Twisted Secrets: Dark Taboo Romance (Eddie and Heaven Book 2) Page 9

“Man, I don’t know why you’re still with that bitch.”

The Jersey guy chuckled. “Her pussy is fat, juicy, and quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. Besides, the bitch is loaded, and she’s got low self-esteem, which means she basically caters to me.”

The two of them laughed again and I clenched my teeth, not only against the pain but in anger. I wish I knew Sharon so I could warn her. Not only was her man using her, but he was a criminal.

Once the door to the room we were in open and closed, I grew even tenser. While both men had snatched me from home, one of them sticking a needle into Ashley’s neck to sedate her, before stabbing me in the shoulder and carrying me out of my house, there was a marked difference between them both. The Jersey guy had treated the entire thing like a job. I was simply an… object, for him to obtain and deliver from one place to the other. But the Irish-sounding guy?

He’d sounded excited about everything. Every time he had to touch or grab me. Every time they discussed selling me on the black market. There had been a very distinct edge of elation, of… arousal, in his voice.

It scared me even more than the kidnapping.

  “Finally we’re alone,” he said.

I listened as he walked over to me and caught my breath as he slid his hands up my bare thigh. I’d been dressed in a maternity gown when they’d captured me. Upon bringing me to wherever I was currently being held, they’d stripped me until I was wearing nothing but my panties. For the first time in my life, I regretted not wearing my bra to bed the way my friend, Eden, does.

His fingers stroked my bare thigh, up my distended stomach, to my breasts. I curled my lips inward to stop myself from vomiting all over him and myself. Although, maybe if I did, he would stop?

Or he would slap you so that you fell to the ground. Probably on your stomach. And that would probably kill one, if not both of the babies. Sooner than they’d planned on it. Or he’d just cut your throat in anger.

My subconscious was blunt, but the bitch was honest and rational, two things I needed at that moment.

“You know, I’ve always wanted to be with a black woman. But more importantly, I’ve seen you. At the cookouts. The weddings. You’re so beautiful. Your body looks so delicious. And your smile… your smile makes me so hard.” His voice had grown deeper as he got more turned on, my skin prickling with disgust as he continued to stroke and fondle me. “I think it’s those big, juicy lips of yours. I always dream about you wrapping them around my dick, you know? Sucking this white cock. Gagging on it. Moaning because you love it so much.”

I wanted to tell him that it would never happen. That there was no way in hell I would ever moan because I wanted his nasty ass dick, but I was prevented from doing so when I felt the fingers of one of his hands forcing their way in between my lips. I knew he didn’t just want me to suck on his thick digits, and I was proved right when the head of his dick, leaking pre-cum, slid over my mouth before sliding inside.

And at once, a memory of Zander forcing me to my knees and shoving his dick in my mouth, as he fucked my face, grunting and groaning, one hand holding my jaw, the other plastered to the wall behind me, rose unbidden to my mind’s eye. I shuddered as I remembered the many, many times he’d forced me to service him. The times when he’d made me have sex with him. The times he shoved his fingers inside of my body, whether I was on my period or not. The way he disregarded my wishes. Treated my body like his sex toy. The way he disrespected me.

  The way he abused me.

A strength I didn’t know I possessed soared through my body and up into my face, centering on my teeth.

The ones I used to clamp down on the dirty, disgusting, filthy, rapey dick in my mouth.

The scream of my abductor and the blood I could feel spurting up into my face and my mouth did not disgust me, it empowered me, made me feel stronger. I held on even as he tried to shove me away, as he tried to back up. Harder and deeper I sank my teeth, glad I’d never listened to Ava and gotten the two teeth on either side of my “two front teeth” shaved and evened out. I’d called them my fangs from the moment I saw my first vampire movie, and I used them in that moment. I used them to bring pain to the man who thought he was going to deliver my babies and leave them to die.

The man who had taken me from my daughter and my home.

The man who’d left the note for my husband.

  The man who’d stabbed me.

The one who’d intended to rape me.

  Never again.

I finally released him, and using my bound hands, I shoved the blindfold I was wearing off my face.

I spat the blood in my mouth down at the injured, red-haired man who was currently rolling around on the floor, crying, screaming, and praying.

“Never fuck with a mother,” I told him before I hurried as quickly as my still laboring body would allow me to.

With my bound hands, I tugged on the door of the warehouse and stepped out. I looked up and down the road, unsure of which direction to go, before I took a deep breath and turned to the right. On and on I went, my bare feet shuffling on the packed dirt road, then up onto the graveled street at the top of the hill. This time I turned left and hurried. Seeing the lights of a car coming down the road, I waved my bound hands in the air, crying and begging them to stop.

“Stop! Please stop! Help me! Help me!” I screamed.

I sobbed in relief as soon as the silver Lexus™ pulled over. A black, plus-sized woman climbed from the passenger side, a white man from the driver’s side. She rushed over to me, tugging off her peacoat.

“Oh my god, honey! Are you okay? What happened?” She asked me.

“I w-was k-kidnapped,” I told her through chattering teeth, just remembering that I was practically naked.

