“Stop. Stop it! Stop it, your royal highness. You know my feelings were true, are true and it breaks my heart.” Shiloh sobbed.
“Then why do you leave, Shiloh?”
“Because I love him.”
“Then show him.”
“What if he doesn’t love me?”
“Are you kidding?”
And then Shiloh broke to pieces.
“What have I done? Oh my God, Lann, come back.” Her sobs echoed from the walls, the creatures, who had witnessed it all, sank their heads, wanted to rush to aid the human, but shock paralyzed their step.
Night stalker walked and halted in front of the weeping heap of woman.
“Get on my back, I’ll carry you.” He said.
Her auburn mane flew in the wind while Night Stalker sailed with her through the Labyrinth cavern tunnels toward the topside. He shot out of the cavern’s mouth like a bullet out of a revolver. The stallion gasped as his black eyes took in the outside for the first time and his wings flailed ever so slightly. Though he recovered quickly of the salty aroma in the air, realizing it originated of the wild ocean way below the cliff.
“Turn right and then up to the edge of the cliff.” Shiloh screamed against the wind.
The equine followed her instruction while he turned and swept upward he saw for the first time the sky, covered with sparkly lights, later Shiloh would tell him those were stars.
There were no clouds obscuring the crescent moon, in its shine, Shiloh and night stalker saw Lann sitting at the edge of the cliff, the one where she had fallen off from. As they got closer, she shouted his name and Lann looked up in surprise.
Night stalker folded his wings and Shiloh jumped off before his hooves hit the ground, she ran the few steps toward the warrior, threw herself into his arms, kissing him all over and everywhere.
“Forgive me, Lann. I love you and I would never be able to live without you. I want to be with you no matter where we live.” She whispered breathlessly between kisses. “I want to be Marcus’s chancellor and left hand, if I could be your heart.”
His hands dug gently into her shoulders as he pushed her away to look at her sternly.
“Are you sure?”
She nodded with tears in her eyes.
“Say it!” Lann demanded.
“I love you and I will stay with you.”
“That, my Lady Shiloh is not that easy.” He said with a twinkle in his eyes.
Her brow lifted in question.
“It depends if you’re willing to marry me.” He said softly.
Tears filled her eyes anew, but her mouth curved and Lann knew this were tears of joy.
“Yes, my Lord Lann, I will marry you.”
The End
