I licked my lips and croaked. “You…stupid…”
I’d meant the insult to be a revelation of verbal assault, but again my mouth wasn’t listening to my brain. “Should killed him…”
His brows drew together in worry and a muscle in his jaw twitched. “You should stop talking, Rose. We need to get you help.”
His hold on me tightened.
My eyes crossed and I knew I was dangerously close to passing out, but I needed him to know first. I needed him to know that though I would be eternally grateful to him for saving my guys, he was the worst kind of idiot.
He had the fucker in the palm of his hand, and he let him go…
If I learned anything from the one vampire I’d ever let get away, it was that they always came back to bite you in the ass.
“Stupid fuckermother.” I grumbled.
Azrael smirked. “Yes,” he breathed, the smirk fading as he adjusted me in his arms and began to walk away from the flames and smoke. “You might be right.”

I’m having a blast writing this series, and I truly hope you’re enjoying reading it. I started this one as a fun way to blow off some steam between other ongoing projects and it has completely taken over. Originally, this was going to be a trilogy, but the story of Rose and her guys is going to need more than that to do it the justice it deserves.
