Intrigues of the Lunar Fae Court

With a sudden push, he threw me back on the bed. “My turn.”

Cade moved over me again, his lavender-hued eyes looking deep into mine. Before I could ask what he was thinking, he suddenly claimed my lips possessively and pushed me into the mattress, his hand moving to palm my breast. He squeezed hard as he continued to kiss me.

Lust stirred inside me, making my insides throb with need. Lost in a sea of sensations, I felt his warm hand palm over my bare pussy. A gasp escaped my lips but Cade continued to kiss me while his finger gently caressed the inside of my slit. His thumb brushed over my clit.

I moaned out, my eyes rolling back as my chest heaved with erratic breaths.

Cade trailed kisses down my chin, moving further south to reach my breasts. He popped a nipple in his mouth and sucked hard while his finger continued to work me into a frenzy. My body arched away from the bed, the intense sensations almost unbearable.

  “Cade,” I moaned.

  “Feel good, my queen?”

  “Yes.”

The tension in my body grew in intensity, driving my need higher. Heat rose in my cheeks as I looked into his eyes. My inner walls were clamping hard. I desperately needed him inside me.

The corner of Cade’s mouth lifted in a cheeky grin. He knew exactly what I wanted.

  “Please, Cade.”

“Please, what?” he asked, feigning innocence.

Another moan escaped me as his fingers stroked my clit harder, threatening to unravel me. My fingers clutched the sheets underneath me as I tried to hold onto myself.

“Let go,” he whispered in my ear, and with a cry, I obeyed, feeling my whole body tremble with the force of my orgasm. Intense pleasure coursed through my veins, warming me to the very tips of my fingers.

When the pleasure faded away, I became aware of the cold draft skimming along my stomach. I lay completely naked with Cade beside me. The hard, heated flesh between his legs probed my thigh. My gaze went down and found him completely bare too.

“Cade,” I breathed, knowing what was coming.

“I am yours,” he whispered, cupping my face with his hands. He looked so sincere at that moment, I felt a sob choke my throat. Those simple words meant so much to me. With a smile, I raised my lips to kiss his luscious lips.

Wetness gathered between my legs, anticipating the moment when his thick shaft would penetrate me. Heat coursed through my veins as I watched him lower his body onto me.

“Relax,” he whispered, rubbing the tip of his cock against my damp folds. I could feel his heat seeping into my sensitive flesh.

“Cade,” I moaned as my pussy throbbed with need. “Please…”

Positioning his head at my entrance, he captured my lips between his. The kiss was distractingly slow and sweet as he inched his head through my tight opening.

My fingers gripped onto his shoulders as he pushed in harder, slipping a few more inches into my slick channel. Pulling out all the way, he thrust in hard, this time burying himself to the hilt in me. I gasped out at the sudden breach of my tight channel, digging my nails into his back.

“Relax,” he said, staying completely motionless.

I felt impossibly full with his thickness fully inside me. Slowing my breaths, I tried to relax my body.

Even though this wasn’t my first time with him, I still felt a little vulnerable, both physically and emotionally. However, when I met Cade’s soft gaze, my doubts disappeared. I really loved this man. He protected me and stayed by my side when I needed him most. Even when his mother was against me, he stayed loyal to me. I trusted Cade completely.

My insides clamped onto him hard as my core throbbed with desire. The sudden pain ebbed away and pleasure took up its place.

A moan hissed out of him as he slowly started moving inside me. My walls stretched to accommodate him. It was still such an unfamiliar feeling that it took a while for me to get used to it. Cade kissed my lips softly, patiently hitting me with slow, languid strokes.

“Are you okay?” he asked, staring down at me.

“Yeah,” I said. “I feel so full though.”

He chuckled, moving down to kiss the side of my neck. His pace picked up and soon my body was thrumming with intense sensations as his cock kept hitting me at a certain angle.

Moans escaped me as I felt his lips around my nipple while his hand squeezed the other.

