For the Love of Us Page 6

by Kaylee Rose

Obviously, I will need to do something with my hair. Cristina showed me a few simple tricks, how I can wear it, and how to create a simple elegant updo.

My makeup needs a refresher as well. It’s been years since I’ve applied more than mascara and lip gloss. I have an appointment later at a store that gives free makeovers.

“I think a simple pearl necklace would complement this classic look we’ve created for you. Do you have one?”

“I do, yes. The necklace was a gift from my husband on our wedding day. He left them in the limousine for me to find while being driven to the church.”

  “How lovely,” Lily replied.

Memories of my wedding spring to mind. I share my favorite story from that day with Lily.

The morning was nuts. Not so different from the rest of the day.

Taking care to not bump my tiara and veil while getting into the limo, I duck down to enter. The limo seated twelve, but it was just my dad and I using it. I needed the extra space for my cathedral train and all the crinoline hiding under my skirt. The dress was very 80’s and poofy in design.

I notice a box on the seat in front of me. It’s the classic blue Tiffany box with a white bow.

My father is behind me, tucking my white satin monstrosity inside, and all the while, trying to keep my dress from getting dirty.

Looking back over my shoulder I ask if this box is from him.

With a sly grin and slight shake of his head he tells me to get in and find out for myself.

With all this material it’s not as easy as he thinks it is, but I manage, eventually. Instead of following me inside he softly closes the door.

I place the box in my lap wondering what it could be. I’m not a patient woman and love presents. I quickly untie the bow, lifting the lid to reveal a small note card.

I’d recognize that writing anywhere. It’s from Brad. The card simply says, thank you for saying yes.

Under the card is a blue pouch with draw strings. I open it slowly, peeking in to see my prize. A stunning pearl necklace. It’s the perfect gift and I’m choked with emotions.

“You’re welcome,” I whisper as I place the precious gift around my neck.

It’s impossible for me to not cry when I think back on that day.

Lily hands me a tissue and I dab at my eyes.

“Thank you.” When I look up, Lily is overcome and is wiping away her own tears.

“That’s a wonderful memory to have. Those pearls will be perfect in so many ways. Maybe it will remind him of your wedding and the true love you felt back then.”

“It’s my favorite wedding day memory. I won’t share my favorite wedding night story today. I’m sure I’ve told you more about my personal life than most customers do.”

“Yeah. Let’s keep that one for the next time we see each other.”

“I’m glad we met. I feel like I’ve made a friend in you today.”

“Me too. I don’t have a lot of girlfriends. All work and no play are not a great way to go through life. I never take time away from work. But enough about me, this is your time. You need shoes to match this fabulous dress and as luck would have it, I just got a new shipment of T-Strap heels that will be perfect. Let me grab them. I’d say you wear a size 6 or 6½, right?”

  “Yes, that’s right.”

“I’ll bring a few different sizes to try on. We’ll find you the perfect fit, don’t worry. Put these stockings on while trying on the heels. I’ll be right back.”

Lily leaves again to grab shoes.

Alone with my own thoughts, more sexy scenarios for tonight flood my brain.

With Brad's eyes locked on mine, he falls to his knees in front of me.

I can’t stop staring at my husband in his hot business suit. He makes me wet every time I see him dressed in his jacket and tie. He is every woman’s dream.

His hands glide from my ankle, up my leg. When he touches the back of my knees, I think I’m going to pass out. I could orgasm right now from his simple touch alone. My body shivers, causing him to still his fingers.

“Oh, no, please don’t stop. Please.”

He’s making me beg. Shit I’ve never begged. I’ve never verbalized my wants before. No wonder he doesn’t know what I need.

“Spread your legs wider. I’m not stopping. I’m going to taste you for hours.”

Like new lovers, we are exploring our desires.

Placing my hands on his head for balance, I slowly inch my legs apart silently agreeing with his plan.

Brad turns me around, his lips replacing the fingers on the spot behind my knee. Fingers stroke the crease where my panties lay snuggled against my thigh. Feather light kisses travel the invisible trail to my pussy. Need, want, now repeats over and over in my head.

Lily returns, pulls me back to reality. “Here we go. Sorry it took so long. I had to fight through the boxes to find the shoes I was looking for. Are you okay? You look a little flushed. Can I get you a glass of water?”

Fuck, I think to myself. Tonight can’t get here fast enough. If I keep daydreaming, I’m going to go off like a firecracker if Brad even looks at me with interest.

I manage to respond, “Yes, please.”

She sets the boxes on the table next to the chairs before disappearing to get my water.

These mind-blowing fantasies are getting more intense as the day goes by. I need to pull myself together.

I sit in the plush chair in front of the platform. Too bad I didn’t think to have Tina come with me. She’s a self-proclaimed shoe whore. Her shoes, purses, and accessories always match her outfits perfectly. I’ll send her the pictures I promised. I think she would love to meet Lily. I need to set up a ladies’ night or coffee date for the three of us.

I lift the lid off the top box, using it to fan my face. I don’t want to look hot and bothered when Lily comes back.

