The Silver Knight saw Denise Drabos’ red truck heading back into town as he crossed the road. After he left Gil with instructions to leave town, he went back to his keep to pick up his arms and do battle with the Black Knight this one last time. He recognized the distress on Lord Stansbury’s Abomination and knew that there was only this one moment in time to finish it. If he was not successful, he would be lost and evil will have won the day. In his heart he could not believe that evil would prevail in this battle. He did not believe in that kind of world. In his world, good must overcome many hardships but in the end, it would reign victorious. He knew himself to be an avatar of goodness and he had been picked to fight this battle. He had been picked to do battle. He had been given the ability to know the evil’s true form and he was firm in his belief that his righteous victory was at hand.

So one last time he made his way through the forest towards the bridge. Armed with his axe and one hundred pounds of black powder and nothing more, not even his armor for if his victory was at hand, it did not matter if he survived and if it was not, no armor could protect him. He saw the bridge ahead and it seemed strangely calm, as if it was just a bridge and nothing more and it was just a lake and nothing more. But he knew better. He just hoped that the dark lord’s weakness was enough for this last campaign as he pulled his deadly cargo down to the lake.
