Lyrics/Dialogue
Any Given Sunday, screenplay by John Logan and Oliver Stone, directed by Oliver Stone, Warner Bros, Ixtlan, Donner’s Company (1999).
The haka, Ka Mate, was written by Te Rauparaha of Ngäti Toa.
Kapa o Pango was developed by the All Blacks with Derek Lardelli of Ngāti Porou using some lyrics of No Niu Tirini, the haka used by the 1924 All Blacks and descended from that of the earthquake God, Raumoko, Ko Ruaumoko e ngungurunei.
The phrases ‘barefoot guru’, ‘cups of carbohydrates’ and ‘huge schoolboys’ refer to Twenty Eight Heroes by Cochrane and Kerr.