Cade’s groans of pleasure soon mingled with mine. He was thrusting harder now, driving me to greater heights of ecstasy. My hands gripped onto his shoulders as I spread my legs wider, making him sink onto me.

I could feel his restraint on himself as he pushed inside me. His teeth grazed and pulled at the skin of my neck as he continued to move inside me. I was gasping for breath, needing more from him.

  “Harder,” I moaned.

He complied, plunging inside me with harder thrusts. Delicious friction built up inside me and I craved it like nothing else in my life.

My insides tightened. I could feel something about to snap within me as he slammed into me.

“Cade,” I whimpered, my fingers digging into the muscles of his broad shoulders as a sweet ache throbbed between my legs. I cried out as I suddenly came unraveled but my voice was drowned by Cade’s mouth on mine.

Waves of pleasure cascaded down my body and for a moment, I was lost to everything but the intense heat spreading through me.

“Moira.” Cade groaned my name, still thrusting into me. “It feels amazing to be inside you.”

I could feel tension building deep inside me again. Cade was close to his own pleasure as he thrust inside me hard and fast. In his frenzy, he bit me a little harder on the sensitive skin of my neck. I gasped from the sudden pain but next moment, he swiped his tongue over the sting, soothing it immediately.

I gazed up at Cade, taking in the expression on his face. He was at a breaking point, pain and pleasure crossing his beautiful features as he plunged inside me.

Another cry escaped me as I came undone a second time. My walls clamped hard onto his shaft, making him shout out and come to a sudden halt.

“Fuck, Moira!” he bit out, his body shuddering against mine. His thick cock throbbed hard against my pulsing core as we both gasped and groaned from the intense pleasure rippling through our bodies.

Cade was gentle when he pulled out of me and lay back on the bed beside me. As the intensity of my climax ebbed away, I felt dampness between my legs, dripping onto my thighs. I turned to the side to face Cade.

He pulled me against his chest and left soft kisses on my cheeks, forehead, and lips.

Our legs tangled together as he brought up a sheet to cover our cooling bodies.

“That was incredible,” I whispered, gazing into his soft sea-green eyes.

He chuckled but he was glowing with pride. “Did it help take your mind off things?”

“Yes. I can’t remember what was bothering me so much.”

Cade cackled like an idiot and pinched my cheek. “Tell me you’ll miss me when I go back to Aelia.”

I pouted, losing the momentary happiness that came with the afterglow. “Why did you have to remind me of that? I don’t want you to go back at all.” Wrapping my arms around him, I wound a leg over his. “I always want you to stay with me.”

His lips stretched into a broad smile as he moved to kiss my lips again.

“It will be a while before that but my brothers and I will definitely make it happen in the future. You will be our queen and live with us. Together, we’ll rule our kingdoms.”

  “Don’t forget Lucia.”

Cade laughed. “Of course, not! Our brave heroine will also stay by your side.”

I smiled at that. Serenity and calmness stole through me at once. My eyelids felt heavy. My eyes closed just as Cade covered our bodies with a blanket. Within minutes, I’d succumbed to a peaceful slumber.

  One year later

The boat drifted down the stream, lazily following the water c
urrent. Moonlight created ribbons of silver on the dark surface. Lights from the market on the banks gave enough illumination so I could admire the beautiful woman lying on my lap, her long legs spread before her.

“You were so right, Lucia,” I said, looking down at her. “We have to enjoy the fruits of our labor from time to time. This is so much fun. The night market looks amazing! It’s even louder and more crowded than the Troll Bazaar of Lost Sanctum.”

Lucia hummed with a bright smile on her luscious lips.

I stared out at the people crowding the streets of Cataria. After a year’s labor, we’d finally been able to bring stability in Amaris.

Vishen and his cronies’ wealth helped a lot to buy grains and other necessities from other fae kingdoms to aid them in recovering from the poverty they’d been subjected to for close to two decades.

