“Yes,” I choked, feeling him pressing every single button, brushing against every nerve.

I was panting and moaning too much to kiss him, as his lips brushed my ear. “I love you,

baby. Let me feel you. Let me feel you come all over my cock. Let me feel you explode all

  around me.”

He certainly knew precisely how to throw gasoline on a fire.

My scream probably echoed all the way down the beach through the open window. “Harder,

harder,” I rasped, feeling his fingers dig into my ass as he thrust up into me. I came so hard the world went dark and blurry for a few seconds, while a flash of heat seared through

  every single nerve.

Mitch seemed to be able to feel the pressure, his deep groan shaking both of us. “That’s it,

  baby.”

His strokes became quick and jerky, then I squealed as I felt liquid heat inside me. It was so bizarrely satisfying that it extended my climax until I collapsed against his chest, breathless and weak.

His hands stroked my back gently. “Becca, sweetie, how do you feel?” he asked softly.

Pushing myself up to look into his eyes, he looked relieved as soon as he registered my

  grin. “Amazing. Adrenaline drunk.”

“I guess that’s good enough for now,” he said, gently rolling me so that I was on my back.

He stroked my hair, snuggling me against his shoulder. “I can’t begin to tell you what it

means that you chose me for your first time.” I looked up in surprise: my big tough guy

  almost sounded choked up.

“I love you,” I whispered. “Just in case you forgot.”

“I will never forget,” he said, his fingertips stroking the side of my face. “I love you, Becca.”

Lying together naked was quickly becoming one of my favorite things. I was almost drifting

off, when my eyes snapped open as he said, “When we get back to the city, I’d like you to

consider moving in with me as soon as you’re comfortable. Not right away, but whenever

we’ve been dating long enough that you feel relaxed about it. Does that sound good?”

My chin tipped up and down against his skin. “That sounds like a very good idea. I’ll just have to run it past some people first.”

The vibration of his chuckle went straight through my left ear. “Do you need to ask your

brother’s permission? If so, I could have him over for dinner a few times to pave the way

  first.”

“No, you’ll have to meet my four girlfriends so that they can ask you a thousand questions.”

“The new boyfriend check . No problem.”

I loved that he was even confident about facing the girls. I knew they would pretend to be

rough and strict with him, but after the meeting they would dissolve into giggles and gush

about how cute we were together.

As I fell asleep in his arms, I realized we really were cute. We were a good team. Not only

did he make me scream, he understood me when I was silent. It was exactly what I had

always been looking for in a man, when I hadn’t realized I’d been looking at all.

  *** One Year Later ***

The sound system was tuned to soft French jazz. The white wine was out of the fridge and

sitting on the counter so it could warm up just a few degrees. Dinner was almost ready, and

I had tried to clean up my mess as I cooked.

I had asked Mitch what he thought we should do for our one year anniversary, and he made

me promise no gifts, and no fuss. But I thought at the very least it was worth having a nice

  dinner.

Sure, we made each other extravagant meals all the time, making up all sorts of special

occasions as an excuse. Our one month anniversary. Our two month anniversary when I

moved in. Our six month anniversary, when we began looking at houses.

Now that we had found and purchased an adorable house just a pinch outside of

downtown, we were anxiously waiting to get the keys in another eight weeks.

Life with Mitch was unbelievably exciting when I wanted it to be, and totally mellow when I

needed that. He understood completely when I needed some alone time to recharge, and

the guest bedroom was now my reading lounge.

As well as his coding, programming, and app development, Mitch had also become a

consultant for a few local small movie companies. I went with him once as he surveyed the

set, pointing out every way a simple stunt could be made to look more dramatic without

  compromising safety.

I was glad that I hadn’t known him in that other life. I would have been terrified every day he went to work. Simply doing a little coaching enabled him to remain in the movie world, while

  staying completely safe.

“Sweetie, I’m home.” Quickly wiping my hands, I rushed into my gorgeous boyfriend’s arms.

  “Hey, dinner smells amazing.”

