Her knees curve inward when I drag the four-day old stubble on my chin over the silky smooth skin on her stomach, but her hands remain un-balled.

I love that almost as much as the taste of her skin.

A soft purr escapes her parted lips when I gently nibble on her soft flesh. I take my time worshipping a body that displays both her strength and her beauty.

When my lips finally reach the seam of her panties, I slide my finger down the damp cotton material clinging to the folds of her greedy cunt. “Ahren, you’re saturated.”

As my dick stands to attention, I lock my eyes with Justine’s over the thrusting globes of flesh on her chest. I tell her everything I plan to do to her body, and exactly how I plan to do it without a word leaving my lips.

When she nods, happy with my selection, I hook my thumb into her panties, yank them to one side, then circle my lips around her clit, impatient to taste her once more. I eat her with hungry, insatiable licks until evidence of her excitement drips off my chin, and my cock is knocking at the zipper in my jeans, begging to be freed.

He’ll have to wait, because I’ve not yet had my fill.

“So fucking sweet.” I drag my tongue up her wet heat before swiveling it around swollen clit. “Tangy.” I suck her clit into my mouth, producing a throaty moan to ripple between her parted lips. “Bitter.” I release her clit after giving it a teasing tug with my teeth. “The tastiest cunt I’ve ever eaten.”

Moaning, Justine rakes her fingers through my hair so she can hold my mouth hostage to her drenched cunt like she did her breasts. I love that she’s showing me what she wants, but her hold limits my movements, and I’ll be fucked if I eat her cunt with only half the intensity it deserves.

After snatching up her wrists, I pin them to each side of her hips. “A real man eats without assistance.”

I do precisely that for the next five minutes. I fuck her with my tongue, teeth, and lips before directing for her to fuck me back just as violently.

“Ride my mouth like you ride my cock, Ahren. Fast and without restraint.”

Without additional prompting, Justine arches her back until her ass is inches off the wooden floor before she rolls her hips upward. As she rocks against my mouth, my tongue pays dedicated attention to the firm bud still sensitive from our multiple exchanges the past thirty-six hours. I hit her clit with rapid fired hits, arousing it more with each flick.

After several cock-thickening minutes of her riding my mouth, my wish to taste her arousal reigns supreme. “I’m starving to taste your arousal again, Justine. Don’t make me wait any longer than I already have.”

Within seconds of my confession, the quivers of an orgasm shudders Justine’s thighs.

“That’s it. Come for me, Ahren. Give me every scream. Let the world hear what I do to you.”

Her eyes lift to the ceiling as she chants my name on repeat. When I slide my hands under her ass to arch her back more, her screams louden.

“I don’t want to miss a drop,” I growl on a moan before smashing my mouth with her still clenching slit.

Her arousal floods my tongue when I eat her as if I’m starving. She shudders uncontrollably, her moans lyrical gold to my ears. She tastes fantastic, just as I imagined, and Roman was right. One taste was never going to cut it. You can’t eat the most delicious cunt you’ve ever eaten, and not go back for multiple helpings.

Once the shudders overwhelming every inch of Justine weaken, I give her clit one final tweak with my teeth before locking my eyes with her spent face. “Just like everything you do, you come with perfection.”

I kiss her clit, soundlessly promising we’ll meet again soon before crawling up her body. I’m about to kiss her mouth as hungrily as I did her cunt, but the ping of a cell phone stops me. It’s most likely Roman calling for the umpteenth time today, so I should be able to leave it, but since my bid to takeover Vladimir’s throne commenced earlier than planned, I don’t have much choice but to answer it.

Sailing blind toward a storm isn’t an option for me right now. I need to play a smart and skillful game that won’t just stun Vladimir, it will also keep Justine safe.

When my cell phone buzzes again, announcing I have a voicemail message, I inwardly curse. Roman only ever leaves a voicemail when it’s important.

Justine watches me with wide, panicked eyes when I make my way to the coffee table to check my phone. Well aware we’re on borrowed time, she doesn’t say anything. She just awards me a trust I don’t deserve but am grateful to have.

Roman’s message isn’t business related, but it is extremely important. “Three of the men from Justine’s video are dead. One is serving life behind bars, and the other two are still based in Hopeton.” I hear a noise that sounds like a jet taking off before Roman continues, “I’d tell you to let bygones be bygones, but I know that isn’t how you operate, so I will await further instructions instead.”

I lower my phone from my ear before sending Roman a quick message.

Nikolai: Forward me the deets, and organize the jet for a trip to Hopeton.

Not waiting for his reply, I toss my phone onto the coffee table before making my way back to Justine. I was born a killer, so my wish for a bloodbath shouldn’t diminish as quickly as it does when Justine locks her eyes with mine and asks, “Everything okay?”

It is as if she truly sees the real me.

I jerk up my chin. “Yep. Just laying down some foundations.” I’m about to start a war, but Vladimir’s throne isn’t the front runner of my campaign right now. Justine’s freedom is.

