“You were hurting. You are still hurting. It’s a process we will be cursed with forever. But, through the good and the bad, we’ll stick together.” She assured him

He kissed her lower lips as she smiled. “You’d make a good wife, you know that, right?”

She giggled. “Yeah. I don’t know why my asshole boyfriend won’t propose yet.”

“I think he wants to make sure that he gets the right ring.”

“I don’t care about a ring, I just need him, the right man for me.”

  “Will you marry him?”

She looked into his eyes, “Yes.”

It was five in the morning and Kayla woke up to the sounds of Klayton’s grunting coming from the floor. She leaned over and saw that Klayton was on the floor doing push ups. He was drenched in sweat and his hair was wet.

“How long have you been up?”

  “About an hour.”

“Do we still have blood bags?”

He stopped exercising so that he could talk to her. He stood up and faced her. “The thermos next to you is a bloody smoothie. It’s fucking disgusting. You’ll love it.” He grinned at her as he laid at the end of the bed and massaged and caressed her feet.

“You know she is going to be one.”

“She? When will we get to know the gender?”

“I don’t want to know, but usually between sixteen to twenty weeks.” A thought entered her mind and she smiled. “How much time do we have before you have to go?”

“You want a round two?” He asked as he looked up at her.

She said nothing as her lips smirked at him. She had slept without any underwear nor pants since last night.

He got between her legs and her tender thighs were now gracing his cheeks.

In his heart he knew that he was going to come back to her, yet he kissed and loved her body as if it was going be their last time together.

As it became more intense, he had her lift her knees up while she remained lying down. Then he wrapped his arms around her legs as if they were handles for him to hold on to as he tightened his grip on her skin.

Kayla ran her nails through his hair caressing and scratching his head as she enjoyed the pleasure that she was receiving from him. It had always been meaningless and without passion in the past, but everything that Klayton did to her drove her crazy

Her toes tightened as the passion between them increased. He looked up at her and she nodded, and he then proceeded to insert his dick inside of her and then began to thrust with a rhythm as she moaned.

He had an hour to be with her before having to head out, and he was going to make every second count with Kayla; the woman who had stolen his heart.

Klayton was now between her legs and inside of her, and he caressed her face and brushed back her hair as she kissed his lips.

She wanted him to feel the love that she felt towards him, and to make him as happy as he was making her. Kayla did not know how long he was going to be gone for, and she wanted to make sure that he was going to miss her, because she could not take him out of her mind.

Klayton had just finished tying up his combat boots. He picked up his backpack that he had placed on a chair, and walked back to Kayla who was laying down on the bed, smiling at him. He kissed her forehead. “You sure you will be okay?”

“Yes. I want to be useful. I can’t be a burden.”

“Okay babe. If you don’t hear from us in two days- “

“Yes, babe. Go, they’re waiting for you.” She chuckled.

Klayton looked at her one last time and left. He locked the hotel room and then got on the elevator. A parking attendant had already drove his car into the valet parking area, and handed him the keys as he got to the car. He gave the man a tip, entered the car, and drove away.

From his car’s Bluetooth, he called Nero. “Are we ready?”

“Yeah, same place. Everything is good. Ethan and Amber are with me. How far are you from us?”

  “Fifteen minutes.”

  ●●●

They had agreed to meet under a bridge, five miles from the location that Nicholas had given them. When he arrived, Nero was inside the car on the driver’s seat, and Ethan and Amber were outside talking.

He was not expecting Amber to be there, but it was a welcomed surprise. He got off the car and Amber walked over to him and hugged him. They had not seen each other since Klayton had a sit down with Kayla. They both had suffered losses. “I am so sorry for everything I put you through.” He told her, with tears down his eyes.

“No, Klayton, there were a lot of other players involved in everything that has happened. Stop taking all the blame for it. And I am so fucking sorry for what happened to Dante.” The thought of him made her upset. Both of the Kordovah brothers had meant a lot to her as they had all grown up together. “This ends today, right?”

“Right.” He did not feel the need to tell her about his future plans against the Celestial Elders.

Ethan had respectfully given them space, but now, he walked over to them. “Hey, man. Is Kayla okay? I thought that she was coming with you.”

Klayton had been thinking over the car ride what to say to that question. But, he decided to remain honest with them. “Nicholas called me and told me that he was beginning to worry about the safety of his wife and kids, so Kayla volunteered to be on the lookout for them. She’s nearby them. If word gets out that Nicholas betrayed Ezekiel and they try to harm them, she will protect them.”

“Ready to see all the goodies I got?” Nero said as he joined them. The Elite vampire could not stop smiling.

“Let’s see what you did with my money.” He walked with him to the trunk of the car. Nero opened it and Klayton took a look at all the weapons that Nero purchased. “Jesus Christ. We really are going to war, huh?”

  “Yeah… Are you scared?”

“It’s one thing saying it is going to happen, it’s another when you are a few miles away from doing it and going guns blazing.”

