence of the room as I lean in against her ear. “Calm your sass, little spitfire, or I’ll force you to remember who the boss is around here.” I grind my cock into her ass, and she lets out a husky whimper as her hands on the wall ball into fists. Tension ripples through the air along with an intoxicating energy—the one that always ignites when I’m around her. It’s getting too much, so I slowly pull away letting her go as I step back releasing her. She slides off the wall, turning around to face me. I can’t help but notice her nipples are taut and poking through her tank top, and her eyes are alight with either desire or rage, I can’t quite tell which one as she stares me down.
No matter what, I can’t let this woman leave this club. I can’t let her be taken out either. I need her here, and I need her alive. I just hope she sees sense in all this and pulls her head out of her ass.
“You need to let the drug deal and abduction go, Estella.”
She stands up taller glaring at me. “You need to let me be free, so I can check on my family. They’ve been a month without me, Aero!”
Little does she know the day she came in here, I found out who her family was and have been sending them money from my own pocket so they wouldn’t go without—half out of guilt, half so it wouldn’t raise any more suspicion with her not calling them.
I think I know a way around both situations, but I’m not sure how she might take it. “Estella, I have a proposition for you.”
She raises her brow as I gesture for the bed. She huffs striding past me walking over and taking a seat. I make my way across and slide in next to her. Our thighs make contact, and she looks down to our touching bodies as she folds her arms over her chest.
“Well… hurry up,” she simply instructs, and I chuckle. For someone who’s being held captive, she sure has large lady balls.
“We have club girls here,” I tell her.
She takes a deep breath looking at me like she’s concerned with where this is going. “Ah-huh, I saw them when you dragged me in here.”
I look away from her because even though I feel like this might be her only option, the thought of it kinda makes my skin crawl. “We will pay for your family to come over to Michigan. We’ll help them get set up. We’ll give you money, anything you want…”
Lines appear on her forehead as she takes a deep breath. “That all sounds really great, though, I feel there’s a damn catch.”
Rolling my shoulders, I look into her eyes. “You would have to stay at the club. Live here… as a club girl—”
“I am not a whore!” She yells it so loudly it grates my ears, and then she lunges at me, her hands come out slapping at me like kids do where they’re play fighting. But Estella is far from play fighting as her nails scratch at my skin.
I try to grab at her hands, but she’s all over me while she screams out in visible anger. I’m taken aback in shock as she pushes me off the bed. I fall to the floor on my back with her on top of me as she tries with all her might to strangle me. I smirk because I’m actually enjoying this. I love her feisty attitude, but she doesn’t see the funny side.
“Stop smiling at me you pedazo de mierda!” she yells.
I grab her arms and swing her over, so I’m now on top of her on the floor while I pin her struggling hands to the carpet.
She grunts, wriggling against me, the friction of her pussy against my cock is making me hard again, and I see in her eyes the moment she feels my erection. Her eyes harden, and she shakes her head trying like fury to get out of the hold I have on her, while I chuckle continuing to pin her to the floor with all my might.
“Stop struggling, Estella.”
“Vete a la mierda!” she spits at me in Spanish.
I can just imagine what that means.
So, I do the only thing I can think of. I lean down, forcing my lips to hers to make her stop struggling.
But the moment I kiss her, something happens.
I can’t explain it.
I can’t understand it.
Fuck!
I don’t even know what the hell to call it, but something inside of me shifts. She stops struggling instantly, her body going completely limp as her lips move up to meet mine. Her mouth opens slightly, just infinitesimally, but it’s enough for my tongue to sneak in, and I take full advantage. The moment I do, it’s as if something in her breaks. Her walls come tumbling down, and she opens up to me, kissing me back like this could be her last moment on earth. It ignites a blaze inside of me, and it only wants me to keep her alive even more. I don’t know how yet, but somehow I’m going to get Estella out of this mess.
I pull back as I end the kiss. Her eyes lock on mine, and for once, she doesn’t hit me with a witty retort. So, I talk first. “You’re not even close to a whore, Estella.”
She smiles at me. “Thank you. But I can’t be a club girl, Aero. I… I can’t.”
Nodding, I exhale. “I’ll find another way.”
Her eyes focus on mine so intensely it’s almost startling. “Why are you so intent on saving my life?”
My chest squeezes as I breathe a little heavier. I hesitate and take a shallow breath as I look into her eyes. “That kiss is why.”
Her eyes light up as I stand abruptly, letting her go. She stays on the floor as I head for the door, not looking back, slamming it shut behind me as I pant heavily leaning against the ot
her side of the door.
