“You wanna clean up?” He whispers.
“I don’t think I can move,” I tell him the truth.
He laughs. “I like my cum drippin’ outta you. Sleep now, make love to you slow in a few hours, then we can shower.”
All of that sounds like a glorious plan. My body sated, my mind and heart at peace, I find myself ready to drift asleep.
Before I find my slumber, I whisper, “I love you, Rhett Rebel Oleander. Always have and always will.”
Epilogue
Crunch
Six Months Later
I’m more than willing to breathe for it for the rest of my days.
Today feels different. I don’t know why it’s bothering me. I’ve made this ride before. Given my past, I know what life without my cut feels like, too.
Soon, though, I’ll have it over my shoulders and nothing but the ride in front of me.
Even though I’ve ridden the Tail of the Dragon more than once, today it’s so much more. I earned my cut the first time, but I think it was more out of legacy that I got my votes. No, today I can stand up proudly knowing I earned every vote and every patch.
Pride.
That’s what I feel where I once held nothing but shame.
I took for granted the significance of being a Hellion before. I won’t ever make that mistake again.
I took for granted the love of a good woman once before, too, and I won’t ever let her slip away again.
With age comes wisdom, and I’m a damn better man today than I was the first time I took this ride.
This time—the honor, the respect, the traits that come with the cut—I can know without a doubt it’s by my work, dedication, and loyalty, and not because of my name.
The morning is just beginning as the sun shines through the curtains of the biker motel as it climbs over the mountains. The run-down place isn’t fancy, but it’s full of tradition. Being here for my grandfather is a step back in time to when he built this club with Roundman, Rocky, and Frisco. The tradition began with them and continues on now through us.
I take in every ounce of of the beautiful mountain view.
This is a rite-of-passage in the Hellions Motorcycle Club. One we all wait for.
While I’ve taken it more than once, I have never had my mind and heart as in it as I am today. This ride is everything.
I’ve been ready for an hour. I’m just waiting on Jenni to get back from checking in with her sister. Jami is here and going to ride with Tommy Boy.
Apparently, since he claimed her to back up my need for help with the club, he’s deciding to stick with it. I don’t ask questions. I know Jami is staying with us, but so is Tommy Boy. What’s going on with them is their story to tell, not mine. She ended up getting a plea deal that gave her probation. Mr. Calhoun is worth every penny he cost me to make that happen, too.
Usually on this ride, Tommy Boy and I share a room, but since we both have our ol’ ladies with us, we have our own spaces. I am not complaining. Jenni is a much better roommate.
Inhaling, I breathe it all in. I was born to this life. I was born to this club. A club my grandfather began when push came to shove and he knew the men at his back were family regardless of the blood in their veins.
The Hellions began in Haywood’s Landing, and now multiple charters span the Carolinas. The legacy continues on. Rhett “Danza” Perchton still gives everything he has in the name of family. His name passed onto me, a name I am filled with pride to have.
I’m honored to be a part of this tradition.
Jenni comes into the room, her hair braided and her face lit with a huge smile.
“Baby, makin’ me hard comin’ in here smilin’ like that.”
She struts right to me and drapes her arms over my shoulders. Without hesitation, her lips hit mine. I devour her mouth, relishing every second we’re connected.
We’re both breathless when we break away.
“Jenni, before we go out there, I need to tell you something.”
Her eyes lock to mine with concern in her face. “Everything okay?”
“I love you, Jennissey Rose Rivera. I love this club. I love this life.”
“I love you, too,” she whispers.
“Before I commit fully back to the club, I gotta know you’re in this shit with me.” I stand and reach in my pocket before taking a knee in front of her. “When I put on that cut again, I want to do it with you as my ol’ lady. As I commit my life to the Hellions, I also commit myself to you. This ride in life is fuckin’ hard. I have failed more than I’ve succeeded. The one thing I’ve never been wrong about is the love I have for you. Gotta know before I take this ride, are you with me?” Taking a deep breath, I take the leap of faith. “Will you marry me?”
She nods her head as I slip the oval diamond solitaire on her ring finger. Before I can stand, she drops to her knees and kisses me again.
We don’t break apart until a knock comes to the door.
