Fated Mates of the Underworld, Books 1-3 Page 38

by Baxter, Linzi

I winced. “I’m not one hundred percent sure, but it was a power that was locked away, and I just undid the bind so it would take the place of the other. It’s strange how things work out. You had this power, and you fulfilled your duty. As a reward, another power waited for you. This one might even be better. I would recommend working with someone to figure out exactly what it is.”

“Thank you.” Pandora leaned down and placed a kiss on my cheek. “I think you’ll be good for Lucifer. And he’ll be good for you. Now we need to go deal with a few souls I might’ve sent to the wrong place.”

Lucifer let out a groan, but I could see the smile he was trying to cover up. Everything happened for a reason. I might not like the fact he went and slept with dozens of women while I was being held in the catacombs, but I had some great stepdaughters I couldn’t wait to spend time with.

“How are you feeling?” Lucifer scooped me up into his lap.

“I think I’ve held off long enough. I want you to bind our souls together.”

A smile spread across his face. “A gentleman would ask if you’re sure. Since I’m not a gentleman, you can’t go back on your word now.”

“Not planning on it. I’m yours, Lucifer, for today and eternity.”

He sprang to his feet with me in his arms and walked to the fireplace. “If I’m going to bind us, it’s going to be in our bed.”

Seconds later, he was carrying me into the master bedroom at the palace. But it didn’t look the same as when I’d been there last. The red wallpaper was gone, replaced by a light-gray one, and the same with the bedspread. The TV show I watched would call the style modern.

  “This looks amazing, Lucifer.”

He grinned down at me. “You haven’t seen the best part.” He walked past the bed to the far wall and pushed it open to reveal another bedroom, this one with a large bed in the middle and decorated in light pink. Off to the side was a soaking tub.

“What is this place?” I asked.

“I wanted you to have a place to hide when the world gets crazy around here.”

“No matter what, I’m always going to be by your side.”

“Then we can both hide in here, and one day, when we are ready, we can turn it into a nursery. For now, it can be our hidden sex cave. I had a few things added in here you might like.”

Lucifer set me down and lowered the lights just enough so we could still see each other. He walked back over and worked the tank top over my head. His fingers traced along my bra until he reached the clasp and unhooked it.

He walked me backward until my feet hit the bed, and I lowered myself down. When I was lying in the middle, he walked to the top of the bed and pulled something from the drawer next to us. The diamonds on the cuffs sparkled in the light. “I noticed how you looked at Hera’s.”

I raised my hands above my head. I trusted Lucifer would never do anything to hurt me. He clicked one cuff loosely around my wrist and the other to the bars on the bed.

My body stretched out over the bed. Lucifer stripped off his shirt, so he only had his black dress pants on. Every cell in my body came to life.

He linked his fingers in my yoga pants and pulled them, kissing his way down my legs. When he glanced up at my eyes, his flashed red. “It feels right to have my queen back in the palace.”

“Can we come up with another word? Prometheus totally ruined that one for me.”

Lucifer let out a growl and nipped the inside of my leg. “Don’t ever say his name, my dark princess.” He leaned forward and licked at my folds.

I moaned in ecstasy. “I don’t know why we waited.”

“You almost died in that fight.”

“It was a broken bone and a few cuts.”

  Lucifer shook his head.

I was trying to make light of the situation, but if it hadn’t been for Evanora and her potions, I might not still be alive.

“After tonight, we aren’t going to have to worry about that again.”

“Unless someone finds the immortal sword—”

My words were cut off as Lucifer nipped my bud. “Less talking, more feeling. And you never have to worry about someone finding it because I have it.”

“I have so many questions, but I can’t think with you doing that to me.”

“This…?” Lucifer pressed two fingers into my folds.

My body arched off the bed, wanting more, as he continued to torment me with his tongue. After a couple of minutes, he pulled back.

“I love how you touch me, Lucifer. I need you more than each breath.”

