Prydon watched from above. Darius was restless, but the dragon knew he must not linger. The boy would be fine—Barsovy would make sure of that.
With one last circle, he vanished above the clouds, leaving behind a starlit outline, a gift from Barsovy to offer the boy some solace.
Barsovy was strong, and in a way, he was the human equivalent of Segrath, the one Prydon must now face…if only Barsovy could have offered him some sort of protection. But it could not be helped. Where Prydon had to go was a place beyond even Barsovy’s reach…or power.
