Walk Off (Double Play Series Book 5) Page 10

by Nicole Rodrigues

We walk inside and meet some of the other guys with their girls and I grab a water bottle from the bar and sit, remembering not too long ago when Devin, Damon, Bella, Lacey and I went to one of these places back in Houston. The Lonestar’s were playing Miami, so I made a weekend out of it. After the game, the girls deciding to take the trip too, right before the stupid bet came out and everything went to shit.

  ----

  Two years ago...July

“Go sing baby!” Bella yells smacking Damon’s butt.

“Bella June, you are so sloppy right now,” he laughs kissing her on the lips.

“I’ll get sloppy if ya want, big guy,” she says sexily.

  “Disgustin’!” Devin complains.

I laugh and Lacey grabs my crotch under the table.

“Sing to me, Hulk. I’ll make it worth your while,” she whispers in my ear.

“Oh yeah? I need to know the prize, Blondie. That’s pretty nerve wracking going up there serenading a hardass like yourself.”

“How about this?” she says in my ear, climbing into my lap.

She rocks her hips into me, and I groan, wanting so badly to just unzip my damn pants and fuck her right here.

  “What?”

“How about you shove this Hulk down my throat,” she says putting her hand in between us and grabbing my crotch. “And mini Hulk in my pussy.”

“Shit, Lacey. You expect me to sing now, with a hard-on like this?” I groan pushing up into her.

“Your choice big guy but make it soon. I may have dripped a little on your jeans,” she laughs.

She falls off my lap on the booth and I shake my head getting quickly to my feet, adjusting myself in front of everyone but I don’t really care. They know how Lacey and I are, they’ve probably seen us much worse.

“Your serenade awaits m’lady,” I say winking at her.

I walk up to the DJ and tell him the song I want to sing, grabbing the microphone and getting to the stage.

“This song is for my beautiful, yet crazy girl sitting in the corner over there. She gave me a pretty tempting offer to get up here and sing a song for her, so bear with me. I’m doing this with a boner and trying not to picture her promises in my head, so here we go.”

The audience laughs as the music starts up, Dierks Bentley’s, ‘Woman, Amen’.

I start to sing the words, walking around the stage, realizing that I’m two sheets to the wind and I probably am making some people cringe. I’m a terrible singer but looking at Lacey’s smile in the booth makes it worth it. She slides out of the booth getting to her feet and I jump off the stage coming closer to her.

I get down on my knees in front of her and grab the back of her thigh as I sing the next words, her laughter filling my heart.

“Every night, I should be on my knees

Lord knows how lucky I am,

  I'll never say near enough

Thank God for this woman, Amen”

“Oh, you’re gonna be on your knees tonight, Hulk,” Lacey says loudly through the microphone.

Everyone laughs again as I continue to sing, Lacey’s hand running through the back of my head.

  “She gives me faith

  She gives me grace

  She gives me hope

  She gives me strength

  She gives me love

  Love without end

Thank God for this woman, Amen!”

I click the button to turn off the mic as I drop it to the floor, lifting her in my arms and walking us towards the back hallway, everyone clapping. I press her back against the wall, our lips sloppily crashing together, our hands drifting underneath our shirts, feeling each other like uncontrollable teenagers.

“You sing so beautiful,” she slurs.

“I suck,” I laugh as my hand comes down on her breast.

“No, I suck,” she says wiggling her eyebrows.

She untangles her legs and pulls my hand into the bathroom, shutting the door behind us, dropping to her knees and freeing me out of my jeans.

“Jesus, Lacey, I...I’m already so close.”

She wraps her lips around me, her hand pumping me into her mouth, her other hand gripping my balls. My hand goes behind her head, pushing her hair out of her face as I glance down and watch her. Her small hand barely making it halfway around my shaft, her mouth only covering my head.

I’m the hardest I’ve ever been but she pushes down further, taking more and more into her mouth and I feel her gag. She pulls back, taking a breath and I take both my hands to wrap around her cheeks.

“Slow baby, I’m almost there,” I groan.

She goes back to my erection, licking underneath, up and down. Kissing around my shaft, running her puffy lips up and down my length and it feels so fucking good, it relaxes me.

“God like that, just like that.”

Her hands wrap around the bottom of me, her lips continuing their assault and I feel it coming and try to pull back.

She covers my head with her mouth, taking me to the back of her throat as she swallows down my release, and I lean my head back against the wall, eyes closed.

“Who knew karaoke night would be so fun,” she smirks getting to her feet.

“Let’s go home. I’m far from done with you, Blondie.”

