He laughed again. “You’ve scared me now.” He walked over and took the champagne bottle out of her hands and set it on the table next to the bed. Then he reached down and put his big hands on her hips and pulled her up to her feet. She rose up like she thought he was going to kiss her, but instead he spun her around so that her back was against him. She was startled and let out a little cry but when he leaned down and put his lips against her neck right below her ear he felt her shudder into him. He brushed them up along her earlobe and then back down to her neck. She arched her neck back so that her head was pressed into his shoulder and he kissed and sucked across the front of her throat and down to her collarbone. He used one hand to push her shirt off her shoulder and put his lips there and then he said, “Hey, you’re not wearing a bra.”
She giggled. “I forgot to take clean underwear with me.”
“So you’ve been without a bra and panties this whole time?”
“Mm-hmm.”
“Damn.” He put his hands back on her hips again, this time running them up slowly underneath her shirt, lifting it as he went, until he made his way up to those full, firm breasts. He covered them with his hands and squeezed, hard. She squeaked, and he said, “Too hard?”
“Did you see me tonight, motherfucker? I’m a tough bitch. Give them a real squeeze.” He was laughing, but he squeezed them harder. She wiggled her ass against his hardening cock and said:
“Yeah, that’s more like it. Enough of this treating me like a delicate female bullshit.”
Jace squeezed them again, even harder, and that time she gasped. Then he took her nipples between his fingers and began to pinch and pull on them, making her moan. He finally pulled the shirt off out of his way and leaned down and took a piece of the flesh on her neck between his teeth. He nibbled and sucked at it while rolling her nipples tightly between his fingers. She was sliding down, like her knees were weak and she was having a hard time holding herself up on them. He let his hands slide back down to her waist and pushed her forward so she fell toward the bed. She put her hands out and caught herself and while she was in that position, he grabbed the top of her sweatpants and ripped them down off her body. She gasped again when he slid his hand between her legs, finding her already wet pussy with his fingers and letting them explore her folds. With the other hand, he played with the round cheeks of her ass, squeezing and smacking them lightly. Beck’s breathing was getting ragged and she was rocking back and forth against his hand, masturbating herself on him.
“Fuck me, Jace. Put that big cock inside of me.”
“Huh-uh,” he said, “not yet.” He pulled his hand out of her pussy and dropped down to his knees. He pulled off her shoes and took her pants off her ankles and then pushed her legs apart. God, she looked fine like that. It was one of those moments a guy wished he had a picture of...but then again, it was a picture he knew his mind would never forget. He held her cheeks apart and put his face up against her fragrant pussy. He took a second just to breathe her in and then he attacked it with his tongue. He licked her wildly, sucking on her clit and scraping against it with his teeth. Beck was lying flat against the bed now, pressing back against his face as hard as she could and making the hottest sounds. He slid one hand underneath her between the bed and her body and took hold of one of her breasts again. While he brought her to orgasm with his mouth, he pinched and squeezed her breast. She let out a loud cry when she came and proudly, Jace hoped that everyone on the second floor heard her and knew it was him making her feel that good. Once she finished with her orgasm he stood up, pushed down his pants, and slid inside of her. She groaned and pushed back up onto her hands, pushing her hips backwards so that he filled her all the way up. Jace gripped her hips and began to fuck her hard and fast. He reached around and found her clit with his fingers and while he drilled into her, striking bottom each time, he pinched and rolled her clit between his fingers. Beck was gasping and moaning and moving her hips in time with his. When he was inside of her it was as close to heaven as he’d ever been. He was a typical man, he’d always loved sex and had taken it wherever he could get it, but with Beck it was different. It was like literally plugging in and recharging his life.
Beck came again with another, even louder cry. The warm, wet feel of it rushing across the shaft of his throbbing cock pushed him over the edge. He reached up and grabbed onto those braids that were still on her head. He held onto them and said, “You look fucking sexy in braids. You look fucking sexy in everything, and nothing. You’re the sexiest fucking woman in the world, Rebekah....” And then it just came out—he hadn’t meant to say it but as he exploded inside of her sweet, tight pussy, the words leaked out before he could catch them. “I love you. I’m so fucking in love with you.”
He grunted as he finished coming inside of her and the second he started to come down from his high was the second that he began to regret letting the words slip out. Beck wiggled out from under him and rolled over so that she was looking up at his face. He was on the verge of telling her he was sorry, maybe even lying and saying he didn’t mean it. But Beck reached up and took his face between her hands and with a soft, sweet look in her blue eyes she said, “I’m fucking in love with you too.” Jace realized at that moment that he’d never really understood what being happy was. All of his life he’d just been going through the motions. He didn’t know what was going to happen the next day, or the day after that, but he did know that he wanted whatever it was to happen with her.
Beck sat in the office the next morning waiting for Wolf. Jace was still asleep when she snuck out. She’d thought about waking him up and making love to him again before she went downstairs but talked herself out of it. He was smiling while he slept, probably in the midst of a dream. She kissed him lightly on the lips and reluctantly left him there. After what they said to each other the night before she had a thousand thoughts rolling through her head...and most of them couldn’t be answered until after she talked to Wolf.
