She gasped at the sudden brashness and roughness of his thrusts, leaving behind the warm feeling that was pooling in her groins to be replaced by an irresistible and pleasurable fire. Her moans turned into muffled screams inside of his mouth and she prayed that everyone in the inn was too drunk and inebriated in alcohol to hear her scream but he didn’t care, and soon neither did she. The feel of his entire length in her pussy was enough for all the thoughts of anything other than the man on top of her, and his rough handling of her body. He bit one of her lips in between his as he finished his message.
“What I want is you to stay by my side, forever. Not as a helper, not as a servant, but my wife, and as the Lady Suthell. I want you to marry me, and I want you to be mine like I devote myself to you.” He muttered against her lips, trailing them leaving hot trails of fire once again so he could suckle on her neck. No need for a collar, his lips were torturous enough for he simply was feather light and didn’t go all in and it only increased the sensations they were getting.
“More! Please more!” Slowly she was begging him to never stop. “I’ll do it! I’ll be your wife! Just don’t stop! Please! Whatever you do, don’t stop!!!”
“I don’t intend to.” Huskily growling, he let all other thoughts of pleasuring her truly go as he focused on thrusting inside of her as fast and hard he could, looking down at her sweaty body heaving with his thrusts, her breasts jiggling and her mouth wide open. One of her hands was above her, the other in her mouth as she moaned and screamed out his name. Soon enough, her inner walls were tightening around his stiffness, grasping him tighter and tighter as she came close to her climax.
The knot inside of Alicia’s stomach had tightened up to such a point that there was no denying that it was about to break and it did break. It broke letting a flood of literal pleasure through her body, through her every cell and nerve as she thrashed around under him, moaning lewdly and screaming out his name. The sense of her tightening and refusing to let him leave was enough for Quinn as he himself, with one last thrust, buried as deep as he could inside of her and let go, flooding her cavern and womb with his seeds.
Alicia weakly moaned at the warm feeling of his essence joining inside of her stomach creating a pleasurable warmth, traveling all over her body. She gasped when he moved them so he was below her, with her resting atop him. His hands were around her, and he was looking at her in her eyes.
“I love you,” he said softly. “I truly do love you.”
Alicia smiled, tears pooling in her eyes as she leaned up to kiss him softly, giving herself entirely to him, and wrapping her arms tighter around his neck.
“I love you too.” And in each other’s arms, they went to sleep, their bodies and their very souls connected.
That entire day, during the travel to Minkh, Alicia spent it curled up in Quinn’s arms, gaining support from his presence and in return giving him support. She knew that the last night wasn’t just a single night fling, but something much more than that. The way he had treated her, the way he had talked to her after that and the words he’d given to her, they meant a lot more than just hot air.
‘Till now, I have only said what you can do. I have said that you can do this and you can do that. But I have not said what I want you to do.’ His voice rung in her head as she leaned further into his chest. One of his arms was around her shoulders, the other on the window as he looked outside at the increase in the palm trees. ‘What I want you to do is stay by my side, forever, not as a helper, not as a servant, but as my wife, and as the Lady Suthell. I want you to marry me, and I want you to be mine like I devote myself to you.’
His words had warmed up her heart so much that she couldn’t even believe in a simple day she had turned from a Servant and a nobody to the lover and possible future lady of a noble house. In a country far, far away from Marqueis and Vesille. She sighed in content, closing her eyes and thought of her future, good, amazing thoughts that she wished to see come to life one day.
“We’re really close,” Quinn said to her, his hand rubbing her hair. She looked up and smiled, her eyes filled with love and emotion. “Let’s just get ready. The ships will be waiting for us.”
Nodding, Alicia straightened up, making sure she was presentable. While she didn’t have any other clothes then the white night-gown she had been provided with from Azzie, having secured it from one of the local ladies, she did want to look presentable to people when she got down. And she looked up, waiting for Quinn to give her the permission to get out of the carriage.
Quinn raised his hand as the carriage stopped, his eyes narrowing down as he heard the soft murmurs and the talks between Azzie and the captain of the ship. Finally, Azzie opened the door to let them out and Quinn and Alicia found themselves face to face with the biggest sea vessel that Alicia had ever seen.
“It’s big,” Alicia commented, her hand still in Quinn’s. In fact, they hadn’t left each other’s presences ever since the magical night they had shared between them and as far as Quinn was considered, he wasn’t about to even let go so easily. “We have to get inside?”
“Yes.” Quinn nodded, ushering her on the ramp. “Yes, we do. Here you go, you need to get on first.”
“But... what about you?!” Alicia asked, looking at him with concern. “You’re coming too, right?”
“Yes.” Quinn nodded, winking. “Don’t worry, I won’t be leaving you anytime soon. It’s going to take much more than a ship to part us. Come on, the ship is full, only you, me and Azzie need to get on.”
Smiling at his words, she walked up the ramp and into the ship, but as if luck was against them they heard the sound of the unknown horses and those of swords and bloodshed. Quinn’s eyes widened as he noticed the flags of Nephil and growled when he looked at Vesille. Alicia gasped in fear, jumping back into the ship and backpedaling as if to get away from the fat man sitting on the horse. He had come with 10 other horsemen with him, all of them coming closer and closer to him. One of the riders was the figure of Bozo.
