Ethan finishes the last spurts then rolls me over as he lays down without losing our deep connection.

“I want you inside me forever,” I moan, without restraining my demand.

“Done,” he husks, pulling me into his arms and spooning me, so I’m nestled under his hard but comforting wings.

My man wraps his leg over me, drawing me closer and kisses my neck as I fall into a hypnotic trance.

  Ethan

Two weeks after returning from my clandestine trip to Boston, Rylie and I take Caden to the beach. His mother, not surprisingly, has disappeared to Las Vegas, or was it Reno? Needless to say she didn’t commit to a return date, not that it would have mattered much if she had. My son hunts for his beloved treasure glass along the shore and comes running with the brightest pieces to present to Rylie. His little gifts of affection made her smile, and that in turn makes me the happiest I’ve been as a man and a father in years.

“Can we come to the beach again tomorrow?” Caden quietly asks when Rylie was absorbed in some algae along the shore, just far enough away that we can talk in secret.

“We have a special date tomorrow,” I answer.

  “You do?”

“I told you, bud,” I explained patiently, “I’ve got a secret surprise for Rylie. Remember?”

He giggles, and his face blushes with excitement. “Does she know?”

“Shhh,” I whispered. “No, she doesn’t know. If she knew, it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

  “Like a birthday.”

  “Exactly.”

The three of us finish the day building a sand castle and decorating it with the less worthy pieces of sea glass and broken shells that Caden elects not to take home to his growing collection.

That evening I pick up Rylie at home.

“You look beautiful,” I say as she greets me at the door.

“Thank you,” she replies, smiling with her sparkling brown eyes, so alive they send heated chills right down to my gut. “Good night, Dad,” she calls out over her shoulder.

“Night,” Frank shouts from the kitchen.

He and I had a long talk when I returned with Rylie. In spite of his concerns, he gave her his blessing and threatened to send me on a suicide mission if I mistreated his baby girl. I could promise him with complete sincerity that I would be the kind of man any father would want his daughter to fall in love with. He accepted that and admitted he was ecstatic I’d brought her back to the islands. He missed her more than he could put into words. I had no such trouble.

“I missed you like a fucking desert storm misses rain,” I tell her more than once.

Leaving the house, I take her hand to lead her to the car. I make damn sure we maintain skin contact all the way to the restaurant.

“That was delicious,” Rylie says after the waiter has cleared our plates.

“I’ve taken the liberty of pre-ordering dessert.”

“You have?” she questions in a sultry voice. “I thought I was going to be your dessert.”

“I’ll have you for post-dessert dessert,” I announce. “First one, nowhere near as good as the second, is a double chocolate brownie with freshly made macadamia nut ice cream.”

  “I’m already hot,” she whispers.

Winking at her, and then blowing a kiss, I slide my hand up her thigh under the table. I don’t stop until she shivers and her eyes pop wide with shock that I’m going to stroke her folds while she has to sit nonchalant surrounded by patrons.

She sighs, leans back, and reveals enticing glimpses of her cleavage above the plunging vee-shaped neckline in her dress.

“The valley between your boobs is naked,” I say. “I have something to fix that.” Reaching into my pocket, I bring out a small paper gift bag with a little red ribbon. “Caden wrapped it for you.”

She takes the bag with a quizzical smile and opens it. “It’s beautiful,” she says pulling out a necklace with a single pendant. “Wow, this is special.”

I ask, “Do you recognize that piece of sea glass?”

She holds it up. “It’s the color of your eyes,” she observes. “Is this the piece Caden found the first day I took him to the beach?”

“It is,” I confirm. “He wanted you to have something special to remember that day.”

“It’s amazing,” she says opening the clasp. “Will you do the honors?”

“Of course.” I take the chain and she lifts her curtain of hair. The exposure of her bare neck starts my dick unfurling, her skin is so delicious. I lock the piece in place around her and it falls into place between her breasts.

“Wow,” I say, “it’s so pretty hanging there.”

Our waiter sets the decadent brownie between us. We both reach for the same spoon.

Rylie’s hand lands on mine, and we laugh.

“Your fingers are naked, too,” I say.

She looks up at me with surprise on her face. Her brown eyes reflect the tremendous implications of the moment. “You mean?” she shutters, barely able to contain her excitement.

“Yes,” I say as I bring out the second offering of the evening.

  My offering to my love.

I reveal a small black box.

She squeals with delight and says, “No? Really? Honest?”

“Yes, Rylie. I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?”

I flip open the lid and reveal a sparkling ring set.

The diamonds reflect brilliantly as she takes the ring in her hands. She looks into my eyes. “Yes, Ethan, I accept,” she announces with confidence through the tears sparkling her eyes.

Smiling at me, she speaks to my heart and soul with the three most beautiful words I've ever heard, “I love you.”

I take the ring and slip it onto her finger.

We lean towards each other and join our lips as the entire restaurant bursts into wild clapping. Rylie laughs and looks around like she’d forgotten we were surrounded. I run my fingers through her hair. She pulls my face closer as her tongue speaks a sweet and silent language as it dances with mine. I drop one hand to her new pendant, rolling it in my fingers, I can feel the edge of her breasts against the back of my hand. My entire being is caught up in her. My cock is thumping in time with my heart. My heart is beating in time with my increasing desire. I might be about to explode with happiness.

