"It's fun; I've met a lot of the women from the Valtor pack. They all seem so very nice. I think you're making a good choice." Jenni was taking over Mica's role in her absents. She’d done it before Mica and him mated, so it wasn't something she wasn't already use to.

  "Are you okay?” She asked.

"I will be once this is done!” He said as he patted her on the back then turned to find Frank.

  Chapter 13

Lt. Adams stepped into the small phone booth. He wasn’t going to actually use it, but in the down pouring rain it gave him a bit of shelter to make a cell phone call. He dialed the long distant number and waited for the transfer to complete.

  “Hello.” Anna said

  “Hey it’s me.”

“Good, I was hoping you would check in today.” His sister told him

“I have an update, the file has already been sent.”

“Yes we have it. Now about the captive. The male is of no use to us, the female however we want.” She said.

“What’s the current status of our mission?”

“Bring in the end product, as well as the girl.”

“She might not be willing to come along.”

  “Change her mind Dmitri.”Ana ordered.

  “How?”Scott asked

“Come on I know you, if anyone can sway a lady’s mind it’s you. Put on the charm.”

“How about I just see where it goes, offer her a chance to join us.”

“That might work. Let me think on it, I need to ensure that this doesn’t fail.” She told him.

“I know Anna, I can’t talk long they are expecting me back soon,”

“Very well, we will talk more after I read this report. Call me as per the required time frame.” She said and hung up.

Scott took a deep breath. This had better work or he’d be dead. Collin wasn’t a man to fuck with and he was known to make short work of those who double crossed him. Mica needed to be protected, and taken somewhere safe. That would be no easy task even with the help of his sister and The Flock.

His sister’s words flowed into his mind. Put on the charm. Easy for her to say, the thing Anna didn’t know was he had been developing feelings for the girl. Ones he had tried so hard not to happen but they were and there had been nothing he could do to stop it. Hell he couldn’t even look at Mica when she facing him. He was afraid she would see his attraction for her in his eyes.

Mica stared at the lady with the wiry hair and glasses as she handed her a tray of food and a small carton of milk.

"Come on Mica you have to eat something.” She said. Karen was still trying to coax her into eating the food.

"It's disgusting.” She told her flatly as she looked at the puree of what she thought was supposed to be scrambled eggs. The limp pieces of toast looked like they had been left to long and got soggy from the butter smeared haphazardly over them. The small fruit cup didn't look so bad, nor did the chocolate bar Karen had placed under her napkin as a treat.

Without saying another word Mica took the fruit cup and the milk and sat on the edge of her cot. The bed was made of a hard formed plastic with a single sized mattress on top of it. A small built-in book shelf housed several dozen books and magazines. The small table near it had two plastic chairs. The deck of cards sat there still from her and Lt. Adams game of hearts earlier. The bassinet sat near her wooden rocking chair and a small dresser stood beside it. There was clothing for the baby and all the other supplies she’d need to care for her.

Mica's own short dresser stood beside her cot, it was full of white smocks, bras, panties and socks. Everything was identical, no colour or pattern, just plain and white. The small washroom had a walk in shower with the showerhead built into the ceiling and a clear plastic door. It turned on automatically whenever she stepped inside. The water was preset to a comfortable temperature. The tiny sink and toilet were right beside one another in the small five by five washroom. All of which was visible to whoever was in the cell or watching from the black orb in the middle of her ceiling as there was no door.

The tiny mirror-less cabinet in the washroom housed only the necessities. A tooth brush, tooth paste, shampoo and liquid hand soap. A hair brush and deodorant was two luxuries they allowed her. The tall stately figure dressed in all black at her door stared at her with a raised eyebrow. He was well over six feet tall and looked like a soldier. His close cropped black hair, blue eyes and strong sculpted facial features were attractive enough, but the human regarded her with suspicion. His scent told her she made him nervous.

The sound of a tray sliding on the hard plastic table drew her attention back to Karen. The woman reminded her of a little mother hen. Short, a bit on the round side and with soft eyes shield by glasses. As the other woman sat in the chair she jotted notes down on her tablet. Apparently she was her Health care provider . Something she now needed given they stayed the termination of her pregnancy. It was only because it was a girl. Something so rare for their kind to have and where she was a she-wolf the baby was also going to be one.

Karen looked at her quizzically and she stood and tossed the candy bar on the bed beside her.

"I have some work to do, I'll be back after. Please Mica try and eat the baby needs the food as well.” She stated as she headed for the door.

  “Yeah, I’ll try.” Mica mumbled.

"Lt. Deeks please let me know when she's eaten her breakfast.” She said and Mica watched as she left via the sliding doors. There was no handle on either the inside or the outside. It was all controlled from a security desk in the hall.

Mica got up after she devoured the bar and fruit cup to sit at the table. She moved the horrid looking stuff around on the plate with the plastic fork. It left a slimy wet trail on the grey coloured tray. Nevertheless she knew Karen had a point. The baby needed the nourishment as much as she did.

"It helps if you take a bite and then a drink ma'am.” The man at the door said.

"You want it?” She asked looking up at LT. Deeks.

"No thank you. I ate the real thing before I came to work.” He said without any expression on his face.

