Soraya entered from outside, the kitsune giving directions to some of Youseg’s attendants. She too wore a turquoise bridesmaid dress, the ends of which were dangerously close to the ground.

“You aren’t supposed to be doing anything,” Bunni scolded her. “You’ll ruin your dress.”

“No, I won’t. And it’s important…” Soraya pointed at one of the veiled monks. “Everything needs to be in place, like I told you. And make sure the napkins are folded into simple stars. I showed you how to do that.”

  The two monks nodded.

“Why are you still following me around?” Soraya asked them. “You should be folding those napkins!”

“Hell yeah, crack the whip,” Micah’s grandmother said after the two monks left. “I sure as hell would with those two dummies. Are you sure you don’t need anything, dearie? I know you like calling the shots here, but sometimes it takes an elder to really put the fear of an ass-whooping into these nuns and monks. Don’t get me wrong, some of them aren’t so bad, especially the young fellow who rubs my feet, but some…” His grandmother twisted her finger a few inches away from her head. “You get the picture. I don’t know where Youseg finds these people, but he certainly isn’t selecting from the cream of the crop. At least in my opinion.”

“Look at you in your wedding best,” Bunni told Micah’s grandmother as she came down the stairs. She bent over and kissed the side of her cheek. “So adorable.” She kissed her on the other cheek. “So cute…”

  “I clean up nice, right?”

  “You do.”

  “Soraya?” Micah’s grandmother asked. “Don’t I get a compliment?”

“What? No. I have to make sure everything is ready,” Soraya said as she went up the stairs to Liza’s room, where the brides were. Yuri was already in the room with them, and had been there for the last hour. Micah still had a few things to put on, including an overcoat that was to go over the sleek jacket he wore, but he was more or less ready to go, Bunni shifting her comments from his grandmother to him as she approached her husband.

“So sexy,” she said. “Already ready to go. Keep that bowtie for later; I can see it on you now, no shirt, muscled chest glistening…”

“Stop! I’m trying not to imagine my grandson like that!” Micah’s grandmother said as she fanned herself.

Bunni looked at the spread of food on the table, much of which hadn’t been touched aside from what Micah’s grandmother had sampled. “Want me to make you a plate?”

“Sure, just a little. There is supposed to be a reception after, and I’m sure it’s going to be quite the feast.”

“It damn well better be,” said Micah’s grandmother. “I practically made them sign a contract saying that they would provide meat. It looks like there’s going to be a couple of roasts there, and I want to be front and center for those. The more meat, the better. Obviously, there will be a mountain of booze, and I can’t wait for the wedding cakes. Hehe, matching wedding cakes. I never would have predicted it.”

“You aren’t the only one,” Bunni told her as she prepared a plate for Micah. “We were all surprised.”

“But love is love, and who are we to get in the way? And we should be excited. What a perfect time to get married! Now that the Society of Monks have had their balls royally tapped, I expect a glorious baby boom, to follow one for the ages. Maybe it’s best if we stay over here with her Plains Dwellers. There’s going to be a lot of little fuckers running around Neo-Hokkaido in nine months to a year, you can believe that.”

Bunni returned to Micah with a plate, and as he had requested, she’d put just a few items on it, mostly fruit as well as a few small pastries. The cheesecake squares were to die for, and the chocolate hazelnut cups definitely had Micah going back for seconds. He didn’t normally have much of a sweet tooth, but whoever Youseg had hired to cater the event knew what they were doing, and soon, Micah had eaten more than he had planned.

From that moment forward, time passed in a weird way, fast at points and slow in others. Soon, the event had started, music played by a group of Heian musicians seated behind a partition, the crowd present mostly consisting of Youseg’s friends, but also a few Monks of Repose. Surprisingly, Ahmey was there as well, as were a handful of Hermetics.

Choro was already waiting at the front as Micah approached. His old friend was dressed in the exact same outfit as Micah, albeit a few sizes larger, and he looked sharp, more handsome than he ever had before.

“You clean up nice,” Micah told him as the two shook hands, Choro’s a little clammy. It was clear he was nervous.

  “I try.”

Micah still couldn’t believe that he was getting married alongside his best friend, nor could he believe that Julia had actually said yes to Choro. The double wedding had been his grandmother’s idea, Choro confessing to her over the time Micah and the ladies were in Neo-Hokkaido that he had secretly been communicating with Julia, that he loved her, and that she loved him.

It all came as a surprise, but nothing in Micah’s life was predictable by this point.

