His tongue breached my folds, and juices poured onto his lips. He groaned into me, growled at me as he lapped hungrily at my clit. I bucked against him, my mind spiraling as steam enveloped our bodies. I clutched his hair, holding him to me as I ground against him, losing control of my body while his tongue flicked my tip.
“Yes. Yes. Ace. Yes. Right there. Oh, oh yes. This is what I’ve needed.”
I felt him smile against me as his tongue traced my swollen nub. I pressed down against him, feeling him pin my hips to the shower wall. He sucked my clit between his lips, and my body overloaded. It shook for him, quaked for his viewing pleasure as my tits swung against my body.
Juices dripped onto him as he flicked my suctioned tip at lightning speed.
My eyes rolled back as I shook and convulsed. I quivered at his thunderous roar, even though he commanded me with only the smallest parts of him. I collapsed into his arms, feeling him lift me as he pressed my back into the wall.
And as I gasped for air, his lips connected with mine.
He breathed life into me as he sank his thick dick into my body. My walls gave way, opening up for him and spreading me as if it were the first time. I clung to him, digging my nails in as he growled down my throat once more. He plucked my hands from his back and pinned my wrists above my head against the wall, rendering me immobile as our hips connected.
He held me there as if I weighed nothing, hovering above the ground as water splashed over his perfect form.
He pounded into me as I wrapped my legs around him. I locked my ankles, pulling him deeper as he grunted and groaned. I rolled my hips desperately into him, seeking yet another pop as that coil in my gut tightened. His body was perfection—chiseled abs that rolled into me and a rippling chest that pressed against my own. Time stood still. The world outside didn’t exist. I had no idea how this man had so quickly worked his way underneath my skin, but I didn’t care.
I didn’t care for the answer. All I cared about was his dick throbbing against my walls.
“Shit, Dawn. You feel—”
Hearing my voice fall from his lips was enough to throw me over the edge. I arched into him, filling his divots with my curves as I cried out into the shower. He slammed into me, the sounds of skin slapping wet skin filling the small shower around us. He pressed his face into my tits as his hips faltered and my pussy clamped down onto him. My body pulled him deeper into me, milking him for all he had.
And with one last growl, he sank his teeth into my bosom.
I sighed with relief as he filled me up, his hot arousal shooting out from between my legs with every pump. The world tilted with the force of the pleasure he afforded me, and I felt unsteady as I leaned against the wall. He rutted against me like a wild animal, pouring himself into me until there wasn’t a drop left in his body for me.
We slid to the floor, his arms wrapped around me as water battered against our reddened bodies.
As he held me there, I came to my senses. I quickly pulled myself away from him and got out of the shower. The shower could wait. My hair could go up for the day. I rushed out of there, reaching for a towel to wrap around myself.
What the hell had I been thinking?
It won’t happen again. I won’t be that weak again.
I sighed as I hid myself in my closet, waiting for Ace to exit my room.
I saw him look around for me before he sighed heavily. He walked out of my room, and I rushed out, quickly closing the door behind him, then returned to the bathroom and cleaned myself up at the sink. I made myself look presentable, then doused myself in body spray. I got dressed, put on my jewelry, and chanted my mantra I did every morning.
“You are smart. You are strong. You are capable,” I said to myself.
Then, I came out and told Ace to take me to Capitol Hill for work.
The second I came around the corner to head for my office, I was hit with a sight. Officer Kinsey was sitting with his hip cocked against my aide’s desk. And Kennedy? Well, she was blushing from head to toe as he spoke with her. I peeked behind me at Ace before I walked into my office. I grabbed Officer Kinsey’s shirt from behind, pulling him off my aide’s desk. I shot Kennedy a look before I made my way for my desk, hearing Ace close on my heels.
These security guys were becoming a bigger distraction than I could afford.
“Stash!” Ace exclaimed.
“Sir?” the officer asked.
“We need to talk,” he said.
“Send Kennedy in here, will you?” I asked.
Ace nodded at me before we all switched places, ending with the guys outside and Kennedy next to me.
“I’m so sorry, Ms. Fielding. I didn’t—”
“Kennedy, I know you’re new. And I know this isn’t the usual thing aides have to deal with. But we can’t afford to get sidetracked by threats and security guards and whatever else is going to come our way,” I said.
I said it as much for her benefit as for mine.
“Yes, ma’am. Of course. It won’t happen again,” she said.
“Wonderful. Now. We’ve got an important vote coming up on our proposed bill. Do we have enough votes on our side?”
“There are still a few key ones missing. I’ve got them all on your calendar today for thirty-minute meetings.”
“Beautiful. When’s my first one?” I asked.
“In an hour, ma’am.” she said.
“Perfect. Make sure they know I’m coming their way today. Pull all the files I’ll need, and have them ready for when I head to my first meeting. I have a phone call to take.”
“I’ll have it all ready and waiting on the edge of my desk.”
“And make sure that officer stays off that same edge, yes?”
She snickered. “Yes, Ms. Fielding. And again, I’m really sorry.”
