Hunt for the Necromancer - Book 1 Page 3

by Wes Havoc

  * * *

I sighed as I looked out in the distance. I should have found a horse or a mule or something to carry me. It seemed I've left the city some fifteen minutes back, and still the road stretched, bordering the forest. The hill was an eternity away.

Wondering if I had any kind of skills that would speed me up, I swiped the menu open, looking for info. A set of four grayed-out orbs indicated I still had to conquer any skill. I closed the menu, looking up at the castle.

As the sun sank in the horizon, I could see the first glimpses of flying creatures rising from the stone walls and descending into the city. My heart rate picked up. Even if I had gained some levels since last night, no demon was all that easy to kill. It seemed they got better as I got better too, and last night I had Brianna by my side. Now I was alone by the border of a dark forest in the middle of the night.

I picked up my pace, watching the forms flying against the light of the stars and the round moon that poked from behind the towers, stretched wings cut against the dark purple sky. I hoped none of them would mind a lone wanderer up the road...

But as I completed the thought, one of the shadows distanced from the main group and pirouetted in my direction. I jogged, but it was inevitable - she would reach me any moment.

I halted as she landed in front of me, distancing her legs and pausing her hands over round hips. She licked her plump bottom lip. "Well, well, what do we have here?" She stepped in my direction as I pulled my sword. "Oh, a knight? Are you the one who's going to try to stop Mistress this time?" She chuckled, her voice a higher pitch than I took as comfortable.

I roared. "You're not disturbing this people any longer. I'm stopping her for real this time."

She opened a large smile. "Are you now? How cute." She gave me an once-over. "I don't know... You don't seem able to battle her and live... Even less making her your ally..." She chuckled again, her breasts bouncing over her cleavage as she stepped around me. I followed her, stepping around, sword ready. "You don't mind if I test you out, do you?"

With that, she lunged at me. But she was not much better than any of her peers from the previous night. I ducked, avoiding a clawed hand to my shoulder and turned, using the opening she left to swing my blade under her arm. I felt the tip slashing through her ribs.

She yelled, toppling to the ground with a hand pressing her side. The gaze she threw me was red with rage. "You damned human!" She bared her teeth, standing up. "You're not disturbing Mistress! None of you deserve the reward of having her as an ally!"

She lunged again and I dodged, my blade swinging in a beautiful, precise diagonal motion against her neck. My spine tingled as her eyes rolled up her head.

  You leveled up. 11 > 12

Sheathing my sword back, I frowned, asking myself what the hell did she mean with the reward of making her lady an ally.

Stepping away from the corpse, I turned back to the road, jogging up to the castle to take down this boss once and for all.

  * * *

I was so angry at myself for not finding a horse or some shit. Luckily, my stamina was alright because if I had to trust the stamina I had in real life... I'd be totally screwed.

The castle towered high up a hill overlooking both the city and the forest around. The road that left town led straight up the hill in a plain path that I climbed easily. Once, it was probably used by carriages, but now grass grew on its sides all the way up until I reached the entrance to the castle itself.

The building was immense, covering the rising moon with one of its crooked, pointy towers. I couldn't stop thinking about Castlevania, but this one seemed to be way less taken care of than Dracula's. Windows were destroyed, one of the towers ravaged. Light spilled from its insides though.

I approached the landing, looking over the battlement to see the city far in the distance. First, I congratulated myself. Who imagined I would've walked all the way here without dying out of breath. Next, my heart weighted - the city was already on fire and I could see the winged forms all the way from here. I hoped the citizens would hold alright.

The door creaked for a moment, catching my eye. It was, as expected, huge - a classical wooden, double door with metal hinges, very medieval. I pressed a hand against it, impressed at the rough texture on my palm, and wondered if it would require some kind of magical word to open it. I shoved against it and it creaked, opening slowly, but without much effort.

I was about to step inside when I heard the yell.

A succubus flew to the castle, batting her wings in the air. I prepared my sword but she was not targeting me - she was actually carrying something towards the side of the castle. I ran back to the battlement, trying to see better in the somber night.

She was carrying a woman, legs thrashing in the air, being held up by her wrists. The victim yelled, a string of curses on the tip of her tongue as she tried to throw her legs up and kick the demoness in an impressive effort.

I'd be damned, but the light caught distinctly a red brownish hair.

I gulped, diving inside as soon as the two entered through a side window. The main hall was brightly lit by candles and it made me blink until I was used to all the light. The long hall had tables and chairs with their legs up, ripped banners, and all sorts of destroyed relics that stood as sole survivors of an invasion. The stained-glassed window behind a throne was destroyed, its shards forgotten over the cold floor. I advanced, watching the side corridors as I studied a manner of approaching the boss.

  "Hello."

I jumped, snapping around. I swallowed twice to put my heart back on its place as I watched the demoness behind me. She laughed out loud.

