Susan stopped by the room where Cindy was getting ready. “I just wanted to tell you how glad I am that you’re marrying Jamie. I wanted to welcome you to the family.”
“Oh, Susan. That means a lot to me.” Cindy hugged her almost-mother-in-law.
“You make Jamie very happy, which is all I ever wanted for him.” Susan’s face lit up and her eyes sparkled with joy.
“He makes me happy, too.”
Susan squeezed Cindy’s hand. “You look lovely.”
“Thank you.” Cindy spun around in her simple, white dress. “I love this dress.”
“It’s the perfect dress for you.” Susan smiled. “I’ll see you outside.”
As Susan left, her father came into the room.
“You ready to do this?” Her father held out his hand for her.
“I am so ready, Dad.” She was. Her heart was full of love and she was so sure of her decision.
“I think you’ve made a good choice, marrying Jamie. He’s a fine young man.”
Cindy took one last look in the mirror. Her hair hung in curls around her shoulders. She wore simple white flats. She took a deep breath, placed her hand on her father’s arm, walked outside onto the beach, and down the aisle to Jamie. Her heart soared as she took each step closer to him. Jamie reached out and took her hand when she got to him.
Jamie turned to her father. “Don’t worry, sir. I’ll take good care of her.”
“I’m sure you will, son.”
Jamie squeezed her hand, leaned close, and whispered, “You look beautiful.”
They said their vows and the minister pronounced them husband and wife. Suddenly she was Mrs. Jamie McFarlane. Everything fell into perfect place in that one moment. Together they would navigate through life, sharing their dreams.
Jamie kissed her slowly and thoroughly and everyone burst into applause. She took his arm and walked across the sand, back down the aisle as husband and wife.
At the end of the aisle Jamie whispered, “Are you happy, Dream Girl?”
“I am. I did get my wish after all. My wish at Lighthouse Point. I got my perfect wedding.” With that, Cindy stood up on tiptoe and kissed her husband, the perfect man to share the rest of her life.

About the Author
Kay Correll writes stories that are a cross between contemporary romance and women’s fiction. She likes her books with a healthy dose of happily ever after. Her stories are set in the fictional small towns of Comfort Crossing, Mississippi and Belle Island, Florida. While her books are a series, each one can be read as a stand-alone story.

Kay lives in the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs which she likes to incorporate into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, working in her garden, or playing with her puppies—two cavaliers and one naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Kay and her husband also love to travel. When it comes to vacation time, she is torn between a nice trip to the beach or the mountains—but the mountains only get considered in the summer—she swears she’s allergic to snow.
