Forbidden Love Page 33

by Phillips, Laura

She came home and had a long shower. She even started thinking about the next semester.

Jackie made herself another cup of coffee and went over her schedule and the classes she’d have. She didn’t want to be thinking about it the weekend before they went back in January. She loved being prepared and knowing exactly what was happening when she went back to college in the new year.

Cam had sent her a text in the afternoon and Jackie had suggested that she come over whenever it suited her. Jackie was free all evening, but she didn’t want to sound too desperate. She did her best to play it cool and replied casually. They agreed on seven o’clock.

Jackie glanced down at her watch, hardly believing that it was six o’clock already. The day had flown by. She turned off her laptop and took one last look at her schedule for the next semester. It was actually a pretty light load compared with the first semester. Maybe volunteering to take over the behavioral psychology class was paying off now.

Jackie went to get changed into white wash skinny jeans and a gray sweater. Her coal black hair was down, and she ran a brush through it before putting on a light layer of natural looking makeup.

She padded into the kitchen after taking one last look in the mirror and poured herself a glass of wine.

The doorbell rang just after seven o’clock and Jackie opened the door to see Cam standing on her doorstep holding a bottle of white wine. Her auburn hair was straight, flowing down over her shoulders, a few snow flurries clinging to her locks.

“Hey,” Jackie said with a smile as she stood back to let Cam in.

“Hi… Glad to see you drink white.”

“I drink practically anything,” Jackie said as she closed the door.

Jackie took the bottle from her while Cam took off her coat and scarf. She was wearing dark skinny jeans and a black long-sleeved top that hugged her athletic figure.

“I have a bottle of Pinot Grigio chilling in the fridge. Can I get you glass?”

  “Sure.”

  “Make yourself at home.”

Jackie went into the kitchen and found the bottle that she’d just opened, pouring out a glass for Cam and topping up her own. She noticed her hand shaking slightly. She was nervous and that surprised her as much as it scared her.

They would probably have to have a serious conversation at some point this evening. They needed to know where they stood. It wasn’t fair on either of them to pretend that this wasn’t a big deal.

Jackie found herself thinking throughout the day, ‘What’s a job anyway?’

But really, she’d worked too hard to throw it all away. And for what? Cam was so young. This could all just be lust that would wear off in a few weeks.

Jackie returned to the living room, her bare feet crossing the wooden floors. She’d lit the fire earlier and the living room was already nice and toasty.

“Here you go,” Jackie said, handing Cam her glass and sitting down beside her.

  “Thanks.”

  “So, how’d your meeting go?”

Cam laughed softly. “It was interesting… I mean, the meeting itself was fine… The usual but I had a girl stay after for a few minutes.”

  “She wanted to talk?”

“Yeah. It’s normal for someone to linger if they need to talk about something but this girl… It turns out she’s crazy about her teacher and she thinks it’s mutual.”

  “Ah.”

“Yeah… So, here I am telling this eighteen-year-old girl to stay clear of her teacher because the whole situation is trouble and I’m sitting here doing the exact opposite.”

“I’d like to think that our situation is different…”

  “Is it though?”

Jackie took in a deep breath. She wasn’t expecting that response.

“We don’t know each other really,” Cam continued. “We’ve just acted on this attraction…”

  “You’re having second thoughts.”

Cam sighed. “I just feel like I’m smarter than this… I’ve always tried to live in the moment. I have been spontaneous in so many different ways, so this isn’t new to me. This isn’t out of character for me, but it affects more than just me.”

  “I’m a grown woman…”

“Yes, but have you really thought about the consequences? If we get caught, your career is more than likely over. How can you live with that? How can I live with that?”

“I’ve lived my life cautiously,” Jackie said after she’d taken a drink. “Up until now anyway… I’ve lived in anything but the present moment. I dwelled on my affair with Linda for years. I’ve thought about my career and what I want to achieve in the future, the kind of car I wanted, this house…”

  “We’re very different then.”