“Thanks. It just needs to simmer for about ten more minutes.”

“Perfect, come with me.” He took my hand and led me to the front window, looking out over

an absolutely beautiful view of a large park. “In two months, our living room will be

overlooking our own backyard,” he grinned.

I stretched up to kiss him. “I can’t believe we found such a perfect house.”

He looked oddly serious for a moment. “There’s a lot of pressure for people to get things

  perfect sometimes.”

I shrugged. “To be honest, I think that the obsession for perfection is a bit unhealthy. How

about just doing things very well? That should be good enough.” I smiled up at him. “But I’m

pretty sure dinner turned out perfectly, so don’t worry.”

His deep chuckle rumbled through the room, then he turned serious again.

“Sweetie, if I took you out to a restaurant for dinner, and while we were there, I left the

table for a moment, and returned by doing a huge stunt fall down the stairs, landing at your feet…would you freak out?”

“Absolutely.” Shaking my head, I tucked into his shoulder tighter. “I would be screaming and

in tears before I remembered that you were a stunt guy and knew how to fall.”

“That’s what I thought. And if you were standing on the beach, and I was driving a jet ski

that headed straight for you, hit the shore, and I leapt off it with an explosion, flipping

through the air and tumbling to your feet, would that freak you out?”

“I would be shaking for days,” I said quickly. “Why are you asking me these crazy things?”

Mitch kissed me gently, then sat me in the large easy chair, holding my hands as he knelt in

front of me. “I kept thinking of all sorts of crazy, extravagant ways I could end up on my

knees in front of you, but I didn’t want to frighten you, or cause any kind of public

  spectacle.”

He stared down at where his large hands held mine, taking a breath. As his eyes met mine,

I had to choke back tears as I realized what he meant.

“Becca, I love you. My only goals in life involve making you happy, and making our home

everything you need. I want to be your man forever. Will you marry me?”

I was already nodding, my hair falling into my face, as he reached into his pocket to pull out a little black velvet box. “Yes,” I managed to whisper.

“I haven’t even opened the box yet,” he smiled “We need visual proof of big events, don’t

  we?”

Flipping open the box, my eyes darted back and forth between his brilliant smile and the

unbelievable brilliant cut diamond. To each side was a small light blu
e sapphire.

My hand flew to my throat as I squealed, “Did you add the blue to remind me of the

  beach?”

“More than that,” he grinned. “Look on the inside.”

My hands were shaking as I picked up the ring and looked inside the band. There was a

wavy line engraved, capturing a row of little speckled stones that were almost too small to

  see.

“I gave the jeweler a cup of sand from the exact spot you were standing when I met you,”

  he said softly.

For a solid ten seconds, I couldn’t even breathe. “It’s beautiful,” I finally gasped. “I can’t believe you had this made.” As he slipped the ring on my finger, I could barely focus. “Yes,”

  I said again.

Mitch leaned in to kiss me, wrapping his thick arms around me as he rocked me gently. “We

can have any kind of wedding you want, sweetie. I know you don’t like being the center of

attention, so we could just have a handful of people at the beach house. We could wait a

while if you want to book somewhere fancy.”

“Let’s do it next month,” I said. “A nice, mellow weekend at the beach house. I’ll design the invitations, Kim and Laura can do the photography, Kate can be in charge of the music, and

Joanna will be in charge of keeping me calm,” I giggled.

“Then what am I supposed to do?” Mitch grinned.

  “Social coordinator and bartender.”

  “Done.”

He stood up, pulling me to him. “What kind of perfect couple plans their entire wedding in

  thirty seconds flat?”

“Stop saying perfect,” I laughed. “That word should be banned from weddings, above all

  else.”

  “Okay, I’ll just say wonderful.”

As his lips met mine, I was swept away in waves of love, lust, and gratitude. This tough guy

was incredibly sweet, and I was extremely grateful that the very first man I relaxed enough

to let into my world turned out to be absolutely perfect for me.

  I mean, wonderful.