“How did you get away?” She questioned as she hurried me over to the backseat, where her husband? Boyfriend? Partner? Friend? Held the door open for us.

  “B-bit his d-dick,” I told her.

She snorted out a laugh. “Serves him right. C’mon honey. Let’s get out of here and get you to the hospital.”

She climbed into the back with me and tugged me against her side. I groaned as a painful contraction ripped through me. She gasped and her pretty green eyes widened.

  “Are you in labor?”

  I nodded.

  “Tucker! Hurry up!”

The car sped up and for the first time in hours, I was able to relax. Doing that, of course, meant that the pain I was feeling came rushing back full force and I threw my head back and let out a scream.

  “Tuck!”

“Tucker” didn’t respond, he simply pressed on the gas and I’d never been more thankful.

We pulled up outside of Fast Track Urgent Care and the unknown woman helped me from the backseat, yelling at the nurses and doctors moving inside. A stretcher was pushed out, three nurses surrounding it, and two doctors following it.

“Congressman!” One of them gasped and it was then that I recognized the face of “Tucker.”

  Congressman Tucker Murphy.

Before I could say thank you, I was being pushed away on the stretcher and rushed away to an exam room, but not before I saw the Congressman grab the unknown woman’s wrist—my angel—and drag her away.

“Sharon! Come on. The doctors have her now. I can’t be attached to this. Sharon! Let’s go.”

  Sharon?

I felt as if I was always running into a hospital for some reason.

I ran up to the nurse’s desk.

  “I’m looking for Heaven Steele.”

The nurse eyed me, and I knew she was assessing the fact that I was dressed in all black. I looked like I could either be a member of the Marines, or like I was a criminal.

  Both, lady. I’m both.

  “You are?” She asked.

  “I’m her husband. Edward Steele.”

/>   Her eyes widened and she looked down at some papers on her desk.

“Her husband? Were you aware, Mr. Steele that your wife was kidnapped, tortured, almost raped, and she had to bite a man’s genitals in order to get to safety?” Her eyes narrowed as she took me in, suddenly finding me wanting.

  Shame flooded my being.

“I knew she’d been kidnapped, but only a few hours ago, and I immediately went looking for her, and as a matter of fact—” I stopped and shook my head. “I don’t have time for this. Can you please just tell me where my wife is, Nurse… Crystal?” I asked, glancing at her nametag.

“Room 6103,” she told me, adding, as I turned away. “Your newborn sons are in the NICU.”

My breath caught in my lungs.

  My sons had been born?

Moments later I stepped into Heaven’s room, relief surging through me at her open eyes.

“Oh god, baby. Thank god,” I breathed as I rushed over.

Heaven held out an arm and I hurried to pull her into my arms.

“I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry,” I apologized, over and over again.

“It’s not your fault,” she reassured me.

I didn’t believe her. It was my fault, but I was going to make things right.

“Eddie,” Heaven murmured, pulling back. “Eddie!”

  I looked at her.

“Listen carefully. I’m going to tell you where I was, what the guys looked like, and who was involved okay? I want to make sure I get this out before the drugs kick in.”

I nodded, then pulling out my phone so I could record it, I sat and listened as my wife told me everything that happened from the moment she’d heard a noise in the house, and rushed to go check on Ashley, before being abducted, to the minute she’d realized that the man who’d assisted his girlfriend with helping to get her to the hospital was not only a Congressman, but also, quite possibly, one of the men who’d kidnapped her. I had to prevent myself from throwing shit around the room. From hopping in my car and going to chase that motherfucker down. Instead, I recorded it all, including how to get back to where she was, then I held her until the drugs she’d been given tugged her down into sleep.

I rose from the bed and stepped out into the hall, needing to take a minute to breathe.

Which was when I noticed Khan, Logan, Carrick, Riley, Galvin, and their women sitting out in the waiting area.

“She’s alive. She’s okay,” I told them. Then shook my head. “I mean, she’s not. She was kidnapped, stabbed, tortured, almost raped, and gave birth to our twins under stressful situations, and without me there, but she will be okay.”

  I’d make sure of it.

“So, you know who the bastards are who did this?” Khan asked.

I nodded. I turned back to Heaven’s room, hesitant to leave.

“Don’t worry about, Eddie. We’ve got her,” Harper said.

Galvin smiled at his wife, then nodded to me. “Yeah, with these women? She couldn’t have better protection,” he assured me.

I jerked my head up and down once, then strode forward. “Since the women are going to watch mine, let’s go.”

“I’m going with you guys,” Niamh, or “Nia”, Andrew’s baby sister, and Carrick’s wife said, her ebony-skinned face pulled down into a look of determination.

I looked over at Carrick, expecting him to deny her, instead, he sighed and nodded.

  “Come on, woman.”

Nia shrugged. “Someone needs to make sure we get justice for my friend. And I so want to have a little chat with this Anya, bitch.”

And while I had been intending to get my own pound of flesh from the people involved—especially the Congressman—the glint in Nia’s eyes scared me.

I was so glad she was on my side.

