Hendrix: A Raleigh Raptor Novel Page 10

by Whiskey, Samantha

I almost came right then and there. The sight of those crushing blue eyes flickering up to mine as his fingers undid the buttons on my jean shorts? The sight of this incredibly strong, confident man on his knees? I knew I was in trouble. Knew I wanted him so much I could barely breathe, but I could do nothing but delicately step out of those shorts as he guided them effortlessly off.

He tossed them to the side, his lips pursing that satisfied smile as his eyes feasted on me. Bare and aching before him.

My breath ratcheted in my lungs, and I threaded my fingers through his golden hair, tensing and impatient as he slowly planted soft kisses along my thighs.

  Too soft.

  Too innocent.

"Hendrix," I groaned, my fingers tightening in his hair as he kissed everywhere but where I needed him. As he toyed with me as if we had all the time in the world.

  And maybe we did.

Maybe, in this moment, we could stretch the length of the day. One unencumbered by roommates or practices or jobs. Just us. Just this...fire.

"Savannah," he said my name, his lips grazing over the center of me. It wrenched a moan from my lips. I felt him smile between my thighs, just as his hands gently nudged my legs wider apart, enough that I had to lean against that arm of the couch for balance.

"Please," I begged as he continued to toy with me. To play with me. And god, we were good at playing together. "Please."

Hendrix glanced up at me, those searing blue eyes locking gazes with mine as my fist tightened in his hair. And I saw nothing but pure, reckless danger in those eyes, a promise of both pleasure and pain and everything in between. And before I could breathe or blink or beg again, he set his mouth on me.

  And I forgot everything.

Forgot everything outside the feel of his tongue sliding between my thighs, teasing my slit from to clit.

Forgot everything outside the heat that pulled low on my core with every expert flick and plunge of his touch.

Hendrix moaned slightly, as if he couldn't get enough of my flavor. Feasting on me, working me up until I was certain I would snap. And then he slid his hand from my thigh to the center of me, plunging two fingers deep inside me, his mouth expertly working my clit until my knees shook. They actually fucking shook. He plucked me like a mastered instrument, working me up, taking me to that sweet, sweet edge to where I could only cry out from the need of it. From the need of him to push me over.

"Hendrix!" My hands tightened in his hair, my head spinning, my heart racing as every inch of my body clenched around him, my thighs tightening as he shifted with his free hand to situate my knee over his shoulder. That shift in position sent me flying. Sent me into the fucking stars I adored so much. Stars that glittered and burned like the blue in Hendrix’s eyes. I shattered and rocked and flew apart around this tongue, his lips, his mouth.

I gasped, trying like hell to catch my breath, trying like hell to get the world to stop spinning even though I never wanted it slow down.

Hendrix shifted on his knees, standing up as he licked his lips, his eyes like liquid blue fire.

And I didn't hesitate, didn't waste two seconds to rid him of his jeans and boxer briefs. They landed in a heap on the floor next to mine, and before he could blink, we switched positions, and I kissed my way down his perfect chest, those delicious V-lines that led to exactly what I wanted.

He was hard as granite when I reached him, and I’d be lying if I said my heart didn't do a little hiccup at the idea of getting him in my mouth.

But again, I was always up for a challenge.

I flipped my gaze up to his and grabbed his hands, guiding them to my hair until he held it back. And that little action alone wrestled a groan from him. Almost a growl, one that had me liquid between my thighs once again.

Releasing his hands, I gripped him in both of mine, marveling at the sheer size of him, at the perfection of his sculpted body. I flicked my tongue over the tip of his cock. Just a little taste to get to know each other. I trembled at the hiss that came from his lips, and then I grinned before I took his entire head into my mouth.

"Shit!" The word ripped from his lips, but I was too busy pumping and sucking him to listen.

Damn, he tasted good. How did he taste this good? Like warmth and salt and every bit Hendrix.

I removed one hand and took him deeper into my mouth, pumping and rocking back and forth faster, in time with my racing heart, simply delighting in devouring this perfect man before me. This untouchable godlike man who I'd somehow gotten lucky enough to get a taste of.

