Before she could say anything, he dropped his lips to hers in one long kiss making up for all those times he’d thought of kissing her. She smelled like flowers. Of course she did. When he finally pulled away, her arms were around his waist and her eyelids remained shut.

“I’m sorry it took you so long too,” she muttered breathlessly as she opened her eyes.

He smiled down at her face and saw things so much differently. She had always been right there waiting for him in her own independent way. They were going on an adventure neither one of them had planned, or was she making a list in her head right now? He kissed her once more, deeper, if possible, just in case. He didn’t want her thinking about anything but this kiss.

As he brought his head up, he whispered into her ear.

“I’m pretty sure this is a sin.”

Lily brought her arms around his neck and pulled him closer for another kiss in front of God and everyone. Now that she had him she wouldn’t be letting go anytime soon.

“Not yet, Devlin Pierce, not yet.”