“Hey, you’re up early,” Wolf said as he walked in. “I figured you’d want to sleep in today.”
She smiled. “I got a little drunk last night.”
He chuckled. “Yeah, you did. You’re one of those honest drunks. I thought you were direct before, but I hadn’t seen nothin’ yet. You went around that room and pretty much told everyone what you thought of them.”
“Did I piss anyone off too much?”
Still smiling he said, “Nah, they’ve all heard worse.” He sat down and when he didn’t say anything else right away she said:
“So...?”
“So, you passed all your tests and you want to know if I’m going to keep my promise to you and let you prospect, right?”
“Yeah...I know that most of your guys...”
“It doesn’t matter. I gave them the option to just vote this down right off the bat. They chose this because they thought for sure you would fail, and you didn’t. So, the choice is all up to me now. You worked harder for this than any prospect I’ve ever seen, and if you still want to be a Westside Skull, all I’ve got to say is welcome.”
Beck felt her smile grow so wide that it actually hurt her face, but she couldn’t stop it. She had a hundred things going through her head at once and she couldn’t stop them either. “Thank you,” she said. “I wish I could tell you what this means to me, Wolf, to have someone accept me for who I am and what I can do and not judge me based on whether or not I have a dick between my legs.”
“Well I don’t know about a dick, but I suspect that you have bigger balls than a lot of guys I know.”
She smiled again and stood up. “So do you. You know, Dax Marshall told me I should bow out. He said that I’d be putting you in a horrible position if I went through with this. I’m sure he told you the same thing.”
“That he did.”
“But you’re doing it anyway. You’re going to catch hell in thirty different directions because you’re a good man. I’ve heard a lot of shit about Coyote since I’ve been here, and he
was always the first one to admit that he was far from perfect. But I always believed he had a real goodness in him, and I see it in you. I think this club is lucky to have you and I think I’m lucky that I got the chance to meet you. I think I’m a better person just for the month I’ve spent here and if I could stay here forever without fucking you all up, I would.”
Wolf frowned. “I don’t understand.”
“I’m saying thank you for everything, especially for keeping your word. But, believe it or not, my intention was never to cause you any grief. I had to prove that this could be done, and I feel like I did. As a matter of fact, I’m sure of it. I’m sure if you put me to prospecting today that you’d make it a priority to make sure the guys all treated me with respect, and I think for the ones that just couldn’t handle being in a club with a woman, you’d let them walk away. I think that your whole way of life would change because of me and because you made a promise to me and gave me a chance, you would just roll with the punches. Knowing all of that is good enough, Wolf. I don’t want to disrupt your life any further. Thank you, though, especially for restoring my faith in men.”

Beck and Jace passed each other on the stairs. He’d woken up alone and he’d been a little worried about what he said the night before, until he saw her eyes light up when she looked at him. “Good morning.”
“Hey there, good morning. I missed you when I woke up.”
“I’m sorry. I had to talk to Wolf.”
“How’d that go?”
“Great,” she said with a smile. “Come back up and I’ll tell you about it.”
“I can’t wait to hear, but Wolf wanted to talk to me this morning too. Is it okay if I catch him real quick? I’m a little curious about what he wants to talk about. Plus, I need to get on the road today.”
“Oh...you’re leaving today?”
“Yeah. I’ve been gone a lot longer than I planned. I need to see Rosie and...” She reached up and put her fingers on his lips.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to explain. Go talk to Wolf and I’ll be waiting for you, okay?”
“Okay. But about what I said last night...”
“Oh, don’t you dare try and take that back. I’ll kick your ass right down these stairs right now.”
He smiled and brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. “I’m not taking it back...ever. I just guess we need to talk about what are plans are from here.”
She nodded. “We do. Go see Wolf and we will, okay?”
“Okay,” he said, again. “Hey, Beck...”
“Hey what?”
“I love you.”
“You’re such a girl.” He laughed and she did too and then right there in the stairwell where anyone could have seen them, she kissed him. It was a sweet, soft, passionate kiss and when she broke it she said, “I love you too...but you’re still a big girl.”
He chuckled. “I don’t care. As long as you love me.” He watched her go up the stairs and he went down, smiling. He was still smiling when he got to Wolf’s office.
“Wow, all these years I’ve known you and I’ve never seen anything make you smile like that.”
“Sorry, Boss.”
Wolf laughed. “You don’t have to apologize for being happy, Jace. Sit down, maybe I can make you happier.” Jace was even more curious then. He sat and waited for Wolf to go on. “There’s been a lot going on that I haven’t filled the club in about. I’m honestly not sure how much I’m going to share when the time comes. But there’s something I need to ask you and depending on your answer, there might be a lot I have to share with you.” Jace cocked an eyebrow and wondered if Wolf had been doing a little early morning drinking. “Do you like living in Connecticut?”
“It’s alright,” he said. “It’s home.”
“What if it wasn’t? I mean, if you were to move somewhere else, would you be able to move your sister to another facility?”
“I could, if I needed to, yes. Are you asking me to move, Boss?”