“Tonight, we’re going to come together. Do you know what happens when our souls bind together?”

  “No,” I said.

“Every emotion you have, I can feel. I will know when you’re sad, angry, or even in a sexually heightened state. I’ve heard sex is even better when you are bound together as one.”

I let out a huff. “I’m not sure I can handle much more emotion in sex. You already give me at least two orgasms each time we’re together.”

Lucifer added one more finger into my folds, and I clenched around them. “There’s nothing that makes me happier than when you scream out my name.” His breath was enough to make me clamp down. “You’re fucking soaked. I love making you feel that way and getting to lick your juices up. We’re not going to leave this room for at least a month. Three fucking centuries we have to make up for because we were both boneheaded.” Lucifer let out a growl and slowly licked.

The vibration from his mouth, along with his scruff, was enough to send me over the edge. I could feel Lucifer smiling against me. When my body finally came down, he didn’t stop the assault on my clit. He continued until I was almost at the edge again, and then he pulled back.

  “Lucifer…”

“You taste so good.” He continued, and I couldn’t pull him up because my hands were cuffed to the bed.

Lucifer worked his way up my body then swirled his lips around my nipples. I arched my back, trying to rub against him. But each time I was about to get a little friction, he would pull back.

  “I need you, Lucifer.”

He jumped off the bed and slowly removed his pants and boxers. His hard member came free, and my mouth watered. I wanted to wrap my lips around him.

“I’m not sure you’re ready yet.” Lucifer winked and crawled back on the bed. Then he lay between my legs, using his lips and his mouth to lick and suck until I was shaking. I pulled at the cuffs, wanting to touch him and run my hands through his hair. The orgasm was building, and I was on the verge of exploding.

Lucifer was doing what he’d said he would do—making up for the years of being apart. Nothing was hotter than Lucifer between my legs. I screamed his name when I went over.

Lucifer crawled up the bed and placed a kiss on my lips. “Are you ready to be mine?”

“Yes,” I whispered, going hoarse. “But I want to be able to touch you.”

Lucifer waved his hand, and the cuffs fell to the floor. I hugged him tightly. Reaching between us, I grabbed his hard member and lined it up. Lucifer pushed in, and I was lost in the sensation of coming together.

  “You feel so good.”

  “Are you ready?” he asked.

When I nodded, Lucifer spoke the ancient words of the gods. The room flashed bright white, and a humming surrounded us. It was hard to concentrate on anything other than how good Lucifer felt as he pressed in and out of me.

  “More, Lucifer. I need more.”

He kept whispering the words to bind us together. His magic came out and enveloped me. It whispered against my skin, and when I opened my eyes, I saw my magic doing the same to him. A mixture of colors lit up the room, pulling us together.

Lucifer reached between us and rubbed my nub. With each circle, I felt myself closer to coming. With his other hand, he pinched my nipple. “Come when I say.”

His words were almost enough to send me over the edge. I clenched my eyes shut, trying to concentrate and do as he wanted. “I can
t wait much longer.”

  “Come, my dark princess.”

Before his words were out, I let loose, and he pushed into me hard and fast as we came together. Our magic formed into one and erupted in a blast. The room shook, and things fell off the walls, but Lucifer didn’t slow down. He continued to thrust until my orgasm was at the end.

Lucifer rested his forehead against mine, and when he opened his eyes, they were red with a mixture of white. I could see my magic inside him.

He ran his hand down the sides of my face. “You’re mine.”

  “Always.”

Lucifer rolled to the side, pulling me in closer. “That was amazing.”

I glanced around. The once nicely put-together room looked like a tornado had passed through and destroyed everything in its wake. “Did you know our magic would explode like that?”

“Nope, but I can’t wait to do that again.”

I couldn’t either. My body felt fantastic. Nothing hurt anymore. I felt like I could go run and fight for hours. Lucifer was the key to making me whole.

  “I love you, Lucifer.”

“I love you, Gemma. And I can’t wait to rule hell with you by my side for the rest of eternity.”