“I know but that doesn’t mean that this can’t work,” Jackie said, reaching for her hand.

“I’ve never felt as lost as I do right now,” Cam said, her voice cracking. “I’ve wandered through life not worrying about a thing and all I do is worry now… That I’ve made a mistake, that we’ll get caught, that you’ll end up hating me…”

“Tell me,” Jackie said softly, sensing that there was more to Cam’s emotion than their dilemma.

“My brother, Stephen… He died seven years ago.”

  “Oh my God.”

“In a car accident. I was badly injured…”

Jackie squeezed her hand and waited for her to continue.

“I’ve tried not to take life too seriously since then. When you lose someone that close to you, that suddenly… It changes you. I don’t think I’ve ever really let anyone in…”

“Because you were afraid you might lose them?”

  “Yes.”

“Cam, I don’t know what’s happening here or where this is going to go. I’m just going to say that I’m crazy about you. I was from that start… And I want a chance. I can’t guarantee anything. It’ll have to be a secret for a while of course, which I know isn’t ideal.”

Cam’s eyes were locked onto hers. “You mean that?”

  “Yes.”

  Chapter 27

Cam blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall. Talking about Stephen was always hard, and she usually couldn’t avoid getting emotional but hearing Jackie say those words, she struggled not to let her tears fall.

“If that’s what you want of course,” Jackie added, doubt creeping into her voice.

“Of course, that’s what I want. I know I’m young and there’s a million reasons why this won’t work but I think we at least deserve a shot.”

Cam’s eyes flickered down to Jackie’s lips. She’d wanted to kiss them since she’d got here.

Cam reached out to cup Jackie’s cheek with her free hand, pulling her in closer until their lips met.

Jackie’s lips parted against hers in a slow, emotional kiss. Cam’s thumb caressed her cheek as their lips met again and again.

It looked like they were really going to do this, that they’d give this a shot. Cam couldn’t believe her luck.

Jackie took both of their glasses and left them on the coffee table, breaking their kiss for just a second.

“I’ve been thinking about you all day,” Jackie whispered as her lips captured Cam’s, her tongue sliding across Cam’s and sending a tingling sensation through her body.

Jackie pulled Cam down on top of her, her hands wrapped around Cam, moving up her back as Cam dipped her head to find her lips again.

Jackie’s hands slid underneath Cam’s top, caressing her breast through her bra, her thumb grazing her already hardened nipple.

Jackie shifted underneath her so that Cam was straddling her thigh now instead of her waist. Cam groaned as Jackie’s thigh met her throbbing clit through her jeans.

Jackie lifted Cam’s black long-sleeved top over her head, throwing it to the side before reaching around Cam’s back to unhook her bra.

Cam moved to unbutton her jeans, but Jackie’s hand covered hers, pushing it away, pinning them behind her back with her left
hand.

“Leave them on,” Jackie said in a husky whisper.

  “I don’t think I’ve ever…”

Jackie’s hands moved to cup Cam’s ass, pulling her down against her thigh.

“Let’s just see,” Jackie said as her lips covered Cam’s again, her tongue finding Cam’s in a slow and seductive kiss.

Cam pushed back against Jackie’s thigh, sending a rush of pleasure through her body. Her sex was on fire as her hips rhythmically grinded against Jackie’s leg.

Cam knew she was close. She’d found just the right spot. She loved being in control like this. She could come when she wanted to. She could draw it out and then push herself over the edge.

Jackie’s hand cupped Cam’s breast, rolling her nipple between her fingers as their tongues continued to dance and just when Cam thought she was in control of the situation, her breathing became ragged and she moaned as Jackie sent her over the edge, her fingers pinching Cam’s nipple a little harder while her other hand wrapped around her back, her nails lightly raking across Cam’s skin.

Cam broke their kiss as her hips slowed their rhythm and her orgasm took over her body. She rode out the longest orgasm that she’d ever had, searching for Jackie’s lips and hungrily kissing her, cupping her cheek. Her own were flushed and she could feel a trickle of sweat running down her neck and back.

