He slid a hand down between my thighs and groaned. “So fucking wet.”
I watched as he sheathed himself and then he was there, pressing at my entrance.
I turned my head for a second and noticed the scissors sitting on the nightstand.
“They’re for safety,” he informed me.
He thrust into and I arched as much as the ropes would allow.
With the others, they were so focused on my pleasure, but this I could tell was for both of us.
He teased me with shallow thrusts followed by hard, fast ones. He bit my nipples every chance he got, and then I felt his hand move up my body.
“Do you trust me?”
“Of course I trust you, Bas.”
“Good.” His hand went to my throat and wrapped there loosely.
Periodically the tightening of his fingers increased in pressure until, as we neared the point of no return, Bastien’s fingers cut off my oxygen for just a few seconds.
When I fell over the edge, I spasmed around Bas and his scream of pleasure mingled with mine.
He took a few more photos, including some close ups, before he removed the rope and pulled me close to him.
“Now I think I can sleep,” he breathed against my hair.
“Mmm. Me, too,” came my exhausted reply.
He made me nibble on some chocolate he kept near his bed and sip some water from his mini-fridge, before he tugged the blanket over us.
“Sleep, Kesah. Tomorrow will be a long day.”
Chapter 16
Zaine
It was time to face the music. We’d prepared Arianna the best we could with the short amount of time we’d had. She’d been annoyed when I picked out her clothes—skin tight leather pants, deep red bustier that pushed her breasts us, and knee high boots—but she didn’t argue.
All four of us knew she was nervous, but I wasn’t sure if it was because she was meeting members of the Aegis Council for the first time, or our plan to go to the Underworld afterward.
Bastien opened a portal for us to travel without detection, and after nodding at her, I stepped through. Malik and Dax were at her side, and then Calix, Reylen, and Tanyth stepped through. Bas was the last one through, and the portal closed.
“Breathe, Sweetness. You’ll do fine.”
“Zaine Devonshire, Daxia Mordecai, Bastien Cravaris, Malik of the Tazanoth, welcome. Calix Tenebris, Tanyth Ruvaen, Reylen Versys, welcome.”
The Council member who approached us greeted each of us by name, and then her gaze went to Arianna.
“Child of Kala and Isiah Tenebris, welcome. Come this way, the others are waiting for us.”
We followed her through several halls before we entered a large table. She introduced each of us in turn before she returned to her seat at the Council table.
“Council members, Sarzath, Kree, Amalia, and Lucia, may I present Arianna Tenebris, twin of Calix tenebris, and rightful member of the Council of Aegis.”
I motioned Arianna forward.
She stepped up to my side and nodded at each member. “I know what my parents did was wrong, but they gave me a normal life and I can’t be angry with them for that. Their crime has been punished, and it is my hope that they will be left to live out their lives.”
“It is true they have been punished,” Lucia agreed.
“Your wish is granted. There is something different about you from your sister. What is it, I wonder?” Kree, replied.
“I have learned that we have Demon blood in us and it seems I took after the Demon more than Calix did.”
“Did you now? Care to give us a demonstration.”
Malik had already agreed to be my guinea pig for this, so he stepped forward.
We faced each other and he tried to do what Reylen had done—breech my mental defenses. Black flame shot from my hand and his shadow swallowed it.
“That is most impressive. I assume the four of you wish to continue her training?”
I watched as Malik, Bastien, Dax, and Zaind all nodded yes.
“Very well. We discussed it before your arrival and decided that more training would be best before we test her, given the length of time she lived without her magic.”
I felt the tension leave my muscles and I knew the others felt just as relieved.
“Thank you, Council. With your permission, we will leave you now.”
“You are dismissed.”
As soon as we left the chamber, we all heaved a collective sigh of relief.
“That went so much better than I’d expected,” Bastien commented.
“Agreed. It’s not over yet, though. Now the hard part comes,” I pointed out. “Malik, open the portal.”
Arianna
I watched as Malik opened the portal. Beyond it lay a land of gray and I wondered if that was what all of Hell looked like.
“Remember, Kesah, once we get there, Demons will sense untrained power. Let us do the talking and fighting, if it comes to that,” Malik said and stepped through.
One by one, we followed, and when my eyes adjusted to the different lighting I realized the land wasn’t all gray. It was dusk in Hell, and the portal had opened up next to a mountain chain.
I felt Bas take my hand, and when we all turned in the direction we would need to go to find this Besromuth, everyone froze.
Standing a short distance from the portal was an imposing figure. I felt a kinship with him but I didn’t understand why. Not until Malik opened his mouth.
“Lord Bezromuth, we come seeking an audience, if you will grant it.”
Bezromuth made a motion with his hands and we were suddenly surrounded.
“I have been waiting for you, Arianna Tenebris, child of my blood.”He turned away and we had no choice but to follow.
He’d been waiting for me. He knew about me. What in Hade’s name did I just get myself into?