As we slowly come down from our passionate interlude, the waiter brings the champagne and pops the cork. I pick up the spoon and feed her a generous bite of chocolaty goodness.

She mirrors me, and I find myself with a mouthful of warm gooey, sugary delight.

“That better be the second best thing in your mouth tonight,” she says.

I lean over, inhale her tongue, and vigorously make out with her before the hint of our shared dessert has time to recede. The combination of tastes and textures sends me to the edge of sanity. “I promise this dessert will be only the third or fourth best thing in my mouth tonight.”

After dinner, we walk along the shore in Waikiki. We place our shoes in the fine white sand and allow the gentle foaming surf to cover our feet. The moon is half-full, and a spattering of stars can be seen in the clear sky. The fragrance of salty ocean drifts in the light breeze. I take both of her hands into mine and pull her into an embrace. “I love you, Rylie.”

“I love you back,” she whispers in my ear. “Take me to bed?”

Silently, I nod a ‘yes’ and we stroll, determined and passionate lovers, to a room which will soon be overcome with the scent of our love.

Once the door to the world shuts, we are anything but patient.

Clothes fly everywhere as we undress in a frenzy. I lift her to the corner of the bed, spread her legs, and plunge my cock without hesitation into her soft folds.

“Ooooh…poo….ah,” she responds to my drilling.

I stand before her, holding her feet in the air, while her ass rests at the edge of the bed’s corner. I can vigorously thrust with all the power of my legs and hips in
this position, driving the head of my cock past the opening of her tight slickness and into the depths of her cavern. I squeeze the arches in her feet, run my hands down her calves, and then grasp her toes.

  “Oh God!” she shouts.

I can feel her pleasure dome clench and squeeze my dick while I increase the rapidness of my pumping. “I want to see you come, Baby. I want to hear you come, Baby. I want to hear you scream as you come.”

“Oh, yes! Yes! Yes!" she cries as she arches her back, looks up and moans through an orgasm from start to finish. I feel her pussy gush. I lean over her and gently bite the calf muscle along the back of her leg. She responds by thrusting her hips in short, hard pumps, milking out the last of her climax even as I approach mine.

“Come in me, Baby!” she shouts.

“I’m getting close, closer, closer, oh God,” I manage to say as my balls slap against her ass and my engorged cock gets ready to shot the man-juice they’ve been storing up all evening.

“Look into my eyes,” I demand of her as my body tenses.

She opens her eyes even as she grits her teeth and lets out a guttural moan. She comes up again, me following her, and we both exhale in spent pleasure as we slowly end our combined orgasmic thrill. “I love you,” she gets out between pants for air.

I look at the rock, newly placed on her finger, and realize I’ve never loved before.

“I love you, darling. Now and forever.”

  Chapter Epilogue—One Year Later

  Epilogue

  One year later - Rylie

The blue Hawaiian sky is dotted with small puffy white clouds. I can’t believe how easily dreams can come to be reality if you focus on what you want. With Ethan’s support, constantly uplifting my confidence, I got through the bar second shot. Now I’m working my dream job, on the beach with my turtles and dolphins most work days.

Like today - when I can hear the crashing of the waves against the cliff below the spot we chose, high above the endless Pacific for our special day.

Ipu music floats in the air, intertwined with the perfume of exotic flowers. I take my father’s arm as he walks me down weathered and worn travertine steps to a pathway through a pristine Japanese garden. A curving pond follows our path, and brightly colored orange, gold, and white koi swim under floating water lilies. In the distance, the light surf splashes on the shore mixed with the shouts of children playing.

I’m told that it’s good luck to hear the sounds of playful delight on your wedding day.

My father looks over the guests who’ve come to celebrate my special event with me and his face is bursting with pride and happiness.

My mother looks up and smiles. She and Charles realized that Ethan and I had such an unusually deep love, they agreed to give their blessing and support without any drama. I’ve never felt so cared for by my parents, who’ve shown over the last few days that they could put aside their differences and show me how much they loved me.

Past the rows of guests, stands Ethan with his best man, who barely stands as tall as his hip. Little Caden’s chest is swollen like a turkey with his own pride and he looks so cute dressed in a matching tuxedo. They both look like movie stars at the Oscars.

Ethan looks directly into my eyes, even from a distance, I can feel his love pierce through me.

Caden’s smile melts my heart. At his seventh birthday party, a few months past, he secretly told me that he wouldn’t mind—too much—if he had a baby brother. I laughed and said, “I’ll keep that in mind, but it might be a sister.”

He looked at me and thought about it a long while, “That will be okay, too. I guess.”

The ceremony continues like a fairy tale unfolding in a dream.

When the time arrives, I say, “I do.” I mean it more passionately than I’ve ever meant anything.