Cam broke their kiss to meet Jackie’s eyes. She’d never seen Jackie look at her like that, her eyes burning with so much desire.

Cam’s lips tugged into a smile. She did just make me come without even touching me.

Cam pushed herself off Jackie and stood up, reaching for Jackie’s hand and leading her to the master bedroom at the end of the hall.

Cam didn’t say anything as she closed the door behind them and backed Jackie up against the door. She lifted Jackie’s gray sweater over her head, letting it fall to the floor.

She found Jackie’s lips while her fingers unbuttoned Jackie’s jeans and pulled down the zipper, so she could slide her hand inside them.

Jackie’s breath caught in her throat as Cam’s fingertips massaged her through her silky panties. Cam could feel her dampness through the thin material. She was soaking wet and Cam had to restrain herself. She could take her right then and there, but she wanted to draw this out.

Cam continued to move her fingertips in a circular motion, her lips leaving Jackie’s to kiss her neck and down across her clavicle. Jackie’s breath was getting ragged, her hips pushing back against Cam’s touch.

  “Cam, please.”

  “Yes?”

  “Fuck me.”

Cam’s eyes met hers, Jackie’s green eyes darker than normal. “Patience,” Cam whispered with a smirk as she reached behind Jackie and unhooked her white bra, tossing it to the side, her free hand covering Jackie’s full breast.

Cam’s lips covered hers as she withdrew her hand from Jackie’s panties, making her wait even longer. She could feel Jackie shifting her weight as she kicked off her jeans and reached for Cam’s, unbuttoning them and pushing them down her legs.

Cam reached out to lean against the door as she took them off, pushing them away with her foot, before returning her attention to Jackie’s soft, full lips.

Jackie kissed her back with even more intensity. She was drunk with desire, her hands sliding across Cam’s body, over her toned stomach and into her panties.

Cam moaned into her mouth as Jackie’s fingers glided through her folds. She was dripping wet after Jackie had made her come without even touching her.

Cam pushed Jackie’s panties down her legs while Jackie mirrored her movements and they both stepped out of them.

Cam groaned when her fingertips easily slid through Jackie’s sex. She was so wet. Cam couldn’t wait any longer. She plunged two fingers inside of her as her mouth met Jackie’s, parting her lips against Jackie’s, her tongue eagerly searching out Jackie’s.

Jackie gasped, breaking their kiss as Cam’s thrusts sped up, her palm slapping up against Jackie’s swollen clit with every stroke.

Cam moaned when Jackie’s fingers slipped inside of her, two, then three, filling her up and bringing her close to the edge again.

Jackie matched Cam’s pace and soon they were both panting, clinging onto each other as they both came hard, Jackie’s hips bucking against Cam’s hand, riding out her orgasm against her palm and that was enough to finish off Cam.

Hearing Jackie groan into her ear as she clung to her flooded Cam with desire and she came easily, her hips grinding out every last wave of pleasure against Jackie’s hand.

Cam reached out to lean her palm against the door, her legs suddenly weak. Jackie cupped her cheek with her free hand as they both slowly withdrew their fingers.

“Come to bed,” Jackie whispered before covering Cam’s lips with her own.

  Chapter 28

Jackie woke up Sunday morning, her legs tangled in the sheets, her arm draped across Cam who was facing away from her.

Jackie blinked, her eyes reluctant to open, as she tried to figure out what the noise was that had woken her up from such a deep sleep.

She rolled over, seeing the flashing light from her phone. Her alarm was going off, the one that was set to go off every Sunday at 9:15am. Jackie turned it off and stretched her arms above her head.

She met Linda every Sunday for coffee and she hadn’t thought to reschedule this week. Jackie glanced over at Cam when she felt her stir beside her.

Cam’s hair was messy, but it melted Jackie’s heart. She was so beautiful.

“You set an alarm on a Sunday?” Cam asked groggily.

