Josie gave him a slow smile.

The wench! She knew exactly what she had done to his blood pressure.

“Sam, you look hot,” Becca said.

That was the point when Josie realized she’d been staring.

“Sam, don’t you think that Josie looks nice?” Sarah asked.

“Go away, girls,” Sam growled as he pulled Josie into his arms. She meant to say something, but then he was kissing her, and she forgot everything.

  He was hot.

“God, Josie, you make me lose my mind.” Sam rested his forehead against hers.

“You clean up very well, Mr. Booth.” Josie was proud of how she’d kept her voice level.

“Josie,” Chance, pulled her out of Sam’s arms. “You’re gorgeous. You look like a movie star. Who did your hair?”

“Sarah and Becca did my hair and make-up.” She frowned up at him. “I found this necklace around the hangar. It’s beautiful. Sarah thought it was actually rubies. It’s not, is it?” She stroked the stones in the intricate design.

“Fuck if I know. It could be. Could be garnets. It just looked really pretty to go with the dress and the salesgirl recommended it.”

  Sam chuckled.

  “How could you not know?”

“How could you not know that he would not know?” Sam asked. “Come on, let’s go sit down next to Butch and Betty.”

As they walked to their table, Josie was amazed at how the community center had been transformed. It looked like an indoor garden. As they made their way to the table, she saw her sisters dancing with Dane and Eric. They looked beautiful in the dresses that Chance had picked out for them. It was really scary how good they looked dancing with the two handsome firefighters.

Chance tugged her clutch out of her hand and set it on the table. “Let’s dance.”

For a moment Josie thought it might look odd that the three of them were dancing, but then she saw four different triads out on the dance floor.

  I love Fate Harbor.

She danced three slow dances with Sam and Chance, enveloped by the warmth of the two of them. She kept an eye on her sisters, happy to see that they were dancing with men other than Dane and Eric.

The band started a swing song.

“I think I’ll let Chance take over,” Sam said. He kissed Josie and squeezed her hand.

“How about it, are you up for a dance?” Chance asked.

She bit her lip. “You’ll have to teach me,” she said.

“Ms. Decker, I freaking love teaching you things.”

For the next few dances, Chance taught her different moves, and she found herself learning new steps and laughing a lot. Finally, she cried uncle and insisted on a break. When she got back to the table, she found Sam had provided lemonade.

“How are you doing, Baby? Are you hurting, do you need a pain pill or muscle relaxant? I made sure to put them in your purse.”

She leaned over and kissed Sam. “I’m doing fine. Before the pain gets bad, we can sneak home and you can give me a couple of orgasms to help fend it off,” she whispered in his ear while giving him an intimate smile.

“I heard that. I love how your mind works.” Chance swooped in for a kiss, leaving her breathless. Sarah and Becca sat down and laughed.

“I’m thinking this whole two-boyfriend thing might be the way to go,” Sarah said with a smile. Josie cut her with her eyes.

“Don’t worry, I’m still at the training-wheels stage,” Sarah assured her. “We just came over to tell you that Elise wants us to help present Lola’s stork cake. So, we’re going backstage.”

They both got up, and Becca hugged Sam, then turned to embrace Chance, moving to hug Josie last. “You did good, sis. I couldn’t be happier for you,” she whispered in her ear. Josie looked up at her sister and got a lump in her throat when she saw the sincerity in Becca’s eyes. Josie blinked back tears and gave her a watery smile.

  “I love you, Becca.”

  “Love you too, little sister.”

Sarah pulled on Becca’s arm and they headed for the stage.

“I guess her heart isn’t hurting for you anymore,” Sam murmured, nuzzling Josie’s temple.

“Guess not,” she whispered. She turned as she heard Chance’s chair scrape back, thinking it was time to take another turn on the dance floor. Instead she found him kneeling beside her.

“Hey, get up. I’m fine. Nothing’s hurting and Becca made me really happy,” she assured Chance. Then she heard Sam get up. He moved next to Chance and knelt beside him. She saw Betty and Butch out of the corner of her eye. Chance took one of her hands in his, and Sam took the other.

“Josie, I love you. We love you.” Chance stopped and just looked up at her. Sam let go of her hand and pulled a small velvet box out of his suit jacket. He opened it up to reveal entwined platinum bands nesting two diamonds that caught the light and scattered it across her fixed gaze.

“We want to make you ours forever, in the eyes of God, and everyone else in this world. Will you marry us?”

Josie said nothing. She looked at the beautiful eyes of green and blue staring up at her, wanting to revel and memorize the moment. They knew. There was no fear, no nervousness. They smiled and joined her in savoring this memory.

“Yes, oh, yes, a thousand times! You are my soul mates.” Their arms wrapped around each other. After they finally broke apart, Sam slid the ring on her finger.

“I’m sure these are diamonds,” Sam said with a smile. Betty and Butch came over and gave hugs to all three of them.

“I couldn’t be happier,” Betty said, tears streaming down her face.

“Well, I should hope so, considering your role in all of this,” Sam said dryly. Just then, the lead singer for the band asked for everyone’s attention.

“The town of Fate Harbor has reason to celebrate tonight,” he began. Josie watched as Elise and Rob rolled out a cake, followed by Becca and Sarah who also were rolling out a cake. “Tonight, we are celebrating the Harts’ news that they are having a baby!” A huge shout went through the auditorium along with a great deal of clapping.

“We also have another reason to celebrate,” the singer continued. “Soon, there is going to be a wedding. Chance Reynolds and Sam Booth have been lucky enough to convince Josie Decker to marry them!” Josie was stunned as another round of hollering and clapping erupted from the townsfolk. “We have two celebratory cakes here and we would like to invite the two happy triads to come up and cut them for us.”

When Josie made her way to the stage, she saw a beautiful cake shaped like wedding bells, beside her sisters.

She turned to Becca and Sarah. “Did you know about this?” she asked.

“Absolutely. Elise and Bill were working on this downstairs while we were helping you beautify.”

  “What if I’d said no?”

“We’d have had you committed,” Becca said dryly. All three of them laughed, looking over at the two men who meant the world to Josie.

Sam came between Becca and Josie and slid his arm around the two of them, while Chance did the same between Sarah and Josie.

Betty tried to take a picture, but Elise shook her head and grabbed her phone away from her.

“Betty, you and Butch get in the shot with your children.” Josie’s heart clenched as Butch and Betty joined in with her men and sisters.

Josie smiled into the camera and thought her heart would burst with joy.

  She was surrounded by family.

  She was surrounded by love.

She was surrounded by Chance and Sam.

  She was treasured.
