They made love for close to an hour. Soon, Kenneth began to groan in the heat of pleasure. He was finally reaching his climax.
“Right there! Yes... I love you!” Chloe yelled. Kenneth went wild with passion. He increased the pace, finally blowing his cum inside her.
He rolled off to the other side of the bed. They began to pant for air after heated lovemaking.
Kenneth walked down the stairs down to the large living room. It was almost time for Kenneth to cut the cake. Mrs. Kings was so delighted to see her son. They hugged each other as Chloe looked on in surprise. It was clear to her now why she reacted the way she did about the necklace.
Chloe could also notice how a lot of female guests threw lustful glances at Kenneth. She sighted Jacob’s sister in the crowd. Memories of her childhood came flooding back and she sighed with relief. She was so glad her life had changed the way it did.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome the guest of honor as he comes to cut the cake." A middle-aged man spoke into the microphone as the crowd cheered.
Kenneth received the microphone from the master of ceremony.
"Thank you, everyone. I'm so glad to be here. Before I cut the cake, I want to thank my mom for her love and patience. And to my girlfriend," pointing to Chloe in the crowd, "...whose love got me back to my feet. I thank you, friends, and everyone who's been a part of this."
Kenneth cut the cake as the crowd cheered.
Soon, it was time for the ballroom dancing. Chloe's sister walks up to her for a hug.
“Hey Kelly, come with me.” Jacob’s voice was recognizable, even to Chloe.
Kelly, however, refused to oblige him. It was at that moment that Jacob Alder appeared out of nowhere, grasping Kelly's hand. They were almost going to make a scene when Kenneth asked two hefty guards to escort Jacob out of the ballroom. A tall fellow, one of Jacob's friends, tried to intervene. He seized Kelly by the hand. He was dragging her through the door when Chloe grabbed a fork and stuck it on the hand of the assailant.
Two hefty guards carried Jacob and his injured friend out of the ballroom. The whole crowd cheered Chloe’s bravery.
Latin ballroom music filled the air, dissipating the intensity that was thick in the room. Kenneth held Chloe’s hand, leading her to the dance floor.
“I’ve never seen that side of you before,” Kenneth whispered to her.
"Me, neither," Chloe responded.
“After today, I won’t keep forks in my house anymore.” They both chuckled.
"I've meant to give you one more gift," Kenneth beckoned to his mom. Mrs. smiled as she walked up to them, handing a ring to Kenneth. Kenneth went down on a knee as the whole place froze up for their moment.
"I love you, Chloe. I love you so much that I can't bear to spend another day without you by my side. Please, marry me." He handed Chloe his mother's ring, a classic halo diamond ring.
Chloe froze up for a moment, then said in almost a whisper, “Yes, I’ll marry you.” Joyous applause greeted the newest couple before the music went live again.
Epilogue
Five months later...
Kenneth and Chloe flew down from Mexico to Denver in the US on a private plane. Their wedding was set to happen in a few days. Kenneth suspected that Chloe had been keeping something from him. He had tried to question her about it, but she wouldn't tell him anything.
Kenneth's family chauffeur came to pick them at the airport. They finally settled at their family house at Arvada, waiting for the wedding day.
Kenneth's childhood friend, Mark Ives, and his young family also arrived a few days later. Mark was a successful Hollywood actor who moved to Los Angeles after he graduated high school in Arvada, Denver. He was married to a TV presenter, Donna. Their kids, Kayla and Liam, traveled to Denver with them.
Kenneth was so fond of Liam, Mark's two-year-old son. Their daughter Kyla, also loved him. They were inseparable, and it made Chloe jealous sometimes. It was a fit of harmless jealousy that showed how much Chloe wanted to please her man.
On the morning of the wedding day, the couples prepared for the grand event. The wedding was set to happen at Kenneth’s former high school. The school principal wanted to do one favor to one of their own who had been philanthropic to their cause over the years. The auditorium was converted into a fairyland.
Mrs. Kings expressed her surprise at the large crowd that came to witness the wedding.
“My God. I thought we had plans for a moderate number.” She told her son.
“I’m honored that they could make it mom,” Kenneth responded.
Former clients, including natives from San Miguel who could afford to make the journey, were not left out.
A highlight at the wedding was when the officiating priest asked the crowd, “If you have anything to say about this union, speak now or hold your peace.”
A beautiful blondie stood up in the crowd, causing a prolonged murmur amongst the group. Kenneth frowned at her in surprise. He recognized the Irish lady.
Chloe, noticing the look on the face of her husband-to-be, said in a low whisper, "You’ve got to be kidding me. Who invited her?"
"My name is Sonia," she said softly with a frown on her face, "I just want to say, Chloe, you're a fortunate woman." She sat back down, killing the tension in the hall as the procession continued.
Before Chloe read her vows, she said, “I have a confession to make.” Another tension began to build up again.
“I’m pregnant, Ken. Just eight weeks along. I wanted to surprise you,” Chloe whispered to him.
Tears rolled down Kenneth’s eyes. He kissed his wife before they even started the ceremony.
Tia was the maid of honor at her friend's wedding. She and the groom's best man wouldn't stop staring at each other. They eventually disappeared together while Ken led his wife to the hotel room, they would be spending the night in before their European honeymoon.
They had a bright future ahead of them and Chloe pressed against Ken after they made love, whispering to him about everything he gave her already.
