Troy snorted. “Bullshit! I wanted you from the second I saw you. Those damn eyes caught me and hooked me.”

“What about my dick?” Sawyer raised a brow.

“Can we not?” Joe sighed in exasperation.

Troy and Sawyer fell into a fit of laughter, as did the rest of them. Chaz wiped at his eyes and studied all the men around him. It was hard at times to believe that they were all capable of transforming into wolves. Beautiful wolves — but wolves nonetheless.

Over the few months he’d been introduced to all the teams, it still baffled him how people couldn’t know the supernatural world was real.

“You are an exceptional man, Chaz Savage,” Archer said softly. “It is not often you find someone who is true to his heart. You loved Lev before he became the beast, and you love him now.”

“I’ll always love him,” Chaz admitted. “I didn’t understand at first why he left, the decisions he made, but I understand it now. Chance Christianson helped me with that.”

“Ah, the whammy.” Sawyer nodded. “He did it to Nikolai Markov and Colin Greystone, too. I have to wonder what that’s like for him, to feel all the emotions from both people. Must be draining.” Sawyer sipped his beer. “I know he’s teaching Loki Kirkberry to use his abilities to the fullest.”

“Loki is the little guy, right?” Chaz asked.

“Yes, and after the abuse he went through with his ex-boyfriend, he’s scared of just about everyone. If you’re taller than him and bigger — which is most of us —, he shrinks you,” Sawyer chuckled.

“What did they do with the shrunken bad guys?” Lev inquired.

“Killian and Lucian are taking care of them.” Archer smiled broadly. “James Jacobs is a very wise man and he is using them to his advantage.”

“Well, as long as Chaz is safe, I’ll do whatever James asks of me.” Lev wrapped Chaz’s arms around him tightly.

“We will protect Chaz with our last breath, Lev. You have our word.” Archer bowed his head, as did the other men around the fire pit.

“Thank you. I can’t remember the last time I felt that I truly belonged somewhere. You all have welcomed me in, along with Dane and Dasan. We’re grateful.”

“We are all family, Lev,” Archer said.

“So, Dakota.” Chaz turned his attention to the smaller wolf. “You said Sam hit you with a truck?”

“Yes, I was kicked out of my pack by Carson Drake, whom we all thought was the alpha at the time. He’d caught Taylor, his son, and me having sex. I was out and on my own and had wandered a bit too far from my area when I ran into hunters. Now I’m pretty sure they were rogue wolves made by Pierce Barnes.”

“The guy who Chance dated, right?” Chaz clarified.

“Yes, seems you’ve gotten a lot of information in a small amount of time.” Dakota grinned. “Anyway, so I’m running for my life and then bam! Sam hits me with his truck. He takes me in and heals me up. I didn’t know it at the time, but as my mate, Sam triggered my Maccon line and my powers began to take form. Carson was sure I didn’t have the line since I didn’t get any more powerful or bigger — I was still the omega. Meeting Sam changed all that.”

“Then Carson came to collect me, and well, the Queets pack fought to keep me.” Dakota smiled up at his husband. “I’ve been here ever since.”

“So, John’s sons married the Drake brothers, right?” Chaz asked.

“Yes, Grayson and Xander, as it turned out, were mated to Jagger and Taylor. We ended up bonding with them and they went against their father to help me. That was the night we found out that Wayne was the alpha of the created ones. Since then, he’s bitten everyone in the packs to give them the full powers and protection of the line.”

“So, being bitten by Wayne gives you what? Extra strength? I mean, I’ve seen Cole and Ross in wolf form as well as Lev, but Wayne?” Chaz whistled softly. “I have never seen a wolf that big.”

“You should see Wayne’s mate, Conner, when he’s mad,” Sam snickered.

“Have you thought about being a werewolf, Chaz?” Nadine asked curiously.

“All the time.” Chaz caressed Lev’s face.

“Well, you could always go the immortality route, like Nikolai, Colin and James.” Joe winked. “Nadine and I are going to discuss it with Aidan.”

Sam’s head whipped around. “You mean it, Dad?”

Joe nodded. “Your mother and I, although we’re not too keen on living forever — we can’t miss all the things to come and we know this has been plaguing you.”

