“That hurt! Can’t you wear flat soles if you are gonna stamp on everyone?” Mathew asked her.
“Are you telling me what to wear now? What are you my dad?!” she growled at him.
“So how’s your CD collection going?” he asked Sakshi.
“Wha! ….” Sakshi coughed as her food got stuck in her throat.
She then helped herself with plenty of water and even drank Sakshi coffee without asking.
“Hey that’s mine!” Natasha yelled as Sakshi drank it all.
“Sorry!” Sakshi’s said.
“So….about your –” Mathew continued.
“Are you coming to the trip?” Sakshi asked him cutting him off.
“Well I want to but I have no friends,” Mathew told her looking at Natasha.
“Well I can help you there,” Sakshi said looking at Natasha who was busy eating.
“Well that’s good,” Mathew said as he continued with his meals.
“Damn him!” Sakshi thought to herself.
The Trip
Everyone was excited that day as they all got together at the meeting point were the tour bus waited.
Mathew as usual arrived with three other guys.
“Your late…..again!” Sakshi informed him.
“Why do you always make everyone wait for you? Me and Sakshi had such a hard time making them wait because of you!” Natasha added.
“Who are they?” Natasha asked him pointing at his companions.
“Oh these are my band mates,” he said. “The tall ones Greg, the one with the braids is Salim, and the this fellow is Sukesh,” taping the shoulder of the guy with piercings.
“Yo! This guy is like a god of awesomeness,” Salim told her fist bumping Sakshi.
“Glad to know,” Sakshi replied.
“We’ll be ready for our first gig in about 3 months,” Greg added.
“I’ll be rooting for ya homies,” Sakshi told him.
“We owe you one dwag, don’t forget,” Salim added.
“Show some respect she’s not a dog,” Natasha scolded them.
“What’s her problem man?” Salim said looking at her.
“Ahh…..haha haha don’t take her seriously she misunderstood…. right Natasha?” she asked looking at her friend.
“You got some weird friends,” she told Sakshi.
“Your the weirdo bitch!” Salim yelled at her.
“C’mon chill out man! Be cool!” Mathew intervened.
“Okay! Its getting late lets go!” she told and everyone went in the bus.
“I don’t like your friends,” Natasha said as they were in the bus.
“They are Mathew’s friends too,” Sakshi reminded her.
“He can handle himself,” she said.
“And so can I, besides don’t be my mom one dad is enough headache already,” Sakshi said.
“Can’t believe ya like that bitch,” Salim whispered.
“Dude don’t judge em just cause you met em for like 5 minutes,” Mathew told him. “She’s a nice person just too honest that’s all,” he added.
“Don’t butt in his life man,” Sukesh told Salim.
“Its his life dude…..his mistakes, his regrets that’s how you learn,” greg told added.
“Whatever,” Salim said putting on his headphone.
Mathew then turned sideways and kept staring at Natasha.
Sakshi caught him starring at them it made her uncomfortable.
“Natasha, let me sit near the door please?” she asked her but Natasha refused.
There was plenty of dancing and music Sakshi of course joined them.
Most of the days was spent visiting all the industries it was a 6 day trip 4 days educational remaining 2 days was fun time which was what got everybody excited. Mathew made full use of his cooking skills during the trip impressing everyone especially the girls.
While Natasha found it more and more difficult to avoid him and it was getting awkward. Sachin arrived on a private car but joined them in the bus when he saw Natasha there.
“Finally we’re here,” Sakshi yelled with everyone as they came to the water falls.
“What are you so excited about? You can’t swim,” Natasha reminded her.
“Who cares yay! I cant swim Woooo!” she screamed again.
“Some of her brain cells must have died off,” Natasha thought.
As everyone jumped into the water and enjoyed themselves Natasha Sakshi and a few others were stuck on land because they couldn’t swim and since it was deep you needed a life jacket and nobody had one.
Sakshi was splashing some water with her legs as she sat on the edge of a rock near the water.
“Yay I cant swim” Sakshi said gloomily.
“At least I can see some shirtless guys some compensation that is,” she said dejected.
“Candy for our eyes,” Natasha said trying to lighten up the moment.
“I thought it would be shallow but this is damn deep, for fucks sake I even bought my bikini,” she cursed.
Mathew came along with his camera he was busy shooting a video.
“What’s up? Why are you guys up here?” he asked Sakshi since Natasha looked the other way.
“We cant swim” Sakshi answered dejected.
“Well then jump I’ll teach you,” Mathew said removing his shirt.
“Really!!” Sakshi jumped suddenly she was so happy she forgot about Natasha.
“Wait here let me change,” she said as she scurried away.
Natasha now felt miserable now for ignoring him.
She looked for Sachin who was coming down from the top of the falls.
“Finally,” she thought as she went to him.
“Hey Sachin!” Natasha waved to him.
“Hi!” he replied.
“Where were you? I was looking all over for you,” Natasha asked him.
“I was up top clicking some pics,” he said showing her his picture’s.
“Well can you teach me to swim?” she asked pushing the camera aside.
“Well…..I can tell her to teach you,” he said pointing to a girl swimming.
