Blood Sworn Page 12

by Lauryn Evans

Michael had always been loyal to the Creator. It was his duty, his divine purpose. Yet, he’d abandoned a friend and doomed her to a dishonorable fate, despite her innocence. She had pleaded with him, begged him to believe her, and he’d dismissed it without a second thought.

What kind of leader was he? He was supposed to trust his compatriots. It was his duty to lead and defend them.

  Some protector he was.

Lelahel may have forgiven his misgivings, but Michael would never forgive himself for letting her down.