"Fuck," Hendrix hissed again, the low growl rumbling from his chest doing everything to ignite a surge of power in my blood.

  Me.

I made him growl with want. Made his fingers tighten in my hair to the point of pain that sent more shivers of pleasure rippling down my spine.

"Savannah," he growled my name, gently tugging my hair until he’d backed me up enough that he came out of my mouth with a satisfying little popping sound. I glanced up at him, the wild need in his eyes enough to still my breath. "Stand up," he demanded, the primal dominance in his voice doing everything to unravel me.

  So I fucking obeyed.

He grabbed a foil packet from his discarded jeans on the floor before making quick work of the tank top and bra I still had on. He slipped on the condom before those strong hands were firm as he gently grabbed my arms, spun me around, and bent me over the armrest of the couch.

I gasped as he nudged apart my thighs with a strong knee, and before I could even glance over my shoulder, he nudged at my entrance from behind. His fingers bit into my hips, and our gazes met as I glanced behind and up.

I nearly came again at the sight of him standing there, all glorious muscles and blue eyes and golden hair.

He smoothed one hand down my spine as the other gripped my hip and guided the tip of his cock, slick from my mouth, farther between my thighs.

It was my turn to growl at him when he slid in all the way to the hilt.

I threw my head back, bracing my hands on the other side of the couch, sinking back just as he thrust in until we collided over and over again in a fiery and almost desperate connection.

"Fucking perfect. So damn wet. Tight," Hendrix said. "Savannah," he growled, slowing his pace. "Are you all right?" he asked, and the softness in his voice did just as much to undo me as the primal tone he'd used earlier. The perfect combination of caring and commanding wove around my core like licks of flame.

I glanced over my shoulder and said, “Harder."

Hendrix visibly shuddered at my command, but then that cocky grin shaped his lips, and he gripped my hips and sank into the hilt.

I hissed a pleasure-filled moan, relishing the way he filled every single inch of me, my entire body loose and tight at the same time.

"Again," I demanded, and he fucking obliged.

Over and over, Hendrix claimed me, took control of my body, and pushed me up and past every point of no return I thought I had. And just when I couldn't breathe and couldn't think around the sensation sparking beneath my skin, coiling every single muscle in my body, Hendrix slipped his hand around my hip and slid it between my thighs. His fingers rippled over my clit, arching into me as he circled that bundle of nerves over and over again. And then he pressed down with the exact amount of pressure I needed and slammed home at the same time.

I cried out his name, throwing my head back, my eyes closed against the onslaught of stars bursting under my skin.

I clenched around him so hard that he found his own release, but we remained there, rocking back and forth slowly through the aftershocks.

Hendrix leaned over, planting kisses along every inch of my spine, his strong warm body sweat-slicked just like mine.

Slowly, I caught my breath, trying like hell to slow my racing heart.

And I couldn't help but hear it scream…

  Hendrix

Morning light streamed in through Savan
nah's windows and played in the fiery strands of her hair. I'd never been the guy to hang around for a morning after, but I couldn't help myself.

The last two weeks hadn't only been filled with firsts for Savannah, but me, too. She was the first woman I'd ever taken to bed in my home, the first woman I'd ever had to track down because I couldn't get enough, and the first woman I'd ever stared at with pure appreciation at seven o'clock in the morning.

I was the one who demanded we leave our hearts out of this, and yet here I was, clearly tangling mine where it didn't belong.

The sound of a vibrating phone caught my attention, and I lifted my head just long enough to recognize it was Savannah's.

  Go away.

Guess whoever was on the other line didn't recognize that they were stealing a morning I wasn't even supposed to have. One week had turned into two weeks with the kind of ease that should have scared me, but it didn't, simply because it was just that—easy. Everything with Savannah was easy. Except hiding whatever this was from everyone we knew.

  That was fucking impossible.

"Hey, sleepy," I said softly against the shell of her ear.