Chaz smiled as Sam rose from his chair and crossed the space to his parents.

“Thank you, so much,” Sam whispered brokenly.

“Well.” Nadine stood and stretched out her back. “I say we call it a night. I’ll be up early cooking for you all.” Nadine smiled and put up a hand as all the men balked. “Shush! I love cooking for my boys. Now go to bed!”

  “Yes, ma’am!”

A drill sergeant couldn’t have done it any better than Nadine.

  Chapter Nine

The fire was roaring in the fireplace as Lev stood on the back deck watching the full moon and the waves crashing into the rocks below. The view from Troy Bishop’s house was truly magnificent. They’d had a nice dinner with Sam, Dakota, Joe and Nadine and then a talk around the fire. Now they were back in the house and Chaz had gone to take a shower.

Lev sighed, thinking deeply about making love again with Chaz. It had been so long. In the six years the men had been apart, no man had ever come close to matching up to Chaz. Lev had saved himself since, on the off chance that one day he would be with Chaz again.

  That day was here.

Lev shivered at the thought of Chaz’s mouth on his, his hands stroking his skin — making love.

Strong hands wrapped around his waist and Lev leaned back into a huge warm chest. A current ran the length of Lev’s back. He shivered in Chaz’s arms and groaned softly as Chaz’s lips softly kissed his neck.

“Are you okay?” Chaz nuzzled Lev’s ear.

“Yes, I’m just nervous I think.”

Chaz turned him around and framed his face with his large hands.

“It’s you and me, Lev. We were meant to be.”

Lev closed his eyes just as Chaz’s lips met his. The softness of the touch made him tremble with need. Chaz’s hands ran the length of his back and into his hair.

“I’ve missed your mouth,” he breathed against Lev’s lips. “You’re so open, so giving to me.”

“I want all of you.” Lev touched Chaz’s chest with his fingertips, mapping out the ridges and planes of his muscles.

Lev wrapped his arms around Chaz’s neck.

  “Make love to me.”

It was as if no time had passed between them. Chaz was always tender with his touches and kisses; it almost drove Lev insane. Chaz took his time, licking every inch of Lev’s body, making a point to dip into the crease of his groin and nuzzle him. Wet heat encased his cock and Lev’s back arched as Chaz sucked him down to the root.

“Ohhh!” Lev gripped the sheets, white knuckling them as Chaz played with his sac, rubbing and rolling the orbs in his fingers.

“Jesus, Chaz…” Lev breathed. Chaz continued his assault, licking, nipping and sucking on his asshole, probing with his tongue and fingering Lev at the same time. His hands fumbled for the lube as Chaz wiggled his tongue inside the tight confines of Lev’s ass.

“Oh fuck,” Lev managed to choke out.

“That’s next.” Chaz waggled his brows.

Chaz took his time, licking a path up Lev’s spine and blowing softly all the way back down to the cleft of his ass. Nuzzling Lev’s cheeks, he gripped one and bit down softly. Lev gasped and a low moan followed seconds later. Chaz smiled, nibbling on the other cheek as Lev came apart under him.

God how he’d missed Lev’s body. It was as if it had been made for him alone.

As a werewolf, Lev couldn’t catch anything — and Chaz had every intention of fucking him bare
back. Lev’s body trembled under him as Chaz lubed up his dick and poised it at Lev’s opening. The smaller man’s eyes were wide, his breaths puffing out in gasps.

  “Ready?” Chaz whispered.

  “Oh, yes.”

Chaz slipped inside and groaned as Lev’s body clamped down. He slid in an inch at a time, Lev’s body massaging his cock with delicious heat and friction.

Damn, he wasn’t going to last long.

“Oh fuck,” Lev panted. “So full, so fucking good!”

He wrapped his legs around Chaz’s waist and pushed him in further. The pressure-pain was all consuming. He wanted more and he wanted it deeper, harder and faster. Wrapping his arms around Chaz’s neck, he brought the bigger man to his lips and kissed him slowly.

Chaz began to move inside him, slowly at first, and then with more power. Lev’s mouth opened wide as Chaz buried himself to the hilt, slamming into his prostate.

  “Oh shit!” Lev wailed.