“Brilliant! You cant swim just say it,” is what she thought.
But instead she said “Na its okay I’ll ask her myself,” she was trying to act nice.
Sakshi was fast, she came all dressed up and ready to swim.
“Okay grab my shoulders,” Mathew said and Sakshi happily did as he said.
Mathew called Greg and Salim to help out too.
“They are having such fun,” Natasha thought as Sakshi was learning how to float.
“Natasha look I am floating,” she screamed from the water and Natasha forced a smile for her sake.
“Aren’t you coming?” Greg asked.
“Let me guess you can’t swim,” Salim said and laughed heartily.
Natasha just couldn’t stand him and left the spot.
“That was mean!” Sakshi told him annoyed as she floated on her back.
“C’mon it ain’t no lie!” Salim said.
Even though Natasha left the spot she couldn’t take her mind off those two the idea of Sakshi and Mathew swimming together was truly making her uncomfortable.
“Why was she hugging him like that? She’s all over him! Why are they smiling its not funny”.
She just kept thinking of such stuff as she walked to the top of the hill.
“Are you just gonna loiter thinking about them?” she heard Sachin ask her from behind.
“How did you—” Natasha asked startled.
“I followed you,” Sachin said.
“Did you ever get forgotten by your best friend?” she asked him “because that’s what I feel is happening to me,” Natasha continued
“You should forget about them and just think about us,” Sachin told her.
“I wish I could,” she thought.
“This stream that flows down actually starts from there,” he said pointing upwards.
“There?” she said as she t
raced the stream uphill.
“Yep that’s where the water flows down,” he informed her.
“Really?” she asked him.
“Yep and there a small shallow pool just before the cliff from where the water falls,” he said.
“Hmm,” she nodded.
“Its a bit dangerous because if you are not careful you will fall right down the waterfall so people prefer the deeper pool below,” he said.
“Well maybe not us C’mon,” she said calling him as she went into the pool.
“Wait up didn’t you hear its not safe,” he said running after her.
As they got into the water Natasha felt delighted “See Sakshi I am having fun too!” she said to herself.
As she got into the water all wet her dress stuck to her skin revealing her beautiful shape.
“Wow! You look so beautiful you know,” Sachin said staring at her.
“Oh thank you,” she said shyly looking down to avoid his eyes.
Her gaze fell on his torso he had removed his sleeveless shirt before coming into the pool.
Unlike Mathew though his body was lean not muscular and he had plenty of hair on his chest.
“Why do I keep comparing him to Mathew?” she thought.
She went to the edge near the cliff were the water was falling below holding to the rocks as support since the flow was not much she was not pushed by the current.
She searched for Sakshi and Mathew but couldn’t find them but she did hear Sakshi screaming joyously, so she bent a bit further to peep and quit suddenly…..she slipped!!
Mathew didn’t even have time to react it was so sudden all he could do was try to catch her hoping to act as a cushion, he was standing just below the waterfall which was a bit shallow with some rocks below. The force was so much that he was knocked unconscious along with Natasha. Sakshi screamed in shock as everyone rushed in to help them.
When You Miss Him
Natasha kept staring at the desk it had been 2 weeks since the accident that knocked her unconscious. Apart from a minor ankle sprain Natasha had come out unscathed, but Mathew wasn’t so lucky he had a fracture on his right arm and a sprain on his left.
He had decided to stay home since both his arms were useless.
Things soon got boring for Natasha without him around and she still couldn’t face him in fact she didn’t even visit him.
So she decided today she would go meet him and perhaps convince him to attend his classes again she even prepared all the notes for him of the past week which Mathew missed.
“Sakshi why don’t we visit Mathew today? See hows he’s doing,” she said suddenly.
Sakshi was munching a chocolate but froze when she heard what Natasha said she turned side ways and after a long stare she said “So you finally came to your senses”.
Natasha nodded with a slight smile.
“You know you can be such a jerk sometimes,” Sakshi said as she continued munching the chocolate.
And so they went to his room that evening with some fruits of course.
Sakshi knocked and came in she had the keys and kept visiting Mathew every day to check how he was doing.
“Hi….how are you?” Natasha asked him awkwardly.
“I am fine,” he said.
“Thank you by the way, if it wasn’t for you I don’t know what would have happened that day,” she said and there was a long silence after that.
“The doctor said I can remove the bandages from my left arm guess I can finally use my left arm now,” he said trying to look cheerful.
“Oh that’s great,” she said.
Fidgeting her fingers Natasha continued “You know I am sorry—”
“How’s your ankle?” Mathew cut her off.
“Oh its great it healed last week—” she replied.
“Great good to know,” he replied before Natasha could open her mouth again.
“Hey how about some snacks?” Sakshi said breaking the awkward silence and trying to dispel the uneasy feelings between the two.
“Yummy,” Mathew trying to put up a smile.
“By the way have you been bathing?” Sakshi asked him.
“How can I with two broken arms?” Mathew replied.
“I can give you a bath if you want,” Sakshi said smiling.
“No!!” both Natasha and Mathew yelled together.