I’d also canceled taxes for the next five years. The palace functioned on a skeleton staff at the moment but it was fine. My people’s wellbeing meant more to me than showing off in front of the other monarchs. I didn’t care what they thought of the lackluster Moon Palace and its dearth of maids but I couldn’t care less.

Since the time Cade left, I hadn’t gotten the opportunity to leave Amaris. There was always too much to do and always some urgent matter for me to look into. Without Lucia’s help, I’d be truly lost. However, we were able to set up a semi-democratic administration that resembled the clan system from before Vishen wiped them away. People were allowed to choose their representatives but those selected individuals would still have to go through tests to prove their skills and worth.

The whole set up drove me and Lucia exhausted but the results were before our eyes. People looked happy and well-fed. There was no disease. No one was begging on the streets. Children ran wild among the shoppers, laughing their heads off about something. Women gathered around stalls selling trinkets and silk, happily haggling to their heart’s content.

My heart swelled at the sight. Lucia had dragged me out tonight for a secret date. Surrounded by work and the palace staff, we rarely got the chance to be ourselves and relax. She smuggled me out of the palace tonight, so we could have some fun like a regular couple.

Lucia straightened up and bought a jar of wine and some snacks from a passing vendor’s boat. The seller didn’t recognize us at all, passing us by on his boat without a backward look.

“Here, have some,” said Lucia, handing me the full, sloshing jar.

I took it from her and drank a few sips. The wine was surprisingly sweet and lit a warm, pleasurable warmth in my gut.

“Do you like it?” asked Lucia with an excited look in her eyes.

  “Yeah.”

“I used to get drunk on this wine and sleep in a boat for the entire night,” said Lucia with a nostalgic grin on her face. “Most times, I had no idea where I was in the morning. It’s a good thing I can fly or my family would have lost me a long time ago.”

“You sound like you were really naughty.”

She shrugged and took the wine jar from me. Taking a few large gulps, she let out a contented sigh. She nestled against me once again and raised her lips to mine. I didn’t even hesitate to capture those lips between mine. No one knew who we were. It didn’t matter who saw me kissing my mate until she was panting and her cheeks were flushed red.

“Would it be too bad if we ran away somewhere for a while?” asked Lucia as she gently nipped my earlobe.

I chuckled and felt heat pool between my legs. “I don’t mind running away for tonight,” I said. “How stable is this boat?” I asked, leaning down to kiss her deeply again.

Lucia’s fingers gripped my shoulder as I kissed a trail down the side of her neck. “Quite…ahhh…stable,” she murmured. Her body shivered as I chuckled, sending a gust of warm breath on her sensitive skin.

“Great! We don’t to worry then. I don’t even mind getting lost somewhere with you.”

The wine sent warmth shooting through my body, relaxing me even more. I settled down beside Lucia. She had to stay pressed up against me because the long, narrow boat didn’t have any more space. My gaze went up to the night sky. There were no clouds tonight, allowing a peek at the beautiful stars that studded Amaris’s sky.

I couldn’t believe the moment I was living right now. My past life seemed like a dream that was steadily fading away. When I’d lived for a few hundred years being Queen Moira of Amaris would I even remember what happened to me? Yes, you will never forget, a voice said in my mind. Because forgetting it would mean forgetting the sacrifice your parents made for you.

“What are you thinking about?” asked Lucia. Her fingertips were trailing down my nose.

“Just thinking about how lucky I have been,” I said.

I thanked the Fates for letting me meet my mates who completely changed my life. Without them, I would still be the scared, powerless high school girl who feared to look at a man straight in the eyes.

Lucia kissed me once again. The taste of her sweet tongue and the intoxicating fragrance of her scent chased away all thoughts from my mind. Closing my eyes, I let myself drown in her.

  Six months later

  The Sun Palace of Aelia

Dressed in an ostentatious gown of silver gossamer, I sat at a long ornate table with the royal elders of Aelia. Never in my wildest imagination did I think I would be seated with King Drustan, Queen Brenna, and Royal Consort Lady Ingrid as an equal, but here I was, sipping goldflower wine from a golden chalice and staring discreetly toward the stranger opposite to me.

