“I thought you would.” He nodded and watched me as I sipped the whiskey he’d given me. My throat and stomach burned as I consumed the alcohol, and I felt a feeling of trepidation as he stepped towards me. “You’re a very beautiful girl, Evie.”

“Thank you.” I licked my lips slowly as he gazed at me appreciatively.

“I’m lucky you chose to spend the night with me.” He grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him. I felt his hardness against my stomach and swallowed hard. “It’s not often I meet a girl like you.” He kissed the tip of my nose and I felt his hands cupping my breasts.

“It’s not often I meet a guy like you,” I answered honestly, thinking about my very ordinary life. I leaned up and kissed him on the lips, and his eyes widened in appreciation as he kissed me back softly. His tongue sought entrance into my mouth, and I sucked on it eagerly, enjoying the taste of him more than the whiskey I’d recently consumed.

“So what were you and Tyler talking about?” he asked me softly as he pulled away from me.

“Not much.” I shook my head and gasped as he lifted the back of my shirt up and caressed my ass. I wasn’t sure why I’d lied. I wanted to ask him who Eugenie was and what had happened to her. I wanted to ask him why he was so trusting of Tyler, yet Tyler was warning me to stay away from him, but I didn’t. Something in me told me to keep my mouth shut.

“I want to make love to you again,” he whispered as he bit down on my neck, sucking hard. “I want to fuck you on the couch.”

“What about the grilled cheese sandwich?” I asked softly as he pulled my hand to his hard cock. I squeezed it gently and he grunted.

“Fuck the grilled cheese sandwich.” He pulled me towards the edge of the couch and then pushed me forward over the arm. My ass dangled up in the air and I could feel the cool air caressing me as he slid up behind me. I felt him pull his cock out, and I immediately grew wet as he placed the tip up next to me and rubbed me gently. “Or are you hungry?” He slipped the tip of his cock inside of me and paused. “Would you rather eat first?”

I moved my hips in response, and he growled as he entered me slowly.

  Knock Knock.

We froze at the knock on the door, and Grant pulled out of me and pulled me up.

“Yes?” he called out, annoyed as we turned around.

“There’s something burning in the kitchen, Sir.” Tyler walked into the room and stared at us. I could feel my face burning as he looked at us with an emotionless face. My pussy was still quivering from the feel of Grant inside of me. I bit down on my lower lip as I realized I’d forgotten to mention the condom again. I stared at Tyler’s face, and I could see he was judging me. I wanted to walk over to him and punch the superior look off him.

“Oh shit,” Grant sighed and then looked at me. “I guess we will eat first. I’ll be back.” He strode out of the room and then paused at the door. “Are you coming, Tyler?”

“In a minute, Sir.” Tyler continued staring at me, and I looked at Grant’s face. He looked upset and annoyed, but he didn’t say anything else as he walked away from the room. What was going on here?

“Didn’t you hear me?” Tyler asked softly as he walked towards me.

“Hear you what?” I mumbled as I stared at his murderous blue eyes.

“I told you, this isn’t a position you want to be in,” he growled at me. “Are you stupid?”

“Don’t talk to me like that!” I said angrily. “You don’t have any right to judge me.”

  “I’m not judging you.”

“You can’t tell me you’ve never had a one-night stand before.” I pointed at his naked chest. “But I suppose because I’m a woman, I can’t have one and be okay with it.”

“This isn’t one night.” His eyes bore into mine, and he grabbed my shirt, pulling me towards him, the edges of his hands pressing down on my breasts.

“What are you talking about?” I frowned and swallowed as I looked up into his bottomless eyes. I stared at his lips and swallowed hard. What was wrong with me? Was I seriously attracted to Tyler as well?

“You’re playing with fire.” He stared down at me, and his gaze fell to my lips.

“What?” I licked my lips quickly.

“Stop giving me ‘I-want-you-to-fuck-me’ eyes,” He growled, and I pulled away from him abruptly.

“What are you talking about?” I shouted. “Are you out of your mind?”