Chapter 7
Andrew
I followed Dawn from meeting to meeting, watching and listening. I knew she was annoyed that I was following her by the way she kept glancing at me over her shoulder with a soured expression on her face. But this was my job. And after telling Stash to stop flirting and to start protecting, I logged my own reminder to keep my fucking hands to myself.
But watching Dawn in action made that very hard.
I watched her single-handedly convince other representatives to support her proposal for increased educational funding. One by one, they fell like dominos, with nothing to go on but her pitch and her word. It was amazing to watch. Dawn was smart. Persuasive. She talked a big game, and it was obvious she really cared about the issues at hand. Healthier lunches for children. Equal-opportunity funding of education for those from low-income neighborhoods. Those reps in her meetings didn’t stand a chance against her.
Sure, I’d been attracted to her from the moment I laid eyes on her. But watching her work? Seeing the passion for children in her eyes? Seeing her fight for the future of this country through the eyes of those still vulnerable to the system? I felt my emotions running deeper than that.
Something that had never happened with anyone in my life. Much less a woman.
I’d followed her around for a long time. She’d been at this for hours, meeting after meeting, phone call after phone call. I watched her push through her lunch break without eating, sucking down coffee after coffee to keep her head in the game.
I called down to the cafeteria and had them bring something up to her office under the guise that she was safer there than out in the open.
“I can’t stop to eat. Just give me a second,” Dawn said.
“Just a few bites. You haven’t eaten since last night,” I said.
“I wonder whose fault that is?”
She grinned at me, and my heart slammed against my chest.
“Sit. Eat with me. Just take ten minutes,” I said.
And with a sigh, she sat down to eat with me in her office.
“Do you think you’ll have enough votes to pass your resolution?” I asked.
“If I don’t this time around
, I’ll only push harder next time. But I’m hoping there won’t be a next time,” she said.
“You promised this to your constituents, didn’t you?”
“Not just for them. One day, I want children as well. I’d like to be able to give them the education they deserve. The country they deserve.”
Her tenacity was outstanding, and learning more about her was enthralling. I hung on her every word and drank up whatever it was she had to offer up about herself.
“Do you think anyone would buck up against that stubbornness? You know, with trying again?” I asked.
She laughed. “They already are. There are old men and women in office that feel this type of thing is the last thing our country should be focused on. They want healthy and educated generations to come, but they don’t want to focus on the issue right now? It makes no sense to me. They’re idiots.”
I grinned. “Tell me how you really feel.”
Her eyes whipped up to me at that comment, and I saw something flash behind them. Something scared. Something vulnerable. Something that made me want to reach out and hug her.
But I resisted the urge.
We finished eating quickly, and after that we were headed to our next meeting. The two of us got into an elevator with a white-haired man, and the air around us instantly changed. He looked down his nose at Dawn as if she was shit on the bottom of his shoe.
I instantly bristled as I stood behind the both of them.
“You’ll never get the votes you need,” the man said.
“You’ve overestimated your colleagues’ desire to be called callous unfeeling assholes, unlike yourself,” Dawn said.
I rolled my lips over my teeth to keep from chuckling. The old congressman’s face was priceless as he sneered and exited the elevator. But when the doors closed back on us, Dawn sighed. Her shoulders slumped.
Something was wrong.
“Who was that?” I asked.
“Just the chairman of the board I’m currently going up against,” she said.
My eyebrows rose. “Is it smart to be pissing him off like that?”
“That man is a thorn in my side. Has been from day one. He’s an old fart who’s too stubborn to realize how stupid he’s behaving.”
I chuckled. “As long as you know what you’re doing.”
“I didn’t get to where I am now at twenty-six without knowing what I’m doing.”
Oh, I enjoyed her fight. Her spunk. Her spirit. I enjoyed following this woman around and learning more about her. The elevator doors opened and we headed to our next meeting, where I watched yet another old domino fall to her words. She shook hands with the man who promised his vote in approval for her plan, and then the two of us made our rounds around the floor.
The woman was a force to be reckoned with.
But that man in the elevator just became my number one suspect.
Chapter 8
Dawn
“It’s getting late. You should knock off for the evening,” Ace said.
I sighed as I typed away at my computer, completely aware that the sun had set.
“I just need to finish a few—”
“Dawn,” he said gruffly.
My eyes whipped over to him, and I found him standing there, his hands clasped behind his back, staring me down with those piercing eyes of his.
“You’re in control of my safety, but not my job. Let me finish, and I’ll let you know when I’m ready to leave,” I said.
He seemed satisfied enough with my answer. Though, I could hear his stomach growling from across the room.
I could have spent another two hours in my office getting things done, but I wrapped it up quickly for his sake.
“We should grab dinner before we head back,” he said.
“When do you think I’ll be able to get back to my condo?” I asked.
“When this perpetrator is caught and you’re safe.”
I was already growing tired of the constant guards, the funny looks people were giving me as Ace followed me around my office. I was tired, and I wanted to sleep in my own bed, not the flimsy, musty mattress in that cottage.