It’s time to ride.
Stepping out with my woman by my side, pride fills me like never before. Dia comes rushing over with a smile on her face.
“Crunch! I’m so happy for you,” she squeals. Dia is BW’s younger sister and a bottle of happiness. “I wish I was takin’ the ride today,” she mutters the same thing she says every year when we take this ride. “I feel like I’m always the bridesmaid and never the bride. Not that I want to get married, but dammit I want to ride the Tail with everyone else too. I feel like it’s this big family reunion that I have to watch from the sidelines.
Jenni raises an eyebrow. and I tell her, “Story for another time.” I tell Jenni and look to Dia. “Your time on the Tail will come. Dia, I gotta go, babe. Love you and I know the right man will come along and you’ll have this too.”
“I know. I just wanted you to know I love you like an extra annoying older brother, and I’m happy you’re here, healthy, and with a beautiful woman at your side.”
Jenni raises her left hand and shows off her ring. I find myself smiling that the first person she gets to share it with is Dia Crews. Someone who truly has been like my own annoying sister since I grew up with just brothers.
“Together we rise,” Red says making his way over. “Proud of you, Crunch,” he says as Kylee, his ol’ lady, beams with happiness.
Our dad isn’t far from us as he yells, “Let’s ride, brothers.”
The air is cool, and the weather perfect for the curves we’re about to hug. I guide Jenni to my bike, and she hops on behind me.
We line up two by two.
Jenni holds me close as we get ready to start.
Together we rise, together we’ll fall, and together we’ll rise up again.
I may fall seven, but I’ll rise eight.
I was lost, but I found myself in this club.
Shit is as real as it gets today.
I won’t lose sight of what matters again.
Once, I was the man who lived one breath to the next looking for a high.
Now, I breathe easy because I breathe every breath for the love of the woman holding me and the family who have my back.
Yes, I breathe for it.
The ride for life is love, loyalty, and respect. This is how I ride, because this is the legacy. This is how the Hellions ride.

Kick and Diem
Opposites attract driving emotions high, this is a passion fueled ride … are you ready?
Kick
Born straight into Hell, the Hellions MC gave me a safety I never knew existed.
Raised by Nathan “Boomer” Vaughn, I finally knew what it was to have a real family.
I found my place wearing this cut and taking this ride with him.
I am Colton “Kick” Vaughn.
I live for family, f*cking, and fun.
Diem
Life is good. Life is easy.
I am Diem Reigns.
I live a life of comfort and privilege.
When everything crashes around me, I find my only comfort with him. The biker who is reckless, careless, and everything my mother told me to stay away from suddenly becomes the only person I can trust.
She’s in danger with no where to turn. He’s determined to give her the ride of her life.
Colton
My early years haunt me. Always looking over my shoulder. Waiting for him to come and bring down his pain.
Boomer and the Hellions they gave my mother, brother, and me more than protection.
They gave me stability, confidence.
Everything I am today is because of this club.
No matter what, I wear my cut boldly. No man is better than a man who earns a Hellions cut.

In The Red
The event that shook one small town to its core was never solved. The domino effect of one person’s crime going unpunished is beyond measure.
He’s no saint.
Dover “Collector” Ragnes rides with only five brothers
at his back. Nomads with no place to call home, they never stay in one place too long. Together, they are the Devil’s Due MC, and their sole purpose is to serve justice their way for unsolved crimes everywhere they go.
She’s not afraid to call herself a sinner.
Emerson Flint still remembers the loss of her elementary school best friend. She is all grown up, but the memories still haunt her of the missing girl. Surrounding herself with men at the tattoo shop, she never questions her safety. Her life is her art. Her canvas is the skin of others.
However, danger is at her door.
Will Dover overcome the history he shares with Emerson in time? Will Emerson lead him to the retribution he has always sought?
Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.
Prologue
Dover
I hang my head and sit in silence. The television blares as strangers move about our house. Some of them are trying to put together a search party, and others are here with food and weak attempts to comfort. I want them all to go away so I can scream or break something. I want each and every one of them to stop looking at me like I should be beaten within an inch of my life then allowed to heal, only to get beaten again. Do I deserve that?