“Oh sorry, maybe they were just ‘I-want-you-to-kiss-me’ eyes.” He laughed and shook his head. “Better?”

“I think you should leave.” I stepped back towards the fireplace. “I’ll tell Grant you came on to me.”

“I’m not coming on to you.” He shook his head. “I’m warning you. The big bad wolf is on your doorstep.”

“Then I suggest you leave please.” I squared my shoulders. “If you leave now, I won’t tell Grant what you did.”

“What I did?” He laughed. “I’m not the big bad wolf, Evie.” He shook his head as he walked towards me. He lifted up my shirt slowly and he gazed at my naked body underneath and dropped it. “Though I have a feeling you’ve already let the wolf in, haven’t you? You let him have his first meal, and now he’s ready to dine all night.”

“Get away from me.” I slapped him across the face. “What do you think you’re doing?”

“I have no idea.” He pursed his lips and stepped back. “Obviously, I have no idea.”

“You should leave now.” I bit my lower lip, a headache starting to hit me.

“I don’t know what game you think you’re playing, Evie. I don’t know if you’re a stripper pretending to be an innocent or if your story about helping a friend out is true. All I can say is I think you’re in over your head.” He nodded his head at me. “And now, I’ll leave. Have a good night.”

“Where are you going?” I asked him softly, remembering Grant and the chains in his room. Maybe Tyler being around wasn’t so bad. Maybe I’d made a mistake with Grant. There was something about Grant that scared me, even though he’d been a fantastic lover.

“To bed.” He stared at my legs and then back up to my face. “Alone,” he said slowly, and I gasped.

“You’re a pig.” I shivered. “I don’t want to go to bed with you.”

“Huh?” He smiled and winked at me. “All I said was I’m going to bed alone.”

“I know. I just...” My voice trailed off as I realized I’d made an assumption that could very well be wrong. “Have a good night.” I gave him a weak smile and walked over to the couch. What was wrong with me? I’d come home with one guy, had actually already slept with him, but was now thinking about another guy. A jackass of a guy.

“You too, Evie. Have a good night.” He paused at the door as he walked out. “Try not to think about me later.” He closed the door behind him before I could say anything to him.

“Ass,” I whispered into the empty room as I stood up and walked back over to the fireplace and looked at the photo of Eugenie. Who was this girl? I studied her photo and sighed. She looked young, maybe about nineteen or twenty. She had a huge smile and big blue eyes. Her hair was long and blonde. She was beautiful. Really beautiful. And she was smiling up at the camera with loving eyes. Who was she? And who was taking the photograph?

“What are you doing?” Grant walked into the living room. I spun around, feeling guilty as if I’d been caught doing something I shouldn’t be doing.

“Uh, nothing.” I shook my head and walked towards the couch. “Did you make the sandwiches?”

“Yeah.” He nodded. “I don’t know why Tyler didn’t just take the pan off the stove.” He made a face, his handsome features contorting. “Sometimes I think I should fire him.”

“Why don’t you?” I took a sandwich and nibbled on it.

“He’s like family.” He shrugged. “You don’t fire family.”

“Yeah.” I nodded as I chewed on the sandwich.

“Now, where were you?” He grinned and pulled me towards him. “Let’s
eat and then make love again.”

“I’m feeling tired,” I lied as I felt his fingers reaching down to cup my ass cheeks.

“I think I can wake you up again,” he said lightly, but his fingers dug into my skin a little bit rougher than previously. “We want to make the most of the night, don’t we?” His fingers slipped between my legs, and I shuddered as a finger slipped inside of me. “Don’t we, Evie?” he growled into my ear as another finger slipped inside of me.

“Yes,” I moaned, dropping my sandwich and falling against him. The pleasure coursing through my body made me forget everything. How could he make me forget my worries so quickly? I cried out as a third finger entered me and he moved his fingers quickly in and out of me. “Ooh,” I cried out and bit into his chest. He growled down at me in pleasure at my touch.