“I just want to sleep in my own bed,” I said.
“I know you do. Trust me, I do, too. But, we have to keep you safe, and that safety comes with the safe house until we can be sure no one is going to come after you in your own home,” Ace said.
I watched him pull into a pizza joint, and I furrowed my brow.
“Pizza? The grease alone will—”
“Trust me, this is my favorite spot. This place can fix any potential woes and ill feelings with their food. Come on,” he said.
“Can’t we just—?”
“It’ll change your life, Dawn. I’m serious.”
“Pizza has already changed my life. How do you think I got these curves in the first place?” I asked, giggling.
His eyes whipped over to me before they fell down my body, making me shiver without his fingers ever touching me. His eyes made their way back to me before he got out of his car, expecting me to follow him.
And I did just as his silent command wished of me.
We got inside and ordered, but I was hesitant on how good he proclaimed this food was. But after a few bites of the four-meat pizza we ordered, I was a convert. I’d never had pizza like this before. Fresh meats, Parmesan crust, baked just right, with very little grease to contend with. The cheese tasted fresh, like it was pulled from a dairy farm out back or something.
I hummed with every bite I took, and Ace quickly ordered us another pizza to dive into.
We talked over dinner with our mouths full and smiles on our faces. Ace told me about a grandmother who once brought cookies laced with pot into a famous senator’s office. And while I laughed over it, I had a story that one-upped his. I told him about the time a brother and sister duo had gone on a little road trip, coming to every single one of my town hall meetings to advocate an end to anti-incest marriage statutes.
“You’re kidding me,” Ace said.
“Not one bit. They were kissing and everything. Arrested on the spot for it, too,” I said.
“I literally have nothing that one-ups siblings kissing one another and advocating to get married.”
“I’m telling you, politics is a whirlwind. It’s not just schemes and plans and diabolical wishes to take over the world.”
He chuckled, and I found myself laughing with him. Relaxing in his presence. Feeling at ease around him, as if he were a friend.
As if he were something more than that.
Your constituents, Dawn. Don’t forget about them.
I cleared my throat and wiped at my lips. I picked up my drink and washed the pizza down, staving off my want for more. It didn’t matter that Ace was funny, and kind, and strong. There wasn’t any room in my life for him, or for a relationship right now. I had to focus on the kids, on the future of this country. Maybe when I could get my resolution passed and fulfill my promises, I could reach out to him. But that was a long time in the future. And by then, he would have moved on anyway.
Because men as wonderful as him never stayed on the market for long.
Chapter 9
Andrew
I inspected the safe house quickly before I let Dawn in. But I let her in reluctantly. I didn’t want the night to end. I watched her walk over to the sink to get a glass of water, and I saw the tension in her shoulders. I heard the way she sighed. Without thinking, I walked up behind her and settled my hands against her back, massaging and feeling how many knots she was carrying around in her back.
“Do you ever get a massage?” I asked.
Dawn chuckled. “Are you going to tell me you’re a massage therapist as well as a security force member?”
“I mean, I’m ex-military, too. If we’re rattling off accomplishments.”
“Of course you are. A man who does it all.”
I grinned. “I’m a Renaissance man. I can do anything. Including getting rid of this tension you’re carryin
g around. You’ve got to be in some pain.”
She shrugged me off and turned around, gracing me with a smoldering look.
“Have your way with me, then. If you think it’s something that needs rectifying,” she said.
She wrapped her lips around the rim of the glass, and my mouth went dry. I knew she meant the massage, but a million other things bombarded my mind. I licked my lips as she sipped on her water, then placed the empty glass in the sink.
“Go lie down on your bed. I’ll be there in a second,” I said.
“I love a man who knows what he wants,” Dawn said, giggling.
Every single hair on my body stood on end at her words. I walked into my room and grabbed some oils I kept on me in case I needed them—oils to help with aches and pains, or to help my muscles warm up and calm down. I grabbed a couple of them I knew Dawn could benefit from, then walked through the cottage to her room.
I found her lying on her stomach on her bed, with nothing but a small towel covering her ass.
Holy fuck.
I cleared my throat as I kicked off my boots. I stripped down to nothing but my boxers and my undershirt. I climbed onto the bed and squirted oil all over her body, listening to her hum and squeal with delight. I rubbed it slowly into her aching muscles, starting with her neck and working all the way down. Her body gave itself over to me. Her hums turned to moans as my thumbs slowly worked out a few of the knots I’d found.
I wanted to behave myself. I wanted to keep things clean for tonight.
But the feel of her skin underneath my palms was too much for me.
“Oh, right there, Ace.”
My hands fell into the crooks of her thighs, and I watched her hips raise.
“That’s the spot,” she whispered.
The woman was practically inviting me, and I was weak when it came to her. I massaged the inside of her thick thighs, feeling them warm and redden at my touch. Her pussy jumped. Her ass cheeks jiggled underneath the towel. I hopped over to the other leg, listening to her whimper in disappointment.
I explored every inch of her body, covering her in oils that made her glisten and sigh with relief.