"Again?" She laughed softly, pressing her ass against my dick. "You're insatiable. Not that I'm complaining."

Since she was going on about three hours of sleep, it was hard to argue. The truth was I couldn't get enough.

"When it comes to you? Absolutely. But you should probably know your phone is ringing." I laughed when she jumped upright, scrambling for her phone.

  "Shh!” she hissed at me.

I pressed my lips together in a tight line.

"Hey, London, how is your road trip?" she asked. "No, of course, you didn't wake me. I was…" She cringed. "Just getting ready to go for a run."

"I have a better workout in mind," I whispered, tugging the sheet free from where she held it clutched near her collarbone. Then I went to work kissing a path down the swell of one peak.

Savannah fumbled the phone, accidentally putting the call on speaker.

"Caz is here,” London snapped, "which you would know if you'd picked up your phone last night!”

I grimaced and left Savannah’s perfect breasts alone.

"Sorry… I was busy," Savannah explained unconvincingly.

"It's okay," London replied. "It's not like I expect you to be at my beck and call, it was just a shock."

"I bet. Is he just visiting?" Savannah asked as the phone slipped out of her fingers again. I would have laughed if it wouldn't have given us away. Good thing I was the wide receiver in this relationship.

  Relationship?

"That's the thing," London said, her words growing shorter. "He signed with the Reapers!"

Savannah’s jaw dropped, and she stopped batting at the covers for her phone. "I'm sorry, did you just say that Caz, as in your oldest brother, Caspian Foster, signed with the NHL team that offered you a job?"

My eyes widened. Caspian Foster was London's brother?

"Exactly! He picked me up at the airport with my realtor, the same one the team had recommended to me. And he thought I was going to be happy about all this!"

  "Wait, he what?"

My phone rang, vibrating on the nightstand, and I immediately rolled to my side to silence it.

Shelly’s name flashed across my screen, and I tossed back the covers, snagging my shorts off the floor, and swiping to answer it as I walked out of Savannah’s bedroom.

“Shell?” I asked, keeping my voice quiet and shutting the door behind me.

“He’s here!” My sister’s voice practically oozed happiness. “He’s seven pounds, nine ounces of perfection, and he’s here!”

I laughed, a grin spreading across my face. “When? How are you feeling?”

“Last night, and we’re both wonderful, nothing to worry about. Sorry, I would have called sooner, but Greg’s parents are all over us.”

“Don’t worry about it. I’d rather you get what sleep you can. How long until they let you out of the hospital?” I was already mentally calculating the travel time.

“Tonight actually. Twenty-four hours. Greg’s already packing up, and Mom is hovering.”

“She usually does.” My mouth tightened in a line. “Why so fast? Shouldn’t you stay for a day or two after having a kid?”

“Eh. You know, insurance. Besides, I’d rather be at home. Want me to send you some pictures?” Her voice pitched upwards, no doubt trying to distract me from the first part.

“You bet your ass! I want pictures. What’s my new nephew’s name?”

  “Hunter Robert,” she whispered.

Robert. “After Dad.” My chest tightened.

“Yeah.” She sniffled, and the sound of a tiny, frustrated grunt filled the silence. “I’m so proud of you, but I wish you were here.”

“For fuck’s sake, Shell. I’m not in Siberia. I’m only three hours away,” I teased her. “Give me an hour, and I’ll be on the highway.”

“Really? I just know you’re busy—”

“Stop. Besides, I have to get my hands on my nephew before your husband turns him into a Panthers fan. I love you, sis.”

She cried while we hung up, and Savannah was off her call by the time I walked back into the bedroom.

  “Everything okay?”

It was an absolutely insane thought…but there it was.

“Want to go to Virginia with me?”

  * * *

“You did what?” My sister’s jaw dropped across the kitchen table the next morning. Her blonde hair was heaped on top of her head in a messy knot, and there were bags under her eyes, but she’d never looked more beautiful to me. More at peace.