"How nice.” She snarled sarcastically. She took a breath and shoveled a fork full of the egg into her mouth. Mica fought not to gag on the tasteless wet slimy texture; she followed it with a drink of milk. It made it easier to swallow but not by much.

The doors opened and she saw Collin walk in. He looked all business in his fancy suit and perfectly styled hair. The mere sight of him made her grit her teeth. He motioned with his head for Lt. Deeks to leave.

"What do you want?” She demanded.

"We already had this discussion months ago on the house boat...I want what's rightfully mine.”

"What do I have to do with this?"

"Everything Mica. Everything.” He told her as he ran his fingers through her hair and a cruel grin played on his lips.

He moved to sit across from her and looked at her nibbled at food then, to her.

"You need to start eating. I am being generous allowing you to keep his baby. When I'm done the three of us will be the last of the Feral Pack. Together you and I are going to make a new breed of werewolf.” He told her. She felt her skin crawl at his words.

Collin reeked of lust and she was nervous of him.

"Once you have this baby Mica you'll be mine.” He smiled as he said it, his eyes cast no emotion.

"I'd rather die Collin then let you touch me!” She snarled out and tossed the tray of food at him.

"Now, now, let's not get all upset. It’s not good for the baby.” He said with a dark chuckle. He wiped the food from his expensive looking suit.

"I'll be back later to bring you to your Doctor's appointment. You may want to clean this up." He said and turned and walked to the door leaving her to worry about what he wanted to do to her.

Victor awoke in a cold sweat. He looked around wildly as he came to a sitting position as his nightmare f
aded away with the last dregs of sleep. The explosive retort of the gun was still very vivid in his mind. It was a dream he had nearly every night. He got up and noticed the first rays of the sun cresting on the horizon,. At five in the morning many of his pack were starting to stir and he saw the lights coming on in their homes.

Today was the seven month anniversary of when he and his men had kidnapped Mica from her home. They were still in the process of getting to know one another when he lost her but he’d fallen in love with her in that short time. He knew now that it had been a mistake to steal her. It had cost him so much and not only was he and Mica paying the price, but so was his entire pack. It was too late to change it, he thought to himself. He poured a cup of coffee and grabbed the remote for the TV.

His thoughts lay heavy on his mate. The what if’s rolled around in his mind. Things should never have turned out this way. He thought that if only they had taken the boat out and anchored in the middle of the lake then all of this might not of happened. Or maybe if they had stayed in town, here in his parents’ home, within the safety net of the pack.

Victor hadn’t even finished half his cup when it went crashing to the floor as he stared wide eyed at the ethereal apparition standing in front of his kitchen sink.

"It's me, Ajei.” He heard it say and an icy chill ran down his spine as the nearly see through spirit form spoke.

  "Whoa!"

"You need to get your pack in position...they are coming!” She said. Her voice sounded neither excited nor fearful. If anything it was monotone, like no soul was in the misty form as it talked to him. This wasn't the first time he’d seen her do this but it was still nerve racking.

Alert, tense and ready, Victor made for the back door. He opened it and shifted. With an eerie mournful howl, he called his pack out. They had been preparing for this battle for weeks now. Frank's Beta Bryce and twelve of the Valtor home pack had been left behind with three Shaman women. Ajei had foreseen this battle. She said the cost to his side would not be grave as long as he didn't let pride get in his way.

Ajei was a nice lady but a little cryptic at times.

Swiftly and silently he padded to the meeting grounds. They had a clear idea of how many were coming and from what direction. Armed with that knowledge, Victor knew his pack had the advantage. The rouge pack was looking to take the territory from them and the union between the two packs was a closely guarded secret. That would be another advantage they had until it got out.

As the group of wolves gathered, they found their hunting partners and fanned out to encircle the enemy as they came in from the north. Victor, his cousin Sam and a young male from the Valtors headed for the park where Ajei had told them to go. She said if they took out the Alpha and Beta the rest would be weakened enough to send them running without too many deaths.

  He hoped she was right.

  Chapter 14

Mica sat on the edge on the exam table as Doctor Martine took her blood pressure and other vital stats. Then he picked up her chart and jotted it down.

"Well she's gained two pounds since last week and her blood work came back. There was a spike in her blood sugars. We will need to keep an eye on that.” He told his boss standing beside her.

"Lie on your back and put your feet in the stirrups.” The doctor told her as he slipped a blue glove on his hand and she went stiff.

"Do what the doctor told you Mica!" Collin's firm voice commanded her and she glared up at him. The hate and fear she felt towards him was nearly all consuming. He held the key to her freedom and her life was his to do what he wanted...no one here dared to disobey him.

Slowly she manoeuvred herself into the position the doctor wanted her in. He pulled a white paper sheet over her bare legs that stuck out from the green Johnny shirt. The feeling of cold wet glove covered fingers pushing up into her made her face scrunch up. It was uncomfortable and as he moved his fingers around she felt the tears in her eyes. Mica hated this, hated the doctor touching her, and hated Collin watching every time as if it was his right to be here to bear witness to this.

When he was done, he patted her leg and stood up discarding the glove in a stainless steel garbage bin.