Brad on his knees in his business suit remains on the forefront of my imagination, making me want to slip my fingers into my panties and finish the job my mind started. I’m too afraid I will get caught. Tempted, I refrain, not ready to give Lily that kind of show. She doesn’t seem the type to watch porn on the internet let alone a live show in her dressing room. Then again, maybe she’ll shock the hell out of me and be a closet dirty girl like Tina.

I slide the silk stockings up my legs, hooking them to the garters. Lily comes back in with a glass of water. I take the tumbler from her, chugging it in a most unladylike fashion. You can dress a girl up but she’s still the same person inside.

“Did you try any of the shoes on yet?”

No, I was too busy toying with the idea of masturbating to the thought of my husband eating my pussy. If I didn’t think you would catch me, I would have done it!

“Uh, no. I felt a little dizzy and figured I would sit for just a minute.”

Lily pulls the foot stool over in front of me and tells me to relax so she can help. The black and white leather wing tip heels are soft with straps to wrap around my ankles secured with a delicate gold clasp. These heels add the final touch to the masterpiece Lily has created.

“Why don’t you stand in front of the mirrors again for a better view.”

When I see my reflection, I touch my lips in an attempt to muffle the gasp escaping. It’s like staring at a stranger.

I’m stunned. I don’t look like me, yet it does look like me. Turning slightly, I look at my butt. Normally it’s the part of my body I hate most. It’s not my most flattering side but in this dress it looks great. I love the way the dress hugs my whole body. Feeling extra sexy I stand a little taller, more confident.

“Yes, yes, yes! This is it. This dress is going to get Brad’s attention.”

I step down from the platform, pulling Lily into a hug. I’m grateful for all her help. She was precise, professional and kindhearted. She knew what I wanted and found it for me. Lily is a master at her craft. A genuinely good saleswoman which is a rare trait nowadays. What I thought would take several hours only
took one. The valuable time has afforded me the opportunity to go to other shops I really didn’t think I would have time for.

“Will you take some pictures so I can show my friend Tina? She’s going to die when she sees me.”

“Of course. Give me your phone and step back up to the mirrors. I’ll take a bunch of them for you. Maybe you can show your husband later? Send him a little reminder picture on Monday to get him hot and bothered all over again.”

I snort at her words. “You really do think of everything.”

She takes pictures from multiple angles.

“Thank you. I can’t wait to wear this dress tonight.”

“I have a feeling when your husband sees it, you won’t be wearing it very long.” Her humor makes me smile. I turn to look at myself once more. Perfect.

“Sit back down and let me help you take the heels off. If you place everything on this chair, I will take it to the front and package it up. Take your time though.”

She helps me remove my shoes and the dress. Then, she gives me some privacy to remove the lingerie.

I feel different slipping back into my jeans and boots. The dress and heels made me feel sexy. The jeans and boots I have on right now gives me more of a sassy feeling. Both work for the change in attitude and appearance I’m working on. I refuse to go back to the unkempt housewife I was yesterday.

  Chapter Nine

As I exit the dressing room, I see Lily behind the counter giving instructions to a young girl who obviously works here.

“Hi, it’s all in the room.”

Lily introduces the employee she was just speaking with.

“Great. This is my niece, Angie. She’s here part-time while working towards her nursing degree at University of San Francisco.”

“Nice to meet you, Angie. Your aunt is amazing. I absolutely love her.”

“I love her too. Aunt Lily is the best.”

They wrap their arms around each other in a tight squeeze.

  “Aw, love you too, Ang.”

Lily turns her attention back to me. “Do you have more shopping to do?”

“I have an appointment at the cosmetic store across the mall and then one more store to hit before I leave.”

“Why don’t you leave your bags here while you finish shopping. That will give me time to prepare your dress to take home.”

“Seriously? My things won’t be in the way?”

“I’ll place everything in the back. It’s no problem at all. Take your time and have a relaxing makeover session.”

“Thanks. I was wondering, would you like to get together some time for coffee? I would love for you meet my best friend Tina.”

“I’d love that. Let me give you my number.” She grabs a business card and writes her cell number on the back.

“Now go get going. I will have everything ready when you get back.”

I tuck the card into my wallet, hug Lily again and wave to Angie, “I’m off. Be back in about an hour.”

Mentally checking the dress off my list, I float out the store. Today is looking good.

Sephora is not far from Lily’s. Smart location. Fancy dresses and makeup go hand in hand.

I send Tina a few of the pictures Lily took and shove my phone into my back pocket.

A young woman greets me at the entrance. “Good morning.”

“Good morning. I have an appointment with, um, I can’t remember her name but it’s for a mini makeover. I think I have her name in my calendar. Hang on.”

Before I start digging through the mess in my purse, she tells me it must be with Jenni. She’s the only cosmetologist on duty today. “I’ll let her know you’re here. Take a seat in front of the mirrors over there.”

She points to the brightly lit makeup station. You can’t hide any flaws in these mirrors. Funny, I’ve looked at myself more in the last forty-eight hours than I have the last two years.

