  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  Carol Plum-Ucci's first novel, The Body of Christopher Creed (2000), was a Michael L. Printz Award Honor Book, an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, an IRA Children's Choice, and a finalist for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Young Adult Mystery. Her second book, What Happened to Lani Garver (2002), earned much critical acclaim and was named an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age. She has received numerous citations for her entertainment and business writing, including the Kneale. Award in Journalism Excellence in Feature Writing from Purdue University, and has worked with groups that funded the smuggling of classic literature behind the Iron Curtain. Carol Plum-Ucci lives in New Jersey.