“I knew you were a bad girl.” He pulled his fingers out of me and pushed my body over the edge of the couch again. I waited to feel him inside of me again, but instead I felt his hand slap my bottom.

“What are you doing?” I gasped and looked at him as he slapped me again.

“Shh.” He shook his head and grabbed my hips. He smacked me one more time, a little harder this time, and I was about to pull away from him when I felt the head of his cock at my opening again. “Shh,” he growled again as he pushed his hardness inside of me. “Doesn’t this feel good?” He reached under and grabbed my breasts as he started to fuck me slowly.

“Yes,” I moaned as my body responded to his movements. I cried out as he reached up and pulled my hair, turning my face to the right. I shuddered as I felt him filling me up and bringing me close to orgasm already. I felt my body quivering, and for a second I froze as I looked at the mantelpiece again and saw the photo of Eugenie watching us. I bit down on my lower lip as I realized I had absolutely no idea what I had gotten myself into. What had started as a favor to Hailey had taken a crazy turn, and I wasn’t even sure how one night could have already changed my life so much.

  Chapter 36

I woke up before Grant did the next morning. My body felt stiff and sore from our lovemaking. I groaned as I opened my eyes and thought about all the sex we’d had. A feeling of shame and embarrassment swept through me as I realized I’d just had my first one-night stand with a complete and utter stranger. A stranger I’d met as a stripper. Yeah, I wasn’t really a stripper, but I’d been acting as a stripper for the night.

“Morning, Evie.” Grant kissed my shoulder when he woke up, and I turned to face him. I wasn’t sure what the protocol was the morning after a one night stand.

“Morning.” I smiled at him and gazed into his brilliant emerald green eyes. He looked even more handsome in the light of the morning.

“I take it you slept well?” His fingers played in my belly button, and I squirmed on the bed next to him.

  “I did.” I nodded.

“I guess you’re wondering when you’re going to get your money?” His fingers slipped lower and gently slipped between my legs.

“No.” I closed my legs and frowned. The talk about money first thing definitely made me feel like a prostitute. “I wasn’t thinking about that at all.”

“Open your legs.” He nibbled on my earlobe.

“No.” I shook my head and pouted, feeling upset because he thought he could just talk to me as he wanted to and still have me.

“You know you want to,” he whispered in my ear, his tongue licking me.

“Does Tyler live with you?” I changed the subject and turned over to face him more directly.

His hand left the spot between my legs and he stilled. “Yes, of course.”

  “So he’s a live-in chauffeur?”

“Something like that.” His eyes narrowed. “Why do you ask?”

“No reason.” I shook my head and moaned as he pinched my nipples. “I should get going soon.” I gasped as he bent down to suck on my left nipple.

“Were you attracted to Tyler?” He asked me softly as his teeth nibbled and tugged on my nipple. I shook my head slightly as Tyler’s face entered my mind. For one brief second I imagined it was him in the bed with me.

“No, of course not.” I pulled away from Grant, my face reddening in shame. What was wrong with me?

“He’s a handsome guy.” He shrugged. “Very, very built. Like a wrestler almost.”

“You’re as built as any wrestler I’ve seen on TV.” I lightly touched his arm and he smiled.

“Not as much as him.” He smiled and stretched, his chest muscles rippling before me. “Anyway, we have muscles for different reasons.”

“Oh?” I asked him lightly, wondering what those reasons were.

“Yes.” He jumped out of the bed and lifted up the chain from the floor and wrapped it around his arms again. “We have different ideas of fun.”

“Oh?” My heart stopped for a second as I stared at his naked body in front of me. All he had covering his body was the thick steel chain. His cock was hard and standing at attention. I could feel my body trembling as I gazed at it. It looked thick and hard, and all I could think about was how it had filled me up the night before.

“I like to go out and meet girls, show them a good time.” He shrugged as he looked at me. “He doesn’t always approve.”

“I guess that’s not his business, is it?” I murmured, thinking of the warnings Tyler had given me. “You’re an adult and can do what you want.”

