“No, he doesn’t.” She shook her head trying to imagine that.

“Then how do you explain the fact that he sat with me to remind me,” his fingers made quotes, “how children are conceived?”

She laughed herself off the couch. “Alright,” she said through deep breaths. “I agree with you, he still thinks you’re in school.”

“And still he ‘my king’s me. I couldn’t ask for a better advisor.”

“I know.” She climbed off the floor into his lap.

  “I’ve been thinking.”

  “You’re scaring me.”

She balled her hand up and hit him on the arm. “I’m serious. Magnus is here and so are you. Eventually, someone else is going to wake up and another. I can almost see a future where we end up back in a war. This time there won’t be a way to put you to sleep. My people will end up dying. Then what?”

The thought of that what was enough to scare her for the rest of her life.

Whoever started this war never intended for both groups to live. They felt like this planet wasn’t big enough for both of them. That was ridiculous, right?

“I could present myself to your government.”

She gave him an incredulous look. “Hi, I’m a dragon, names Rilan, and I’m king of the dragons.” Her voice deepened. “Hi, I am the leader of the humans, have you met my gun?”

“I doubt it will go that way.”

“You’re living in the past. No one is willing to give up the power they have gained. If you come out, it will be like a challenge for power. Worse you’ll be labeled the invading enemy. No one will believe you. We’ve been trained from birth to believe that we were invaded by aliens. Then you turn into a dragon. What will people think you are?”

“An alien. What do you think we should do?”

Magnus came out carrying plates of food. Rilan went with him to get the rest. Once they were seated and eating, they started brainstorming.

“I’m going to have to go back. It’s not time yet I don’t want to go back early, but I have to go back. I don’t want to take the chance of them sending anyone else in.”

“What do you think you’ll gain from going back?” Magnus asked.

“A chance to talk to my father. Hear me out. My father is one of the most influential people in our society. If I can get him on our side, the rest will be easy.”

Neither Rilan nor Magnus looked convinced by her impassioned plea. Her shoulders dropped while her spine curved. Truthfully, she wasn’t convinced either. It was plain to her, but would her father believe her or cling to what he grew up learning?

“If you have a better idea, I’d like to hear it.”

“We have some time,” Rilan told her. “I don’t want us to jump into something before we are sure it’s the right course of action.”

“You don’t want me to go back, do you?”

“I’ll just take care of these and call it a night.” Magnus gathered the dishes and left them alone.

Rilan turned to face her. “I don’t want you to leave. In this new world, I have no idea of what can happen. I could always go with you, but you don’t want that.”

She ran her hands up her arms trying to combat the sudden cold taking hold of her. There was no way she was going to deliver her mate to a world that wouldn’t think twice about killing him. Not happening on her watch.

“Your people need you. I need you, you won’t help any of us if you’re dead. I might be overacting, but your safety is my primary concern.”

“Then why wouldn’t yours be mine?”

Because the only person who cared about her was lying in a coma. That’s what she wanted to scream, but she knew better. Rilan cared. It had nothing to do with him wanting to be the winner. Look who’s on my arm. And it had nothing to do with her looks or lack of them. He found her beautiful, and he saw deeper. Looks faded something she was aware of. What happened then? Now she knew, with the right person she’d always be beautiful.

“We’re going to have to table this conversation.”

“Why?” He leaned over and bit her bottom lip like it was a plump berry before sucking on it.

“Right now, I am feeling you. There’s not an agreement I can think of that will stand up to what you just said.”

“My beautiful, silent mate.” He stood and picked her up.

“Wait where are you taking me?”

“Not so silent after all.” He changed his hold on her moving her over his shoulder. Then when she squawked, he slapped her rear.

She gave an indignant snort not wanting him to know how much he pleased her.

  Chapter Fifteen

Rilan fashioned a nightgown that made her feel like a princess or was that a queen? The deep purple color went well with her eyes and she loved the way it held her breasts but the bottom swirled around her. Now all she had to do was get into her newly aired out bed. It was simple really, but it also meant things between them had changed.

He offered to sleep in another room if she wasn’t ready. She might have taken him up on that if her heart wasn’t trying to bust or stop at the thought of him being anywhere than by her side.

  “Kisame?”

“I’m thinking back to the beginning,” She told him as she crossed the room. “You would think there wouldn’t be that much, but I already have thousands of memories that feature you.”

“My favorite is the feel of your hands on my scales. You didn’t know who I was or what I was, but still, your touch was gentle, caressing. When I saw you standing there, I thought my every dream had come true. If I could go back, I would tell myself to fall to my knees and worship you. There is no way I will ever be able to tell you what you mean to me.”

She blinked fast before finally wiping at her eyes to try to stem the tears that were flowing freely.

“This is what you do to me,” she whispered slipping into the bed and moving closer to him. “You make my heart beat fast with words and disarm me with actions. I say to myself ‘Kisame, remember your life is planned out,’ then you smile at me. Every plan I ever had rearranges itself to include you.”