“Suthell! I told you, you’ll regret this!” Vesille growled. “You are going to die now! Both you and that foolish wench!”
“As if fathead!” Unsheathing his sword, Quinn looked on resolutely at Vesille. He looked at the ships and knew that a merchant ship won’t have any protections. Azzie was on the ship and had turned around to see Quinn unsheathing his sword. Just as he was about to jump in, Quinn’s look stopped him. “No, Azzie, you need to go. Get Alicia and the horses out of here.”
“What?!” Alicia exclaimed, running up to the side of the ship. “No! You can’t do that!”
“You can, and you will,” Quinn said, his attention back at the riders, who had now gotten down from their horses and were menacingly walking towards Quinn. “Go! Get the ship out of here!!”
“No!” Alicia shouted, getting on the ramp. She would have jumped down if not for Azzie grabbing her from the waist. “Let me go! This is because of me! He doesn’t need to die for this! QUINN!!!”
“Heh.” Quinn grinned darkly. “As if I am going to die from this. GO!! LEAVE!!! I’LL HANDLE THIS WASTE OF SPACE!!!!”
“Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, Suthell!” Bozo shouted, running towards Quinn. Quinn looked with a satisfied eye that the ship had slowly undocked, and instead focused on the battle in front of him. He couldn’t waver his attention, after-all. He had a woman waiting for him to return.
On the ship, Alicia collapsed against the pole, her eyes devoid of any emotion. It was as if her just rebuilt hopes and dreams had been shattered, instantly and immediately. The man she loved, the man she was going to have a future with, the man that had saved her, once again saved her, and this time for the good as it was either going to be Vesille, or either going to be him.
‘I.....’ Alicia thought to herself, her thoughts not on any single thing but only on the fact that Quinn gave her before they had left.
‘You won’t be getting rid of me so easily.’ He had promised as she climbed onto the ship.
So was this it? Was this the end of her promise? Was this the end of her dreams?
As the ship slowly sailed into the setting sun, with the raising night just in front of her, her world slowly turned dark, once again, like the life she had been living, unknown to her what was going to happen now. All was lost for her, all.

The ship had taken two weeks to get back to Drenston, with the news that Lord Suthell had stayed behind to let everyone, and he intended, escape. People had been shocked and had mourned his bravery but none admitted that he was dead, none. In the words of the people from Actnare, ‘Lord Suthell will be alive until we see a body’. And she really hoped that it was going to be the case. But when 4 months had passed since that day, she was losing hope.
The kingdom of Morsen, where Minkh was located, was at war with Marqueis now, because of Vesille. He had traveled through the kingdom without any permissions to do so and broken all the treaties. Actnare had offered help, but Morsen refused, stating this was a war between them and they had let Marqueis reign around for far too long. But there was no word from them whether or not Lord Suthell was alive or not, and she couldn’t stand it. She just couldn’t.
So she had asked Azzie to let her go, to let her stay somewhere alone in Actnare, and he had done so. He had given her a place to live at, a part of the property of the Suthell, a small cottage in the nearby forests. Very few people went there as it was a part of the Suthell family lands, and she found herself content living alone, and tending to her crops and flowers. Azzie had also given her all the riches she would ever need, but she didn’t touch them, she dared not touch them and worked overtime to start her own life.
Just after her normal day was finished, selling her latest produce out to the market, there was a knock on the door. At first, she thought it was just going to be Azzie, so she sighed and walked towards the door.
‘Another plea for me to return.’ Alicia thought, bitterly. She just couldn’t do it, not without Quinn. She opened the door, not knowing who was on the other side. Her eyes, though, widened considerably, her hands shooting to her mouth as she looked at her guest.
“Good Evening my Lady.” Quinn Suthell’s head tiled, one of his eyes covered in silky white bandages, an amused undertone to his words. He was wearing his same, noble robes, but with bandages all over his left arm, not that she could see inside because of his clothes. In fact, he looked as if he wasn’t missing an eye. “I am sorry for any inconvenience I caused you, I just wanted to see for myself how you were doing and if I may be of some service.”
“You... how...” Alicia’s lips started to tremble under her hands. “I... I thought you were... I thought you were dead!!!”
“For a second I did too.” Raising his hand to trace the bandages across his left eye, he winced. “I lost my left eye, had completely slashed my left hand, and even had multiple stab wounds to my chest but I didn’t lose. In the end, I managed to do as I had promised myself when I first saw Vasille and cut his disgusting little piggy head off.”
“You... YOU...” She jumped on him, her arms encircling his neck. At the sudden weight, Quinn winced but held her up. “You’re late you fool. You shouldn’t keep a lady waiting!”
“I told you,” Quinn gritted out, regardless of the pain, holding the woman close, as close as she could, to him. “You weren’t going to get rid of me so easily.”
