She wasn’t anything like the young Coach Shyne who had helped me when I entered school.
She managed to subdue the class and so eyes were all on me.
“I’m a transfer student.”
The class started to make a noise.
“Don’t worry. I’m half French. I understand the language well.”
The class goes quiet once more. Every ear on me.
“My parents went to this school. They both had once been the Vice President of the Student Council, and that is what I’m aiming for in the three years I’m to be here.”
As I mention my parents, Miss Valerie, who stood beside me had a distant look with a warm smile adorning her face.
“Pleasure to meet you all. My name is Keith Adrien.”
Applause is given which once again is quietened by the teacher.
“Who wants to show the new kid around?”
No sooner had she said that three hands shot up.
That’s when I knew it.
I found the three, same as how mom found the three who helped her stand up once more.
I didn’t wait for the teacher to ask me to take a seat. I moved in front to the spare seat in between the three.
I am sure that these three kids are the ones I’m going to form a strong friendship with in my three years in Harriet High.