“Oh I know, Hulk. Down on your knees every night, remember?”

  ----

  “Nico?”

“Yeah, yeah, sorry, what did you say man?” I ask Ryan.

“I said, how is everything back home? Lacey good? The baby?”

“Yeah. Baby is good. We go to the doctor to find out the sex when I get back. We uh...we’re still trying to work everything out.”

“I got a question for you man. Did you ever talk to Lance?”

“Lance? Why would I talk to Lance?” I ask confused.

“He was with you that night.”

“I...he was? I only remember Tatum and Josh being there.”

“No man, he was with you. Bragging to everyone that he got your sloppy seconds when you were done with her. You don’t remember that?”

“No. Shit. Hey, let me make a call, hang out?”

  “I’ll be here.”

I grab my phone walking out to the back patio and dial Lance. It rings a few times and he finally picks up.

“Lance, let me ask you something,” I say quickly.

  “What’s up?”

“That night back a few weeks ago. Were you at the club with Tatum, me and Josh?”

“Yeah man! I was sitting right next to you.”

“Jesus Christ. Why the fuck didn’t you tell me! I’ve been grilling Tatum and Josh, but I don’t remember anything after I went to the bathroom and they lost me. What the fuck happened?”

“I’m a little fuzzy but the girl’s name was Drea. She was so good man, I was getting hard just watchin’ her with you. Then she hopped off you and rode me, Goddddd she was somethin’. I went back a couple more times for her, she’s the fucking one.”

My stomach drops hearing his words.

  “Lance...did I...did I fuck her?”

“Not sure. I was pretty drunk. I remember her riding you like a bull, but I don’t know if your dick was out. Mine was though, go talk to her. They don’t drink, she’ll remember.”

I hang up the phone and turn to the side, over the railing and puke everything out of my body. I had to be on drugs. There was no fucking way in hell I would have let some woman ride my dick and then hop on Lance. I wouldn’t fuck someone in front of people like that, no matter how drunk I was. Dammit.

I walk back inside to tell Ryan that I’m heading out and drive over to the club we were at that night. I walk to the bar and ask around for Drea. They recognize me, the pity in their eyes.

When word got out about my infidelity of course the media stalked Lacey. Quickly the media found out she was pregnant, and it’s been all over the place. Woman scorned by Nico Johnson’s playboy ways. Poor single mother, Lacey Turner.

  “Just a seco
nd,” says the woman behind the bar.

“Hey,” says a soft voice from behind me.

I turn around and meet the eyes of a woman, a young woman with blonde hair and sad eyes. She’s biting her lip with worry and I’m assuming this is the girl.

  “Drea?” I ask.

  She nods.

“Can we talk?” I ask her.

She nods again and motions to the back. She’s in a robe so I’m sure she was in the middle of working but they saw the look in my eyes and probably pulled her.

“There’s security cameras in here,” she says opening a door as I follow her inside.

“I’m not gonna hurt you, Drea,” I say with determination.

“My real name is Alessandra and I didn’t mean that, I just...so you know I won’t...I’m not gonna do anything with you,” she stutters.

I nod taking a seat across from her.

“I should have done this sooner but I’m trying to clean up the mess I left in Louisiana first and I didn’t know where to start. I didn’t know your name.”

“How did you find out?” she asks sitting down on the couch.

“My friend Lance said he comes to see you. I didn’t even know I was with him.”

“You were...really out of it to be honest,” she says shaking her head.

“What happened that night Alessandra? I need to know everything. Did we...did I fuck you? Did I do anything with you?”

“I can’t talk about this. The man that...I don’t remember what happened.”

She’s lying and I grit my teeth trying not to get angry with her.

“Alessandra, I need to know this. You ruined my fucking life, the least you can do is tell me the truth.”

She flinches at my tone and for a second I feel bad.

“He’ll hurt me, he’ll hurt my...I can’t,” she says wiping a tear from her eye.

  Dammit.

“I need to know the truth. No one is going to hurt you, okay? No one. Trust me when I say, if you can help me figure this out, nothing will happen to you.”

She exhales and shakes her head.

“Nothin’ happened between us. You didn’t do anything, we didn’t do anything.”

I let out a breath and I swear I feel like crying. Thank God.

  “Tell me everything you can.”

She nods and continues. “You were sitting in the booth, almost unconscious. I went to tap you to make sure you were okay, and a man came over, saying he would pay me to sit on your lap so he could take a picture. I said I didn’t do that. I don’t get pictures taken of me but...the money was good. I didn’t...I didn’t know you had a girlfriend or any of this was going to happen. I don’t watch sports and I really didn’t know who you were. I just do this to put food on the table. I have a son, he’s two and…”

She starts crying and I walk over to the couch and put my hand on her shoulder, reaching to the side for a tissue and hand it to her.