As the sun shined on them once again, her world was rekindled with a flame she thought was lost, and Alicia had finally, finally gained her own freedom. Now, she was no longer just anyone, but she was known all around, all over the entire country of Actnare, that she was the one that captured the heart of the Lord Suthell, and one of the most beautiful women in the world.
But the place where she truly belonged was with him, in his arms.
The End
Diving Deep: Dragon Shifter Tales
Chapter 1
This year's craft fair seemed exceptionally promising, if the turnout was any indication.
Melanie walked the floors of the building where the craft fair was being hosted, scanning the rows of booths and wares. Many people were selling all kinds of handmade jewelry and other accessories, though one woman did have a stall of small felt plushies. When it came down to it, Melanie always looked forward to the craft fairs. Not only were they good for breaking up a monotonous weekend, but it was nice to see what people had been working on. She had something of a fondness for handmade crafts to begin with; combined with an equal fondness for window shopping and the craft fairs were her place to go whenever she could. With all the looking around and asking questions gave her thoughts of starting her own craft shop, but she didn’t think that what she made would be sellable just yet.
Nonetheless, the sheer variety made it hard to choose who to stop by for further investigation; though Melanie had bought and equipped a nice hair clip in her dark hair, after a while the stock got a bit overwhelming. In fact, the variety seemed to be having the opposite effect: everything seemed to be blending together. How many bracelets, necklaces, or earrings did a person need, anyway? While collecting knickknacks was fun, there had to be some kind of limit on it, lest she end up a minor hoarder.
"Excuse me."
Jolted out of her reverie, Melanie spun around to see a tall, dark-haired gentleman with brilliant blue eyes waiting for her. His hair was tastefully tied back in a low ponytail, and she could see he had dyed a dark blue streak into it on one side. He seemed to be about her age, maybe a year or two older if she had to guess; he was dressed casually in a t-shirt and jeans, but even simple clothing seemed to flatter his form. She felt heat rush to her face; she was no lovestruck schoolgirl, but this man was undeniably handsome. Once she got over the combined surprise and rush of attraction, she mumbled a quick, "Yes?"
"Is everything all right? You sort of just stopped and stared into space for a good few minutes," the man said.
"It was that long?" Boy, Melanie felt silly asking that. She didn't think she'd been spaced out for that long. "Sorry. Was I in anyone's way?"
The man chuckled, "No, not at all. It just seemed a bit odd, since everyone else was moving around you."
"Huh." Melanie looked around and was relieved to find that no one seemed to be staring at her. "I guess I just got a bit overwhelmed. Maybe a little sticker shock too."
"I see. Yes, that would happen in a place like this, wouldn't it?" The man looked over his shoulder. "Perhaps we could go to my booth so you could get your bearings? I have a spare map that should make it easy to determine where you are from there. It's in a less busy part of the fair, too, so that should help you clear your mind."
That was a pretty smooth way to get her to look at his wares, as far as Melanie was concerned. She had already been through so many of the stalls and she was worried that one more would make her head spin. Then again, this guy was willing to get up to check on her, which put him a step above the people who were just sitting and waiting at their stalls. Maybe one more stall wouldn't kill her after all. "All right, fair enough," she said. "Lead the way."
The two chatted as they went to the man's booth. "I should introduce myself," he said. "You can call me River. My shop is Riverflow Crafts. It's very nice to meet you."
"I'm Melanie," Melanie said, wondering whether the man's name or the shop name came first. "It's nice to meet you too."
"Have you bought anything yet?" River asked.
"Just a hair clip," Melanie said. "There were a few places I was thinking of going back to once I was done scoping things out, but now I'm not so sure."
River looked back at Melanie and nodded. "Decisions can be hard to make when there are so many things around."
"You're telling me." Melanie saw that a few of the stalls they were passing had interested customers by them. "It's like, 'do I want one of these, two of those, or one of this and this?' In my opinion, it's a matter of getting things you're sure you'll still like the next day."
"That sounds reasonabl
e," River said. "It sounds like you put a lot of thought into your purchases."
"I try to. No one likes to waste money, right?" Melanie said.
"I think it depends on who you ask." River lead Melanie off to the side. "And here we are." Sure enough, there was a table with a large sign that read "Riverflow Crafts" on it. River went back behind the booth and sat down, clasping his hands in front of him. "Feel free to take a moment to get your bearings. Of course, if you see anything you like, do let me know."
"Thanks," Melanie said, studying the various jewelry crafts for sale. One thing she noticed very quickly was that every item for sale had a blue piece on it somewhere. It didn't need to be the entire theme of the item, but the color was present everywhere. "So, you like the color blue?"
"Of course," River said. "Some people might criticize the decision to make everything so aquatic-themed, but I have my reasons. Really, what's bad about picking a theme and sticking to it?"
"Makes sense to me." Melanie picked up a bracelet for inspection. "At the very least, people know what they're getting from you."
"Yes, consistency is good," River said.
Melanie's attention ended up getting caught on a lovely pendant with a shining blue stone in it. The stone was teardrop-shaped and had curved wiring around it, almost like snakes bundling around it. Something about it gave her the sense that the wire snakes were protecting the stone, somehow. "This one looks like it's got a story to it," she mused aloud.
