“It’s as I expected.”
“Sir?”
“They’re on the move, or will be soon.”
“Terrence…,” said Daxton.
“I’ve made sure that Aiden is in command. I want them on the move in no less than three days,” said Mr. Cards.
“He’ll have them ready to go by morning,” said Daxton, looking away and out a window.
“Yes, but I said no less than three days. If I wanted them marching in the morning I would’ve said so. Aiden will leave when the time is right. He knows Terrence.”
Daxton looked down.
“I think you should trust Aiden.”
Daxton looked up.

“I’m ready.”
“You should say goodbye,” said Aiden.
“To Myrtle? Are we to die?”
“I’m not planning on it—are you?”
“Nay, but…”
“If you want to return to a, ‘Hello,’ you’ll need to leave her with a, ‘Goodbye.’”
“Aye.”