“Shh, you’ll wake him up,” I whispered, peering down at the sleeping, blanketed bundle resting against my chest.

“We can’t accept it.” She shook her head, sending a pointed glance to the pile of things I’d picked up at the store last night. “I mean, look at all that.”

“That’s nothing,” I assured her. “The hospital bill was nothing.”

  “Greg…” She sighed. “He’s…”

“Shelly, you’re my only sister. Greg is a great guy, and teachers aren’t paid enough. Just tell him that insurance covered it if he asks.” My hand shifted as Hunter started to squirm. Damn, he was tiny.

“I’m not going to lie to my husband, Hendrix.” She arched a tired eyebrow.

“Then let’s just hope he doesn’t notice.” I grinned as Savannah walked in, already dressed in jeans and a tank top, her hair pulled back and face freshly washed. I’d had no problems sleeping next to her in my childhood bedroom—in my very adult-sized bed, but she’d blushed scarlet the moment I’d told my mom we didn’t need the couch made up.

“Like he was supposed to not notice that you paid my car off when I graduated college?” She tilted her head.

“It was a graduation gift.” I shrugged. “I was a rookie with money to burn, and besides, you should have let me get you that sexy little Corvette.” I would have bought her anything she wanted. “Hell, let’s go get you one now. I bet we could find one that fits a baby seat.”

“I don’t need a Corvette,” she laughed, then turned to Savannah. “He always worries.”

“I can’t help it. We grew up in a one-bedroom apartment where we were never even sure the lights would turn on when we got home from school, or if we’d be able to make the food stamps stretch.” I shook my head and glanced between Savannah and Shell. “I’m never letting anyone in this family worry about where dinner is coming from ever again. Ever. I mean it.” I would die before I let Mom or Shell stress over shit I could fix as easily as writing a check.

“And you know how much I love you for that, but seriously, we’re doing okay.” Her gaze swung to Savannah. “Maybe you can help him ease up a bit on the worries. He even paid off the house after we’d agreed to take over the mortgage payments when we moved in to take care of Mom.”

“Uh, good morning?” Savannah’s eyes widened, glancing between us li
ke we were a tennis match.

“Mom wouldn’t let me buy her a new one!” So much for doing a big red-bow surprise like I’d wanted, but I’d done what I could.

“Because this one works just fine,” Mom said, gently pushing past Savannah in the doorway. “I’m making bacon and eggs. Who’s hungry? Don’t bother answering, Hendrix, I know you are. Savannah? You could use a little bacon. Shelly? You’ll need the calories for Hunter there.” She took everything out of the refrigerator without anyone answering. It wouldn’t have mattered what we said anyway. Mom’s love language was food. “Is Greg up?” She patted the silver streak in her hair back into place and slipped on an apron.

“He’s still sleeping. He was up all night with us,” Shell replied.

Savannah took the seat next to me and smiled at Hunter.

“You should be, too. Sleep when the baby sleeps, honey. Like right now. He seems pretty content with Hendrix. I’ll make your breakfast first, and then you can nap,” Mom started up the bacon.

Shell studied her sleeping son. “Or maybe I could shower and then eat?”

“Go for it,” I urged her. “We’ve got him.”

Shell’s eyebrows knit while she decided, but she finally nodded and slipped out of the kitchen with a promise to be back as quickly as humanly possible.

“Can I help you, Mrs. Malone?” Savannah asked, shifting nervously in her seat. “What?” she whispered at me.

“You’re just cute.” It was almost funny. I’d never so much as seen this woman flinch, and she lived under enough pressure to crush a mountain, yet my boisterous family had her antsy.

“Oh, no thank you, dear.” Mom looked over her shoulder at us with a delighted smile. “I’m just thrilled that Hendrix finally brought a girl home. You’re the first, you know.”

“Am I?” Savannah grinned, locking eyes with me. Her expression softened as she glanced at Hunter, visibly melting with a soft sigh.

“You are,” I said softly. Now that was a look I could get used to. There was a hundred-percent adoration in her gaze.