“That’s as it should be. We need each other and we want each other. There is nothing wrong with that.”

“Forever is a long time, especially for you. You were centuries old when the war started, I’m decades old. One of these things is not like the other.” She sang the last part to him in a child’s voice.

“Become centuries old with me. Join with me becoming one.”

How did she say no to that? There were some good arguments, but her heart and head both negated them. She wanted to belong to Rilan as much as she wanted him to belong to her. Wouldn’t a day be better than a lifetime without?

“There’s no going back. What if your dragon mutters mate when he sees another woman? Maybe he thought I was his mate because I was the first person he saw after waking up.”

“Then why do you think I’m your mate? Is it because you feel it deep in your soul like I do? Or are you just along for the ride until you can dump me and go back to your people?”

“Of course not!” She went to her knees, “I love you!” Hell, she loved him. Her body sagged, and she made herself lie down. No wonder she was keeping that little gem from herself. It was too soon to love him, but it wasn’t love at first sight. It wasn’t because he was a dragon.

She wasn’t sure when it started. There was a clear image of him in her head making sure she got into her vehicle and the walking around it like the force he was leaving behind was strong enough to keep her safe. It had been. That was the first time she felt like she came first since her mom had slipped away. That meant something to her.

“Kisame.” Her name got her attention. She looked over at him. His green eyes with the silver band around them were wide. “I love you, baby. We haven’t known each other for long, but my feelings are real. Just as importantly I’m committed to you. I won’t run when things get tough and they will get tough.”

  “I know.” She laid
her head on his chest and allowed her body to relax. There was no telling what tomorrow would bring, but tonight was theirs. “I want you, mind, body, and soul.”

He took a deep breath. “Do you know…”

She placed her fingers over his mouth. “I know.”

He drew her closer until his mouth came down on hers. She opened with a sigh. Tomorrow everything may be different but she didn’t care. Her tongue came out to match his dueling for the right to be in charge. She loved the way his tongue twisted around hers giving her large and small tastes of the man who was overpowering her senses with one kiss after the other.

His small chuckle turned her on as she backed up needing air to breathe. Darn dragon his lungs probably held more air than hers did. She’d tell him about it after her hands stopped moving through his hair trying to memorize the texture and the changing colors as it slipped through her fingers.

“At times, I think I’m in my vehicle passed out from heat exposure or lack of food. That’s how I justify you. I say you’re here to lead me to the next world. That seems more real to me at times than the two of us are living this adventure together.”

“You don’t get to go to the next world yet.” His voice was deep. “We still have too much to accomplish. I don’t want to live without you Kisame. Yes, a dragon can live without his mate, but it’s not easy.”

She didn’t want to live without him either. Tying herself to him didn’t make sense when she knew they had to be separated.

“I want you, Rilan. I need to be one with you.” Her fingers drifted down to his cheek before caressing along his neck. She laid her hands against his chest and pushed at him. He rolled over on his back his body on display for her to see.

He was wearing nothing but a loose pair of boxers. Today's were all black, she loved the way they looked against his tan skin. Her hand hovered over his chest before she finally began to caress it. He was much darker than she was. It was from being out in the sun. Time in the sun was highly regulated where she came from.

“Love?” Her hands stopped moving as she pondered her new revelation.

“Sorry, a new thought caught my attention. I’ll tell you later.” She swooped down and took his nipple into her mouth. It hardened as she sucked it. She loved the taste of his skin, he was salty but there was a distinct flavor she couldn’t pinpoint. Whatever it was she could become addicted. Was it possible to die from wanting to taste him?

She moved to his other nipple while her fingers played with the first one. He gave a deep moan making her feel powerful.

“Do you like this?” Her voice was raspy as she gave his nipple a gentle bite.

“Hell yeah.” He arched off the bed into her mouth pressing her closer.

“I love the way you taste, the teasing scent that comes from your skin.” Her hands went down his chest teasing him as she licked him. “I want to devour you.”

“Don’t think I can hang on that long.” His thick cock had risen to meet her as she kissed and licked down his body. She ignored it even as it waved hello to her. She was more interested in his lack of a belly button.

  “What happened here?”

  “Hatched from an egg.”

That made sense. She licked over his smooth stomach before her eyes went to the head of his cock it was leaking pre-cum and begging her to taste.

“You want me to lick you, don’t you?” She placed her hand around his thickness as she talked to his cock. “I hear you calling me.” Her head dipped down and her tongue snaked out to tease his slit while she took his taste inside of her.

His moan made her open wide to swallow the head.

“Kisame, more, please.” His ragged words had her taking him deep into her throat. He was too big for her to take all of him but she had more than a mouthful. Her head bobbed up and down as her hand worked his balls. They were firm and full. Thoughts of his shooting down her throat brought a sensual moan from her mouth.

She felt him tense up knew he was getting close when he pulled back.