“Maybe. I’m asking you first if you’d like to trade in that nomad patch for a permanent one.”
“Here?”
“Not exactly. For all those reasons I’ll talk to you about if you accept my offer, Dax and I have decided to start a new chapter of the club. Manson did some research and found a nice shop on twenty acres in Phoenix...”
“Arizona?”
Wolf bit back a smile and said, “Yeah, the one in Arizona.”
“Sorry, Boss. I’m just wondering why you’d pick Phoenix. Is it because that’s where Beck is from?”
Wolf shook his head. “No. We looked at several other places between here and Boston and the property in Phoenix just jumped out at us as the best deal and space for what we’re looking for. See, we thought if you accepted the presidency, you’d need a space to move your bike shop as well because...”
“Excuse me...I’m sorry, did you say presidency?”
“I did. We’d like you to start this new chapter up for us. You’d be the president and you would be free to recruit whoever you wanted and put them in whatever positions you like...well, all except one. We have one guy who we need to get out of California and we think he’d be an asset to the new club. Of course, as president if he didn’t work out you’d be in a position to do whatever you needed to do.”
Jace shook his head slightly. “I’m sorry. I keep hearing you say president, but my head is having a hard time processing that. Why me, Boss?”
“Dax and I both made a list of men that we would trust enough and who we thought could handle this kind of responsibility and pressure. It was a short list and your name was the only one that made both of them. I don’t know a man more loyal to this club than you, Jace, and I’d like to see you play a lot bigger role in it than you do as a nomad.”
“I’m flattered,” Jace said. “I mean, flattered isn’t even the right word...honored maybe. In shock a little bit too.”
“Understandable. There’s one more thing. We’re going to need an answer pretty quickly. I’m sorry that I can’t give you as much time as you might want to take to think this over but I’m going to just have to ask you to trust me for now when I tell you that time is a big factor here.”
“Okay...um, I’ll need to make a couple of phone calls about Rosie. The place she stays has another house in Santa Fe, which is what...six or seven hours from Phoenix? I guess that wouldn’t be bad, if they had a spot. There’s one other person I’ll need to talk to first—can I have until the end of the day?”
“Of course. Just call me when you’re ready to talk. I’m going to try to spend today with my old lady. I’ve barely seen her lately. If you take this job, Jace, just keep that in mind...always make your old lady a priority.”
Jace chuckled sadly. He wasn’t sure how he’d make Beck his old lady before when he was a nomad who lived in Connecticut and she a prospect in California. At least Phoenix was closer, but if he was the president of that club, he wouldn’t be able to just take off whenever he wanted to. He might have to go months in between seeing her...and that was no way to have a relationship. At least he didn’t think so. He’d never really been in a relationship, but he was sure he’d want to see her more than that. “Well, Boss, if I figure out how to get me an old lady, believe me, I’ll do that.” Jace stood and held out his hand to Wolf. Wolf took it and as they shook Jace said, “I wish I was better with words, but thank you again.”
Wolf smiled and said, “Dax and I sort of inherited our positions. Not that the club didn’t have a choice about voting us in, but it was kind of an unspoken rule the whole time we were both growing up. But you earned this, Jace. You deserve it and I believe you’ll do great things with it.” Jace wasn’t sure about all that. As a matter of fact, he wasn’t sure about any of it. He needed to talk to Beck because until he knew for sure where she wanted to go from there, he couldn’t make any life-changing decisions.
He left Wolf and found Beck waiting for him when he got back up to her room. She was still
beaming and he was so happy for her that he realized at that second that he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t take that job and not be able to just get on his bike and come see her. He knew he would be so miserable without her that being effective in such an important position would be impossible.
“So, what did Wolf want with you?”
“It doesn’t really matter,” he said. “Between his office and here, I decided that I have to say no.”
She patted the bed next to her and he went over and sat down. “Why?”
He looked at her for a long time and wondered if she’d think he was being clingy if he told her the truth. Finally he said, “I’m just not sure it’s the best fit for me.”
“Oh...so you’re still heading home today?”
He sighed and took her hand. “I hate like hell to leave you, but yeah, baby. I need to get back. I should be able to get away again soon, at least within the next month or so.”
“I don’t want to go a month without seeing you.” Jace liked the sound of that but at the same time it made his chest hurt. He could work on moving his sister out, and maybe even finding a place for his shop in New Mexico. That would be closer, at least. It would take some time, though, and he wondered if she’d be willing to wait.
“I don’t want to go a month without seeing you either. But...”
“Good, then it’s settled. I’ll go with you.”
Jace thought he heard her wrong. Surely she wasn’t offering to follow him three thousand miles across the US when she’d just been given her dream job. “What was that again?”
“I said I’ll go with you, unless you don’t want me to.”
“I’d have to be completely insane to not want you to. But what about your prospect position and getting patched in and...”
“I turned it down.”
“What?” Jace knew he was looking at her like she was crazy, but that was all she’d worked for since she got there, all she talked about, all she wanted.
“Wolf was amazing to let me even try. But I don’t want to bring the kind of shit down on him that my taking the position will ultimately do. Besides, there’s something I want even more.”
