Dyalessia Games: Alex & Christie Page 4

While the two chatted with each other and let the worries of the day slip away, helping them relax some they listened to the music that came from the bands that took the stage. The noise level within the bar increased as more people got off work and spent the Friday night out on the town.

At one point Melody looked over at her sister and grinned. “Dance with me, Chitter.”

“You know I hate when you call me that name. How Bess ever got that to stick, I still don't know.” Alex's smile was amused though to show she wasn't upset about the name. “And I think you are a little buzzed.”

“That's why I want to dance; it'll help me sober up some. So stop being so stubborn and come out on the floor with me!”

“Fine, fine,” Alex said with another laugh before she got to her feet and followed her sister out onto the floor.

Moving to the music while she stood before her sister, Alex kept her focus and concentration on her sister while letting her body move. She moved her hips in sync with Melody's movements or moved her arms the same while keeping up with the rest of how Mel moved since her sister had the lead. She could see – and feel – others watching the two of them, but the two sisters were in a world of their own, letting the thump of the fast music guide their movements.

A few others were also on the dance floor, but the sisters even didn't let the other dancers distract the two of them or ruin the fun they were having as the two laughed with each other or took pleasure in feeling so carefree.

For a while, they stayed on the floor and kept to their own little world through a second, third, fourth, and more songs. When they returned to their table, the two laughed together still and held onto each other because they were feeling the high from dancing so long, and they had sweated a little from the exercise.

“Now I feel like I could drown more than this one glass of wine,” Alex said once she took her place back across from Mel. A sound of agreement came from her sister due to Mel drowning her own thirst with her own drink.

“Alex, would you mind going to the bar and putting in an order for food and getting us another round?” Mel asked once the two finished the drinks they had been drinking and cooled down some from being on the dance floor.

  Alex nodded, “All right.”

“And do me a favor?” Mel said next, causing Alex to pause and look at her sister from where Alex had half stood from the table.

  “What?”

“Flirt with someone at the bar, okay?”

Alex's expression changed to one of contemplation as she searched her sister's face. “What? Why did you mention that?”

“Because you need it and I worry about you. I know that the last date you had didn't go well, but it's been a few weeks, and you haven't been answering any replies are on your profile.”

“Mel! You've been spying on my profile?” Alex sounded like she was upset, and she was a little but she knew her sister meant well, and that Melody was only worried about her.

Melody only smiled a wide smile and made a shooing gesture. “Go, go. I want fries and another drink. Off with you.”

Alex only shook her head at the antics of her sister even as she moved to the woman that filled the bar over the last few hours. A few of them called out to Alex when they recognized her, or she did the same when she saw those that she had seen in the bar before, or sometimes danced, or drank with. Tonight, she only wanted to spend most of her time with Melody.

“Hey, Lucas,” Alex called out once she made it to the bar and was noticed by Lucas. “Mel wants her usual, and we can use another round or two.” Seeing that her order had been heard, Alex looked along the length of the bar, first to the left and then to the right, taking in who had settled onto the stools that lined the front of the long wooden bar.

Alex smiled at anyone that met her gaze as she met their own or spoke to those that were close to her, giving them greetings or some other words if they turned out to be someone else that she had seen in the bar before or vice versa when it came to them knowing who she was.

Then she spied someone new. Her gaze was warm still as she watched the woman who sat at the end of the bar and in a way that made it appear that she was comfortable even though it also appeared that the woman was trying to keep to herself.

Grey boots that came up to her ankles and that tapped along to the music. Black slacks that led to a white blouse opened at the top, displaying a little of the woman's breasts. Pale skin that was freckled across her neck and face. Alex also thought those freckles might spread to other parts of the stranger's body. Red hair that was bobbed, so it was even to her jaw. Emerald eyes that now stared at Alex, and they seemed to become filled with interest but also guarded.

“Alex,” Lucas said, breaking into Alex's stare at the woman and the woman's stare at Alex.

  “What?”

“Welcome back. Your drinks are poured, and Melody's fries will be up in a few minutes if you want to wait.”

Alex nodded and pulled out money to pay. “Okay. Hey... who is that at the end of the bar? I've never seen her in here before.”

Lucas looked down the length of the bar and shrugged. “Dunno. Never seen her in here before either. She might be a traveler or someone that wanted to see what it was like to come drink in a gay bar. Or maybe she came here to get away from being hit on by men.”

  “Huh. Okay.”

Lucas smiled a little and became another that teased Alex. “You like her? Come on, tell me the truth. I can't wait to tell Mel that someone caught your interest. She'll never let you forget and neither will I.”

“Why am I always the one that everyone picks on?”

“Cause we love getting a reaction from you. See, your cheeks already turned red and you're just so easy to tease. We also do it because we know that you won't get upset since you know we don't tease you to be hurtful.”

“True but sometimes... it would be nice to not always be on the receiving end. However, you're right as usual when you said I'm interested in her.”

Hearing Lucas had been called away to serve someone else that was waiting for their drinks, Alex turned back to the woman at the end of the bar. Seeing she was still being watched, Alex smiled in warmth before she moved towards the woman that had caught her interest.