"Sorry, did I scare you?" Her smile would be sweet if there weren't fangs protruding from under her lips and slitted yellow eyes, paired up with a clear murderous intent as her gaze roamed over me. "I've seen you at our front door as I flew up here. We were wondering when the next hero wannabe would show up..." She purred, taking a step in my direction and pausing, jutting her hip to a side. This one girl had smaller breasts, but they were perky, a pair of nipples standing up at attention as they pressed against the thin cloth of her mini dress. I gulped as I watched her - those demonesses seemed eager to wear the shortest thing they could put their clawed hands on. This one also ended inches below her crotch, and delineated her curves so well it pained me. Her hair was shorter than the other demonesses' I've met, ending in large, dark ringlets over her chest. "I wonder," she purred once more, biting a pointy nail. "Do you think Mistress would mind if I played with you before she kills you? It's been a long, long time since I last fucked humans."

I groaned, my dick growing hard inside my pants. This game was torture. Why did all demonesses have to be so hot and provocative? She giggled, covering her mouth with a hand as she ogled the bulge in my pants.

I held my sword up, reminding myself there was a hostage, probably Brianna, somewhere in the castle, and the city was burning up. Again.

The demoness decided for me. She darted, stretching her clawed hands and swiping the air on the exact place my throat would be if I hadn't jumped back. I took another set of steps back, readying my sword for her next attack. She bared her fangs, brows furrowing as she jumped at me again. But this time I was ready. I swung my sword at her, but I didn't use all my strength and she used her claws to deflect it. I gasped - this had never happened before. Up until this moment, it was me attacking them and them taking longer and longer to die. Even with such a bad swing, I only though she would duck.

She used my shock to her advantage. With a grin, she punched me straight in the gut. Unprepared, I took the full blow, air leaving my lungs as I toppled back. I tried to gasp for air but had to duck mid-action as she used her clawed hand as a weapon once more.

Fuck, she was good! And she was hell-bent on not letting me get to her boss. From a side corridor, I heard a loud yelp, from a clearly female voice. Clenching my teeth, I stared at my enemy and waited. I waited for an opening.

  She smirked. "Looks
like Mistress is already having fun with your friend."

Something clicked inside of me. What kind of man would I be if I let an innocent girl suffer, be tortured, or worse? Even if she was not real, letting her agonize would be a grand statement about what kind of person I was. Video games were places where you could do anything your heart desired, and I was not about to become a person I abhorred.

I pushed forward, swinging my sword as to make my foe step back. She did, frowning, but struck immediately after. I dodged and took my chance.

I've noticed she stretched her arm too far off when she made the swipe motion - her side was completely exposed for a moment as she didn't control the strength she used to attack me. So as soon as I escaped her next attack, I stabbed her straight to the ribs with my blade.

She gasped, widening her eyes as my sword dug deep in her body. Her eyes were pure fury while I pulled the sword back, using her moment of shock to create a distance between us. But she was not this easy to kill - she lunged at me, screaming her head out.

I still had to pierce her torso twice before I noticed her speed dwindle. I gulped, searching for air, grateful the game gave me so much more stamina than I'd ever dreamed of having. We were fighting for a while now and I was mainly ducking and keeping my eyes open for my final shot. I knew she was close to her own end.

The demoness stretched her arm and though I expected her to swipe at me, she closed her hand in a fist and punched me. She grinned as I watched my health points dropping another bit on the bar to the corner of my vision.

"Getting tired, hero?" She teased, but she was as out of breath as I was. Her chest heaved, her scaly wings drooped. I knew that, if there was any blood in the game, she'd be drenched in it.

I smirked right back at her, stepping forward with my sword clutched between my fingers. I wasn't about to give her time to rest. Her face melted in a worried expression as she frowned, stepping back, but I charged on, swiping my sword as hard as I could, a scream escaping from my throat as I attacked in a motion that would clear her head off her shoulders.

Her body fell back with a thud, her chest bouncing with the movement. I sighed deeply, letting my sword arm drop. Numbers hovered above her stomach for a moment and my spine tingled as I appreciated the silence around me.

  You leveled up. 12 > 13

I was stepping back to turn around and go after the final boss when something caught my eye. The succubus' eyes were open, rolled up high inside her head. Her dark hair opened as a fan under her. And her dress rode up her thighs, exposing her crotch. I had never wondered but was surprised to find out they seemingly went commando. Her shaved pussy lips were slightly parted, a swollen pink clit peeking from between her labia. My dick went rock hard in an instant, noticing female demons apparently got aroused when fighting - I could clearly see her juices glistening.

I was surprised I took this long to figure this out. But then again, I wasn't about to become a rapist and a necrophiliac, so I stepped back, focused on finding whoever this Mistress was.

  * * *

I pretty much followed the yelps and whimpers to find the right corridor. As I entered a long hall, a double set of mahogany doors at the end of it, the cries became so clear I was sure they had to be at other side of that door.

Checking my health bar, I decided it would be for the best to gulp that one healing potion I obtained as a reward to one of my quests back in town. Full health, I approached the door, touching it.

For the first time, the game interrupted me - golden letters appeared out of thin air in the middle of my vision.

  Would you like to save?

I blinked at it. I haven't noticed a saving system up until now - I thought it was automatic. Shrugging, I selected the button that allowed it then went on to push the door open.