“You're still on vacation for a couple more days.”

“I plan to spend every minute of it with you in bed.”

  And he did.

  Epilogue - Daisy

“Absolutely not,” Lucifer growled. He was totally unfair, and I wasn’t going to leave until I got my way.

“Pandora is going to need me,” I reminded my father. “She and Atieno will need help taking care of the triplets.”

“They can hire someone off the streets to watch the little rug rats. You’re not going to leave hell.” Fire flickered from the tips of Dad’s fingers, but I wasn’t going to back down.

“They can’t hire someone off the streets, and you know it.” If they were anything like Paldon’s kids, they would be shooting magic within their first few months. I felt a little bad for using the babies as the excuse for going to the mortal plane, but I had a plan, and I couldn’t achieve it in hell.

“Wrath can help them,” Lucifer pointed out as he looked up from his paper. “Or one of the other deadly sins…”

“I’m going to go whether you like it or not,” I said.

Lucifer let out a long sigh. “You can’t get out of here without my permission.”

“I’m twenty-four years old. I want to go to college, live like other people my age, and get laid.”

Steam rolled out of Lucifer’s ears. “You are never to talk about sex,” he croaked.

I’d spent years following every one of Lucifer’s rules to the letter. It had gotten me nowhere. I wanted to live my life and see things. Instead, he wanted me to run the library at the local school in hell. Nobody ever showed up there except a couple of people looking for books on how to rule the world. It was my time to live.

“It’s not fair that you let Wrath and the rest of the sins do whatever they want.”

Maybe using the seven deadly sins as an example wasn’t the best idea. Lucifer was hiding something from me. There was a reason he didn’t want me going to the mortal level, but he wouldn’t ever come out and tell me what it was.

“I won’t be able to protect you,” he said.

“Protect me from what?” I stood up and started pacing back and forth. Unlike the rest of Lucifer’s kids, I didn’t have powers. I couldn’t magically blow something up or bring someone back to life. Hell, I was lucky if I didn’t trip and break a bone every other day. That was another thing—I didn’t have the ability to heal quickly like everyone else.

  “Drop it.”

“No. I’m sick of not getting to see the world.” I stopped and looked at the latest family photo, taken at Pandora's house. The seven deadly sins, my other two sisters and their mates and kids. Even Lucifer was in the picture, but I wasn’t.

“We can take another photo down here.”

“You’re not listening. I’m going with or without your blessing. I’d prefer it to be with your blessing.”

“And where do you plan to live—with Pandora or Paldon?” Lucifer asked.

“Neither. I got accepted into college on a full-ride scholarship and found a place between the college and Pandora’s house. She said the neighborhood is good.” I’d saved every single dollar for years, hoping I would get to leave hell one day and venture out on my own.

“You can’t live in New Orleans on your…” His words trailed off.

“Why?” When he didn’t answer right away, I pushed. “Is it because my mother is in New Orleans?”

“No,” Lucifer yelled as he pounded the desk. “Down here, I control things. I can’t control the mortal world as much. And you don’t have powers.”

I felt tears burn in my eyes. He didn’t think I was strong enough to take care of myself. “I’ve taken every self-defense class hell has to offer.”

“But that isn’t going to work when someone comes after you to get to me.” Lucifer glanced down at the photo. “You’re one of my weaknesses, and if I let you go, I can’t protect you.”

“Come on, Dad. You know the same thing could happen in hell.” It had. Twice. When I was ten, a demon had broken into the school and taken me from the classroom. And it had happened again on my twenty-first birthday.

“Why don’t you wait another year and we can reevaluate?” Lucifer asked.

“This is the same conversation we had last year.” I let out an aggravated sigh. “I already put a deposit down on the apartment.”

“Are you finally leaving the nest?” Wrath asked as she walked into Lucifer’s office and sat on the red couch. “It’s about time you let Daisy go live her life, Dad.”

