The Bunny-Hop Hoax
Page 4
Right foot, left foot, Nancy thought. Hop, hop, hop!
Nancy and her classmates did their best. When the festival was over, the fourth grade won first prize for their maypole dance. Mrs. Apple’s class won second prize for “Singing in the Rain.”
“Whoever heard of a maypole in April?” Brenda complained.
“And it’s not even raining!” Andrew said again.
But Nancy and her classmates had tons to be happy about. And that night in her bedroom, Nancy had tons to write in her detective notebook:
I guess practice really does make perfect. We won third prize in the Spring Festival—and a whole set of neon paints for our easel!
But there’s a lot more to cheer about. First, I solved the case. Second, we finally found Nibbles. And third, Bun Franklin has a great home at the Cottontail Bunny Ranch! Bun will like it there. He’ll have other bunnies to play with, lots of carrots, and plenty of bunny jokes too. It’ll be a fresh new start. Just like spring!