“Hi,” Alex said after she sat down on a stool next to the woman. “I haven't seen you in here before. My name is Alex.”

“Emily. That's right, I've never been here before and that's because this is my first time being in Rochester.”

Alex let that information sink in. “Oh, then what brings you to Rochester? And if you don't mind me asking, how long are you in town for?”

Feeling a smile form on her lips as she caught the woman's quick surprised expression, Alex waited to see what the woman might say to her questions. As she waited, Alex sipped from her drink since she had a little more time to kill before the order of fries would be ready and before she made her way back to the table and Melody.

“Just the weekend,” she heard at last. “As for why I'm in Rochester, it's because of business. I'm supposed to give a lecture and training session tomorrow for some employees of Xerox. That's what I do, you see. I get to fly around the country and teach these seminars for the weekend.”

“Oh. That sounds exciting but also boring and lonely. Exciting because you get to see different places. Boring and lonely because it sounds like you spend a lot of time by yourself or sleeping in rented rooms.”

  “I suppose that's the case.”

Alex winced before giving her head a shake. “Hey, I wasn't trying to be rude or to upset you. I apologize if that's what happened.”

Breathing a little easier, Alex smiled back at the woman when Alex saw the smile that was sent her way. “I'm not offended. That said, you know what I do for a living, so it's only fair you tell me the same thing about yourself.”

“Oh,” Alex said before taking another drink of the wine she was enjoying. “My sister and I own our own business. We're a small game designing comp
any with about twelve employees. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of Dyalessia Games, but that's our baby.”

Alex's laughter came from her as the woman's eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open in surprise. “I love playing my half-elf in that world. I knew it was designed by two women and their company, but I did not understand that the office was based here in Rochester. Could I come see the offices before I have to catch my plane on Monday morning?”

Laughing along with her, Alex grinned and nodded. “Sure. I'll even through in some souvenirs after giving you a tour of the offices. You won't be able to meet all the staff since they're gone for the weekend, but there still should be a couple around in case something happens to the servers.”

“Awesome. How about Saturday night? I'll be free, and maybe you could show me a little more of landmarks and other interests of Rochester.”

“Tomorrow night works for me. I'll come pick you up at the hotel, and we'll go visit your office and have a night out.” Alex smiled again, amused at what happened and how she had a date she hadn't planned on having. Maybe Melody was right about how much Alex had been moping and how Mel was also right that Alex needed to get out some instead of burying herself in her work.

“Alex, you better get these over to your sister before she hunts for her food.”

Laughing again, Alex picked up the basket of fries and the drinks before she looked at Emily. “Hey, want to join us at the table?”

“I won't be intruding? I don't want to feel like that person if that's the case.”

Alex smiled again and gave her head another small shake. “Melody said I needed to get out tonight and to meet people. So I don't think you will be intruding. If she doesn't like I'm bringing someone that interests me back to the table, then she shouldn't have forced me to go out tonight.”

  “Well, in that case.”

The conversation between Alex and Emily continued with ease and with no major awkwardness while the three of them sat at the table. Alex gave her sister a little teasing as she watched Mel plow into the basket of fries sharing none of them with the others at the table. That awkwardness came through once the two were alone at the table after Alex heard her sister announce that she wanted to dance.

“She's a good dancer,” Alex heard after Emily watched Melody for a few moments.

Smiling at her, Alex nodded in agreement. “She's a better dancer than me, but that doesn't surprise me since Melody took lessons when she was a teenager and kept them up while in college. At one point she thought about becoming a professional dancer, but then she changed her mind.”

“Oh? That's interesting. I take it from what you said you also like to dance.” Emily asked as she continued to watch Melody while turning her attention to Alex.

“That's true. When Melody and I get together, we get heads to turn to watch us, but tonight I'm not in the mood to dance with my sister. Plus it looks like she found a few partners already.” Alex grinned and laughed, looking at the two or three women that had surrounded her sister. “They are all going to be very disappointed though when they learn that she won't be joining them for what they have in mind.”

“I take it they don't know she's straight.”

“It seems so. They must be new to the Bar and Grill, or they haven't heard the gossip about my sister and me.” With a smile still, Alex now looked at Emily with a serious expression. “However, I'd like to dance with you, if you like.”

“Um... okay.” Emily knew she would make a fool of herself since she was not someone that danced in public. “Before you pull me out to the floor I want to say I apologize already for how I'll be.”

Alex's laughter was filled with amusement before she gave her head a quick shake. “It's all right; I'll go easy on you.” Then she stood and pulled Emily to her feet before linking her fingers with Emily's and leading her to a spot on the floor where the two of them had room but where they also had privacy away from the others were on the dance floor.

Knowing she had to take it slow with Emily, Alex didn't fall into the wild moves that her sister was doing. Alex liked doing that when she was by herself or with a partner that could keep up with her, but she knew Emily wasn't the person who could do that. Plus she wanted to relax more instead of building up a sweat like she would if she wanted to push her thoughts aside and fall into the music and the movement of her body.

