With a nod and a kiss, I agreed. Easing Marshall’s mind for him, I saw it as an important part of being in a relationship.
“Okay, we can have a talk with Shiloh.”
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
MARSHALL
My luck was running out. For the first time in my military career the weight of what I did was firmly planted on my shoulders. Bastian and Gabe had been on the phone most of the morning, interrupting our workout session. I knew the major wanted us to head back to Queenscliff, the situation in West Papua obviously escalating faster and more seriously than anyone wanted. Team FIVE was on high alert, and I was freaking out. Addy was now at twenty-three weeks, and twenty-one days ago, we found out we are expecting a daughter. And twenty-one fucking awesome days of being her boyfriend. Day by day, Addy’s walls were crumbling, brick by brick she was letting me in, trusting me.
When she wasn’t at work we were together; we had lunch at the clinic every day, we went home to her tiny arse house and cooked our evening meal. Then we sat on the new couch I’d purchased and watched TV, the night always ended with us making out like teenagers then moving to our room and making love.
Love.
I was so far gone in love with my Sweet Cheeks; I wouldn’t be surprised if my balls were in her handbag. I wouldn’t honestly mind either; if Addy was happy, then so was I. The pregnancy was on track; her GP was pleased with her health and even happier with her lessening workload.
Shiloh and Booth went for the partnership idea, and both of them were very excited to be a part of the vet clinic. The finances were yet to happen, but Shiloh and Addy had already worked out a roster. Detailing when the prospects were needed and what their duties consisted of daily. I had been in on those decisions, and meeting the men who were going to be around my girl. I approved of them but made it known I expected nothing less than stellar behaviour around Addy and her staff.
Today, the paperwork was officially to be signed by Addy and the club, and finally, her account will have enough funds to pay off some of her loans as well as to hire a part-time vet. She surprised me by agreeing for the vet to start before her maternity leave. She arranged for a doctor to come in once a week to give Addy a break and so he could get used to the clinic before he or she took over after our daughter arrives.
Interviews for her replacement were to commence next week. It was looking doubtful that I would be here for those, but I planned on making my presence known by stipulating she hire a female vet.
If Addy was going to be here alone without me, then she was going to have to compromise for the sake of my sanity. Working with a male was completely out of the question.
“Yo, Grill, you coming to the barbeque tonight?” Kodah called out from across the spacious gym.
“Yeah, Addy and Booth have to finish up the paperwork for the vet clinic, might as well kill two birds with one bullet,” I told him, ripping the tape from my hands. One session punching the bag and I was more than ready to head home to my girl. It was Saturday, so the clinic closed at twelve. I had enough time for a quick shower then go pick her up.
“You got that twitchy feeling, boys?” Deke asked, coming up to join me, doing the same as me with his hands.
“If I was any twitchier, you could find water with me,” I answered dryly. “Shit is going south pretty quick and the SEAL team deployed are asking for reinforcements. The major is for sure calling us in within the next few days, if not earlier.”
“Consider it earlier,” Gabe yelled from the door to the room, whipping my head around I looked at him and Bastian both of them looking none too pleased.
Fucking hell! The call came in. A ball of dread settled in the pit of my stomach, I was going to have to leave Addy and I didn’t like that thought one bit.
“When?” I asked right away, tossing the used tape into the bin.
“Tomorrow,” Gabe told us, “Mum is organising the barbeque for lunch today instead of dinner; that way, we can enjoy some alone time with our girls and families before we get picked up. We head straight to Point Cook, catch a transport from there straight to Darwin, then we hitch a ride on a naval frigate. This will be a conjoined mission with the navy and air force. Team FIVE answers only to the major and the brigadier, but we will be working with the other branches of the military.”
Cole and Rafe joined us, Rafe, back from wherever he’d disappeared to when we were home. It had to be close by because it never took him long to appear just at the right time. As my partner, he was my closest team member during a mission, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t still a mystery to me.
“Any intel yet?” Rafe asked.
“Not that much,” Gabe admitted, “we know that a large band of separatists is making a lot of noise in the capital. Equally dangerous, there is talk of a seizure of power, the government there is on high alert for the possibility of an overthrow. That’s where we come in, I presume, find the targets and take them out before it can happen.” Gabe’s unwavering stare aimed at Rafe and me.
“I guess that means we are up, mate,” I said, looking over at Rafe.
“Copy that,” he replied simply. That was Rafferty Walsh for you, a man of few words and a deadly trigger finger.
“Grill, mum sent Seb to go pick up Addy. Save you going out to get her, she should be here soon,” Gabe informed me with a chin lift, then turned and walked out of the gym. Anxiety pricked at the back of my neck; logically, I knew Seb, knew that he would drive safely with Addy in his care. It was hard handing over control to someone else other than me, and this deployment was most certainly going to be an exercise in patience and restraint.
“He can be trusted with your girl, mate, Seb takes his role in the club seriously. He has been looking after the Flock since before I was born,” Bastian assured me, reading my mind.
“My old man and Gabe’s trust him with their most precious possessions, that good enough for you?”
