You can’t satirise it, it’s already doing that itself. You can’t kill it, it’s already dying anyway, probably.
They say your brainwaves hardly move at all when you’re watching TV. And not your fancy box sets, proper TV in its dying years, with its desperate smile and its worry that no one’s watching. TV we all used to watch together.
So, please, just tune in, turn off your mind for a moment. That television that was supposed to rot our minds might just be here to save us all. It’s anathema to our palm friends. It’s silence. It’s retro boredom. It may mean nothing at all. Or once every so often within the nonsense and ‘I’m just doing me’, you might see something that looks a little more like reality than the world outside your other window.