I just admitted I have a weakness for her.
I should never have done that.
She can now use it against me.
I’m a fucking idiot.
Chapter Six
AERO
Storming down into the clubrooms, I can still taste her on my lips. She tastes like fucking heaven, and that kiss was everything I’ve been dreaming about for the last month since I brought her here. I have to admit, I didn’t go in there with the intention of kissing her. But now that it’s happened, I’m not sure what the next time I see her will be like. Will it be awkward? Fucking hell, Aero, grow some damn balls. Who cares if it is awkward.
Shaking my head at my inner teenage boy, I waltz into the main clubroom to see everyone’s here sitting at the tables, drinking, chatting, the general hubbub of a Wednesday evening. I know we have a ride tomorrow, so I make my way over to Crest to see what’s the go. Plonking down on the bench seat next to my president, he looks up to me as he takes a long drink of something from his silver stein.
“You good to ride with us tomorrow, Aero?” he asks.
I scrunch my brows wondering why in the hell he would even ask me that. “What? Of course, I am. Why would you ask that?”
He grunts, tilting his head. “Your time spent with star girl. Wouldn’t want you shirking your responsibilities and duties for her.”
I let out a huff. “Someone has to look after her, and her name is fucking Estella, not star girl. Plus, you didn’t have a problem with me hanging out with women when it was your daughter, Mylee.”
His head snaps toward me, and he frowns. “That’s different, and you know it, Aero. Mylee made her damn choice. She moved on, she’s happy now, and you need to accept that, not distract yourself with a new project.”
I scoff. “That’s not what Estella is. She’s not a project, Crest. She’s not a replacement for Mylee either. I know Mylee’s gone, I know she isn’t coming back. But I’m okay, and Estella and I have some kind of… fuck, I don’t know.”
Crest looks at me, crease lines appearing on his forehead as he assesses me. “You like her.” It’s not a question, it’s a statement, and I sit back in the chair and exhale.
“I don’t think we need to kill her. Like I’ve said all along, I think she can be turned. I’m pretty damn close.”
He rubs his hand over his gray-bearded chin, his nostrils flaring. “Jesus Christ, kid, haven’t you heard of Stockholm syndrome? If she’s feelin’ anything for you, it’s because of that shit. If you’re feelin’ anything for her, it’s because you’re a fucking idiot!”
Anger swarms through me as I go to reply, but before I can, loud bangs echo through the clubhouse. It takes me a second to register what’s going on when something flies past my face.
Then it clicks.
It’s fucking bullets.
My eyes open wide as I grab Crest, pulling him to the ground while I watch all my brothers, old ladies, and club girls all drop to the floor as the bullets continue to fly in from outside. Some fucker’s doing a drive-by. The sound of the bullets ricocheting through the metal is almost deafening as we all cover our ears waiting for it to end.
The final bullet lands in the clubhouse, and almost in unison, we’re up. I grab my gun from my jeans as I click the bullet into the chamber.
“Men, mount up. We don’t know what or who is coming through those doors but be ready,” Crest calls out as we all aim for the front door leading into the clubhouse. My heart’s pummeling in my chest. We weren’t expecting an attack on home soil, but then again, you never expect one when it’s coming.
The club girls all scamper down the hall to their rooms along with the old ladies—they know the protocol. Women don’t fight here.
Sniffing, I glance to Dux and Grim. They both run over by the front entry standing either side of the door waiting to take out the first invaders. But a bang sounds from the back of the room, and we all turn to see the back door being blown off its hinges.
Fuck.
We all turn to watch as the Mortem Crew run in. I don’t hesitate as I bring my gun up aiming it high as I run for the supporting beam in the middle of the clubhouse. I take cover as the bullets start flying. The echoing gunfire rings in my ears as plaster from the concrete beside me bursts off bouncing in all directions. I grind my teeth as I watch my brothers taking cover in various parts of the clubhouse as I wait for my moment. I watch a Mortem member rushing off toward Motley, who’s down behind the bar, so I aim right at him. My gun pulls back with the discharge, the bullet flying straight and hitting the motherfucker in the back of his head. Blood spurts out all over the woodgrain as he falls forward, face planting into the wooden top, and slides to the floor in what looks like a brush of red paint smeared down the front of the bar.
Motley peeks out from behind the bar, his shaggy blond hair and goofy smile let me know he’s enjoying this a little too much as he winks at me, then stands up, unloading two rounds at another two Mortem members heading right for him. Both rounds hit their targets as they fall straight to the floor.