This room was smaller than the previous ones but almost completely empty, apart from the two women in the back. The yowls came indeed from Brianna, her defined arms tied together in front of her, forcing her delicious chest up. Her face was scrunched up in pain as her eyes snapped at me. A rope was tied around her neck, then up a beam in the ceiling and back down to the hands of possibly the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen.

  Or demoness. Succubus. Whatever.

Bright red eyes batted long eyelashes at me, so long I was sure they reached her high brows. Plump lips smiled at me as I approached, and she released the rope a bit, letting Brianna's feet rest on the floor. Her raven-black wings stretched and reflecting the torchlight as she turned her perfect body in my direction.

Her enormous tits were barely covered by a tiny bikini top. They bounced naturally though they clearly defined any laws of physics. I never appreciated a video game more than this.

Her white hair was braided, falling between her breasts as she paused a nimble hand over it. "Hello," she started, sliding her hand down the braid, over a breast and resting it over her hip, an inch above the excuse of leather shorts she wore. They were so small that they more resembled panties. Thigh high fuck-me boots completed her look as she slid her eyes from me to Brianna. "Did you come to join our little party? I'm surely having so much fun," her husky, sweet voice was the perfect description of sex. She smirked wickedly, reaching for a whip over the table.

Some moments ago, I was curious about whatever reward I'd get by winning this fight. Now, I could only hope they comprised me, Mistress Succubus and that whip.

  4

  Defeat Astra.

The message took form on the lower left of my vision. If I stared forward, it would become almost see-through. If I re-focused on the phrase, it became bright white. I clutched my sword as I ignored the message. It was clear enough what I had to do now.

I lifted my blade in a defensive stance. If the previous girl was hard, the final boss couldn't get any easier, even if I had just gained a level.

The whip lay uncoiled by her feet as she cocked her head to study me, curious eyes as if I was an interesting bug that just entered through her door. I slid a glance to Brianna, whose eyes were as wide as sauce pans as she kept her chin up, avoiding the knot. She licked her lips, gasping.

"Be careful! Make her our ally, Aaron!"

The demon laughed, throwing her head back, her chest swaying in a mesmerizing way with the motion. "How lovely. You? You're gonna beat me and make me your ally?" She giggled, cocking an eyebrow as I walked closer. "I'd love to see that," her voice turned into a long moan, stretching the last syllable and catching me by surprise.

And the surprise was all she needed. She rose the whip, striking it against the stone floor inches from where my foot was. I jumped out of the way in the last moment, hearing her laughter echoing through the empty space.

She turned to Brianna, giving me full view of her bubble ass, the skimpy shorts not hiding in the least the round curve. She pulled the rope as she stepped forward, making Brianna stand on the tips of her toes, then tied her end of the rope around a ceiling beam nearby. Brianna sucked air in as Astra approached her face, a hand cupping her jaw as she sticked out a red tongue to lick the side of the warrior's lips.

"Don't go anywhere," she sang, her hand sliding down over one of Brianna's tits and pinching the nipple there slightly. Brianna grunted, her face reddening violently.

My dick sprang into attention without my acknowledgment. It seemed as long as one of these demons was around, my cock never came to a complete rest. Astra turned to me, her white hair catching the light as she dragged her whip behind her. She smirked once more.

I breathed in and out, frowning at her as I rose my sword and attacked.

She was a boss alright. There were little openings for me to use and, even with all the stamina available, I was still out of breath. The bastard kept me on my feet, and even if I managed to hit her, I couldn't just stop and rest.

That fucking whip was the worst. I felt like an animal and she tried to hit me with it. It hurt my ego more than myself.

We danced for some time. The worst part was finding a way to approach he
r without getting hit by the whip. Several times I tried to hit her and she was too fast for me to dodge. So I had to accept getting hit here and there so I could hit her back.

  The price was high.

My health points were dangerously low as I swung the sword one last time against her throat. She gasped, her hand reaching out for me but she did not take a step. A check mark blinked up beside the Defeat Astra message moments before it disappeared, numbers glowing over the demoness as I leveled up not once, but twice. She dropped to her knees a moment later. Astra gulped for air as I did the same, walking around her with sword still clutched hard. I approached Brianna, cutting the rope and setting her free. She heaved, touching her neck as she coughed twice.

I helped her undo the knots around her wrists but her face was not near as proud and victorious as I expected. "You alright?" I tried.

She stretched a small smile. "Yes, thanks. I just wished we could've made her our ally. Next year, she'll definitely be back."

I let the ropes that tied her wrists fall to the ground as I frowned at her. "What do you mean? I defeated her." In a second, the sound of flapping wings overtook the room.

I turned in time to catch Astra flying out the side window. A curse escaped my lips as I ran to it, leaning against it to watch her. She soared above the trees, turning to the right and flying into the night. I punched the windowsill in frustration.

I couldn't understand. The quest was done. I got my experience points and leveled up. How else was I supposed to make her an ally? How else was I supposed to be a Completionist?

I gritted my teeth, feeling Brianna approaching me. She didn't touch me though. She just stood there, her heat radiating inches from me. "How are your health points?"
