Kragyn (Farseek Warrior Series Book 1) Page 15

Reanne looked from Tyema to Kragyn, shaking her head at his uncertain look. “Maybe someday I would like to see it again, but I’m not going anywhere without you.”

“Once we establish communications, we will be able to send and receive vid messages,” Tyema said.

“That will be wonderful!” Reanne said, smiling up at Kragyn.

Joint Command had initially ordered Dreads Four and Seven to the Tooda system to rescue more Uatu after repairs were completed. But with the new information from the United Galactic Alliance of Worlds, they decided to postpone that mission and bring all the Dreadnaughts back to Farseek.

With only three shuttles between two Dreads, it would take days to take ten thousand people from the Kurellis down to Farseek. The massive passenger freighter was not designed to land on any planet. It was so big it could only have been built in space at a station like Tegliar.

Just a few rotations after starting back to Farseek, Dread’s Four and Seven received the shocking news that Evzen Guryon was behind the destruction of Farseek. He was probably the wealthiest individual in the Consortium, but he orchestrated the attack on Farseek with the Sargans for money. He didn’t want competition from Farseek for his agricultural products from the world he owned.

Guryon was taken into custody, and all his assets seized to pay for the destruction on Farseek. The Consortium also released Farseek Brigade from its defense contract to allow them to defend their own star system. But now that the warriors and starship personnel would all be paid from Guryon’s assets, the Farseek Brigade wanted to help put down the Sargan Empire and use the Kurellis to retrieve more of their stolen people.

Redemption was a long time in coming for the Consortium in the eyes of the Farseekans. They never accepted the Farseekans' withdrawal, and they had found the traitor who destroyed their world. They were sending supplies and labor droids to help rebuild, and much had been rebuilt during their mission into the Sargan Empire.

The new developments left Kragyn with a serious choice to make…

Kragyn and Reanne lay cuddling in each other’s arms after an energetic round of lovemaking.

“When we get back to Farseek, if you agree, I want to stay,” Kragyn said.

“You want to leave the Brigade?” Reanne replied evenly as hope bubbled up inside her.

“I would still be on reserve and maybe have a hand in training new recruits, but on Farseek, not in space,” he said. “I was thinking about it when I was on leave before I was taken. I’ve been a warrior for fifteen orbit spans.”

  “And what will I do?”

  “Besides making babies with me?”

Reanne giggled. “Now that sounds like a lot of fun, but I need more than that to do.”

“Have you ever thought about farming? That’s what most people do on Farseek. I have a home set on ten thousand sections of land,” he said. “I just received word that it has been rebuilt.”

“I don’t know how much a section is, but it sounds like a lot.”

“It is a lot. My family was supervising crops on it while I was serving in the Brigade. Just before the attack, I decided to find my solmatu, I wanted to come back to Farseek and start a family.”

“Well, isn’t that just convenient!” Reanne smiled and brushed his lips with hers. “I wished to find a mate myself. It didn’t happen how I planned it. But here we are naked in bed talking about making babies,” she said, “and growing things. Yeah, I think I could learn to be a farmer. I was raised in farm country back on Earth.”

“I’ve had enough star trekking. I used to like watching it on TV, but I never really wanted to do it.”

“A house in the country with you, making babies, growing things… Sounds lovely.”

“Speaking of growing things…” He rolled them over, so she was on her back beneath him with his hips cradled between her thighs. The length of his erection was pressed against her core, so he felt it contract as it rubbed her clit.”

He knew she liked the feel of his weight pressing on her like that. His hard chest squeezing her sensitive breasts and his hard cock filling her empty place, the thought of it took her breath away. She was wet again already, and it only took her mate seconds to find that soft, warm place and fill it with his hard cock.

The first round of sex had been foreplay. Now he would fuck her in earnest and savor the way she crooned his name and praised him with love words with each climax.

It occurred to him, they might be making babies sooner than they thought. The nanites that were injected to removed the Pican language implant would remove any other foreign bodies inside her as well---including the birth control implant.

The thought didn’t hinder his enjoyment in the least as he thrust into her hard and grinding his pubis against her clit. The idea of having their child together only increased his pleasure as he spilled his seed inside her.

He would explain it all to her much later.

  Epilogue:

  Just over a year later:

As Kragyn set the flyer down on the landing pad beside their home, he saw Reanne walking toward the house from her kitchen garden. Her belly had just started to swell with their first child. A gentle breeze danced through her long honey-colored hair, blowing her skirt against her legs.

Reanne had blossomed in the year since they’d settled on Farseek. She loved the lush greenery of the trees, grasses, and crops. She said it reminded her of home, and now this was her home.

A few months after they moved into their new home, the Consortium notified them with instructions on how to contact her parents. Reanne’s parents had been informed that she was alive and well on Farseek. While they were shocked after two years of fearing her dead, they were ecstatic.

Both her parents were fighting tears when they vid-mailed back. They missed her terribly, but they were thrilled she was alive and well. Now that they knew she was not coming back; her father would sell the garage as he had already retired.

Reanne was okay with that. She had plenty to keep her busy on the farm, and she got to tinker from time to time using her mechanical skills. The best thing was that she was no longer homesick because her parents were back in her life even though it was from a distance.

The door slid open on the flyer, and Kragyn stepped out, and Reanne stepped into his arms for a long slow kiss.

Their home was a delightful place with Reanne to share it with him. Looking back, he considered he would go back and do it all again if he knew she would be there at the end. That was solmatu.