I shift to the other side of the beam slightly, glancing out to see Crest in a wrestling match with Isaac. My skin prickles as Isaac has him pinned to the floor. I take a breath risking it as I run out from behind the beam over to Crest. Bullets whoosh past me at high speed forcing me to run even faster as one skims my arm. The searing hot friction of pain makes me stumble slightly, but I keep moving as I reach Isaac and tackle him to the ground forcing him off Crest. We roll twice as he grunts and groans with the force as I land on top of him. I bring my hand back and punch him square in the jaw once before a gun appears next to my face and fires. The bang resonates next to my ear sending a shockwave through my very soul. My eyes can’t help but look down to see Isaac’s face half-missing, blood and his brain matter splattered on the floor in a bizarre pattern. I shake my head bringing my hand to my right ear as Crest grabs my cut hoisting me up.
He looks into my eyes. I can’t hear him properly as he mouths something to me. The ringing in my ears is still too fucking loud, so I try to read his lips. “You good?” I think I see him say. I nod as he slaps my back while we rush behind some now overturned metal chairs. I pull my gun up and aim it at some more motherfuckers, my arm a little shaky. My head’s still spinning from the explosive gunfire next to my ear as I take a shot at a Mortem member, it hits, but it lands in his shoulder making him spin and look in my direction. He unloads a round of bullets my way, the ammunition sparking off the steel, fractures of debris fly past my eyes as I wince trying to fold in on myself to avoid being hit. This is a shit show, and these fuckers are going to pay. I haven’t seen Henderson yet. Hell, he’s probably not even here knowing him. Sure, we haven’t settled from the drug deal gone south in the hotel room where I met Estella, but this? This shit is not how you resolve things.
The bullets stop raining down around us, and I know I’m low on ammunition, but the Mortems are low on men. We’re slowly taking them out, one by one, there’s more of us here than there are of them. They didn’t account for all of us being here, I guess. Dickheads. I slide up from my position and take aim at another Mortem, just as I watch one of them running off down the hall.
My heart leaps up in my throat.
The old ladies are down there.
The club girls are down there.
Estella is fucking down there!
I burst up from my position, my hearing slightly coming back from the ringing that had taken over. I hear more gunfire, the men yelling. I hear Crest calling out my name, but I don’t look back. I don’t hesitate, and I don’t falter as I run through the thick of it. Bullets flying past me. I have faith in my brothers. There’s only a couple of Mortems left, and as I run down the hall, I see another one fall. They will be taken care of soon. I just need to sort the one out who’s down the hall with a plan to do God knows what to our women.
I enter the hall to the sleeping quarters, then I see it.
Estella’s
door is wide open.
The lock on the floor.
My stomach twists while my feet carry me faster than I thought humanly possible as I run down to her room. I burst through the entry to see her on the bed trying to fight the motherfucker off her. Her hands scratch and claw at him as he attempts to strangle her. A low growl erupts from my chest as I rush in, grabbing the man’s shirt and yanking him off her. He falls to the floor as I land on top of him and lay a fist into his face. His nose cracks as he lets out an “oomph,” blood pissing from his nostrils.
He finds the strength to roll us over as he lands a punch into my ribs making me gasp as he wrestles with me on the floor. His other hand comes up, punching me right in the ear that Crest shot the gun next to. The shockwave rattles me, and I fall to the floor, my head dazed as he gets up and starts to run.
Estella bends down to me, and seeing her watery eyes is all I need to get my head back in the game. I focus my mind, nodding to her as I jolt up and take off after him racing into the hall. He hasn’t gotten far as I pull out my gun and fire off a single round, it hits him in the lower back making him fall forward. He face plants onto the floor as I stroll up to him. I use my foot to roll him over as he groans looking up at me, fear in his eyes.
“This is for touching what’s mine,” I tell him, then I pull my gun up and shoot him fair between the eyes. Smoke wafts out of my gun barrel as the single bullet wound trickles with blood.
The hairs on the back of my neck stand up as my skin prickles in goosebumps. I turn around to see Estella standing at the edge of her door looking at me. She swallows hard staring at the dead body below me.
Shit.
Chapter Seven
AERO
Now she’s seen a drug deal, been involved in a kidnapping, and been witness to a murder. I step toward her fully expecting her to step back, run, but she doesn’t. If anything she looks at me like I’m her knight in shining fucking armor. Her eyes glisten as I step in front of her. She could make a run for it. Her door is finally open, and yet, she’s looking at me like that.
