  GLOSSARY

  Allan Smith: Colonel in the United States Army’s Special Operations. Formerly Captain Smith, commander of the platoon that discovered Axel and Rolf in Germany.

  Alena: Formally known as Kristel. Soviet agent codenamed Sickle and part of a covert action team codenamed Hammer and Sickle with her twin brother Alexi a/k/a Hammer. She was genetically engineered by Nazi scientists for super speed in the early 1940s. Mother was a Slav named Chessa.

  Alexi: Formally known as Gerd. Soviet agent codenamed Hammer and part of a covert action team codenamed Hammer and Sickle with his twin sister Alena a/k/a Sickle. He was genetically engineered by Nazi scientists for super strength in the early 1940s. Mother was a Slav named Chessa.

  Alois: Member of the Czechoslovakian State Security Office.

  Area 51: A top secret U.S. Air Force base, that is rumored to house alien technology.

  Arthur Nelson, Sir: Member of British MI6 who worked with Thomas Flemming and the OSS during WWII.

  Axel Smith: Codenamed Blitz by the American CSOS and part of the U.S. Government’s covert superhero team codenamed Blitzkrieg with his twin brother Rolf Smith a/k/a Krieg, agent Thomas Flemming a/k/a Canary and Agent Dawn Williams a/k/a Psion. Axel is the son of Brygida Dubenski and was genetically engineered by Nazi scientists in the early 1940s to shoot bolts of electricity from his body.

  Bell, The: Known in German as Die Glocke based on its shape like a giant bell, it was a secret Nazi wonder weapon that was believed could “win the war” for the Germans. It was speculated to be a time machine or an anti-gravity vehicle. It disappeared from Germany in 1945 and then reappeared in Pennsylvania in 1966.

  Blitzkrieg: CSOS covert action team that includes Agent Thomas Flemming a/k/a Canary, Agent Axel Smith a/k/a Blitz, Agent Rolf Smith a/k/a Krieg and Agent Dawn Williams a/k/a Psion.

  Brygida Dubenski: A.K.A. the Valkyrie. Polish Jew, captured by the Nazis in 1939 and used in an experimental program to mother genetically enhanced super humans. Mother of Axel Smith a/k/a Blitz and Rolf Smith a/k/a Krieg.

  Centre, the: The nickname for KGB Central Headquarters, used by Soviet Agents during the Cold War.

  Chessa: Slav captured by Nazis in Czechoslovakia in 1939 and used in an experimental program to mother genetically enhanced super humans. Mother of Alena a/k/a Kristel a/k/a Sickle and Alexi a/k/a Gerd a/k/a Hammer.

  Clandestine Scientific Operations Service: See CSOS.

  CSOS: Clandestine Scientific Operations Service. Formed out of the science division of the OSS following the second World War, its primary objective is to stay one step ahead of the Soviet Union scientifically.

  Dave: An alien robot.

  Dawn Williams: Codenamed Psion, Agent Williams is the newest member of the CSOS covert action team codenamed Team Blitzkrieg which includes Agent Axel Smith a/k/a Blitz, Agent Rolf Smith a/k/a Krieg and Agent Thomas J. Flemming a/k/a Canary.

  Dobry Antek: Polish school teacher who hid Noah and Brygida Dubenski and several other Jews during the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939. Husband of Magda Antek.

  Ernst Volker: German scientist during the 1930s and 1940s who was instrumental in the Nazi super human program under Colonel Hans Arnulf. Dr. Volker was responsible for the development of Freyr and Freyja as super soldiers for the Third Reich.

  Ford: Agent in the CSOS.

  Freyja: Genetically enhanced by Nazi scientists as super soldiers, Freyja and her twin brother Freyr were the pride of the Third Reich. However, the war ended prior to her being old enough for combat. Her current whereabouts are unknown, but it is rumored that she escaped with Nazi scientists to a secret base in Antarctica.

  Freyr: Genetically enhanced by Nazi scientists as super soldiers, Freyr and his twin sister Freyja were the pride of the Third Reich. However, the war ended prior to him being old enough for combat. His current whereabouts are unknown, but it is rumored that he has become a super assassin for hire.

  Gitmo: An abbreviated version of Guantanamo Bay, derived from the abbreviation GTMO.

  Hamil: Agent in the CSOS.

  Hans Arnulf: Colonel in the German Army. High-ranking Nazi who heads a top secret project to genetically enhance humans to create a super race. Uses Jews, Slavs, Communists and other so-called “undesirables” for experimentation.