Chaz’s grunts and groans were like music to his ears. They rocked together, Lev slamming Chaz into him repeatedly. He couldn’t get enough — and he wanted it harder. Chaz lifted him up, settled Lev in his lap and leaned back on his hands, pumping his hips into Lev’s body. Lev bounced and stroked his leaking cock as they held eye contact, Chaz slamming upward as Lev came down on him.

“Want to feel you,” Lev groaned as Chaz hit him hard on his next thrust. “Want to feel you for weeks!”

Then he was gone. Lev came almost screaming, as Chaz lifted him by his hips and slammed him down on his cock. The bomb went off and streams of ejaculate spurted from his cock, painting Chaz’s torso. Chaz shuddered, and then gripped Lev’s hips tightly as he came.

Lev leaned his head back with a smile as Chaz’s seed rushed inside him. He’d never felt so close to him as he did right that moment.

Lev fell forward and Chaz immediately enclosed him in the safety of his arms. He sighed in the firefighter’s neck, leaving soft kisses along the raging pulse in his throat.

“Damn, Chaz. That was…oh God, I missed you so much!” Lev tightened his arms around Chaz.

Chaz took deeps breaths and tried to control his emotions. After Lev, he’d never been with anyone else sexually — because he loved Lev. There was no one else for him. He squeezed Lev closer to him, kissing his shoulder.

“I missed you, too. So damned much, Lev.”

“I want to do that again.” Lev chuckled in his neck.

“Yeah?” Chaz smiled, nuzzling Lev’s hair. Damn, he still smelled so good.

  “Oh, yeah.”

  ***

Lev awoke to the sound of voices, which seemed to be coming from everywhere. He rolled out of bed carefully and stood by the window, tilting his head to the side.

“What is it?” Chaz asked, sitting up in bed.

“I think the Quinton boys are here.” Lev winked at Chaz. “With their husbands.”

“Ah, so Preston, Jagger and Taylor.”

“You’re getting good at that.” Lev smiled, making his way back into bed. Chaz pulled him into his arms immediately and Lev sank into his warmth.

“Well, when we get too many names I’ll have to buy a notebook,” Chaz chuckled.

“We should get that soon, then.”

“Is it weird for you?” Chaz asked.

“It used to be. But I spent so much time alone, it’s nice to be part of such a big extended family.”

“I haven’t spent a lot of time with the Drake brothers. I know they live in Alaska with Xander and Grayson, right?”

“Yes, they have an architectural firm in Anchorage.” Lev tilted his head. “It sounds like they’re playing football.”

“Is that right?” Chaz cocked a brow.

“You want to go, don’t you?” Lev grinned.

  “That depends.”

  “On what?”

“Are you sore?” Chaz grinned lasciviously.

“No. One downside of werewolf healing — after a fabulous fuck, you don’t feel it for days like you want to.” Lev smiled and rolled to his back and spread his legs.

“Up for another round then?” Chaz leaned into Lev’s lips and licked the bottom one.

“Oh, I’m up for at least two.” Lev nipped at Chaz’s tongue.

  “Well then …”

An hour later, they were on their way back to Nadine and Joe’s. The football game was still going on. Lev smiled as he spotted Wyatt Quinton-Dalton. He played on the college team and right now, he was cocking his arm, getting ready to throw the ball to his brother. Wyatt spotted them and changed the direction of his throw.

The ball sailed through the air and Chaz caught it one-handed.

“Damn!” Wyatt exclaimed. “You are awesome, Chaz!”

“Well, they did pay me the big bucks,” Chaz winked.

  “Do you miss it?”

Chaz turned to see another dark-haired, green-eyed man smiling at him. “Xander?”

“Has it been that long?” Xander laughed, shaking Chaz’s hand.

“Well, I see you guys every now and then, but it’s been awhile. You look happy.”

“Well,” Xander flushed. “It’s because of my husband.”

“Wanna play, Chaz?” Wyatt wiggled his brows.

“Sure!” Chaz laughed as all the men scrambled to call him for their team. “I’ll play a few on one, and then switch. Good?”

  “Awesome!” Wyatt pumped his fist.