“Yes. I have a coffee date.”

Cam pushed herself up, leaning against the backboard as she swept her hair over one shoulder and tried to tame it, running her hands through her thick locks.

“I should probably get going,” Cam said, swinging her legs out of the bed.

“You can stay if you like, leave whenever you’re ready or wait for me if you want. I’ll be back around eleven.”

“No. I better go. I told Kayla I’d help her out today,” Cam said as she got out of bed and picked up her jeans and panties. She had to go out into the living room to find her bra and top.

Jackie got dressed in a pair of skinny jeans and a navy sweater. She padded into the bathroom to run a brush through her hair and put on some makeup.

She took one last look in the mirror before she found a pair of boots to slip on and headed out into the living room to find Cam.

“Do you have plans for Christmas?” Jackie asked as Cam was putting on her jacket.

  “No… Not really.”

“I don’t either. I mean, I’ll probably stop by my parents’ house, but I don’t stay long.”

  “Where do they live?”

“Philadelphia… Do you want to come over here after I get back in the evening? If you don’t end up doing anything?”

It was still a few days away, but Jackie knew that she wanted to spend the day with Cam. It was probably premature to think that she could spend that much time with Cam, but she knew that when school started again, it wouldn’t be as easy to see each other.

  “Sure.”

Jackie returned Cam’s smile. “We’ll sort out the details later… And I’m sure we’ll see each other before then anyway.”

“I hope so… I don’t think I could stay away for that long,” Cam said with a seductive smile. “Enjoy your coffee date.”

“I will,” Jackie said as she opened the door for Cam and leaned in to kiss her lightly on the lips. “Bye.”

Jackie watched Cam walk out and down the snow-covered driveway to her old black Honda Civic that was parked on the street.

Linda pulled up just as Cam was driving away. Jackie put on her coat and slung her bag over her shoulder, closing the door behind her.

“Hey,” Jackie said as she slid into the passenger seat.

  “Hello… Someone looks happy.”

“Is it that obvious?” Jackie asked with
a smile tugging at her lips.

“You look happier than I’ve seen you in a very long time. But what’s obvious is that you completely ignored by advice…”

“Linda, it was inevitable, and it wasn’t a decision that I made easily.”

“I just hope you don’t regret it.”

“For someone who says that our affair wasn’t a mistake, you sound an awful lot like you regret that it ever happened.”

“Jackie, I’m just looking out for you. Things were different back then too, you know? There’s phones and cameras everywhere now. It’s so easy for you to get caught.”

  “We’ll be careful.”

  “Okay.”

Jackie changed the subject onto the party. She didn’t need to hear Linda’s opinions about Cam and all the reasons why they shouldn’t be together. She already knew all of them.

  Chapter 29

Cam decided not to go home for Christmas. She had enough drama in her life right now. She didn’t need the stress.

Christmas was always hard without Stephen but since Cam told her parents she was gay it was even worse. The tension was unbearable.

She just wished they could put aside all of their problems for one day and sit down like a family and enjoy Christmas together but that never seemed to happen, so she just decided to skip it this year.

Besides, she had better things to be doing. She could spend the evening with Jackie. They’d spent a few nights together during the week. Cam knew they would.

As much as either of them might have wanted to keep some distance to prepare themselves for the next semester, when it wouldn’t be so easy to find time together, they couldn’t stay away from each other.

Jackie had gone to her parents’ house in Philadelphia during the day, but she’d sent Cam a text saying that she’d be home around seven if she wanted to come over and she’d been at Jackie’s for more than an hour now, relaxing and sharing a bottle of wine.

They had their feet up, the fire on, and Jackie was telling her about her parents and what her life had been like growing up as an only child.

Cam didn’t know how they were going to continue this when the semester started in January. She wished that a lazy evening like this could be normal, but she knew that it wouldn’t be that way. They’d be sneaking around. She probably wouldn’t stay over at Jackie’s anymore either.