Sakshi almost fell off her chair in shock but managed to catch hold of the desk.
Then looking at each other both of them were silent again.
“I prepared some notes for you,” Natasha said after a while taking out 3 books and handing it to him.
“2 weeks is a lot of missed classes I guess,” he told her looking at them.
“Can you come to classes tomorrow?” she asked hoping for a positive reply.
“I wish I could but my right arm is useless, besides its a good excuse to laze around too you know,” he said chuckling.
“Please I…I…miss you,” she said looking straight into his eyes.
“Oh,” he said startled.
The Perks Of Having A Broken Arm
Sakshi and Natasha were sitting in the class, Natasha was staring blankly at the ceiling as usual.
“This is soo boring just the two of us,” Sakshi said in a grumpy mood.
Natasha nodded still looking up.
“Baahh!!” Mathew yelled from behind them all of a sudden.
Both Sakshi and Natasha shrieked “eeh!!” And jumped out of their seats and everyone laughed.
“Mathew!” Natasha squealed in delight and rushed towards him before giving him a big hug.
“I was so bored without you,” Natasha said planting a big kiss on his cheeks.
“Dude you made it, our hero!” Nithin said one of his classmates.
“What?” Mathew asked surprised.
“The way you caught Natasha it was awesome you saved her man,” Rohan said.
“Oh I guess I am the only one who doesn’t remember,” Mathew said scratching his head.
“He lost an hour of his memory after the accident,” Sakshi told them.
“Then you better explain to me,” Mathew said.
And so Sakshi narrated to him what happened that day.
Sachin had just arrived as they were talking and he was not pleased at all seeing Mathew. But begrudgingly he approached Mathew.
“Oh hey! Sachu look who’s here!” Natasha said cheerily patting Mathews back.
“Hows your arm?” Sachin asked shaking Mathews left hand.
“Well getting better,” Mathew replied.
“Good……..but still you should have rested at home you know,” Sachin advised him.
“These girls wouldn’t let me,” he said.
“Sachin aren’t you gonna thank him?” Sakshi asked.
“Would you just shut up for once!” Sachin thought irritated.
But said “Oh ya thanks for saving her,” through gritted teeth.
“It was nothing, I can’t remember it anyway,” Mathew said smiling.
“He hates you a lot,” Sakshi whispered in Mathew ears.
“I figured that out,” he replied.
Later that afternoon the three of them went to a restaurant outside the campus it was Natasha’s treat to celebrate Mathew’s return.
Sachin too had decided to visit the same restaurant that day to keep tabs on what those three were doing, these days he was getting concerned that Natasha and Mathew were getting too close.
“So anything interesting happened when I was gone?” Mathew asked picking up the spoon with his left arm.
“Nop everything was just boring,” Natasha said taking a sip of her juice.
“When you feel depressed everything around you becomes boring and that’s how Natasha was,” Sakshi told him.
“I was not depressed!” Natasha insisted.
“Whatever,” Sakshi said shrugging her shoulders. Mathew lifted the spoon to his lips but it slipped off his fingers and fell on the table spilling the rice all over.
/>
“Hey are you okay?” Natasha asked anxiously.
“I am fine my fingers just got clumsy,” Mathew said smiling.
“No your not! What did the doctor say?” Sakshi pressed him for an answer.
“It will take another 3 or 4 days to be back to normal,” Mathew said trying to move his fingers.
“Natasha this is all your fault you should have let him rest at home,” Sakshi chided her.
“Well you should have said that yesterday,” Natasha countered her.
“Enough both of you everyone is looking,” Mathew said intervening.
He took the spoon again but it slipped off before he could lift it.
Natasha who was sitting next to him grabbed the spoon and took some rice with it from his plate.
“Okay here open your mouth ah!” Natasha said holding the spoon to Mathews lips.
“What are you doing?” Mathew asked her.
“Feeding you of course,” Natasha answered.
“I can feed myself,” he said trying to grab the spoon but Natasha slapped his hand away and shoved the spoon in his mouth.
“Ow you guys are so cute!” Sakshi said giggling.
“This is embarrassing,” Mathew grumbled.
“Look she is going to the trouble of feeding you, so show some courtesy,” Sakshi teased him.
“Common now biggie…...eat!” She pressed the spoon on Mathew’s lips forcing him to swallow it.
Sachin could no longer stand it he was boiling inside and decided to confront them.
“What are you guys doing?” Sachin asked them suddenly from behind.
“Sachu what are you doing here?” Natasha asked surprised.
“Well I was—” Sachin tried to find and excuse.
“You were following us weren’t you?” Sakshi cut him off.
“No I was not, its was a coincidence,” Sachin replied.
“Wait you were following us?” Natasha repeated.
“Look that’s not the point here, I mean look! Your treating him like—” Sachin began.
“I’ll treat my friends anyway I want,” Natasha cut in.
“You were feeding him and yet you won’t even touch my hand!” Sachin yelled getting emotional.
“He is my friend and he is injured,” Natasha countered.
“Well I am your boyfriend I deserve better,” Sachin shot back.
“I never asked you to be my boyfriend!” Natasha screamed in anger.