Lady Ingrid was Leon’s mother and Drustan’s second wife. She had the same fiery-crimson hair as her son but her long, silky tresses were neatly gathered in an elaborate bun. I could see the similarities between her and her son. It was obvious whose genes Leon inherited more.

I glanced at Queen Brenna too. There was a gentle look on her face I’d never seen before. She looked almost…kind.

King Drustan looked imposing in a navy blue robe, heavily embroidered with gold thread. The beautiful man I’d once spoken to in a garden at night was still present in his kind blue eyes but he seemed to be in control of his emotions now. He looked stronger too.

“I am so glad to meet you,” said Lady Ingrid in a gentle voice. “Leon can’t stop talking about you.”

I flushed with pleasure and smiled at her.

“Cade is that way too,” said Brenna. A regretful expression came over her. “I wish I hadn’t pushed him so hard for my selfish reasons. My son deserves better and I am glad he has you.”

“Thank you,” I whispered, lowering my head to hide the heat pooling in my cheeks.

The last time I met Queen Brenna and King Drustan, the circumstances had been vastly different. King Drustan was in grief while Queen Brenna was running a dictatorship show. I was merely a pawn in her hands back then. The change in both the king and the queen was so vast, it felt like I was meeting strangers with familiar faces.

While this was my first visit to the Sun Palace in over a year, I received frequent letters from Rowan, Cade, and Leon. They all spoke of the changes that had come over the queen after she revealed the source of her involvement with Coran. Drustan took charge of her punishments, not allowing Rowan to interfere in the matter.

Rowan wasn’t keen on going down a path of revenge. He let his father take control of the situation. What happened between them was a mystery but Queen Brenna had lost her previous arrogance and cruelty. She looked calm and quiet. When she spoke to Lady Ingrid, her speech was respectful. Leon was no longer kept away from seeing his mother and father.

I found it easier to forgive Brenna now. She was manipulated by Coran all through these years. He was the one who misinterpreted her words and committed heinous crimes against the people she loved. I was glad he was rotting in the dungeons of the Sun Palace just like Vishen. Traitors like them deserved nothing more.

I sipped my wine and watched the three people before me interact with each oth
er. There was warmth and kindness between them. It didn’t seem like they held any animosity for each other. I could only hope I would have the same relationship with all my mates after centuries had passed between us.

I lay back in the grass, enjoying the feel of the sun on my face. Living in Amaris, I rarely spent much time in the sun anymore. I was used to sleeping during the day now.

The heady scent of ripe peaches wafted into my nostrils. Breathing deeply, I looked up at Rowan. My head was in his lap while my feet were propped on Cade’s thighs. Leon stood in the distance, furiously slashing at a canvas with his paintbrush.

“This place is so amazing,” I said, looking around the ancient ruins around me. “It’s great no one comes here so we can be ourselves and relax without any eyes on us.”

“This is where we have our secret meetings,” said Cade. He was massaging my toes but kept slipping his hand further up from time to time.

“This is our place and now yours too,” said Rowan. His fingers caressed my hair gently.

It was heavenly to be sandwiched and pampered this way between Cade and Rowan. My time with them was always rare and precious. While they came to visit me in Amaris from time to time, the three of them could never come together.

Both Cade and Rowan were busy bringing change to their administration. They wanted a similar model like Amaris. For Lucia and me, it was easier because the old system was completely destroyed. There wasn’t much resistance to our new policies. Our people were looking forward to these changes. It wasn’t the same for Aelia. Even though Coran and other traitorous nobles were imprisoned, the kingdom still functioned in the old ways.

It would be a while before the changes could fully take effect.

King Drustan would also leave the throne soon. He and his two remaining mates would be leaving the kingdom to travel for some time to come. Rowan would be taking the throne but Cade was there to help him in all matters.
