That she did covet the riches of our kingdom even beyond that which we paid her in just and fair tax, which taxes she raised highly until they were no longer just, and which then required we make righteous war to earn the coin to pay.
That she did then object to our wars and spoke perfidiously against them in her court, out of fear of decrying our king openly.
That she was further incensed by the riches stolen from the southern reaches of the kingdom of Selvan, which she hails from, though the taking of such riches was necessitated by her own unjust and covetous taxes.
That she did barbarously and cruelly order the assassination of King Jun and dispatched her agents to enact the same.
There is now no other choice. I, Wojin of the family Fei, being the eldest living brother of the father of King Jun, and thus the most eligible living heir to the throne, do now take up his seat upon the throne.
I shall never touch his crown. That shall now be a hallowed relic of the royal family of Dorsea until time ends, and it shall be placed on prominent display in the royal palace. A new crown shall I have forged for myself, silver in pale imitation of Jun’s golden light, which shall forever humble me in its shadow.
Here, too, do I declare the kingdom of Dorsea an independent kingdom. Free are we of the bonds that once tied us to the nation of Underrealm, and especially of the bonds that held us to Enalyn, the so-called High King. Any person who would so deviously and evilly beguile and ensnare one of her own most loyal servants deserves neither loyalty nor fealty, but only scorn and war.
I declare this now on the 5th day of Maius in the First Year of the age of Fei.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Garrett Robinson was born and raised in Los Angeles. The son of an author/painter father and a violinist/singer mother, no one was surprised when he grew up to be an artist.
After blooding himself in the independent film industry, he self-published his first book in 2012 and swiftly followed it with a stream of others, publishing more than two million words by 2014. Within months he topped numerous Amazon bestseller lists. In 2016, after continuing success, he and his wife created Legacy Books as a publishing house to highlight diverse voices in fantasy.
Now, whenever Garrett’s not with his kids, he spends his time writing and publishing books.
Garrett’s most popular works are the novels of Underrealm, including The Nightblade Epic, The Academy Journals, and the Tales of the Wanderer.
Garrett lives in Oregon with his wife Meghan, his children Dawn, Luke, and Desmond, and his dog Chewbacca.