Then I get to savor Ethan’s lips on mine as my husband for always until the applause and cheering of our friends and family gently pull us back to the ground. We move gracefully, arm-in-arm, through the crowd and they shower us with compliments and blessings. Our day follows magically from one moment to the next with dancing, food, champagne, more dancing, pictures, cake cutting, and finally the announcement that we were headed to Maui for our honeymoon.

“Congratulations,” my father says. “Remember never to let her down. Or there will be consequences.”

“Thank you, Frank,” Ethan replies. “I’m grateful for your friendship.”

“It’s not Frank, anymore, son,” he says to my groom. “You’ll have to call me Dad or Sir!”

Everyone laughs, and Caden pulls on my sleeve. “Is it time?”

“Yes. Everyone, Caden would like to know what you’d all like to be called. Grandpa, Papa, Nan, Grammy, or something different?”

“We’ll figure it out over another piece of cake, Caden,” my mother says. “I think I like 'tutu' because that’s Hawaiian for grandma.”

I smile and take Ethan’s hand.

It’s good to be so loved by everyone around us.

  Another Year later

On our one year anniversary, I thought blissfully of our honeymoon suite at the Four Seasons on Maui, a gift from my parents, which was filled with fresh flowers, fruit baskets, chocolate, and spirits. We blissfully soaked in a massive tub filled with bubbles while sipping tall glasses of bubbly pink champagne. I caressed Ethan’s face, and he nipped on my ears while telling me how much he loved me. I felt like a fairy princess, then, and I still do today.

The rest of the week on Maui was filled with magical fantasies.

From making love that first night as husband and wife to swimming and snorkeling with green sea turtles to the Hawaiian Luau in Lahaina we attended, it was all a dream come true. We took a tour up to the summit of Haleakala in the early morning to watch the sun rise in the east, followed by a thrilling downhill bike ride that took us past lush green fields and forests of flowering trees. We ended at the seashore after a marathon distance of downhill coasting, symbolic it seemed of my relationship with Ethan.

All the beauty reminded me of how much I wanted to devote my career to helping save the environment, working to make the planet cleaner and to preserve endangered animals.

Ethan had helped me study, and I passed the bar on my second attempt. I am now working at his friend’s environmental law nonprofit, and we’re seeing great things happen through our efforts to leave our children a better world.

Speaking of children, Caden is going to get his wish. A baby brother—or sister—is on the way. We confirmed my pregnancy only a week ago, and we’ll soon have a small party for our friends and family to announce the growth of our home.

In the islands, they have a word that means everything good, “Aloha.”

That’s how I feel about my life.

  Dad’s Royal Buddy

  Chapter ONE

  Kennedy

  “Daddy, are you listening?”

“Yes, Baby, I hear you. A huge powerboat just parked right on the beach.”

My father doesn't even look up from staring at his phone like he’d like to smash it. He’s a speedboat fanatic, anything speedy really. So if me telling him a long black cigarette boat had just pulled up onto the powder white sand didn’t drag him away from his conversation, then I can’t imagine anything would.

“The aliens also set down their craft right beside it there are green men all over the Croisette.”

  “Hmm, mm,” Daddy says.

“Is everything okay?” I ask, looking away from the commotion on the beach beside that over-showy craft, the Mediterranean beach bum billionaire version of a mid-life crisis sportscar.

It’s probably owned by some ancient guy with a huge white belly he wears like a medallion, his shirt open to white thick fluff all the way down his chest.

“Of course. Don’t worry about a thing, baby girl.”

Daddy’s face contorts into a mask of composure that does nothing to disguise the tremendous burden he’s trying to hide from me. This vacay h
alfway round the world was supposed to eradicate the trials of the past six months when my mother threw daddy out of the house, hired the most expensive lawyer she could find and proceeded to take him to an expert steam cleaners that wiped out every one of his assets. He’s been WhatsApping with his lawyer ever since we sat down at this beach front cafe on the Croisette in the South of France.

He’d ordered two glasses of champagne from the waiter, presumably to keep me entertained.

  “What are we celebrating?”

“Your first trip to Europe, of course,” he’d smiled knowingly and pulled his ringing phone from his shirt pocket.

He glared at it then his face kind of collapsed. When then waiter returned with the two flutes, daddy told him he’d made a mistake. That he’d ordered one champagne and a beer. I knew something was up if my father was making up lies like that and his stress has kept increasing. Perhaps coming to France was a mistake. All this expense for him to be too far away to relax.

He won’t tell me anything other than not to worry. But if my mother got a big settlement in the divorce that was finalized last week, he definitely doesn't need the expense of our fancy old hotel, or forty dollar glasses of fizz.

“So what shall we do today?” I ask nervously.

I feel for my father, I don't know whats going on at the other end of that phone but I hate that he’s looking so stressed. And him trying to cover it up only makes me worry more. It’s like when I was little and he’d hide the tension between him and my mom from me. Like I couldn't pick up on the vibes.

“Sorry, Baby Girl, work stuff.” He slams the phone down on the table so the glasses rattle and looks up at me forcing a smile up his lips. “What were you saying?”

“I wondered whether you wanted to do anything other than hang out at the beach.”

“Actually I was thinking I might look up an old school friend. He lives out here. Literally out there actually.” His eyes reach longingly out to sea.