  Nero had purchased the following:

  Four AR-15

  One MSR Long Range Rifle

  Main Defense PDX Pistol

  Walter Q5 Match SF Handgun

  GGP Competition Pistol

  McMiller A-10 Sniper Rifle

Tactical Edge Comrade AK Rifle with a silencer attached

  JTS M12AR Semi-automatic shotgun

  Typhoon F12Shotgun

  UTAAS XTR-12 Semi-automatic shotgun

  Gen-12 Shotgun

There were also a couple of grenades, boxes of ammo for all weapons, axes, machetes, flare guns, and, “A ninja star?” Klayton asked.

  “Yes. Does this bother you?”

“You want to take them on with a ninja star?”

  “Yeah.”

Klayton paused for a moment. He was getting excited. “Did you buy just one?”

  “I got one for each.”

“Okay. I’m excited. Let’s see how it will be when we throw one with our strength.” Klayton then picked one up and touched one of the throwing star’s tip. It instantly made him bleed. “Damn, how much was it?”

  “One fifty.”

“Not bad for five of them.”

  “One fifty, each.”

  “Damn, they better be effective.”

“You really think we are going to win this?”

“We have to. This has to end today. Ezekiel has to die today. He has been killing anyone with a supernatural ability, even if they were innocent. That has to stop.”

Ethan called them out. “You guys ready?”

“Let’s go. I’ll take half of these to your car, and I’ll go with you.” Nero said as he put the guns away in duffle bags and then began to carry them to Klayton’s car.

Klayton walked over to the couple and said, “We will take the lead, just follow us, okay? Cops won’t be a problem. Nicholas put the word out not to look for us. He has half of the faction on his side already. We take Ezekiel out, then we worr
y about the rest. You guys can still back down if you have changed your mind.”

  “Hell, no.” Amber said.

“He is the reason why your brother died. If we can help you, we will.” Ethan said. “Let’s go.”

Nero was driving while Klayton was finishing typing a text message to Kayla. “You do know that we may die today, right?”

After he hit sent, he put his phone away and looked at Nero. “I hope not. But I can’t think about that right now. I just hope for the best and that everything will turn out okay.”

He thought about how to put the words together to tell Nero. It was not going to be easy, because of his past history with her. He decided to be blunt about it. “She’s pregnant. Two months now.”

“And you are okay with that? Even with what that implies.”

  “Yes.”

“Okay, I get it. I’m happy for you two. We’re here.”

Nicholas had disabled the cameras, and alarm systems. He had called the city police that they had on their pocket and informed them not to intervene with whatever was going to happen.

“I hope that he kept his word.” Nero said.

Ezekiel and Nicholas were inside the penthouse. They had just finished arranging every item where it needed to be. Nicholas had just left the bathroom after he had gone to text Klayton that he was in position.

As he walked back into the living room, Ezekiel was just finishing signing a receipt for the room service meal that he had ordered for the both of them. The waiter placed the food, drinks, and utensils on the table, and then left.

  “Let’s eat. I’m starving.”

Nicholas nodded and sat down in front of him. He was trying his best to remain calm as he was anxiously waiting for Klayton to make his move. He looked at the food on his plate; a well cooked steak with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. There were two ice buckets; one with sodas and beer, and the other one had a champagne.

Ezekiel was reminded of a time when they were able to have dinners like this with their families together, before he had taken over after his father died.

“I know this is your favorite meal, or has Annabelle change your appetite?”

“No, this is perfect. I miss this. I wish that we could do this more often with our wife and kids.” He took a big piece of his steak and ate it.

“I wanted to thank you for today and for everything that you have done for us. Every day that passes, there are less and less people that I can trust.” He took a sip of his champagne.

“You know I will always have your back. No matter what we are against.” He drank some of his beer. “I gotta ask though, what is the end game? I don’t think that we will ever be able to kill every single paranormal creature out there. How are we going to stop Klayton?

“Glad you asked.” Ezekiel got out of his chair and then left the room. A minute passed by and he then returned with a wooden box. He placed it on the table, in front of Nicholas. “Open it.” He said as he sat back down.

Nicholas was curious. He carefully lifted up the top of the box and then looked inside. There was a curved ten inch dagger, with a blade made of stainless steel. The handle was decorated with silver stones, and carved on it was Psalm 37:40.

Nicholas remembered the scripture. “And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked; and save them, because they trust in him.”

“I’m glad that you remembered that scripture.”

  “Of course.”

“It seemed appropriate. This is the answer to our problems. This blade will kill any vampire, werewolf, hybrid, or any paranormal abomination that we may need to take care of.”

  “Was it enchanted?”

“Not exactly. It’s from the Sword of David,”

  “King David?”

“Yes. According to the lore, when David wanted to build a temple for God, the Lord denied his request because of how much blood he had shed. David decided to still make the blueprints and gather the materials for somebody else to carry the work for him.

Overcome with gratefulness, God rewarded David by blessing his sword with the ability to kill any paranormal entity. No demon or giant or anything was safe from David. I found it, and I had it melted and turned into five daggers. This is one of them.”