When the slightest hue of orange peeks through the cracks in Justine’s curtain, my focus shifts for the second time this morning. During one of the many conversations we’ve had today, Justine mentioned her busy schedule has stopped her from seeing the lights of Vegas. I tried to explain that she didn’t need to be anywhere near the strip to see Vegas in all its glory, but with communication not being my strong point, she didn’t quite understand what I meant.

She might have more an idea if I show her.

Sunrises have a special place in my heart. They prove that even the darkest night can end with something beautiful, and the next day starts a brand new page.

After peeling Justine off the floor, her body extra limp from the number of orgasms she shook through today, I head to her bedroom. Even with her eyes drooped with exhaustion, her hunger for friction on her skin still beams from them when she burrows her head into my chest.

She’s so convinced I’m feeding off the tension crackling between us, she audibly gasps when I wrap her bedsheet around my arm before moving away from the bed we’ve wrestled on many times today. When I stop by the balcony door, the pulse fluttering in her neck extends to her lips. They tremble as her breathing shallows to a pant.

I don’t know what she’s panicked about. I wasn’t lying when I said I’d kill my entire crew if one of them saw her naked, so there’s no chance in hell I’d parade her around while she undressed. I can’t even guarantee my fists will remain unbusted when she’s clothed. Just the thought of anyone looking at her has me wanting to go on a rampage.

I take a moment to cool the fury scorching my veins before draping the bedsheet in front of Justine’s body. Only once I’m certain every inch of her is covered do I step out onto the balcony.

After sitting in a cracked sun lounge squashed in the far back corner of the space, I tug on Justine’s shoulders until her back is braced against my chest. I’ve heard her scream my name more times than I can count today, but the need to have her skin on mine hasn’t weakened in the slightest.

Justine peers at me with stitched brows when I say, “You said you’ve never seen the lights of Vegas. I can’t take you to the strip, but I can show you the best show Vegas has to offer.”

When I nudge my head to the gray sky mottled with streaks of orange, a range of emotions cross her features. She understands the upside of a new day, but just like me, she knows today’s sunrise is more significant. The fake
, sadistic-free world we’ve been living in the past four days is about to come to an end. It would be nice to pretend we could stay in this world forever, but you can’t win a war if you don’t turn up to the battle.

“Do you know every sunrise is unique? It isn’t defined by the night before’s sunset. It’s free to do whatever it wants.” I run my hand down Justine’s arm, acting ignorant to the bite marks that stole her freedom as brutally as my birth stole mine. “That’s what we’ll do, Ahren. We will live every day as if it's a new one.”

Her breath fans my chest when she sighs. “We’re going to have an uphill battle. We’ve got the world against us, Nikolai.”

I shake my head, arrogantly dismissing her worry. “I’ve got it all worked out. You just wait and see.”

She peers up at me with an arched brow. “You’ve got everything worked out?” Fighting not to smile at the sass in her tone, I nod. She almost rolls her eyes, but since she sees nothing but honesty in my hooded gaze, she switches tactics. “Am I going to get a say in any of this?”

There she is. My angel is fanning her wings in preparation for battle. She’s not scared of the war I’m starting, or wondering if I’ll win. She’s showing that even angels who’ve had their wings clipped can still fly high.

After giving me a few minutes to see the strength in her innocent-looking eyes, she asks, “So what’s this brilliant plan you’ve got hiding up your sleeve?”

My first thought is to lie. I don’t want to scare her before fully acclimating her into my life, but the thud of her pulse stops me. Her heart is beating in the same rhythm as mine. It’s a steady, reliable thump that proves my fight will be even stronger when I learn I don’t have to go it alone.

I lick my dry lips before awarding Justine a trust I’ve never given anyone. “First, my attorney needs to get this fucking thing off me. It’s annoying as fuck.” I tap her ankle with my monitoring bracelet, announcing that she was always on my team even when I tried to remove her from it.

When she smiles, understanding my request, I add, “Second, we’ll get things straight with your brother. If it wasn’t for him, your fine ass wouldn’t be heating my cock right now.”

Up until thirty seconds ago, I was torn on what direction to take with Maddox. I appreciate that he took on Justine’s debt, which saved her from being killed by a vicious animal trained to kill, but I fuckin’ hate that even after seeing what the Petrettis are capable of, he has maintained ties with them. That alone had me convinced he deserved everything happening to him.

Only while watching the sunrise did I realize how different this day could have started if Maddox hadn’t stepped in to help Justine. She wouldn’t be here, with me, preparing to take her throne. She’d be dead. That isn’t a probability. It is a fact. Col was so heinous, he didn’t save his own children from being slaughtered when given the chance, so he would have never called off his dog for a woman he didn’t know.

Maddox saved Justine, and for that alone, he will forever be in my debt.

My eyes drop to Justine when she says, “And the third? Everyone knows good things come in threes, Nikolai. So, what’s the last item on your wish list?”

As the devil inside me rises from the ashes Vladimir pushed me in thirteen years ago, I mutter with a grin, “I’m going to kill my father.”