  “What, why?”

“I want to be in you tonight, need to be.”

“But…” He had deprived her of her treat and part of her was angry with him. The other part knew he was right.

Not knowing what to say she settled for a glare.

“I swear next time I won’t stop you.”

“I’m holding you to your word.” She laid down on him, her hips making small circles as her need pressed forward. “How do we?”

She wasn’t sure when it became official, but tonight she would become his mate. There was no official to pronounce them man and wife. This was more than a wedding, the only thing with the power to separate them was death.

He flipped her so she was on her back looking up at him. His green eyes seemed to glow in the darkness. The silver ring around it expanding.

“I bite you here.” His finger went to the juncture at her neck with a gentle caress. “You bite me here.” He indicated the same place on his neck.

“Bite got it.” Her eyes were dilating as he caressed up and down her neck making her skin sensitive.

“Did you know this was an erogenous zone?”

She shook her head too caught up in his eyes to answer.

“It is.” He licked her neck. Her body shook from the feeling of his tongue on her. It shouldn’t feel so good. She let out a small moan of pleasure, but it did. Her legs shook. Darn it, she needed more than this to make her legs shake.

He moved downward licking until he got to her breasts. Then he began to nibble like she was the best thing he had ever tasted. She rolled her shoulders then arched her back wanting to give greater access to her breasts.

“I got you baby.” He licked around her nipple using the flat side of his tongue. She felt little ridges on it that were driving her wild with need. She moved squirming as she tried to get him to take her nipple deeper into his mouth. He ignored her while he teased the nipple. His other hand was trailing over her other nipple giving her just enough pressure, making her bud tighten up.

When his mouth came down taking her nipple deep, she let out a high-pitched scream as the pleasure went straight to her pussy. She felt herself leaking as the sensation of his mouth pulled on the nipple and pulled on a deeper part of her.

This wasn’t a pleasure she was used to. The way he pulled on her nipple but used his free hand to pet her.

“Rilan,” his name came out with uncertainty.

“Let me in Kisame. I swear you won’t regret it.”

She tightened up not wanting to let down her defenses. He waited not pushing her. He laid his head on her breasts as he stroked her arm. Her eyes closed as her body relaxed.

His hand reached out to caress her breasts. “I love your breasts.” He massaged them making them the center of his attention. His gentle hands became more insistent making her needier as her nipples became more sensitive. He stroked her until she thought she might blow. He backed off kissing down her stomach until he came to her belly button.

“There’s something to be said about a belly button.” He stuck his tongue in. She let out a moan that had her hips thrusting in the air. Her hands came up to his hair as she tried to grind her hips along his thigh.

  “Not yet baby.”

He did not think he was going to get to lick her after he stopped her from sucking on him. Shit! She thrust her pussy up to get close to his seeking fingers and lips.

“Please, I need.” She didn’t know what she needed but when his fingers squeezed her clit, she knew every need she had centered around him. A mini orgasm rolled through her body giving her pleasure while promising her more.

“Again,” Rilan demanded before his tongue started to lick her. He stuck it deep inside her followed by his fingers.

She wanted him deep inside her before she came but her body didn’t listen as her head rolled from side to side. Pleasure rolled over her demanding that she submit to it.

“Rilan?” She opened her eyes to find him staring at her waiti
ng. “Yes.” She knew he needed to hear her agreement from her lips to know she wanted this as much as he did.

He pushed her legs open as his fingers stroked her one more time making sure she was ready for him. She wouldn’t stop staring at him as he lowered himself. She was going to love the feeling of him breaching her. It felt so good to feel his thickness sinking deep inside of her.

“I’m yours,” she whispered as he settled his frame on her. Wrapping her legs around him she held him still. She needed to absorb his weight to be grounded in the moment before he could move. The fact that they decided to spend the rest of their lives together almost brought tears of joy to her eyes.

“It’s you Kisame, it’s always been you. I was just waiting to meet you.” His hips thrust up before he sank down taking her on a timeless journey. She met him move for move needing more of him.

“Rilan please.” She needed something more, the pleasure was more than she should expect, but she needed a deeper connection and knew that only he could give it to her.

He moved faster making her head swim even as sweat glistened on her body and moans of pleasure and need left her lips. She stroked him even as she clung to him. When she felt that ball of pleasure in the base of her spine, she tried to hold it off not wanting to let him go.

“Come with me love, come with me.” He rocked his hips changing the rhythm taking her with him. She threw her head back that’s when he struck biting her. A scream tore from her while her body came apart in his arms.

He licked at the bite mark, then she turned her head and bit him. Her teeth seemed to elongate for a moment. She licked at the bite mark before her body went over the falls. She was floating in a pool of water. Her body was still caught up in intense pleasure as her orgasm played with her body.

“Love?” She opened her eyes to look at Rilan.

  “Yes?”

  “You’re glowing.”

She looked down and he was right their skin was glowing.
