Beautiful Deceit Page 30

Black thigh-high stockings are held up by a prayer and a scrap of lace. I groan as she turns, looking like a wet dream in a black strapless bra and white lacy panties. Her heels are still on when she slowly steps forward out of the dress, her ankle straps keeping them in place.

I can't help but lick my lips.

Her mouth parts, watching me. I love how her eyes darken when I look at her, I love the way her full hips feel wrapped around me. I didn't think it'd be possible to love her more than I do in this moment, when she gives herself over to me freely.

“I love you," I say, because I can't not say it. "I will love you forever," I keep going.

She smiles at me sweetly. "I love you too Beau," she husks, bringing her body flush with mine.

Looking down at her, I continue, "I think I loved you before I met you. The idea of you. You make me real. You’re the person who makes me a better man." I can feel the atmosphere changing from lust to something so much more. “I can't imagine a day without you by my side. I promise to never go to bed angry, to never forget how I feel in this moment. I promise to always make you fall in love with me. If you give me one promise, sweet Sammy?"

  "Anything," she answers immediately.

"Promise to be my wife and the mother of my children. Promise to love me the way only you can."

Her eyes are tearing up. I'm afraid I rushed it. I should have gone with the plan and waited a little longer.

I stop breathing for the four seconds, until she whispers around her hand covering her luscious lips, "Yes."

The single syllable is one of the most wonderful sounds I've ever heard.

"Say it again," I order, needing to know I haven't just heard what I wanted.

A tear falls and hits my chest, "Yes Beau. Yes, I'll be your wife."

My lips cover hers, stealing those sounds and making them mine. This moment will forever be in my heart.

Our lovemaking is gentle and sweet. Every sigh and moan of bliss intensifies my need for her. Both of us sense the importance of the moment as we crawl our way through the pleasure, instead of the frantic races it often becomes.

I strip her bare before getting into bed. I slide the ring out of my pocket and onto her finger.

Her eyes never leave my face, even as her back arches and she cries through her release. I groan through mine.

She’s lying in my arms when I ask her, "Do you like it?" I’m a little nervous. I could have gone much bigger, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't like that.

"I always like it, silly. You couldn't tell?" She asks, missing my meaning.

I chuckle, "Oh, I know you love that Sweets. Your screams never leave me guessing."

The hand on my chest swats me, "Oh shut it.”

"I meant the ring," I whisper in all seriousness.

She looks down like she didn't know it was there.

"Oh Beau," her shoulders shake, and she tosses her head. What? Oh shit, I screwed up!

“It's unbelievable! I love it! Thank you," She says, scrambling up my body to kiss my face. She's straddling my hips, looking back and forth between my face and her hand. She wiggles her butt in excitement, and I get excited all over again.

She opens her mouth and laughs out loud when I flip her over and grind into her. The laughter dies when I take her nipple between my teeth. This time I take every inch of her body and mine to the brink, punishing both of us with pleasure.

We never make it out of the house that night, but the things we showed each other were much better than what I had planned.

My hands shake as I rub them over the silk ribbon binding my bouquet together. The pink is so light it looks like ivory. The huge peony I'm holding is really a dozen made to look like one giant bud. A gnarled stem hangs from the bloom holding a few small flowers. It’s simply gorgeous.

Jess just left me so she could find her seat. She promised that George would be here any second to walk me down the aisle. I miss my mother and Rita terribly in this moment. I hadn’t really thought much about getting married when mom was still alive, but I wish she was here to hold my hand while I waited. I wish she could have helped me with my hair or slide on my shoes. Jess has been a trouper, but a girl really needs her mom once in a while.

The soft sounds of a cello and piano reach my ears. I know I don't have long to wait. There's a knock on the door, and George pokes his head in.

"You look beautiful Sammy!" He says, looking smart in his tuxedo.

"Thank you George. You look very handsome." He grins and shakes his head.

"No flirting, young lady. I've got strict orders to deliver you to your Beau or else," he leaves the last bit hanging.

I take a moment to marvel at my life. I have been blessed in so many ways that it doesn't seem possible. When I realize all the things that happened in my life to make this moment possible, it's astonishing.

One thing I've learned in this time, is that life is too short for taking shelter from the storm, it's all about learning to dancing in the rain.

I take the hand George is offering me and let him guide me to the rest of my life with the only man that could ever love me the way I needed, especially when I needed it most.

  The doors open.

The sweet fragrance of flowers drifts to me as the gentle harmony of music swells at our arrival. Beau is standing at the front of the room, facing me with a look of pure adoration on his breathtaking face. He smiles that crooked smile that had me wishing he was mine before I even knew who he was.

We walk halfway down the aisle. He takes the steps down and meets me in the middle.

"You're supposed to wait for me," I smile, looking up at him.

He bends down and kisses my lips, "I've already been waiting long enough!"