"You can get dressed now Mica.” He said and headed for the door with Collin close on his heels.

The sounds of the corridor seeped into the small exam room as they walked out. She watched Lt. Adams entered in his all black uniform with his sidearm and stone grey eyes. Privacy was not something she was allowed to have. Ever moment of her day was watched by either Lt. Adams or Lt. Deeks. Both her guards wore the same uniform, were both about the same size and built. But were Deeks stared at her with curious suspicion, Adams tried very hard not to look directly at her at all. At least when he thought she could tell, he stole glances when he thought she wasn't looking.

Mica struggled to pull her long smock style dress over her head after she turned her back on Adams. She happened to catch him looking at her bare backside from a small mirror over the stainless steel sink. Scenting the air she smelled it. His desire, it's what happened every single time he did look at her. Adams lust had continued to grow now for the past several months and she believed it's why he tried to not look at her.

Turning around, she attempted to slip her soft fuzzy slippers onto her feet and she staggered and nearly fell. The strong hands of Lt. Adam had caught her and she clung onto him, her heart raced in her chest. Their nearness to one another spiked his arousal and she blushed, he didn't know she smelt his musky want.

"Ma'am, are you all right?” He asked with great concern that seemed genuine.

"Yes just tired.” She whispered as he hadn’t let go of her.

"Maybe you should sit for a minute. I'll get the doctor.” He told her and tried to help her to the small exam table.

"No I'm fine. I just want to go to my cage.” She told him, her voice quivering slightly.

"All right.” He said and let her go so she could walk towards the door.

Stepping into the corridor, she saw the doctor as he was explaining his findings to his boss. A look of worry played on Collin’s brow and as he saw her his eyes looked from her to her guard.

"Take her to her cell and tell Karen no more sweets for her! I'll be bringing her new diet menu when I come down." Collin ordered

"Yes Sir!" Adams exclaimed in his military way and led her towards the security elevators. He placed his left eye in front of a scanner and slipped his right hand onto the palm scanner to gain access to it. The doors opened and they stepped inside

"Basement level 12, Biolab's security code Adams 25809823 Echo One" Lt. Adams told the voice recognition controls. It's the only way the thing would move. Another security feature here at The Infinity Biogenetics Labs. The security was all the same here, escaping would be impossible.

The doors closed and they began their descent. Mica wasn't sure how many floors were above or below, nor exactly where here was. The place seemed alive around the clock. With a small crew of military type guards, the doctors, and lab techs. As well as several businessmen that would be walked passed her cage every once in a while. They were all human every last one of them except for the traitor Greg Harrison, and one other captive. She only ever saw Greg a few times in the time she was here. The other captive she’d only smelt and heard. His scent was vaguely familiar as well but for the life of her she couldn't place it.

As the doors to the elevator opened she stepped out and eyed the short corridor. There was her cell just before the guards' station and a cell just afterwards. At the end of the hall was the large seal grey metal doors that lead to the where they did their experiments on her. One of the four guards in this isolated hall was at the second cell door talking to Karen. She was going over the male captives chart. As both she and Adams walked to her cage the sealed door opened with a hiss of air being released. It was controlled by a guard at the small cubicle station.

She made for her rocking chair and eased herself into it. She looked up to see Lt. Adams standi
ng in his usual position at the entrance. His gaze darted away and she knew he’d been sneaking a look again. While she slowly rocked herself back and forth she sung a lullaby as she rubbed her large tummy.

In two months she’d be at her due date. By the ultrasound they calculated that she most likely got pregnant the first time her and Victor had mated. Soon their baby girl would be born and Mica felt the tears roll from her eyes again. She knew how happy Victor would have been to have a daughter.

  * * * ~~~ * * *

Scott made the call. His sister was in full agreement with his plan. He needed to wait though and that bothered him. The young woman sitting in the rocking chair looked uncomfortable and he wished there was something he could do for her to ease her suffering. Three months was a long time to wait and he wasn’t sure Mica would survive that long.

The experiments had been taking a toll on her. He saw the dark circles under her eyes. Listless and depressed, the girl seemed to be giving up. He couldn’t have that happen. As rare as she-wolves were, this one needed to be saved. His sister wanted more than what she was telling him from the girl. He knew it instinctively. Being twins they had that connection and his she-wolf sister had a keen interest in what it was Collin was working on.

Scott wanted more from Mica as well. She was beautiful, fragile and sweet. The longing he felt every time he looked at her was growing. He felt the attraction the night they invaded Timber territory and took her. He knew that getting her out of here in one piece might be futile but he was working on it. Unfortunately it would take time, and that was something he didn’t think Mica had much of.

  * * * ~~~ * * *

Victor's fangs sank deeply into the large Alpha's neck. With a violent shake of his head, he tried to break his enemy's neck. The effect was far from effective and the other male tore free with a loud yelp. The enemy's grey fur was matted with both Victor's blood and that of the now gravely injured interloper. Still he wasn't backing down and he lunged at him. They grappled together and rolled, snarling, biting and growling viciously. Blood, spit and other fluids now saturated the ground where they fought with the ferocity that two Alpha's would.