“Yeah, I guess it is,” I grudgingly agreed, “better go take that shower before Sweet Cheeks gets here. I don’t want to waste a minute more of my last day with her.”
***
“Honey, I understand if you want to go hang with your mates,” Addy said into my ear. My arms tightened around her ever-increasing waistline, not that I would ever dare say that to her. Addy might be small and have the voice of an angel, but get her pissed off and then watch a grown man capable of hitting a target from over a mile away without breaking a sweat quake in his boots. Her hormonal shifts kept me guessing whether I needed a shield for protection or a box of tissues to mop up her tears.
“Sweet Cheeks, I ain’t leaving you for a single minute until I have to. Soon I will be stuck with that bunch of rowdy blokes for god knows how long,” I assured her, kissing her pouty lips.
“Okay,” she breathed out, resting her head back on my chest, she was rubbing one hand on my thigh making slow, soothing circles, the other one was wrapped around my bicep in a death grip.
“It’s good the papers are all signed, yeah?”
Addy and Booth sat down not long after she arrived here earlier and signed the contract Ford had written up by the club’s solicitor. Addy waved her right to her own representation, declaring that if I trusted Booth to give her a good deal, then she had no problems with it. Hearing her say that in front of my teammates, and the people I considered my family, heightened my belief that she was nearly there. She trusted me, that I had no doubts about; it was her trust in herself– she was still to achieve.
She would get there, the ring in my pocket depended on it. Last week I bought an engagement ring because I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, she was my reason. I didn’t care if we weren’t married before our daughter arrived; I just needed to see the ring on her finger that would show the world she was mine.
“It is actually. The deal is very fair and generous, and Booth said the club would be a silent partner leaving me to deal with the clinic pretty much as I have since I bought it,” Addy told me, the excitement evident in her voice. This
was a big step for her, accepting help from outsiders. Her whole life, the only person she had to lean on, was herself; now, she had the entire club. That alone gave me a great sense of peace, especially with me leaving first thing in the morning.
“I’m glad to hear you like the agreement, Addy,” Booth said, coming up to sit on the picnic seat beside us. I’d commandeered a large comfy outdoor chair from the shed, so Addy had no choice but to sit on my lap. She protested at first, insisting that she was too heavy for me, I, of course, took no notice of her and pulled her down and we had been like this most of the afternoon.
“Hi, Mr Booth, yes I am delighted with the agreement. And I am surprisingly looking forward to interviewing a replacement and having some time off. One day a week off sounds heavenly,” Addy answered happily. I smirked at Booth when he scowled at her for calling him mister, Booth, was just Booth, and he never used his first name ever.
“Drop the mister, darlin’, just Booth is fine.”
“Okay, Booth, it is. I guess now that you are my partner and all.”
“Silent partner, Addy, you are in charge, not me. I may make suggestions from time to time about certain aspects of the business, but the medical aspects and the day to day running is all yours.”
“Boothie Poos, I thought you were going to get me a drink?” Stella appeared behind Booth, her hands going to his shoulders leaning down so she could kiss his cheek.
Booth growled then quick as a flash reached for her hand and pulled her around the seat and onto his lap. Stella landing with a giggle, but nothing on her face told me she was annoyed at his behaviour.
“Honey, what have I told you about that name, only in private woman,” he growled into her neck, making Addy and I laugh.
“You know, I still can’t get over seeing a resemblance between you and Marshall,” Addy said suddenly, looking at me then at Booth.
“You mean the alpha, take control, bossy thing these men have going?” Stella piped up, winking at Addy.
“Well, yes, there is that,” Addy drawled, rolling her eyes at me.
“You love my bossy side, Sweet Cheeks,” I mock growled at her, capturing her lips in a heated kiss.
“Um, yeah, I kinda do,” she answered, all kinds of flustered, her eyes unfocused, a red blush staining her cheeks, making her dimples stand out more.
“However, before I was interrupted in the most effective way.” Addy pinned me with a cute scowl before turning her attention back to Booth and Stella.
“I actually meant more in a physical way. They really are quite similar, same strong chin, straight nose, their eyes are different colours but there is something familiar about their mannerisms. Or is that just me,” she laughed, shaking her head in amusement.
“I remember you saying something much the same at the shop the first day I met you,” Stella commented, turning her head to look at her husband, “remember babe, Addy asked you if you had a brother?”
Booth was staring intently at Addy with a look I knew only too well. Eight years spent here at the compound during my time off, I got to know the former president very well. His attention then turned to me, his grey eyes bored into me, the urge to squirm under his scrutiny rising.
“Yeah, Honey, I remember,” he replied simply.
What the fuck was going on with him? So, we had a square chin and a fierce love for our women, that didn’t mean a thing, and not anything to get this reaction from Booth.
Booth gave me one last narrowed glare then closed his eyes for a brief moment, and when he opened them all signs of the last few minutes were gone, he smiled at Addy then got to his feet taking Stella with him.
“How about that drink? I would like to spend some time with our son and Devon before the night ends.”
I watched the couple walk off, their hands joined and body’s pressed close, I shook off the weird exchange as nothing but Booth being Booth.