“No. I was just telling your sister to wait another year.” Lucifer pointed at Wrath. “Are you the one pushing her to move so you can take over her apartment?”

Gemma entered the room and went straight to Lucifer. He pulled her onto his lap and placed a kiss on her cheek. She wore a sunshine dress that accentuated her bright-blue eyes. Her blond hair was up in a bun. I’d grown to like Gemma. We’d spent hours talking, and she thought going to the mortal world would be a good idea for me. Over the past few weeks, she’d helped Lucifer get the souls sorted out after Prometheus turned the abyss into his army and Pandora had her mishaps with assigning souls.

“You need to let her go.” Gemma leaned in and whispered something into Lucifer’s ear.

My father groaned and turned his attention from Gemma to me. His eyes flashed red for a second before turning back to brown. “You need to have a hell’s tracker added, and I want the pin.”

I wasn’t an idiot. I knew how many enemies my father had made over the years. About five years before, I’d had a tracker installed. Wrath had the location number. I wasn't going to give it to Lucifer until he planned to let me go.

“If I get a tracker, can I go?” I asked.

Lucifer’s eyes twinkled. I knew he was planning on making Marcus, the man who installed the trackers, delay doing mine. He thought he was getting one over on me. Wrath laughed from the couch. She knew what was going on.

  “Yes,” he said.

“Is that your only condition?” I asked, bouncing in my seat.

Lucifer nodded. I jumped out of the chair, ran out of his office, grabbed my suitcase, and wheeled it back in.

My dad frowned at me. “I said you couldn’t go until you had a GPS chip.” Lucifer narrowed his eyes. “You tricked me and had one put in years ago, didn’t you?”

“You should be proud of her for tricking you,” Gemma said, kissing Lucifer’s cheek.

  “You can’t go,” he said.

Tears streamed down my face. I couldn’t hold back any longer. This was something I wanted and needed, and he didn’t understand.

“Are you going to go back on your word Lucifer?” Wrath asked. “I clearly heard you say Daisy could go. If it makes you feel better, I checked out the apartment
and installed a camera and a security system, and if that isn’t enough, Lust is staying next door.”

I groaned and sat back down. Most people would think Lust would be the fun sister, wanting to go out and party and be around guys, and she was—as long as I wasn’t involved. Lust was almost as bad as Lucifer when it came to keeping me in hell. There was something my family wasn’t telling me, and I would never figure it out if I stayed in hell.

“You need to check in at least once a day and come home every Sunday for dinner,” Lucifer said, adding to the already annoying list of rules.

“Fine, but a text is considered checking in.” I paused. “I have a rule.”

  Lucifer raised his brow.

“No just showing up in my place. You need to use the front door,” I said. Pandora and Paldon complained about this all the time.

“As long as I don’t think you are in danger,” he shot back. “I want the tracking number now.”

I told him the number, which I knew by heart, and watched as he typed it into his system. It didn’t bother me to have Lucifer tracking me as long as I got to go to school.

“When do you start classes?” Gemma asked.

“Monday.” I had two days to settle into the new apartment and figure out where I was going. “Pandora took a few classes at SMU. She’s off on Sunday and plans to show me around campus. And then I’m going to help her get a few things for the baby room.”

Wrath stood. Her long black hair flowed down her back. I hadn’t noticed at first that she wasn’t dressed in her typical black leather pants and black tank top. Instead, she had on a pair of jeans and a white tank top. “I will take you to your apartment and make sure you get in fine.”

Twisting my long blonde locks into a bun, I rolled my eyes at Wrath. “I’m not a child. I can get to my apartment,” I said, frustrated. “How would it look if I showed up to meet my roommate with an escort?”

Wrath ignored my comment, walked over, and grabbed the bag from my hand. Lucifer stood from his chair, walked over, and wrapped me in a hug.

“Be careful, my flower.” Lucifer pressed a kiss to my forehead. “And call if anything feels off or if you want more protection.”