Laughing sometimes at how much Emily seemed to concentrate and pay attention, Alex continued to whisper that Emily needed to relax and let Alex lead. After that happened and their movements matched each other as they stood close to each other and moved to the slow songs that the band played once the woman of the band noticed that there were groups that needed those slower songs for their dances.

Once or twice the two sisters yelled at each other about how one or the other was messing with what the other wanted for the dancing they were doing, causing the band to switch up the music from slow songs to fast ones. That battle kept on for about an hour until Alex grinned at Emily and pulled her back to the table.

“I let Melody have her fun. Besides, she keeps giving me the “what are you doing?” gaze she gives me when I'm doing something she disagrees with. She took me out tonight so I could meet someone and since that happened, she's making sure I don't mess that up.”

Spending time with Emily, Alex relaxed further while finishing a basket of fries she ordered for the two of them since Melody had shared none of the fries. But then again, Alex knew not to even ask her sister to do something like that. When Melody wanted her fries, they were hers! Alex was also feeling a little more relaxed from the second glass of Merlot that she was nursing because she didn't want to get that tipsy or feel the effects of drinking too much alcohol.

Staring into Emily's eyes, Alex was silent for a moment or two even though Emily just asked her something, and she was waiting for Alex to respond. Alex was lost in her thoughts and what she was contemplating. Before she could stop herself or rethink what she was about to do, Alex moved and pressed her lips against Emily's mouth and lips. Once she started the deep kiss, Alex moved one of her hands and ran it over Emily's back and up the back of her neck, holding Emily in place.

With her face flushed from what she was feeling, Alex smiled while looking at Emily more. “Sorry,” she said at last, once Alex got her feelings and breathing under control. “I needed to do that.”

A soft, “It's all right,” was whispered by Emily. At least at first and then Emily's feelings about what happened caused her cheeks to flush from the strong emotions she was feeling from Alex's touch. “That wasn't what I expected as an answer, but I can't say it was a bad answer.”

Alex smiled and her expression turned sheepish. “Right, you asked me something. I don't remember what it was though. I'm also wondering if you would like to get out of here.”

  “Gods, yes.”

Laughing now, Alex stood and helped Emily to her feet before clasping her fingers around Emily's fingers. “Good. I know you have somewhere to be tomorrow, but I'd like to spend the rest of the night with you.”

“Good, I like the sound of that.”

  “Great.”

Ducking down like she was trying to hide, Christie knew Sunny was looking at her with a grin even if Sunny's expression was puzzled. “What are you doing, Christie?”

“Miss Melody and Miss Alexandria are at the bar!” Christie hissed towards Sunny, causing her friend to look across the bar to see that the sisters claim two of the bar stools. Sunny laughed as she looked back at Christie. “So I see, but don't you think it looks weird for someone to sink into the chair they are sitting on? Wouldn't that bring more attention to the person trying to make it appear that she is trying to hide?”

“I hate you sometimes,” Christie hissed again, but at least she sat up straight, even if she felt her blush spread over her cheeks since she realized that Sunny had a point.

It seemed like it was a good thing that the two were sitting in part of the bar that did
n't receive a lot of light, helping keep that part of the bar in shadow. Christie constantly looked across the bar at the sisters, or then just at Alexandria and the woman she was conversing with. At least until Christie watched Alex leave with that woman while Melody stayed and danced with anyone that came up to her and fell into sync with the moves that Melody was doing as she fell into a trance with the music and sunk into releasing all of her stress from the week.

“She's an awesome dancer,” Sunny said at one point, admiring the woman that one of Christie's bosses.

“She sure is. I wonder if Miss Alexandria moves the same way as her sister does?”

Sunny beamed a smile at Christie. “You'll just have to get up the courage to ask Alexandria that.”

“I don't think I can do that! I'd wouldn't even know how to ask such a thing.”

Sunny only shook her head again, amazed that her friend had such a crush on Alexandria but couldn't find the courage to act on the way Christie felt for the woman. The two friends called it a night, heading home after sitting at the table for another hour while watching Melody enjoy herself until even Christie's boss called it a night and headed out.

Their hands were all over each other once they made it outside of the Bar & Grill and that continued even as they flagged down a cab and got inside. Neither paid attention to the driver and how he was glancing in the rear view, giving him a chance to watch the two women that kissed each other or ran their hands over the other's bodies.

It was Alex – once they reached her apartment – that pulled Emily's clothes from her after the two of them were inside and the door was closed behind them. That also gave Alex a chance to pushed Emily against the door and taste her lips some more. At the same time, Emily peeled off Alex's clothes, leaving a trail of both sets of garments around them or towards the couch, which is where the two fell onto once Alex and Emily had enough kisses and touches.

With Alex laying on top she pressed her mouth to Emily's bare skin with heated presses of her lips until Alex reached Emily's breasts. Continuing the way she was kissing the skin she found so fascinated, Alex ran her fingers over the breasts she was facing, giving Emily more pleasure even as Alex felt Emily's hands run along Alex's sides, over her stomach, and up to Alex's breasts.