''However you plan on doing this, I want to be part of it. I will do whatever it takes.”

Ezekiel took another sip of his champagne. Then, he said, “I still remember when my grandfather picked you up from the streets. One of the last bizarre things that he ever did before he passed away. We took you in and treated you like family.” He placed his glass down.

“I know that I’ve been different. Asking you to kill the paranormal, no matter who, and even kids. Yet, you refused and I had to relieve you from your task. It was not something that I needed everyone to see. I can’t afford to have soldiers with doubts in their heads. I thought that maybe sending you away to your family, would do you some good. To let you see how great your life is.”

“And I have nothing but respect and gratitude for what you and your family has done for me. I didn't mean to disrespect you like I did.”

“You must think that I am sadistic, or that I have lost my mind. But those two? A vampire queen and a werewolf are too powerful by themselves. But the moment that Alaina told us about a potential alliance between them, I knew that we had to act fast. Those two together could only mean bad things”

“Well, how do you want us to handle it?” Nicholas asked. He was beginning to wonder if Klayton was in position.

“Well, I gotta take care of a rat infestation first.” From under the table, Ezekiel shot Nicholas three times. Each time, hitting his leg.

Nicholas groaned as he felt the pain from the bullet wound. He pressed his head on the table and cursed.

“You were a piece of shit trash when we took you in. We gave you a home, and raised you under our beliefs. Hell, that’s how you met your wife. That’s how you got a free house after you married her.” He walked over to Nicholas, and grabbed him by his hair, “You have been given and handed everything in your life, and yet, you betray me?”

Ezekiel pushed Nicholas’ head face first onto the table, and kept slamming it over and over until he was bleeding from his nose and mouth. “I know it was you who betrayed me. And it’s going to be me who makes an example out of your ass. Come on!”

Ezekiel grabbed his best friend by the shoulder and made him stand up. The pain was too unbearable and Nicholas fell to the ground. “Oh, no. Don’t pussy out on me.” He hit Nicholas on the forehead with his CPX-3 pistol, giving him a cut on his cheek, and making him bleed. “You got the balls to betray me, let me see them now as I beat the shit out of you.”

He raised his hand to hit him again, and before he could swing down with all of his strength at Nicholas, a bullet penetrated his wrist. Ezekiel dropped the gun, held his wounded hand by its wrist, and grunted. “Shit!” He looked around, confused, trying to figure out from where it had come from.

“Asshole has been hit.” Amber said after having fired the Savage 10 BA sniper.

“You got him babe.” Ethan confirmed while he looked through his rifle’s scope. “My turn.” He smiled and shot his McMillan A10 rifle, making direct contact with Ezekiel’s chest. He dropped instantly, and they celebrated. “He’s down.”

Amber took a deep breath and Ethan kissed her. “Now we got to wait for them.”

  ●●●

“Okay, she said it’s clear.” Nero told Klayton. They then stepped outside of their car with their guns on them, and entered the hotel lobby. It was empty, except for the four men who guarded the front of the elevator.

Klayton pulled the trigger on his Tactical Edge Comrade AK rifle and fired warning shots into the roof. “Any person who wants to redeem himself from being a dumb ass for their poor choices, leave now!”

All the Huntsmen stood still and none wavered. “We stand with Ezekiel.” They ai
med their guns at the two of them.

“Then you die with him.” Nero raised his Heckler and Koch M5A2. He aimed at them and as he was about to fire, they pulled their triggers first. “Oh, shit!” He yelled as bullets rain towards their direction.

The two of them sprinted away and took cover behind some pillars. “Dude, what the hell? It was supposed to be easy!” Nero exclaimed.

“When has shit ever been easy for us?!” Klayton shot bullets back at the guards while he remained behind the pillar.

  The men kept shooting.

“How have they not had to reload their weapons yet?!”

Klayton signaled him to wait. A few seconds later they heard the sounds of the guns having empty clips. “Now!” Klayton yelled.

They moved from behind the pillars and charged at them with their rifles aiming at them. Klayton took one Huntsman while Nero eliminated a second one.

The Huntsmen were skilled shooters, and they had hit Nero and Klayton multiple times. Their clothes were now bloody, and the bullets had stung them. Yet, their vampirism and lycanthrope was already healing them.

Two Huntsmen left, and they had dropped their weapons and now had their hands raised as a sign of surrender. Nero aimed his gun at both of them.

Klayton placed his hand on Nero’s gun, and gently pressed it down, so as to not startle Nero into pulling the trigger.

“That is not us, dude. We don’t kill people after they surrender.”

Nero could not believe what Klayton had just said. “Yeah, well, how many of our kind have they killed?!”

  “I don’t care about that!”

  In disbelief, Nero asked, “What?”

“I don’t care about who they have killed. They probably deserved it. My only concern is Kayla, Amber, Ethan, Fay, Mila, Antonio, and of course, you.” He then looked at their prisoners of war and said, “These two are smart. We will need them for when Nicholas takes over.”

Nero looked at them and said, “Spread the word. Nicholas is your leader now.”