“Wanna go home, baby? I have to be up early in the morning, and I want inside you at least three times before I have to leave.” I nuzzled her soft skin under her ear; she loved it when I kissed her there, and it never failed to turn my girl into putty in my hands.
“I accept that,” Addy agreed breathily, “maybe I can try sucking your cock, I haven’t been able to since you insist on pleasuring me all the time.” She pouted, her pink tongue licking her plump bottom lip. Instantly, my cock hardened in my pants, the bulge digging into Addy’s firm arse. I fought the urge to slip my hand inside her blouse; her breasts were fucking spectacular, larger now and round with nipples that begged for my mouth. Addy loved having her nipples kissed and licked; in fact, she climaxed from just nipple play more times than I could count.
“Home. Now.”
Standing up, careful that she had her feet under her, then I took her small hand and led her through the members and friends of the club. Catching the attention of my captain, I nodded at him then moved my eyes to Addy, silently telling him I was heading home but would be back for our transport. Receiving a subtle nod from Gabe, I guided my girl out to my ute. By the end of the night, she would be wearing my ring and the word yes ringing in my ears.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
ADELINE
“Oh, my fucking god, Sweet Cheeks. Yesssss.” Marshall’s sexy moan brought a wicked smile to my face or the best I could manage, considering I had his thick cock in my mouth. Yes, after a few false starts, I was finally giving my man a blow job.
Yay me! So far, the overwhelming need to gag and vomit was surprisingly absent.
Granted I was only taking about three inches of his enormous cock, but Marshall didn’t seem to care, especially when I used one hand to jack him off at the same time my mouth bobbed up and down on him.
How my pussy took his entire length was a complete shock and delight, nothing I was going to complain about. His cock was truly exceptional, and the way he used it … extraordinary.
“Mmmmm.” The sound vibrated up my throat on its own accord. This, was, in fact, my first blow job– ever, and the feedback I was receiving pointed to a good job. It was very important to me that I did this for him and me. Marshall had to leave in the morning on deployment, the first since he’d found me and we began forging a life together. Wren, who had become a very good friend, as well as Devon, Gabe’s fiancée, tried to prepare me for what a deployment meant for me. Long periods alone, infrequent calls, constant worry for their safety— all the information I needed to turn me into a basket case.
Astoundingly, I found myself nervous about being alone– me, who had spent the majority of her life with no one to go home to, who ate her evening meal by herself and basically everything else alone. Then Marshall barged his way in, and suddenly I am one of those women, giddy at the sound of his voice when he called just to say hi. Eager to leave work and get my eyes on him, and my lips, my hands … anything, as long as it was him, I was touching.
“Baby, you have to … ahhhhh … stop now,” Marshall moaned, breaking me out of my teen girlie girl train of thought.
“No,” I mumbled around my mouthful, determined to give him the ultimate spank bank material for the long nights ahead.
“Addy, I am not blowing in your mouth,” he argued, but his hips pushed up, sending his cock further into my mouth. I stilled for a second, but the vomit didn’t come, ever so pleased I continued licking and sucking, my hand still jacking him down to the root.
“Pwleasssee,” I choked out, wanting that very much.
“Addy, we aren’t feeding our baby my jizz.”
I gagged then, not because of my gag reflex but because I started laughing. Was he joking or serious? Surely, he didn’t think that our baby— pulling off I collapsed into a fit of giggles, his cock bounced in front of my face once before Marshall hauled me to my feet.
“Don’t laugh. What you eat she eats, the doctor said so,” he grumbled, his thumb sliding over my lips, lips swollen from having his lovely cock in my mouth.
“Honey, that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever hear
d.” Licking the pad of his thumb, I pulled it into my mouth with my teeth circling my tongue around it.
Releasing it with a pop, I looked at him through hooded eyes, pushing aside the humour of his absurd reasoning and continued in my seductress mode.
“I want to give you something to remember me while you are away,” I told him truthfully. Another surprising thing about our relationship was my openness with him. Typically, I was a closed book, a jar so tight the lid never came off, yet with Marshall, I was different. I told him things when he asked and shared private thoughts with him, not worrying that he might laugh or scoff at them. Somethings I kept guarded, like the fact that I was in love with him and that I was scared of him leaving me when something or somebody better came along because in my experience someone always did. Foster families found better kids to home, and boyfriends found more emotionally open girls. I had a way to go, but I saw a real change in myself.
Warm hands covered my cheeks, a nose rubbed down the length of mine, and the brown eyes I loved more than anything commanded my attention.
“Nothing in this world or the next can ever make me forget you. You’re it for me, Sweet Cheeks, I have fallen so fucking hard and deep in love with you. You are all I see and want to see.” Marshall’s lips pressed to mine in a gentle featherlight kiss, “I’m yours, Addy, and I will be forever.”
Unsurpassed joy filled me, I felt, as well as heard, the truth behind his words. I believed him. Marshall loves me. Adeline Welham, lost foster kid, vet and soon to be mother.
Tears welled in my eyes, blurring his eyes from me, but that was okay. They were happy tears and I had the rest of my life to enjoy his eyes and everything else about Marshall.