“Exactly.” He smiled and dropped the chain on the bed, near my feet. “I’m glad you agree. Some people look at me and think...” He paused as he got onto the bed next to me. “It doesn’t matter what they think.” He smiled and kissed me lightly.

“Who’s Eugenie?” I asked him softly, not able to stop myself from asking the question I’d been thinking about all night.

“What?” He froze, his eyes growing cold as he looked at me.

“I saw the photo yesterday in the living room. Tyler says her name’s Eugenie. She’s very beautiful.”

“He shouldn’t have said anything to you.” Grant’s fists clenched as he gazed down at me with unseeing eyes.

  “Sorry, I didn’t know.”

“Thinking about her makes me feel like I’m dead.”

“I’m sorry.” I bit my lower lip as my brain screamed at me for bringing her up.

“You will never know what I have lost. I cannot breathe without her. I cannot think without her. I cannot be without her.”

“But you’re still here.” I murmured lightly. “You’re still alive.”

“I go through the motions.” He shrugged. “I do not know if that is life.”

  “You’re still alive though.”

“I am.” He nodded, his eyes sad. “Yes, I am.”

“Did you love her very much?” I asked softly, really wanting to know what had happened.

  “Yes.” He said simply.

  “What happened?”

“She left me.” His expression changed. “Enough of this. I don’t want to ruin our time talking about my past.”

“I understand.” I smiled weakly. “Though I think I want to leave now. Will you call Tyler and ask him to give me a ride?” I tried to keep my voice calm. “I have some errands to run.”

“I can’t do that.” He shook his head.

  “What do you mean?”

“I’m afraid I can’t let you leave.” He stepped back from me and shook his head again.

“What?” My jaw dropped as I looked at him uncertainly. “What do you mean?”

“I mean you will not be walking out of the front door today.”

“You can’t just stop me.” I sat up and tried to see if he was joking.

He gave me a short smile. “I can and I will. You need my help.”

“What?” I frowned. “I don’t need your help. What the fuck are you talking about?” I could feel the blood draining from my face. “I want to leave now.”

“Denial is not a good thing, Evie, if your real name is Evie.”

  “What?” My jaw drop
ped as I stared at him, my heart beating fast. “What are you talking about?”

“Your body was so open to me last night. Did you enjoy making love?” Grant’s smile was as handsome as ever, but now I saw behind the facade. The look in his eyes was hollow as he gazed at my body, and I wondered what was going on.

“We had a fun night, yes.” I nodded and pulled the sheets up around me. Asking him about Eugenie had been a mistake. Coming here had been a mistake. Now I was beginning to understand why I’d never had a one-night stand before. I closed my eyes for a few seconds to try and gather my thoughts. Then it hit me. I’d call a cab. I didn’t care how much it cost. I just needed to get out of here. I grabbed the sheet and pulled it around my body as I jumped out of the bed.

“What are you doing?” He frowned as I walked over to my bag and took my phone out.

“I’m going to call a cab. If Tyler is busy today, I don’t want to disturb him.” I offered him a weak smile and opened my phone quickly.

“No, Evie. You’re not calling a cab.” He shook his head. “I just told you, you’re not leaving.”

“You want me to stay another night? I didn’t realize I was that good.” I joked, hoping this wasn’t turning into a nightmare situation. This was just my luck. The one time I decided to be a bad girl, I got caught up in some crazy situation.

“We’ll talk later.” He shook his head. “Go and shower and get dressed.” He walked to his closet. “Here’s a pair of shorts and a top you can wear. They should fit you. No need to put on any underwear. I don’t think the clothes will be on very long.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” I shook my head as he handed me the clothes. “I’m sure you have plans today, and so do I.”

“Don’t you want to stay, Evie? Don’t you want to make the five grand?”

“You know what, it’s fine.” I mumbled. “I’d feel bad taking the money now,” I lied. I still wanted the five grand, but I wasn’t about to say that now. Not when he was starting to act like a psycho. I knew it was smarter for me to just leave and forget the money. I’d chalk it up to a lesson learned and kill Hailey when I got in. I was never going to do her any favors again.