Lev sat down on the front steps of Joe and Nadine’s porch and smiled as he watched Chaz play with the guys. It was obvious he missed the game, and Lev couldn’t help but think he’d caused Chaz to retire early. The man had quite a few years left in him to play.

  “You feel guilty, don’t you?”

Lev turned to see Dakota smiling at him sadly.

“Yeah, I do. I know he could have played for a lot longer. My leaving him caused him to retire way before he should have.”

“Well, I’m sure they’d love to have him back if he ever chose to do so. Everyone talks about how Chaz made that team what it is.”

Lev sighed, clasping his hands together. “I fucked up so much, Dakota. I want to be there for him now.”

“You will be. And you did what you thought you had to do.” Dakota smiled as Kane wandered over to them, crawling into his lap. Dakota smoothed his son’s coat and kissed his nose.

“He’s a fierce one.” Lev grinned down at the pup in Dakota’s lap.

“Yes, he is. But he’s loving, too. You should see him with Matty.”

At the mention of Matty, Kane’s ears perked and he sat up, wagging his tail. Dakota smiled and cupped his son’s face. “He’ll be back soon, Kane. I promise.”

  “He misses Matty, doesn’t he?”

“All the time,” Dakota sighed. “Riley wants a house out here so Matty and Kane can spend more time together. Eventually, Kane will have to spend more time with Wayne and the elders to learn how to lead properly. It’s going to get harder on them both.”

“They’ll be okay.” Lev scratched behind Kane’s ears. “When it’s meant to be, you make it work.”

“Yes, you do. So listen to yourself. If Chaz wants to go back to football, you’d support him, wouldn’t you?”

“Of course I would. I’ll support him no matter what he wants to do. Although, saying my boyfriend is a firefighter is kinda cool.” Lev grinned.

“He looks happy.” Dakota nodded to Chaz.

  “He really does.” Lev smiled.

Chaz’s cheeks were red from the cold, but he actually glowed with happiness. Lev’s cheeks flushed when Chaz shot him a look and winked.

“Everything will work out the way it’s meant to, Lev. Your destiny lies in front of you.”

Kane nuzzled Lev’s hand and Dakota laughed. “I think he’s going to give Wyatt a run for his money when it comes to who stayed in their wolf form the longest as a child.”

After the game, Chaz and Lev took another long walk along the sand. The sea air tickled Lev’s senses. He squeeze
d Chaz’s hand and nudged him with a smile.

“I want to know everything there is to know about you.”

  Chaz’s nose wrinkled. “Everything?”

“Well, not how often you shit per day or anything,” Lev laughed.

“Well, that’s a relief,” Chaz cracked up. He sobered and eyed Lev. “I always knew I was different.”

  “How so?”

“In high school, I didn’t look at girls the way the other guys did. I was always afraid someone would call me out on the fact that I didn’t date. I tried to laugh it off, you know? I’d always bring up the fact that the guys bitched about how their girlfriends would whine and nag. Why would I want that? I wasn’t afraid of getting my ass kicked; I was afraid of losing the team I had. I played it straight and narrow until I graduated. When I got to college, I’d go to Portland, sometimes even further, to hook up.”

Chaz took Lev’s hands in his. “I learned how to deny what I wanted — to play it safe for my parents. I wanted to give back to them.” He kissed Lev’s warm lips. “Then I saw you, and I couldn’t deny what I wanted anymore.”

“Your mom loves you; that’s very clear to me.” Lev palmed Chaz’s face. “I know your father did. According to your mom, he still watches out for you.”

“He taught me how to throw the football, how to catch it — even though he was only five feet tall.” Chaz smiled warmly at the memory. “I towered over him, but he was so much faster than me. He taught me how to avoid getting hit. I owe them a lot.”

“That’s why you keep your mom in the most expensive home, isn’t it?”

“She deserves to be watched out for. I couldn’t take care of her fulltime; she’d wander off in the beginning and it scared the shit out of me.” Chaz shuddered. “Thank God, the cops would bring her back to the house. The last time she took off, I swore I’d make sure she was safe twenty-four hours a day. I felt so guilty at first, like I was giving up on her. But she told me I was doing the right thing.”

  “You did, she seems happy.”

“I still miss my dad every day.” Chaz sighed.

  “How did he…die?”