  Hans Kammler: Top Nazi Official who directed the special projects for Adolf Hitler. He was in charge of the V-rocket program and designed the death camps where millions of Jews were exterminated. He was Colonel Arnulf’s superior. He disappeared in 1945 and was presumed dead.

  Herbert Holger: German scientist during the 1930s and 1940s who was instrumental in the Nazi super human program under Colonel Hans Arnulf. Dr. Holger was responsible for development of Axel, Rolf, Kristel and Gerd as super soldiers for the Third Reich.

  Home, the: A U.S. government retirement/assisted living home for spies. Rolf Smith resides there.

  Ian F. Johnson: Patent attorney turned spy for the OSS during the Second World War. President Truman appointed him as director of the CSOS following the war.

  Julian B. Hayes: Ivy League Professor prior to the outbreak of the Second World War. Professor Hayes was asked personally by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to join the science division of the OSS. He was referred to by his colleagues in the OSS as Professor Hayes or simply the Professor and it became a sort of codename. He actively served in the CSOS following the war in an attempt to help acclimate Axel and Rolf to their new environment. He retired from the service in the 1950s and took a position on the faculty at Georgetown University in Washington D.C., but remained an active, high-level consultant with the CSOS for many years.

  Magda Antek: Wife of Polish school teacher who hid Noah and Brygida Dubenski and several other Jews during the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939. Wife of Dobry Antek.

  Marek: Bureaucrat in the Czechoslovakian government who was a contact for Alena.

  Martha Philips: Secretary for Director Ian Johnson of the CSOS.

  Mikhail Petrov: Soviet officer in KGB. Once trained Alena and Alexi.

  Mr X.: In charge of CSOS. Almost nothing is known about him.

  Night Specter: An assassin who is rumored to be a former German sniper, and is credited with the assassinations of numerous people, primarily Soviet officers.

  Noah Dubenski: Polish Jew. Husband of Brygida. Killed by the Nazis in 1939.

  OSS: Office of Strategic Services. Primary intelligence office for the United States during the Second World war.

  PFC: Rank in the United States Marine Corps which stands for Private First Class. PFCs hold the pay grade of Enlisted 2 (E2).

  Prime, the: One term used to describe genetically enhanced super humans.

  Polkovnik: Soviet military rank equivalent with a colonel in the West.

  Red Patriots: A Soviet special forces unit led by the Valkyrie.

  Rolf Smith: Codenamed Krieg by the American CSOS and part of the U.S. Government’s covert action team codenamed Blitzkrieg with his twin brother Axel Smith a/k/a blitz, agent Thomas Flemming a/k/a Canary and Agent Dawn Williams a/k/a Psion. Rolf is the son of Brygida Dubenski and was genetically engineered by Nazi scientists in the early 1940s to have super strength.

  Sava Ruslan: Soviet scientist and agent. Defected to the United States in 1965 and joined CSOS.

  SS: Nazi paramilitary order from 1923 until the end of the Second World War. The SS was found respo
nsible for the majority of Nazi Germany’s war crimes and was the responsible unit for carrying out Adolf Hitler’s “Final Solution,” more commonly known today as the Holocaust.

  Steven Quakenboss: Head of the CSOS Scientific/Technology Development Division.

  Thomas J. Flemming: A highly decorated OSS agent during the Second World War, Agent Flemming—codename Canary—joined the CSOS soon after the war. He is the lead agent for the covert action team codenamed Team Blitzkrieg, which includes Agent Axel Smith a/k/a Blitz, Agent Rolf Smith a/k/a Krieg and Agent Dawn Williams a/k/a Psion.

  USCGC: United States Coast Guard Cutter. Ship in the U.S. Coast Guard.

  Utkin, Polkovnik: A Soviet regiment commander in the 50th Rifle Division and the Valkyrie’s commanding officer.

  Valkyrie, the: The name the Nazis and later the Soviets gave to an almost spectral female assassin that targeted high-ranking Nazis during the Second World War. She was considered a war hero by the Soviet Red Army.

  Volkov, Sergeant: Second in command under the Valkyrie of the Soviet special forces unit known as the Red Patriots.

  Z-Bomb: A zero-point energy bomb, which is far more destructive than nuclear weapons. The Nazis developed one using alien technology. Team Blitzkrieg took it from the Nazis’ Antarctic Base.
