“You didn’t!” she said. “I thought these were a bitch to get.”
As she took a bite of the Macintosh apple, I couldn’t take my eyes off her profile.
“Wasn’t that bad,” I said nonchalantly. I wasn’t about to tell her that I’d gone to five different grocery stores until I’d found one that had them. I had wanted it to be memorable. This was going to be our last time together, before I left for New York. It had to be perfect.
I shook my head and got up.
Damn that Jordan, what the hell would he know about missing an ex? I was just stressed, that was all.