“It was a lot of money that he offered to pay me. I could afford so much with that, and I wouldn’t have to do anything sexual for it, which was a bonus. I...I don’t like doing this, but I don’t have a choice right now. I’m trying to finish school and pay back a debt…”

She trails off crying again and I pull her to me, soothing her. It’s so ironic that I’m soothing the woman that has single handedly ruined my life, but also just put it all back together.

“He told me to take my bra off and just sit there, he positioned your hands and your head was already back against the booth. It looked like we were...ya know.”

I nod and she shakes her head.

“He took a couple of pictures, he said the front of me wouldn’t be in them, I didn’t want my face or breasts to show. I mean I do this in here, but I try to leave it at the door on my way out.”

I nod my head in understanding, pushing her to continue.

“I was still reluctant until he threatened me and my son. He told me not to say anything and if I ever did, he would come back here with my son and kill him. Make me watch and then kill me too. Then he took his pictures and left a bag of cash in my locker.”

She’s crying again and I hand her another tissue from the box.

“I saw the story the next day and then when I found out your girlfriend was pregnant, I...I’m so sorry. I had no idea that was going to happen and I wanted to try and tell you it wasn’t true, but I couldn't.”

“Do you remember anything about the guy or what happened to me after the pictures? I ended up at home and I have no idea how.” I say getting to my feet.

“You stayed sleeping for a while. Your friend Lance tried to wake you after we...after we were finished...but when you didn’t, he left. You were still in the same spot while I was getting ready to leave but when I came back out with my things, you were gone. I don’t know what happened, but you never touched anyone in here. I don’t know what happened when you left.”

“Well as vague as that is, I’m happy nothing happened with you. I don’t know if my girl will believe me but at least I know. God, I would never do this to her, what the fuck!” I yell.

“I...I don’t think you were drunk,” she says getting to her feet quickly.

  “What do you mean?”

“The man that took the pictures. He...he kept checking your pulse on your wrist. He looked, panicked. He made me take the pictures really fast and kept looking around. I think he...I think he did something to you.”

“What did this guy look like, can you describe him? If I put you on the phone with someone, can you give him every detail you remember?”

“Mr. Johnson I really shouldn’t have even told you all of that, he’ll-”

“He won’t, Alessandra. I’m going to keep you and your son safe.”

She nods tightening her robe again and I reach in my back pocket for my phone dialing Miguel then handing the phone to her, instructing her to tell him everything she told me.

I pace around the room, wondering how I can backtrack what happened after I left the club. Conveniently, the cameras out front were down, so I hope Miguel has a plan now that we know more information.

“Here,” Alessandra says handing my phone back to me.

“Miguel, I need a big favor from you,” I say through the phone.

“What is it? You’re rackin’ them up big guy.”

“You may have some house guests, do you have room for two more?”

  “Really? Come on man I-”

“She helped me, Miguel. I would die if something happened to her. Please. If Lacey finds out I’m letting this woman and her son stay at Damon’s old apartment in Louisiana with me, all this info will mean nothing. She’ll bury me. Please,” I beg.

“Okay fine. The kid better not keep me up though. I like my sleep.”

“You have a niece or nephew on the way, think of it as practice,” I say smiling.

He mumbles a whatever and I hang up the phone and turn back around.

“Listen, can I...how many more years do you have in school?” I ask her.

“I have one more semester. It’s an online course and it’s about twelve weeks.”

“What kind of job are you looking to get?”

“I’ll have a marketing degree when I’m done.”

I laugh and shake my head. Of course she will. Lacey isn’t gonna like this, but I have no choice. I dragged Alessandra into this, now I need to get her out.

“Why are you in Florida, do you have family here or something?”

“No, it’s just me and Peter. I grew up here and I just...I really couldn't leave.”

“Well, pack your things, you’re going to stay with me the rest of the week and then we’re heading to Louisiana. I’m not leaving you here, you helped me, now I’m helping you. My car is out front. Get dressed.”

  “I...Mr. Johnson I-”

  “Nico. It’s Nico.”

“Nico, I can’t just...I...I can’t allow you to do that.”

“You didn’t have to tell me what you just did. Pack your
stuff, I’ll talk to Michael about your last paycheck and we’ll go to your apartment.”

“I...I need to work this week. Like I said I have a debt to pay and I-”

“Do you like doing this?” I ask motioning to the door.

  “No,” she says quietly.