There were six bridesmaids behind Micah and Choro, three related to Julia, and Yuri, Bunni, and Soraya next to them, the kitsune with a firm smile on her face and an eye on the help.

The band started up again just as Micah turned to the end of the carpet covered in rose petals to see Liza, the beautiful nun in an absolutely stunning silver wedding dress that sparkled, the blonde practically floating over to him.

Liza took her place across from Micah, her eyes filled with love. Music started up again and they all looked to the end of the long carpet to see Julia with her silver black hair done up in a bun, in a dress that was slightly darker but equally flowing. She approached as well and joined Choro.

The vow exchange didn’t take too long, and soon Micah and Liza were saying “I do,” followed by Choro and Julia. The double wedding was a success. People began to clap, and a few of the older members of the crowd wiped tears away, Micah’s grandmother crying the most out of everyone that had joined them.

“My beautiful boy and his best friend getting married on the same day, who would’ve thought it was even possible? What genius could have pulled something as unique as this?” she asked the elderly Plains Dweller seated next her. “It’s a miracle, I tell you. This is a fairytale ending, goddammit, I don’t care what you think, lady. Stop looking at me like that. I’m not crying!”

What followed was a huge feast, Micah seated with his grandmother, his wives, and Soraya, Youseg and Ahmey in the middle, Choro and Julia on the other side along with some of the Hermetics and Julia’s parents. The partitions came down and the band switched instruments. They began playing an up-tempo song, and soon the crowd was dancing, Plains Dwellers intermingling with Hermetics intermingling with a few of the Monks of Repose.

The alcohol flowed, and as it did more people joined in the dance, Micah taking center stage with Liza, and occasionally switching off to his two other wives. He danced with Soraya, and his grandmother, but then it was back to Liza, who kissed him passionately at the end of every song.

Pressing away from her for just a moment, Micah looked out of the crowd and noticed a light green energy radiating above them, spiraling upward. It was industria, the power that not only ran his world, but cycled within him, a power that had saved his life, one that had opened more doors than he ever thought possible.

He didn’t know what would come next, but he knew by looking out at the crowd, and at the happy faces of his wives, his grandmother, and his best friend, that things were changing for the better. He knew that he would live, that they would make it through all of this, and that they would come out of it better than they were going in. A true hero’s journey, but also a journey available to anyone who trusted their instincts, who took risks they were passionate about, and dared to stare death in the face.

Liza placed her head against Micah’s chest as the slow dance began, a familiar warmth filling him. It was an incredible moment, and he was ce
rtain that there were plenty more to follow.

  The end.

The next Gideon Caldwell series will be called Moonsault! and it will be released in June 2021. No, I don’t have a pre-order link up yet, but you can quickly join the Harmon Cooper mailing list (if you didn’t know, Gideon is my pen name) and I’ll send out a reminder.

Or just check the Gideon Caldwell Amazon page the first or second week of June. Once a pre-order is up, I’ll replace this text.

  Back of the Book Content

  Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoyed My Ninja Girl 4, and I need your reviews to make this series successful. For now, the series is concluded, but as you can tell there is still room for more story. I write the My Ninja Girl books in pairs, so if I do commit to more, I’ll write a volume 5 and a 6.

But it is really up to the reviews as to if it continues.

So please take a moment and review all four books if you haven’t. I’m a one-man show, meaning I don’t have a team of ghost writers behind the scenes allowing me to release faster. If people review and like the books, I write more. If they don’t, I have to move on. So if you dig this one, and want more to take place in Micah’s world, take a moment to review each volume.

Review My Ninja Girl 4 here.

  Thanks!

Also - I also have exclusive post cards for reviewers (until I run out) for all 4 books. These are US only, so please write an honest review of the book, and send me a screenshot via email and I’ll send a corresponding postcard. If you are friends with me on Facebook, you can send it there as well. Yes, if you review all four books I will send all four postcards.

Thank you for reading My Ninja Girl and reviewing it. And be on the look out for my next series in June 2021, Moonsault!, which is turning out to be one of the most badass books I’ve penned yet (and as of this writing, I’ve published 60 books, so that’s saying something).

If you didn’t know, I write LitRPG and cultivation fantasy under the name Harmon Cooper. Be sure to check that stuff out as well. I started off writing harem as Harmon, but have since launched Gideon Caldwell to focus on this kind of content exclusively, while Harmon works on bigger projects.

I made it easy to subscribe to my mailing list, follow my works through linktree, so do that and be informed of my next release.