I looked around the room, expecting to find a bleeding, but still alive, “Irish asshole” as Heaven had described him, writhing around on the floor in pain, or trying to get help for himself. Or hell, even a trail to follow.

  I didn’t expect to find a corpse.

I also didn’t expect that corpse to be one of the lower guards of the McCarthy clan.

“What the fuck is going on?” Galvin growled. “Are we surrounded by fucking turncoats?”

  “Looks like it,” Riley spat.

The dead guard had a dick which had been partially severed by my wife’s mouth, lying in a pool of blood, not just from his groin, but from the bullet wounds to his stomach, his sternum, and his forehead.

“Why didn’t Heaven tell us that she shot him?” Carrick asked.

I shook my head. “She didn’t.” I stepped closer and tugged off the tiny Post-It that was pinned to him, straight through his shirt and into the skin below.

I read the note and knew it was time to go and pay a visit to Anya and Mukhtar.

  Oh Poor, Sad, Clan McCarthy

Your little “family” is full of traitors.

There are so many whom you shouldn’t trust.

So many of your secrets that we know.

So many plans which have been put into motion.

So much chaos and death which awaits you.

  So many more betrayals.

  Sleep well.

It may be the last you get.

  Sincerely,

  Your Friends

“So we went from having “a friend” in this Anya O’Sullivan bitch, to have multiple friends who know that we’ve got a bunch of traitors in our midst?” Nia growled. “I want to talk to her. Now.”

  I nodded. “Let’s go.”

I had a few things I wanted to say to her as well.

I stepped into the room where Anya and Mukhtar were being held and scrunched my nose with a wince at the smell that greeted me.

  The scent and the sight.

Anya and Mukhtar were both hanging from meat hooks. Both of them had bruises covering their bodies. Both of them had their skin flayed from their bodies.

But they were both still alive.

Andrew and Kyra McCarthy were both covered in blood, both of them wearing all black, both holding various weapons in their hands. They each turned to look at Nia, Carrick, and I with a grin.

“Get any useful information out of them?” Carrick asked with a chuckle and an eyeroll.

“Oops,” Andrew said. “I knew we were forgetting to do something.”

Kyra laughed and I shook my head before walking up to Mukhtar.

“So you came for me, my family, my wife because I followed orders and killed your brother in battle?” I asked, wanting to verify things before I killed him.

He stared at me through the one uninjured eye he had left, then spat in my direction.

“I attack you and your brother because you behave as dogs with no honor. You do not meet us face-to-face in battle, instead, you sneak in and you tear families apart. So I do the same.”

I wrapped my hand around his throat.

“Your brother and the rest of his terrorist pals used children to fight a war of their own making. You are the ones with no honor.” I squeezed tighter. “You killed and beheaded a man who had a child. A man who was going to be married. An honorable man. Why? Because you were too afraid to face the shortcomings of your brother. Well, you can join him.”

I released his neck, stepped back, pulled out my Sig Sauer—a gift from Kynan who’d pulled the same gun on me the year before—and shot the coward in the head. I turned to Anya and went to step towards her but stopped when Nia held up her hand.

  “She’s mine, remember?”

I nodded, then went to sit next to a blood Andrew and Kyra as Nia approached Anya, who stared at her, unflinchingly, Carrick at Nia’s back.

She pulled out a sharp knife and ran it across Anya’s stomach, watching as the flesh split.

“You set up my brother-in-law. You h
ad my best friend kidnapped. You put my nephews and my niece in danger.” She sliced the skin across Anya’s chest. “Why? Because your feelings were hurt?” Nia pierced Anya’s thigh, stepping back as the blood flowed heavily from the wound.

“Because Eddie didn’t want to sleep with you more than once?” Nia continued. “Or is it because he picked a black woman over you?”

Anya glared, tears streaming down her cheeks. “Yes. One man that I loved already chose one of you black bitches over me. I wasn’t about to let another one do it and get away with it.”

I stepped toward her, wondering if there was another black woman out there, suffering as Heaven had, because she’d been chosen by a man Anya had wanted.

  “Who?”

Anya cut her gaze at me before turning it back to Carrick.

“Did you enjoy your time with Cormac, Nia?” She muttered, then gave the youngest McCarthy a bloody smile. “I hear he loved it.”

Nia shook her head and stepped back, shaking, until she was stopped by Carrick at her back.

“You should’ve chosen me, Uncle Carrick,” Anya finished.

Nia let out a growl and lifted the hand that was holding her blade, before shoving it in Anya’s chest.

  Right where her heart lay.

Nia stepped back, letting Carrick move around her. He doused Anya’s dying form in lighter fluid, then he and Nia stood back and watched as Nia tossed a lit match at Anya’s body.

I stood with the four of them, as Anya burned. After a while, I turned away and left the room. I needed to shower and change.

I had two little boys I needed to meet.

  Bacon.

There is nothing better than the smell of bacon teasing you awake.

I opened my eyes on a moan and found my husband standing over me, a smile on his face, holding a plate of bacon—and only bacon—in his hands.

  “So… you made bacon…”

Eddie nodded and I could tell he was extremely proud of himself, which both made me laugh, but also made me feel extremely loved.