  “Thanks.”

Hopping onto the black leather stool, my feet swing out of nerves. A side effect of being short is my feet never touch the ground when I sit.

It looks like I am the only customer in the store. I guess it’s still early and the retired ladies I’ve seen walking through the mall probably aren’t their biggest clients.

A smiling young woman comes bouncing towards me. She looks to be in her early twenties. She reminds me of Tinkerbelle. Her blonde hair is piled up in a messy topknot. She has on a fitted white button up shirt, black pedal pushers and ballerina flats.

“Hi, I’m Jenni. Are ya ready?”

Her bubbly personality pours out and surrounds me with positive energy. After having such a great experience at Lily’s store, I’m glad the positive vibes have followed me here. I need all the good energy I can get today.

  “Hi, Jenni, I’m Callie.”

“Is this a special occasion or just a little pick me up?”

“A special occasion.” I decide to leave it at that.

My phone buzzes in my pocket. I’m sure it’s Tina, excited by the pictures I sent her, but there isn’t time right now.

I close my eyes, hoping Jenni can help with my transformation. She gets to work, turning my chair where she needs me, while I try to relax.

In no time at all she announces she’s finished. “All done. You can look now.”

I open my eyes and gasp. Who was this beauty looking back at me?

“Oh. My God,” I exclaim, wanting to cry, but not wanting to wreck my mascara at the same time. “You’re an artist.” I can’t stop looking. “Wow. Thank you, so much.”

I’m stunned by my reflection and hope Brad appreciates all the effort I have gone to.

“I’m so happy you like it,” she says with a smile. “If you’ll come this way. I’ll walk you up to the register.”

On my way out of the store, I see Jenni cleaning up. “Thanks again. I’m blown away by how amazing I look.” I go to hand her two twenty-dollar bills, but she protests.

  “No, no. That’s not necessary.”

“Take it please, you don’t know how much you’ve done for me.”

Reluctantly, she thanks me and accepts my tip.

I still have one more stop before going back to Lily’s.

My phone buzzes. It is Tina.

  I scroll though her texts, of which there are many;

  Beautiful!

  I love the heels.

  What are you doing?

  Where are you?

Don’t make me hunt you down.

I call her before she blows a gasket.

Tina picks up before the second ring. “About time.”

  “I was having my makeover.”

“I guessed that, but you left me hanging.”

I chuckle a bit picturing her with the phone in her hand waiting for me to call. “My god, you’re so impatient.”

“You’ve been gone for sooooooo long.” She draws her words out long like a whiney kid.

“Stop exaggerating. You sound like my sons.”

“Okay, I’m done. Love the pictures. So beautiful.”

“I know right? That dress is perfect.”

“You’re right, the dress is perfect, but you are beautiful.”

She always says the right things and knows how to make me smile.

“Have I told you lately what a great BFF you are?”

“Yes, but I never get tired of hearing it. Say it again!” Her excitement pours out as she speaks.

“You’re the best friend in the entire universe. How’s that?”

“Exactly what I wanted to hear.” I can practically hear her smile while she speaks. “What else is on your list?”

“I have one more store to hit, the bakery and I still need to pick up stuff for dinner. Will you be at the house by two?”

“Yeah, do you need anything besides the flowers?”

“I don’t think so, but I’ll text if something comes up. Use your key if I’m late.”

  “Got it! See ya soon.”

  “Bye.”

OMG! I only have a more few hours left. I think I’m going to be sick. The acid from my stomach threatens to bubble up. I sit down on one of the mall benches hoping this feeling will pass.

Everything has come together so quickly. It took years for Brad and me to reach this point of disconnect. Maybe I’m expecting too much. How can we make this drastic change work?

By trying that’s how. It’s about recognizing what we need to move forward in our marriage. A small change tonight, a little more tomorrow. That’s how I need to look at this. It’s going to take time.

I look at the time on my phone. I have a few extra minutes to spare and see the novelty store I was looking for. I wonder if they have something to spice up our night.

The smell of incense invades my nostrils as soon as I step over the threshold. I’ve been in this store once before, to buy Christmas presents. They have great knick-knacks for secret elf gift exchanges. The walls are covered with character T-shirts and amusing slogans. It’s darker inside than expected. Their stock at the front of the store are not exactly what I’m looking for right now. Venturing further to the rear, I see what I came in for.

The adult fun section is hidden in the back corner.

  Chapter Ten

The lights in this corner of the store are dim, adding to the naughtiness surrounding me. I see several items which appear to be glowing. A large pink box catches my eye. Inside is a giant blow up cock. I hold back the giggles imagining what Brad’s reaction would be if he was to walk in tonight and see it in the middle of our dining table. I push humor to one side and move on to the next section.

Bachelorette party supplies line the next few shelves. Large varieties of penis paraphernalia are available in this section. Everything from straws, ice cube molds, and lollipops. Even headbands with penises that bounce on springs.

Questions stir in my head as my eyes peruse the shelves. Who would wear that? I guess a drunk bachelorette.
