  "Yes." David caught hold of Mason's hand. "You might not be ready for it yet, and that's okay. There's no pressure to use it. I want you to know that."

  They held each other's stares for a moment. Mason knew David was being completely sincere. He had often told Mason of some of the kinks he enjoyed, but they hadn't tried yet. It wasn't to pressure or guilt Mason into participating in any of them, simply to make him aware of what David might like to do with him one day. He squeezed David's hand and then hopped off the sofa, retrieving the present.

  He sat with it on his knees, David watching him excitedly. Unlike David, he ripped the paper and opened the box quickly. His breathing skipped as he saw the contents.

  "When you're ready," David said, as Mason looked up into his stare. "Just say the word."
